1 – Complete Walkthrough (Step by Step Guide) of Chrono Cross

PROLOGUE
FORT DRAGONIA
You will start with Serge, Kid and a third random character, after the conversation, go to the right, in the next room go forward until you emerge in an outside area, if you want, you can fight the monsters here, but it is not necessary.

CHAPTER 1 – A CALLING BEYOND TIME
ARNI VILLAGE

ATTACKS: When choosing the Attack option, you will have three attack options: Light, medium and heavy, which consume 1, 2 and 3 stamina points respectively. If your stamina reaches zero or less, you will not be able to perform any further actions with that character, the stamina will be recharged when the other characters perform their actions. Each attack has a different hit rate, with the light one being higher and the heavy one being smaller, as you attack, this hit rate increases. A good strategy is to start using the light attack, then the medium one and finally the heavy one, this increases your chances of carrying out successful attacks.
ELEMENTS: These are the spells in Chrono Cross, there are 6 types of elements represented by colors, they are:
Reds : Fire spells
Blues : Healing, water and ice spells
Greens : Healing, wind and plant spells
Yellows : Earth and thunder spells
Whites : Healing and light spells
Black : Dark spells
To use an element you must first use physical attacks to increase the level of the Element Grid, which is where you equip the elements, light, medium and heavy attacks increase the level by 1, 2 and 3 respectively. After doing this you can choose the “Element” option to use one that is equipped, when you do this your elemental level will decrease according to the level of the element you chose, that is, if you chose a level 2 element.
Your level will decrease by two and you will have to increase it again in the next turn. You can only use an element once in battle, but there are elements that disappear when used. They are “consumables” and are almost entirely elements of healing or removing negative statuses. Notice that in the upper left corner there is a three-level circle.
This is the Field Effect and every time you use an element of a certain color, a level of the circle will be filled in that color. When the three levels are the same color, the efficiency of the elements of that color will be increased considerably, that is, attack spells will cause much more damage and healing spells will recover more HP.
After the lesson, return to the previous area and take the northwest path. Talk to Leena and she tells Serge to go get some Komodo scales to make a necklace for her at Lizard Rock. LIZARD ROCK

Climb the plant to the north to reach the platform, get the monsters out of the way and stay on the edge, wait for the right moment and press x to jump on top of the Komodo.
Defeat him to get the first KOMODO SCALES . Push the rock in the southwest corner into the water and get a Silver Loupe from the chest, go back to the previous area and push the rock to the left to block the passage, go around and the Komodo will be surrounded, finish it off to get more a KOMODO SCALES , go left and get a Tablet from the chest to the south.
Now follow the path above and go to a hole in the southwest part, enter it to come out somewhere else, get a Bone from the chest on the island, enter the cave to the north and go to a chest with an Ivory Helmet , go back through hole and run after the Komodo until you reach it, defeat it and their mother will come and talk to you.
BOSS: Mama Komodo
ELEMENT: Blue
She uses a physical attack, nothing to worry about, Aqua Beam can cause about 20 HP of damage so be careful and heal if necessary, in addition, use some Fireballs and she shouldn’t last long when you defeat her you will gain another space on your Element Grid to equip elements, this will be the case every time you defeat a boss, but a character will not always gain a space, this varies for each one.

OPASS BEACH

CHAPTER 2 – NOTHING HAS CHANGED EXCEPT EVERYTHING
Serge will be woken up by a villager, he says that Leena is in Arni, leave the beach and go all the way back through Lizard Rock, notice that the enemies here are different and there are also new items, collect them all and head to Arni Village, talk to people and they don’t seem to know Serge, go to the pier and talk to Leena, she doesn’t recognize Serge either, but says he looks like a boy who died a while ago.

CHAPTER 3 – THE PRIDE OF ACACIA DRAGONS

PATH 1 – THE ROCKER

Easy, just use elements like Bushwhacker and Aero Saucer and also the Techs, it is advisable to have Poshul in the group with healing elements for any emergency.
The man enters a cave behind a small waterfall, go after him and you will discover that it is Nikki, he says he thinks his sister is in the mansion and asks to go with the group, choose the first option to accept and then choose any option to not hear your music, enter the cave again and read the letter, it gives instructions on how to get past the monster that blocks the path, you will also find the ANGRY SCAPULA item, get the AROMA POUCH item from the chest, exit from the cave and examine the plant near it, a green ball will follow you, go back to the previous area and get close to the green creature, now run from it and it will follow you, don’t let it eat the green ball or you will have to do everything new, lure her to the monster that blocks the path and he will devour her, now you must defeat the monster to be able to continue on the way, in the next area, you will find Solt, Peepor and another member of the Acacia Dragoons, Zoah, let’s fight :
BOSSES: ZOAH, SOLT AND PEPPOR
ELEMENTS: YELLOW (THREE)
Solt and Peepor come with the same attacks as before and with some new tricks, Zoah also doesn’t represent much danger, as he is very slow, finish him off using green elements and then take care of the two clowns, if you have Kid in the group you can try to steal a Zoah Knee Pad.
Get a Heal from the chest and enter the tree, get a Magma Bomb from the chest and move forward, in the next area, defeat the monster in front of the rock and push it towards the hole where the insects come out, now follow forward until you see a chest with an insect on top, for now we can’t get it, so go through the hole and you will be at the bottom of a well, the group decides to wait until nightfall, go right and then north to enter the stable.
PATH 2 – THE MAGICIAN
Go to the bar and talk to the man in white on the left, his name is Guile (no, he’s not military and doesn’t throw sonic boomerangs!) and he says he made a bet with a fortune teller that he would be able to steal a certain item from Viper Manor, choose the first option and he will join the group, put him in the battle group and head to the place where Dario’s tomb is and you will see Korcha, go around and go under the house to get to where he is, talk to him and pay 100 G so he can take you in his boat, Guile will guide you to a cliff at the back of the mansion, when you arrive, go up the wall, the soldiers will see the group and start throwing rocks , they can cause some damage if they hit you and can even knock you down, keep going up and on the left there is a rise with a jet of water that can knock you down, wait for the right moment to continue, go up through the left corner to a chest with a Meteorite, go back and go up in the middle, in the next area go up a little and go left, go up there being careful with the water jet and the rocks, at the end there is a chest with a Trap Element Free Fall, go back and go down one little, go up to the right until you see a small drop to the left, follow it and go up to reach the top, the soldiers will attack.
BOSS: ACACIA PRIVATE X2

They are just foot soldiers so you don’t have much to worry about, use your Techs and elements like Bushwhacker and Aero Saucer and you shouldn’t have any problems.
The soldier throws a rock at the group, but misses and it ends up hitting a monster who is not happy about it, go up to face him:

These guys will be hard work, finish off the two minions first as they use assistance spells on their king, use physical attacks and save the elements for the boss, send Meteorite, Photon Ray and Dash & Slash to finish him off, leave Guile in charge for healing, as your attacks are not very effective against him.
The group decides to wait until nightfall to enter the mansion, head north to enter the stable.
PATH 3 – THE HERO (COMING SOON)

VIPER MANOR (HERE THE PATHS MEET)

4 – ALL GAME ENDINGS
Final 1 – Defeat Lavos using the Chrono Cross;
Final 2 – Defeat Lavos without using Chrono Cross;
Note: The following endings can only be achieved in New Game+
Ending 3 – Before recruiting Pohshul, go to Opassa Beach passing through Lizard Rock without getting the Komodo Scales, there use the TIME EGG on the pink portal to face Lavos, do this every time you want to get a new ending, so I won’t keep repeating it.
Ending 4 – Defeat Lavos shortly after Kid joins the party in Termina.
Final 5 – Defeat Lavos after Kid is poisoned and Korcha leaves you in Termina.
Ending 6 – Defeat Lavos once Kid is healed and returns to the group.
Ending 7 – I’m not sure about this one, but it seems like you should defeat Lavos without having saved Razzly during the search for the cure for Kid.
Ending 8 – Defeat Lavos after escaping the Dimensional Vortex and before rescuing Riddel.
Ending 9 – Defeat Lavos right after Viper, Fargo, Marcy, and Karsh/Zoah join the party on the SS Invincibile.
Final 10 – Defeat Lavos right after defeating Dario and getting the Mastermune.
Final 11 – Defeat Lavos after defeating Fate and the emergence of Terra Tower.
Ending 12 – Another one I’m not sure about, but it looks like you must defeat Lavos after rescuing Riddel, but before going to Hermit’s Hideaway where she joins the party.
