The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Guide: How to get the complete Big Goron’s Sword

Friends, this is one of my favorite quests from this immortal Nintendo 64 classic . In it we get the strongest sword in the game (Still, even with it, we need to use the Master Sword in special moments.). Let’s go, then, in search of the strongest sword in Ocarina of Time.

There is an important detail, you will need Epona and, for certain people, you will need to show the necessary items. To do this, just place the defined items on a button, and show it in front of the NPC.

Pocket Egg

In Kakariko Village, talk to the chicken woman and you will receive a Pocket Egg.

Pocket Cucco

Wait for the time to pass until the egg hatches, or just play the Sun’s Song twice if you don’t have the patience. A pocket Cucco will hatch.

Cojiro

Use the Pocket Cucco to wake up Talon’s sleeper, who is in the first house in the village (As soon as you enter Kakariko Village, the first house you see, going forward, is the one with a box on the left side of the door). Now take the Pocket Cucco back to the chicken woman and she will give you a very rare specimen, the blue chicken, Cojiro.

Odd Mushroom

Go to Lost Woods and go left one screen. You will find a strange man sitting on a stump. This is the chicken woman’s brother. Show him Cojiro and you will receive the Odd Mushroom. He will tell you to show the mushroom to the old man in Kakariko Village.

Odd Potion

Now you must take the Odd Mushroom to the Weird Potion Shop in Kakariko Village (Enter the normal Potion Shop which is to the north of the village, up some stairs, go through the hallway on the left to reach the fenced area of ​​the village, then go up some stairs to reach the Weird Potion Shop) before time runs out. This is because Odd Mushroom can spoil if left outdoors for too long, and you only have 3 minutes to stop it from rotting. If time runs out, you have to start again. Don’t try to cheat! If you use the Ocarina to teleport straight to the Graveyard, time will instantly reset and the Odd Mushroom will rot. Give the Odd Mushroom to the guy at the Weird Potion Shop and he will give you the Odd Potion he made with the mushroom.

Poacher’s Saw

Go back to the Lost Woods looking for the guy again. The chicken woman’s brother is gone, but in his place is a little girl Kokiri. Show her the Odd Potion and you will receive the Poacher’s Saw, which the guy left.

Broken’s Goron’s Sword

Now head to Gerudo Valley. If you have already freed the four carpenters from the Gerudo Fortress, you can cross the bridge to the other side. If you don’t have one, you’ll have to use the Longshot or Epona to get across, as the bridge is broken. Talk to the head carpenter, the man outside the tent, and show him the Poacher’s Saw. In return, he will give you Broken’s Goron Sword.

Prescription:

Go to the top of Death Mountain. There, you will find Big Goron (not to be confused with the one inside Goron City), who is an excellent carpenter, specializing in forging swords. Talk to him and he will say that his eyes are irritated and he needs something for his eyes. Show him the Broken’s Goron Sword and the Goron will give you the Prescription, saying that you must go to Zora’s Domain

Eyeball Frog:

Take the Prescription to King Zora in Zora’s Domain and he will give you the Eyeball Frog. Remember that you must have already freed King Zora using the Blue Fire on the bottle. After giving you the Eyeball Frog, King Zora will tell you to take it to the Lake Hylia laboratory.

Eyedrops:

Take the Eyeball Frog to the laboratory scientist at Lake Hylia before time runs out, as the Eyeball Frog is also perishable, and you have a limited time to get from Zora’s Domain to Lake Hylia. Remembering that using the Ocarina is not allowed. Deliver the Eyeball Frog to the scientist in time and, after discovering that the frog is not meant to be eaten, he will make the recipe for the Goron, the Eyedrops.

Claim Check

Unfortunately, eye drops can also spoil. You will have to deliver it to the Big Goron at the top of Death Mountain at the 4 minute mark. Give the Eyedrops to Big Goron, happy to have brought the medicine for your eyes, he will give you the Claim’s Check.

Big Goron’s Sword

Wait three days and talk to Big Goron again (If you don’t want to wait, play Sun’s Song six times) . Afterwards, you will receive the Big Goron’s Sword , the best weapon in the game (Twice as powerful as the Master Sword).
