2 – Complete Walkthrough (Step by Step Guide) of Mega Man X5

EARLY STAGE

PHASE 1 – EXPLOSIVE TRAIN

Move forward destroying the robots on the way, shoot the blue eye to destroy the wagons, jump to the other one before it explodes, there is a part with an opening in the ceiling that leads to a place full of spikes where there is a Heart Tank at the end , you can only come here when you have the Gaia armor, so move forward and after you destroy the last wagon, you will have to be quick to move from one wagon to another and you can’t touch the drills, or you are gone, get a Sub Tank in front of one of the wagons, go forward and you will stop in a mine, climb the opening in the ceiling to reach an Armor Capsule and get the first part of the Falcon armor, go forward until you reach the stage boss:

BOSS: CRESCENT GRIZLY
Send charged shots without mercy and when he throws the boomerangs stay in the lowest part to escape, when he digs the ground wait for him to appear, jump forward turn and shoot quickly, when he is almost dying (?) he will use the giant boomerang, climb the wall to escape, with zero the plan is to attack up close and dodge its attacks like Mega Man.

PHASE 2 – UNDERWATER

PHASE 3 – FACTORY

You are now going to go for a motorcycle ride, collect all (EVERY) energy balls on the way, this is very difficult and you can have a good time here, but if you can, when you reach the end of the motorcycle route, Mega Man or zero will use the energy balls to open a secret passage where there is an Armor Capsule, with another part of the Falcon armor, after picking it up, fall into the hole and shoot the yellow thing to open a passage, move forward and shoot in the two yellow and purple sections to open the passages, be quick before they close, continue moving forward and shoot two more devices (the sections), alternately to open another passage, move forward and there are two more sections, only this time you must be careful with the spikes, continue forward until you reach a place where there is only one yellow passage, up there is a Heart Tank, come back here when you have the Gaia armor, go to the place with two passages and shoot the devices to open them and reach the level boss:

BOSS: BOLT KRAKEN
With Mega Man use the ice gun and you won’t have any problems, with Zero it’s more complicated, use the Freezing Air Dash, but when you do this you can take damage, so it’s good to have a full Sub Tank.

PHASE 4 – CASTLE

Right at the beginning, shoot at the gate to knock it down, there is a Heart Tank down there, but you can only get it with the Gaia armor, move forward being careful with the chandeliers with spikes, at a certain point in the level you will see a object on top of a wooden ceiling, it is the Ex Tank and to get it, you have to have the Burn T-Rex firearm to destroy the wooden ceiling and get it, go forward and go up the stairs , wait for the chandeliers to lower to pass them, at the end shoot the black wall to open a passage, follow the stairs detonating whatever appears, at the end a small challenge, shoot only the black robot forgetting the purple ones, be careful with the lasers, at the end defeating it you will be transported to another area, move forward being careful with the balls that come out of the orange eyes, when you reach a part where orange balls come out of an opening in the ceiling, go up through this opening and destroy the orange eye with the charged boomerang weapon, to open a secret passage with an Armor Capsule containing the last part of the Falcon armor, go down and continue moving forward to reach the stage boss:

PHASE 5 – SPACE

Go with the falcon armor here, move forward ignoring the purple robots until you reach a moving platform, let it take you and jump over the obstacles and duck to avoid the ceiling with spikes, be careful with the bats, it may not seem like it but they are very dangerous, at the end there is the second Sub Tank in the highest part, fly up there to get it, go down and you will be transported to another area, here when you touch the giant arrows the scenery turns upside down, move forward, destroying the enemies and when you reach a part where a Heart Tank is under some boxes, go back to the arrow to turn the scene so you can get to it, but be very careful with the spikes on the ceiling, continue in front, but before entering to face the boss, go down the hole to reach an Armor Capsule, use the homing torpedo, to hit the blue button on the other side and open the passage, take the first part of the Gaia armor and go up to face the stage boss:

BOSS: DARK NECROBAT
With Mega Man, use the homing torpedo to finish him off, if you have a full charge it should be enough, with Zero, use the energy bomb and if it runs out, use the spinning cut to finish the job.

PHASE 6 – AIR FORCE

Keep moving forward, detonating the time bombs before they explode to avoid high damage, save the yellow robots to gain lives, when you reach a platform that moves diagonally, go up a little and then fly to the left, high up to reach another armor capsule containing the second part of the Gaia armor, continue moving forward until you reach a large elevator that will descend, when it destroys the second stone platform fall down and get the W-Tank, don’t stay under the elevator or you will die, follow the passage at the end to another elevator that this time will go up, in the first corridor save the hostages and destroy the bomb, go back and continue going up, in the second corridor take the heart tank at the end, go back and continue going up to face the stage boss:

BOSS: SPIRAL PEGASUS
Right at the beginning use the weapon to stop time, then send bullets without mercy, if the weapon’s charge runs out, use the W-Tank to recharge it and continue attacking, if it’s still not enough, use the stun gun to complete the job, with Zero the scheme is the same, but it will be much easier. After beating this Dynamo will challenge you again, get ready:

PHASE 7 – LAVA RIVER

Right at the beginning, go down and be careful with the flamethrowers that take a lot of energy, when you get down there wait for the river of lava to pass and fall into the first hole, quickly go left and go down into the other hole to get a Heart Tank and one life, go back and move forward, stay in the dark parts to protect yourself from the lava river, at the end destroy the iron door to go to another area, now you must choose between two paths, I prefer the top one, but you Who knows, if you go from the bottom, take the vehicle and detonate the robots that appear, but be quick, because after some time the vehicle will destroy itself, taking you with it, going from the top path you have to escape from the dragon robot and still be careful not to fall into the lava, destroy the walls that block the path and when you reach a part with two moving platforms, use the boomerang weapon to finish off the dragon, with Zero attack normally, when you finish him follow the passage, on the other side, there are two more paths, the top one leads to the boss, continue flying forward to reach an armor capsule containing the third part of the Gaia armor, now go back and head to the boss of the level:

BOSS: BURN T-REX
With Mega Man use the hurricane weapon near him, with Zero use the ghost cut, it takes a lot of work and you should use at least one Sub-Tank.

PHASE 8 – FOREST OF THORN

Keep going forward until you reach a place where you have to climb, there are some black boxes that you can destroy with the Gaia armor to access a secret area, where there is a heart tank, come back here later, climb the green wires and there at the top continue forward until you reach a hole at the end, go down and at the bottom hang on the yellow ropes, when you reach the third rope, with the Falcon armor, fly through an opening in the ceiling to reach another Armor Capsule containing the last part from the Gaia armor, go down and continue forward to reach the stage boss:

With Mega Man use the Burn T-Rex firearm, with Zero use the fire sword, be careful with your whip, which takes a lot of energy, you might not even need it, but it’s good to have a full Sub Tank.

Now that you have the Gaia armor, collect the missing heart tanks, after collecting everything, fill the two Sub Tanks and the W-Tank, when you’re ready, go to the final phase.

FINAL PHASE – PART 1

This stage is very boring, so get ready to be very angry, go down quickly and be careful not to be hit by the lasers that kill instantly, the first part is very easy, but in the second you will need to use the weapon to stop the time, but be quick before the charge runs out, if you can get down there there is still the third part, use the W-Tank to reload the time stopping weapon and use it again to go through the vertical lasers and reach the boss of the phase:

BOSS: BLACK BUBBLE
Argh! This monster is really annoying, right from the beginning several parts of it will attack you and dodging them is not easy, so it’s good (not to say mandatory) to have both Sub-Tanks full, when the parts come together wait for the creature to open its eyes and so hit him with the stun gun if you have Mega Man or the electric sword if you have Zero, the biggest care is when his parts surround you and attack from both sides, then you will have to show all your skill, when If you are close to dying he will turn into a giant skull and come at you, keep attacking until he falls.

FINAL PHASE – PART 2

There are no secrets in this phase, but it is recommended that you go with the Falcon armor if you go with Mega Man, Zero will have no problems thanks to his double jump, just move forward detonating the robots and being careful with the spikes when you have to Climb the walls, fly or double jump to reach the highest parts and reach the stage boss:

BOSS: THREE EYES AND A FLAME
You must attack the eyes as follows: use the firearm against the blue eye, the stun gun against the red eye and the boomerang gun against the green eye, when the wall closes it is because the flame will attack, use the ice weapon against it and be careful not to fall into the spikes, if you finish off the flame before destroying the three eyes, the wall will no longer open making the battle much more difficult, so let the flame finally, if you are with Zero the scheme is: red eye – electric sword; green eye – rotating cut; blue eye – fire sword; flame – freezing air dash, good luck.

FINAL PHASE – PART 3

If you want to get Megaman’s Ultimate Armor, you need to have gotten all the heart tanks, the two Ex Tanks, the W-Tank and that item that I don’t know what it’s for, you must still enter this phase with the Blue armor, I I know it’s complicated, but… well, move forward, detonating the robots and being careful with the spikes, as in the previous stage, follow the wires and jump the platforms, some may fall so be careful, when you reach a platform you can’t move. move slide down the wall to find a secret area where there is the last Armor Capsule containing Mega Man’s Ultimate Armor or Zero’s Black Armor, after getting it go up and continue forward to face the stage boss:

BOSS: ZERO OR MEGAMAN
If you have Mega Man, send normal shots charged at Zero and have at least one full Sub Tank (two if you have blue armor), as he has an attack that is almost impossible to dodge, if you have Zero then it stays easier, as Mega Man doesn’t have any very powerful attacks, attack normally and he will soon fall.

FINAL PHASE – SIGMA

Now with the Ultimate Armor, go forward until you reach a hole with a long drop, you will stop at a place with red capsules, where you will have to face the eight bosses from the previous stages, just use the same schemes as before if you have Zero, with Mega Man simply use Nova Crush and you won’t have any problems, after finishing everyone go to the yellow capsule, now continue forward and when you reach a cliff wait for a black block to appear and jump on top of it, keep jumping on the blocks black ones that appear until you reach the final boss:

BOSS: SIGMA
With Mega Man use Nova Crush and he won’t give you the slightest trouble, with Zero things get complicated when he keeps moving in a zigzag, dodge him and hit him with the electric sword when you can, be careful with the giant waves of energy, depending on where they come from, jump over it or go under it, it also releases small balls of energy that chase you, try to save the two Sub Tanks for the next battle, which will be much more difficult.

FINAL BOSS: GIANT SIGMA
Even with the Ultimate Armor you can have serious difficulties here, so don’t hesitate, the thing is to hit the rock that is on his head, when it is exposed so don’t expect anything easy, with Mega Man use Nova Crush and You won’t have many problems, you might have to use a Sub Tank but that’s ok, with Zero use your giant hands to reach the rock at the top and attack it without mercy, it may take a while but one day victory will be yours, good luck !

3 – Armor and Items

3.1 – Mega Man Armor

Blue – In fact, this is Mega Man without any armor, his defense is very weak, he doesn’t have an air dash and the charged shot is a piece of shit and on top of that he doesn’t carry the bosses’ weapons, so if risk with this thing if you already start with armor X?

X – This is the second best armor of the game, has an excellent defense, has Air Dash and its loaded shot is devastating, and being able to carry the weapons of the bosses, only loses even to Ultimate.

Falcon – The third best armor in the game, the Falcon allows Mega Man to fly freely for a long time and thus be able to access secret areas, its defense is reasonable and its charged shot is even good, it doesn’t have an air dash (and does it need it?) and it also cannot carry the bosses’ weapons, it has a Giga Attack in which several rays rain down across the screen, causing good damage to enemies.

Gaia – This armor is the second worst in the game, despite having the best defense and being able to walk on thorns, it does not have an air dash, it cannot use the bosses’ weapons and their shots, despite being powerful it has a short range, So with your giga attack, only use it to pick up items that cannot be picked up with other armor.

Ultimate – With this name it could only be the best armor in the game, it has the same characteristics as armor X, but it has something more: its giga attack, Nova Crush is a real asset, you can get this armor normally in the game, or using a code that you can check in the tips section.

3.2 – Zero Armor

Red – It is Zero’s normal form, this armor already comes with Air Dash, has a slightly better defense than the Blue armor, and its Z Saber does enormous damage up close, in addition to having excellent speed.

Black – Zero’s black armor doesn’t bring any major changes, it just increases Zero’s defense considerably and his Z Saber now also destroys enemy shots, but not all of them, you can get this armor normally in the game or through a code that you Check it out in the tips section.

3.3 – Items

Heart Tank – Item that increases Megaman or Zero’s maximum life, you get one in each phase, but you can get more depending on your performance.

Sub Tank – Item that is used to recharge your life when it is low, there are two in total and they are really very useful.

W-Tank – Item used to recharge the energy of your weapons, there is only one in the Spiral Pegasus phase.

Ex Tank – Item that increases the number of lives with which you start a phase from 2 to 4.

Armor Capsule – These are green capsules where you get parts of the Falcon and Gaia armor and the Ultimate armor, there are nine in total in the entire game.
