2. Crossing the Cave: Continue going down until you find a cave. Venture through it, facing challenges and trainers, until you reach the end, which leads directly to Azalea (or Azilia).

3. Slowpokes Quest: In Azalea, north of the city, visit Kurt’s house, a master at creating Poké Balls. It will reveal a concern about the local Slowpokes, which are being over-caught. He agrees to help you and head to the cave at the beginning of the city.

4. Fighting Team Rocket: Inside the cave, you will face members of Team Rocket. Beat everyone and save the Slowpokes. As a reward, Kurt will present you with the Lure Ball.

6. Golden Rod’s Gym: Challenge Whitney, leader of the local gym specializing in normal Pokémon. Upon defeating her, she will initially refuse to hand over the Plains Badge. 2. The Sudowoodo: Return to the peculiar tree and use the Squirtbottle on it. The “tree”, which is actually a Sudowoodo, will get angry and attack. You can choose to capture him or defeat him. Don’t be fooled by appearance; he is a rock-type Pokémon.

  • At the end of the route, you will enter the City of Olivini.
  • Please note that the city gym is closed. The leader, Jasmine, is not present.

  • To cure the Pokémon, you will need to look for a special medicine in Cianwood City.
  • But before you set off on your journey, visit the last house before the beach. A man will give you the HM04-Strenght.

  • During the journey, you will encounter Suicune again. When it gets close, it will run away.

2. Mahogany City Exploration:

  • Arriving in the city, go to the northern part where there is a park. In the center, there is a lake with a red Gyarados.

Return to the Golden Rod and the Liberation of the Radio Tower

Upon returning to Golden Rod, the main focus is the Radio Tower, which has been taken over by the members of Team Rocket. Upon entering the tower, you will encounter several members of Team Rocket. As you advance through the floors, you will certainly notice a gate blocking the path. Leave it for later. When you reach the top, face the Team Rocket leader. Upon defeating him, you will be rewarded with the Basement Key .

With this key in hand, head northwest of the city. There is a residence there with a descending staircase. Go through the narrow hallway to the right of the main hallway. Use the Basement Key to open the blocked door and prepare to face your rival once again. After defeating the 3 Rocket members, you will find three switches next to them. Activate them in the order: 1st, 2nd and 3rd. By doing this correctly, a passage will be freed up.

Continuing through this underground area, you will eventually encounter a distinctive-looking Team Rocket member. He will provide you with the Card Key . Use this item to access blocked areas in the Radio Tower. With the Team Rocket members defeated, the path to the 8th Gym will be clear.

City of Blackthorn: Clash with Dragons and Obtain the Rising Badge

After the recent adventure in Golden Rod, the destination is now Blackthorn. From Mahogany, head east. You will find a cave that will present challenges such as pushing rocks and sliding on ice. In this underground maze, search for the essential item, the HM07-Waterfall .

Once out of this cave, you will find yourself in Blackthorn, home of the 8th and final Gym in the Johto region. The Gym specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon and is led by Clair. After a hard-fought battle, in a twist, Clair refuses to hand over the badge. Don’t be discouraged. Behind the gym, use Surf and follow the path to a cave. There, after using HM06-Whirlpool to dispel a whirlpool, you will find the Dragon Fang. When you obtain it, Clair will recognize your value as a trainer and give you the Rising Badge and the TM24-Dragonbreath .

In search of Suicune

With all badges in hand and armed with the Master Ball, return to Ecruteak. Next to the Fire Tower, there is a house that keeps the secret of the legendary Pokémon dogs. After defeating the trainers protecting the place, you will finally have the chance to face Suicune. If you opt for a guaranteed catch, the Master Ball is your best choice.

The Johto League and the Elite Four

When you acquire all eight gym badges from the Johto region, you must confront the powerful Elite Four and the champion, establishing yourself as one of the best Pokémon trainers:

1. Preparation in New Bark Town

Start by returning to your hometown of New Bark. Here, it is essential to talk to Professor Elm. He, recognizing your journey and achievements so far, will hand you one of the most coveted items in the Pokémon universe: the Master Ball. This Poké Ball is foolproof, guaranteeing the capture of any Pokémon without fail.

2. The Journey to Indigo Plateau

After obtaining the Master Ball, head to the eastern part of New Bark. You will find a serene lake. Use HM Surf, allowing your Pokémon to transport you over water. On this water route, prepare for battles, as trainers eager for challenges will be on the lookout, looking to test their skills against a candidate for the title of champion.

Continuing your journey, you will enter a cave. This cave, in addition to housing wild Pokémon, serves as the last test of endurance before the final confrontation. As you emerge on the other side, you will reach the prestigious Indigo Plateau, the scene of the final battle.

3. The Showdown with the Elite Four

Lavender City

Towards Lavender : Continuing your journey, head east until you reach the city of Lavender.

Exploring the Rock Tunnel : North of town you will find the entrance to the Rock Tunnel. Before entering, make sure you have the HM05-Flash in your possession, as the tunnel is dark and this HM will help light it up. Once you cross the tunnel, your destination is the Power Plant.

Mission at the Power Plant : Inside the plant, it is crucial to interact and talk to everyone. Upon leaving the plant, a man approaches to talk. After the interaction, return to the Rock Tunnel exit and head west. This will take you to Cerulean City.

Cerulean City and Cascade Insignia

Gym Intrigue : In Cerulean City, go directly to the gym. Upon entering, you will have an unexpected encounter with a Team Rocket member who bumps into you on the way out. Follow him north, talk and get important information.

After this interaction, return to the gym and carefully examine the top left square of the central pool. As you do so, discover an item vital to your quest.

Showdown with Misty : Continuing north, you will encounter Misty, the gym leader. After a brief dialogue, she returns to the gym. Get ready for a battle against your water Pokémon. Winning, receive the Cascade Badge.

Side Missions : After obtaining the badge, return to the Power Plant and give the recovered item to the man near the generator. As a reward, he will provide you with a TM. Back in Saffron City, enter the house to the left of Silph Co. Upstairs, talk to the girl. Then return to Vermilion and speak to a man in the house below the Pokémon Center to obtain the Pokédoll. Return to the girl’s house in Saffron and exchange the doll for the “Item Pass”. This item allows you to easily travel between Johto and Kanto.

Use the Surf move on the lake south of the city, and follow it until you find Gary. After a short conversation, he will quickly leave. Continue using Surf, but this time in an easterly direction, until you find an island with a cave.

Cinnabar’s New Gym : Inside the cave, lies Blaine. Cinnabar’s original gym was destroyed due to a volcano eruption a few years ago, making this cave the new gym. Face off against Blaine and his fire-type Pokémon: Magcargo L45, Magmar L45 and Rapidash L50. When you win, you will receive the Volcano Badge.

After completing all these challenges, all that remains is to capture all the Pokémon so that you can completely finish the game.
