Dante’s Inferno – Complete Walkthrough (Step by Step Guide)
July 27, 2024Chasing Beatrice
In Chasing Beatrice , you start by finding Beatrice dead. When Dante touches it, it is taken away, and here you must face the enemies using your new weapon: the scythe. Advance along the path where the fire went out and save your progress at the Beatrice statue. Take the opportunity to recover your health in the green fountain before entering through the red gate. Run towards Beatrice and take the holy cross from her. When the flying demons appear, use the holy cross for ranged attacks. From now on, you can punish or absolve any enemy on the battlefield. Attention: parts of the floor will start to fall, so stay on the firm portion to avoid dying.
Quickly climb up the wooden cross and double jump to reach the platform ledge with the green fountain. Go down the pole, let go and defeat the enemies along the way. Turn right before a roller crushes you and jump to the platform below. A fire barrier will block your path and fire enemies will appear. Use the holy cross to attack them from a distance and then swing with the scythe to defeat them. Go around the gorge and save your progress.
Gates of Hell
In Gates of Hell , you must go down the pole and you will receive your first spell: Righteous Path. When your redemption bar is full (bottom left), you can activate it to become immortal and faster. Face the beast by dodging its feet, attacking and moving away again. After defeating the beast, Dante will become its master and will be able to guide it. Defeat all enemies riding the beast and open the large gate.
Into The Blind World
In Into The Blind World , save your progress, grab the wall, climb down, turn left, and jump from wall to wall.
Shores of Acheron
In Shores of Acheron , pull the lever to activate the bridge, but it will start to move away. Avoid fighting the enemies and cross the bridge as quickly as possible, performing a double jump at the end. Climb down the pole and let go at the end. You will face two horned demons (demon guardians). Turn the lever and notice a crack shining in the wall: strike it to reveal a door.
Advance along the only available path and face two more demon guardians so that the fire barrier is dismantled. On the left side of the door you will find Pontius Pilate; decide whether to punish him or absolve him. Stick your scythe into the door to open it. Defeat some enemies and save your progress at the Beatrice statue.
Hang from the rope above your head and move to the right. After speaking to the stone monster, Charon, the rope will be cut. Cling to the wall, pass through when the fire stops and climb up. In the next room you will find a small puzzle. Your objective is to jump onto the platform above where there is a violet fountain, something that is not possible at first, even with a double jump:
- Drag the box over the ramp to the right, push it all the way into the opening in the wall, and leave it there for now.
- Rotate the lever in the center of the moving platform until it reaches the closest part of the screen.
- Move the box onto the moving platform.
- Turn the lever in the opposite direction until you reach the bottom of the screen.
- Climb onto the box and reach the platform above.
Decide whether to punish or absolve Orpheus. Climb the wall as high as you can, go around it to the left and then reach the next part of the level.
The River Acheron
In The River Acheron , you will face two demon guardians and a beast. After defeating the beast, take control of it to rip off the large head. When the boat collides, use the beast’s jumps to climb the pillars.
Limbo
In Limbo , start by saving your progress. Then, go right to the end and go down the wall. On the way, you will encounter an enemy, an explosive minion. The strategy here is to grab it and throw it against the blocked door to open the way. Optionally, if you want to gain some extra souls, push the giant head. However, the main path is to turn right and stick the scythe in the door to move forward.
Soon after, you will face several smaller enemies. Use your scythe and acquired skills to defeat them quickly. Continue down the hallway and, if you want, you can stab your scythe into the door on the right to find Electra, where you will have the choice to punish or absolve her. After that, go back and continue your way down the main hallway.
As you advance, you will face more enemies. Defeat them to make the fire barrier fall apart. Again, stick the scythe in the door and prepare for the boss. During the fight, dodge the tentacles and attack the boss’s head as soon as it lowers. When he blows, stick to the wall to avoid getting hit. Stick the scythe in the boss’s hand and perform a powerful combo. Finally, drag the boss by the tongue to the torturer of sinners to defeat him. After the battle, jump over the chasm by hanging from the ceiling to continue.
Descent Into Lust
In Descent Into Lust , start by descending to the end of the rope, but don’t let go. Swing from side to side and jump to the right. Repeat this process a few times until you find a blocked path. Swing on the rope and swing when it’s on the far right to remove the obstacle. Do the same with the flying enemies you encounter along the way. Continue down the pole and when you find Francesca da Polenta, decide whether to punish or absolve her.
lust
In Lust , after the initial animation, energy spheres will begin advancing down the hallway. Run halfway and find a lever on the left side. Rotate it as soon as the energy sphere is almost there to make it move in the opposite direction. Quickly follow it and go through the force barrier which will be temporarily deactivated.
Defeat some enemies that appear and go right. Turn the lever as far as you can and quickly destroy the stone serpent’s two fangs. Rotate the lever again until it opens completely. Jump over the snake’s tongue and reach the platform above. Go down the left ramp to save your progress at the Beatrice statue.
Carnal Tower
In Carnal Tower , watch the animation of Cleopatra climbing the tower. Next to the Beatrice statue there is a lever, but don’t pull it yet. First, jump onto the circular platform and move the statue to the center of it. Then pull the mentioned lever. If done correctly, the platform will lift halfway, allowing you to climb up. On the right, there is a second lever, but you have to be quick. Pull the lever and return to the raised platform before it goes up without you.
Cleopatra will appear again, sending enemies to confront you. Note that at a certain point she rests her hand on the platform. After defeating the enemies, she hits her hand. When she removes her hand, the platform will rise a little. Go to the far left, jump and pull the lever. Again, hit Cleopatra’s hand, go to the far right and pull the other lever. If done correctly, the left lever turns the serpent’s mouth toward Cleopatra while the right lever releases the flames.
When the platform stops rising, the path is to the left. Before that, you can go to the right, go down the post and decide whether to punish or absolve Paolo Malatesta. Continuing along the path to the left, use the fountains, hang from the wall and pass when the rays stop. Reach the highest platform and save your progress at the statue. Choose whether to punish or absolve Semiramis.
Above The Lust Storm
In Above The Lust Storm , continue climbing the wall until you reach the top of the tower. Get ready to face the warrior Marco Antônio. Use the same tactic you used against Death: attack and move away. Also, hit the woman’s hand whenever you are on the platform. Once you defeat Mark Antony, press the key sequence to finish off Cleopatra. After victory, you will receive the second spell: Lust Storm.
The platform will begin to descend, and you will face more enemies. Avoid staying in the portions that will be destroyed. Use the scythe to hang between the statues and reach solid ground. Cross the entire platform, climb down the pole avoiding the flames, and hang from the next ropes. Shake quickly before they burn completely. Finally, reach dry land and save your progress at the statue.
Descent Into Gluttony
In Descent Into Gluttony , start by climbing down the pole until you reach the end, then jump to the ground. Here, you will face Cerberus, the guardian of Limbo. The main strategy is to dodge the attacks and focus on hitting the head that is attacking you first. Cerberus has a mechanic where you can remove one of the four stones from the ground, hoping that the flames hit the head during the attack. When you’re about to defeat the last head, Cerberus will try to swallow you, but just follow the sequence of keys on the screen to escape and defeat him once and for all.
Gluttony
After defeating Cerberus, advance to where he was guarding and start jumping on the platforms very carefully, as falling here means certain death. Use the green and violet fountains to recover health and magic, then go down the pole around the opening until you find the correct position to continue.
The worms in this stage are dangerous, sucking up a lot of health with their attacks, so prioritize defeating them before the smaller enemies. Continue until you find Ciacco, where you must decide whether to punish or absolve him. Then save your progress.
In The Cold Mud
In In The Cold Mud , defeat the flying enemies that appear and continue jumping on the platforms. You will meet Clodia, where you will again have the choice to punish or absolve her. After making your decision, jump to the next platform and hang from the rope to reach the other side.
Get ready to face multiple waves of enemies. After defeating them, enter through a kind of portal where you will find Glutton. Mainly use attacks with the cross to avoid the acids hitting you, but also use the opportunity to attack with the scythe, quickly moving away after the blows. Next, solve the portals puzzle, which can be quite disorienting:
- Enter through the first portal.
- Hang and swing from the ropes until you reach solid ground.
- There are three holes releasing fire and a fourth hole with a rock blocking the fire outlet. Push the rock over each of the holes, grab the rope, swing back and forth, and jump to the platform above. Time is short, so there is no room for error.
- Hang from some more ropes and, in the section where you need to go through the holes that release fire, use the interaction button to move faster.
- Finally, land on solid ground and climb the platforms.

Continue before the passage closes and pull the lever to go up.

Hoarders and Wasters
In Hoarders and Wasters , spin the wheel for the first time so enemies appear and the room is sealed off. Keep spinning the wheel while fighting enemies, until a small opening on the right becomes available. Quickly go there, defeat the enemies and take control of the beast to open the gate. Stick the scythe in the door and advance.
Climb the wall at the end of the hallway, jump and throw the scythe to swing and grab the rope. Get ready to face a new type of enemy: Throne Demon, which is quite resistant and offensive. Go around the area and pull the lever. Jump to the first circular platform, kill all the enemies and jump to the next one. When you reach the last one, jump to the left. Pull the lever to fire a fireball, then turn the revealed wheel all the way to the left. Activate the previous lever again and the pillar will be broken. Scale it and save your progress.

In Ill-Giving and Ill-Keeping , stick your scythe in the door and cross the hallway. Pull the lever to make the platform lower.

Then start turning to the right until the two generated platforms become favorable for your jump towards the golden statue. Save your progress and stick the scythe in the door to proceed.
Plutus Chamber

The battle can be challenging, as Beast Tamers are able to quickly regain control of the beast. Focus on defeating them first to make the fight easier.
Push the large block to clear the path and then hang from the wall. Go around to the left, go down and you will return to an already familiar area. Here, defeat all the enemies and move the block to the button on the floor on the far right. This will allow you to climb the right wall. Jump over the now lowered statue and continue advancing across the platforms. Face another wave of enemies and prepare for the boss: Dante’s father. He is strong, but slow. Use aerial attacks to avoid counterattacks and use some magic to speed up the combat, as his health bar is quite long. After defeating him, you will receive the spell: Sins of the Father. Recover your health at the green fountain and save your progress at the Beatrice statue.
Sins Of The Father

After talking to the poet, hang from the wall and go around the entire area. Climb the platforms on the right and hang from the rope. Drop to the central platform and face the Throne Demon and several other enemies. When the platform rises again, jump to the ledge above, grab the wall, and save your progress.

Repeat the procedure until you reach the top. Climb the left wall (highlighted when the lever appears) and pull the lever. Go down the pole and save your progress at the statue.

In The Styx Marsh , stay on the floating platform and defeat some flying enemies. Perform the sequence of movements to defeat the big fire monster. After defeating the new enemies, the passage will be unlocked. Watch a brief animation of Beatrice and jump the chasm using the scythe swing. Pull the lever once, defeat all enemies, and pull it again to cross the bridge. Defeat more enemies, climb onto the platform and pull the lever.
After the animation, Dante will take control of Phlegyas. Let him walk along the narrow path and destroy the city gate.
City of Dis
In City of Dis , destroy any obstacle you find along the way. When you get stuck on a platform, slam your foot on the ground to knock it down. Dante will hang from the rope. Quickly push the block forward to block the flame and leave it on the revealed temporary platform.
Defeat more enemies, grab the wall and jump when the flames get smaller. Pull the lever to reveal a door.
When you pull the lever in this room, the caldera will fill with lava and the statue will rise. Move the block across the room and place it to the left of the boiler to lock it in that position.
Then go back to where you pulled the lever and the door was revealed. Note that an alternative path to the right is now available. Cross all the way across, pull the lever at the end to destroy the statue you moved earlier, and climb up there. Save your progress and go through the door.
Followers Of Epicurus
In Followers Of Epicurus , you’ll need to quickly run and jump on platforms before they collapse. This section may require a few tries to memorize the correct path. Pay attention and practice the timing of your jumps to avoid falls. Stay focused and don’t give up, as practice will make perfect.

In Panderers And Seducers , jump on the moving platform to reach the other side. Here, you will be challenged to defeat all enemies with infinite Mana in less than 75 seconds to qualify for the bonus. The bridge will lower once all enemies are defeated, regardless of time. Grab the wall and save your progress just ahead.
Flatters
In Flatterers , you will face yet another challenge: performing a 100-hit combo, with a bonus if completed in less than 30 seconds. This isn’t easy, but the tip is to use the cross together with the scythe to keep the distance and not break the combo. Cross the bridge, pull the lever and jump into the cave before the platform drops too far.
Simonists
In Simonists , your objective is to eliminate 5 enemies while they are in the air. You will have a bonus minute to complete this task. The best way to do this is to use your combos to throw the Throne Demons into the air and attack them before they fall. Remember that enemies with shields can’t be thrown, so focus on the others.
Sorcerers
In the Sorcerers challenge , you need to stay in the air for 8 seconds and, as a bonus, eliminate two enemies while in the air. The strategy is to throw an enemy into the air and use combos with strong attacks, as this prolongs your time in the air. After completing the challenge, cross the bridge and stand on the platform raised by chains. Strike with the scythe and jump before it falls completely.
Politicians
In Politicians , you must destroy all enemies while protecting humans. The bonus is keeping all the innocents alive. To do this, mainly use attacks with the cross, which have a greater range, or attacks with the scythe, staying away from humans to avoid collateral damage.

Forgers
In Falsifiers , the challenge is an endurance test: simply kill all the enemies. The bonus time is five minutes. This is the last challenge, so give it your all. After the animation, turn left and save your progress.
Descent Into Treachery
In Descent Into Treachery , climb down two poles, reach the other end of the rope, and let go. Defeat the enemies while paying attention to the giant’s breath, which can knock you into the abyss. Be careful when jumping from one ledge to another, always watching for the moments when the giant blows.
Treachery
Treachery requires patience and attention to cross the ice walkway. When the place you step on starts to shake, it means you will soon fall, so take a few steps back. The correct path is narrow and requires several attempts to identify. Proceed with caution.
Lake Coeytus
You must destroy the object to fall into the combat arena. In this first part, use attacks with the cross, which are more efficient. Invest in upgrades for the cross if you have souls to spare. Jump during the shockwaves caused by the ground punches and continue launching aerial attacks with the cross. When the boss gets dizzy, get close and hit his belly.
In the second part of the fight, Lucifer will appear. Combat with him is more direct, just perform combos and move away from attacks. In the third part, use the scythe to grab Lucifer and strike him in the air. When his health is almost gone, he will stay off the ground. Use the scythe to grab the suspended platforms and swing until you reach it for the final blow.
Congratulations, you finished the game!
