TWINLEAF

The Pokémon Platinum game begins like many other Pokémon versions, with the professor introducing the Pokémon world. In this introduction, Professor Rowan will show you three options, and your choice will be the third. Then, a Poké Ball will appear on the bottom screen and you need to click on the center to release a Buneary.

Now is the time for you to define your character, choosing between a boy or a girl and defining a name for your character and also for the rival. The adventure begins with a news report on television. As soon as you start exploring, your rival will appear in your room, have a brief conversation and mess with your PC before leaving. Your next action should be to talk to your mother, who advises you to go to your rival’s house.

The city of Twinleaf is lightly covered in snow, adding a special touch to the scene. Your rival’s house is nearby, upon entering, he will bump into you before entering again. Talk to him inside the house and head north to Route 201. There, you will meet your rival again, who will try to cross the bush without having a Pokémon, but Professor Rowan will appear and stop him. When you answer “Yes” to Rowan and his rival, Lukas/Dawn will appear carrying a suitcase with 3 Poké Balls.

Now is the time to choose your first Pokémon. The options are: Plant-type Turtwig, Fire-type Chimchar and Water-type Piplup. Your rival, in turn, will choose a Pokémon that has an advantage over yours in terms of types (for example, if you chose a fire Pokémon, he will choose a water Pokémon).

After choosing, a battle will take place between you and your rival. At the end of the battle, you will appear at home, where your mother will give you the Running Shoes item, allowing your character to run by pressing the B button.

Your next mission will be to leave the house and the city, meeting your rival again, who will follow you to a lake where the leader of Team Galactic is looking. After the brief interaction with this mysterious character, sounds of a Pokémon will be heard, although it cannot be seen, and then you must return the way you came.

SANDGEM

On the route to Sandgem, you will have your first contact with wild Pokémon. It’s not possible to capture any Pokémon yet, so use these encounters to train and level up your Pokémon. To get to Sandgem, leave Twinleaf and follow the path to the right, where a boy will give you a potion.

Arriving in Sandgem, Lukas/Dawn will be waiting to guide you to Professor Rowan’s house, where the professor will observe how you took care of the Pokémon and decide to leave it with you permanently. Additionally, you will receive the Pokédex and the last Pokémon in the briefcase will be with Lukas/Dawn. Before leaving the laboratory, Rowan will give you TM 27.

After exploring the city with Lukas/Dawn, return home and talk to your mother to receive a newspaper, which allows you to review recent events in the game. Your rival’s mother will appear next, delivering an item (parcel) for you to deliver to your rival.

Return to Route 202 and talk to Lukas/Dawn, who will teach you how to catch a Pokémon and provide you with 5 Poké Balls. Now you’re ready to explore Route 202, where three trainers wait to do battle.

JUBILIFE

Arriving in Jubilife, Lukas/Dawn will ask if you managed to capture any Pokémon. Exploring the city, you will meet Handsome, a secret agent who is investigating Team Galactic. After talking to him, you will receive the Battle Recorder.

Recover your Pokémon at the Pokémon Center and visit the Pokémon School, where you will meet your rival. Give him the package his mother gave you and in return he will provide you with a Map.

On a path between the School and the Pokémon Center, a man will approach you with a proposal: he will give you a Pokétch if you find three coupons that have clowns scattered around the city. Find them, answer the questions they ask correctly and return to the gentleman with the coupons to receive the Pokétch.

There is a house to the left of the city that is an exit from the city, there you will find a fisherman. Talk to him and you will receive the Old Rod. The city can be left to the north, where you will find some trainers to battle and items to collect. At the end of this route there is a cave, but you cannot explore it at the moment. Return to town and head right. Before leaving town, enter a house where a woman will give you a useful item, the Quick Claw.

When you enter the next route, your rival will appear and challenge you to a battle. He will use level 7 Starly and the level 9 starter Pokémon. After beating him, continue exploring the route, fighting more trainers until you reach a cave. Retrieve your Pokémon before entering.

When entering the cave, a man will observe your Pokétch and give you HM 06 – Rock Smash, which can only be used outside of battles after obtaining the first badge. Navigate through the cave until you find the exit.

OREBURGH

When you arrive in the town of Oreburgh, you will meet a boy who will take you to the local gym, where your rival will be waiting. He will inform you that the gym is empty, as the leader, Roark, finds himself in a mine. In the first building in town, there is a person who will give you a Dusk Ball.

It is recommended that before proceeding, you visit the Pokémon Center to retrieve your Pokémon. Then head south of the city where you will find a construction area. There is a man next to a Machop who will give you a Super Potion. Next to this area you will find the entrance to the mine.

In the mine, you will find mostly rock-type Pokémon, including Onix. Make your way to the left, fighting trainers along the way, until you find a man in a red helmet, who turns out to be Roark, the gym leader. When talking to him, Roark will use Rock Smash on a rock and return to the gym.

Before facing Roark in the gym, be sure to retrieve your Pokémon from the Pokémon Center. Roark has three Pokémon on his team: Geodude (level 12), Onix (level 12) and Cranidos (level 14). If you chose Turtwig or Piplup as your starting Pokémon, this battle should be relatively easy.

After defeating Roark, return to the cave at the entrance to the city, where you will meet your rival again. This time, he’s not interested in a battle. Go through the cave to return to Jubilife City. Now that you have the Oreburgh gym badge, route 207 is accessible. Explore this route if you want to find some good wild Pokémon.

Make sure to teach Rock Smash to one of your Pokémon. Use this technique in the cave at the entrance to Oreburgh to break the rocks blocking the path and explore further. You’ll find TM 70 (Flash), although you can’t fully explore this cave yet. Now, return to Jubilife City.

In Jubilife, Handsome will reappear for a chat. Now that you have your first badge, head to the Pokétch Company to get a new role for your Pokétch. After recovering your Pokémon, head north towards route 204.

At the entrance to the route, you will find Prof. Rowan and Lukas/Dawn being attacked by Team Galactic. Take part in a duo battle against two members of Team Galactic. They have a Glameow (level 11) and a Stunky (level 11), while Lukas/Dawn will have a level 13 starter Pokémon. After defeating them, everyone will leave, except for a man who will give you an item to dress up your Pokémon. in Contests.

Return to Jubilife TV where there are no more trainers to fight. On the second floor, someone will give you a Mask to use in Contests. You will receive a Turtwig Mask, Chimchar Mask, or Piplup Mask, depending on which starter Pokémon you chose.

Now, head to route 204 and enter the cave. Use Rock Smash on the rocks to find an item on the left, TM 39 (Rock Tomb), and the exit on the right. When you leave, there will be more trainers to fight and more items to find, such as TM 09 (Bullet Seed).

FLOAROMA

Arriving in the peaceful town of Floaroma, you are met with lots of color and nature. The first stop should be a house where a Cleffa lives. There, a girl will kindly give you TM 88 (Pluck). Don’t forget to say thank you!

The city is famous for the berries that grow on the surrounding trees. In a house surrounded by two trees loaded with berries, two women live dedicated to these fruits. The first will gift you with the Psyduck Pail, a useful item to help water the berries when you plant them. The other woman has daily generosity: every day, you can visit her and she will give you a berry. Additionally, this friendly lady sells accessories to dress up your Pokémon – very useful for Super Contests. After these interactions, it’s time to head to route 205.

Arriving on route 205, you will find a little girl crying because her father is missing. Team Galactic is blocking the bridge, which will force you to go right, towards the large windmill propellers. In this environment, you will be able to find Pokémon such as Buizel, Shellos and Pachirisu.

As you approach the windmill, you will find a Team Galactic member blocking the entrance. Fight him (he has a Glameow at level 13) and, upon defeating him, you will gain the right to enter the mill. But you need a key to actually get in. Return to Floaroma and head north of town, where a new entrance has opened.

WINDMILL

Entering this new area, known as Floaroma Meadow, you will find two members of Team Galactic threatening an elderly man. Beat them in battle and, in gratitude, the old man will give you the key to the windmill. Additionally, he will also give you a special item, used to apply honey to certain types of trees, attracting specific Pokémon.

Go back to the windmill and use the key the man gave you to open the door. Inside the mill, you will have to face and defeat more members of Team Galactic. When you beat them all, you will see a scientist and a woman with red hair. She is Mars, a commander of Team Galactic and the person responsible for the disappearance of the little girl’s father. Mars uses a Zubat at level 15 and a Purugly at level 17.

Upon winning the battle against Mars, all members of Team Galactic will flee, including the scientist. The little girl will thank you for saving her father, and as you exit the windmill, you will meet Handsome, who quickly goes in and out of the windmill. With the route 205 bridge path now unlocked, it’s time to heal your Pokémon and move on.

ROUTE 205

Route 205 is full of battle-ready trainers. Face them all to strengthen your Pokémon. Halfway along the route, you’ll find a house where a kind woman can heal your Pokémon. Continue your way along this route and you will reach a dense forest.

Upon entering the forest, you will meet Cheryl, a Pokémon trainer who will ask for your help to cross it. Alongside her, all battles will be in pairs, including against wild Pokémon. Cheryl has a level 20 Chansey, known for its extraordinary defense.

Walking through the forest alongside Cheryl offers a new perspective on the scenery, with the shadows of the clouds adding a special touch. After crossing the forest, Cheryl will thank her for helping with an item and leave. As you exit the forest, you’ll find some fishermen to fight. They mainly have Magikarps, but also some Goldeen. After facing them, move forward to the next town.

ETERNAL CITY

In Eterna City, the presence of Team Galactic is notable, with its members roaming the city. The first step you should take here is to enter the house located next to the Pokémon Center. Here, you will meet an elder who will give you the Explorer Kit, an essential tool for exploring and digging for underground treasures in the Sinnoh region, including fossils of prehistoric Pokémon.

As you walk north of the city, aiming to leave, you will meet your rival who will take you to the statue of Palkia. Near the statue you will also see the leader of Team Galactic. After a brief interaction, the leader leaves and his rival decides to follow him. However, before proceeding, be sure to examine the back of the statue. Here, you’ll find a valuable item, the Draco Plate, which increases the power of Dragon-type moves when equipped on a Pokémon.

Continuing your way, you will arrive at Route 211. Although full exploration of this route is not possible at this point in the game, you can collect some useful items scattered around, such as TM 12 (Taunt). After collecting these items, return to Eterna City.

On the way back, you will meet a woman named Cynthia, the Elite Four champion. She will examine your Pokédex and, impressed with your progress, will give you HM 01 – Cut. This Hidden Machine (HM) allows the Pokémon to learn the move Cut, which can be used to cut down trees blocking its path, although you can only use it outside of battles after obtaining the second badge.

Now it’s time to challenge the local gym. The gym leader, Gardenia, who specializes in grass Pokémon, awaits you at the entrance and will talk to you before entering. Inside the gym, the challenge structure is a little different from Diamond and Pearl. Instead of four, you will only have to face three female trainers before fighting the leader. Each victory against a trainer will activate a giant clock, which, when rotated, will form bridges that will allow you to advance through the gym. Additionally, victory over the second trainer will turn off the water jets blocking the path. Once you overcome these obstacles, you will face Gardenia.

Gardenia uses the following Pokémon:

  • Cherrim lv.20
  • Turtwig lv.20
  • Roserade lv.22

Fire Pokémon are particularly effective in this fight, so if you chose Chimchar as your starter Pokémon, this battle will be easier. When you defeat Gardenia, you will receive the Forest Badge and TM 86 (Grass Knot), a powerful grass move that deals more damage to heavier Pokémon.

After winning in the gym, you are now allowed to use the Cut move outside of battles. Teach it to one of your Pokémon and use it to cut down the small tree north of town. This will allow you to access the Team Galactic building.

THE BATTLE OF TEAM GALACTIC

This phase requires careful strategy and a good dose of patience, in addition to being very detailed. Here’s what you need to do, step by step:

Using Cut

The first step is to use the Cut skill. After acquiring the badge, you have the ability to teach Cut to one of your Pokémon. Once a Pokémon has learned Cut, you can use it to cut down a small tree north of town, giving you access to the Team Galactic building.

Inside the Team Galactic Building

Upon entering the building, you will be approached by a member of Team Galactic. But be careful, this is Handsome in disguise! Inside, you will notice two stairs. The first staircase is guarded by two members of Team Galactic, who need to be faced in a double battle. They have 2 Zubats, a Glameow and a Stunky. After beating them, go up the stairs.

Taking X Speed and Facing Another Member

At the top of the stairs, you’ll find an X Speed item. Collect it and prepare to face another member of Team Galactic. Once you’ve defeated him, return to the first floor and this time, take the second staircase.

Second Floor and Two Other Stairs

On this level, there are two more stairs for you to choose from. Climb the stairs on the right first and prepare for another battle against a member of Team Galactic. Afterwards, return to the second floor and before going up the stairs on the left, fight the Team Galactic member who is using a computer.

Two Stairs Again and Commander Jupiter

On the next level you will again find two stairs. First, go right and fight the scientist. When you go up, you will find two items: Splash Plate and Revive. Take these items and return to the stairs on the left. Here, you’ll see Jupiter, a Team Galactic Commander, trying to steal a man’s Pokémon. Face her in battle. Jupiter uses a level 21 Zubat and a level 23 Skuntank. Her victory is necessary to advance.

After Defeating Jupiter

After defeating Jupiter, the man whose Pokémon she was trying to steal will thank you and ask you to visit him at his bike shop. Next to it is an item called Up-Grade, don’t forget to pick it up.

Before going to the bike shop, make sure you have at most 5 Pokémon. If you have 6, deposit one of them and then go to the bike shop in town. When you get there, you will meet Cynthia, who will give you Togepi’s egg, which hatches after 2,560 steps.

Receiving Togepi’s Bicycle and Egg

Talk to the man at the store and he will give you a bike. This bike has two gears, and when you press the B button while riding, it will go faster than normal. This additional speed will be useful when climbing ramps.

Cyclist Route and Route 206

With the bike, you can now go to the cycling route south of the city. When you enter, you will meet a scientist who will give you Exp. Share if you have already seen 35 Pokémon. Then, cross the route cycling downhill and fighting all the trainers you find along the way.

At the end, talk to a blonde girl to receive the Flap. Use Cut a little further to the right and you’ll reach route 206. Here, battle the only trainer available. But don’t leave Route 206 just yet – in Pokémon Platinum, this is the only place you can catch Gligar. After that, return to the Cycling Road exit.

Returning to Route 207 and Facing More Trainers

Returning to route 207, continue fighting all the trainers you find. At the end of the route, before entering the cave, Lukas/Dawn will meet you. They will give you a VS Seeker and a new role for Pokétch.

Exploring Mt. Coronet

The next stage is Mt. Coronet, but there isn’t much to do there. Just continue along the path until you find a man with blue hair who will talk to you before leaving. Soon after, you’ll reach route 208, where you’ll find more trainers to challenge. If you talk to a certain person on this route, you will receive the Odd Keystone item.

The Berry Master’s House

During your journey, you will come across a house with a berry plantation outside. This is the Berry Master’s house. If you talk to him every day, he will give you a Berry. There is also a girl in this house who, if you talk to her, will give you a new function for the Pokétch: the Berry Searcher. Go a little further to the right and you will reach the next town.

HEARTHOME

Upon entering Hearthome City, you will come across a woman named Keira chasing her Buneary. This encounter does not have a significant impact on the game, but serves as an introduction to the city. Hearthome City has a gym, but at first, it is not accessible.

To unlock the gym, go north of the city to the Contest Hall, where the Super Contests are held. Here, you will find your mother and Keira, who offer you accessories. A woman will be standing in front of the Contest Hall; upon interacting with her, it is revealed that she is Fantina, the leader of the city’s gym. After the conversation, she leaves, making the gym accessible.

In Hearthome, you can collect some useful items and Pokémon. When you enter the house to the right of the Pokémon Center, you will find a baby. When interacting with it while only having five Pokémon on your team, it will give you a level 25 Eevee. The house to the right of the PokéMart houses the Pokémon Fan Club. Talk to the old man in the hat to get a Poffin Case, which can be used to store PokéBlocks.

The next step is to enter the mansion next to the Fan Club. Take the elevator and go to the top floor, where a girl will give you the Shell Bell, an item that, when equipped to a Pokémon, restores the PP lost from the move.

Now, with the city explored, head to the gym, whose mechanics have been changed in Platinum. The gym now has a series of doors with blue symbols. To advance, you need to identify the symbol on the floor and then enter the corresponding door. After hitting two doors, you will face Fantina, the gym leader. She uses a Duskull (level 24), Mismagius (level 26) and Haunter (level 24). After beating her, you get the Relic Badge and TM 65 (Shadow Claw).

As soon as you leave the gym you will meet your rival. Depending on the starter Pokémon you chose, your rival’s Pokémon pool will change. Once you have won the battle, you can continue your journey on route 209 until you reach the Lost Tower.

LOST TOWER

The Lost Tower is a structure full of ghost Pokémon and trainers that you can challenge. It also has several items, including the Oval Stone, which can be used to evolve Happiny. Unlike the Diamond/Pearl versions of the game, in Platinum, the two old women at the top of the tower will not give you HM4 (Strength).

After exploring the Lost Tower, continue alongside the tower until you reach the city of Solaceon. With this, you have successfully completed the steps in Hearthome City and the Lost Tower and are ready for the next part of your Pokémon journey.

SOLACEON

The city of Solaceon marks the next phase of your Pokémon Platinum adventure. When trying to enter the city, your rival will appear, but this time, just for a casual conversation. On the left side of town, you will find a house with an orange roof that serves as Day Care. Here, you can leave your Pokémon to level up and breed. Talk to the man in this room to add a new feature to your Pokétch, allowing you to monitor the Pokémon left at Day Care.

In the city center, a man will add another feature to your Pokétch that serves as a record of your Pokémon. After exploring Solaceon, proceed north to access route 210. At the end of this route, there is a house full of trainers to battle. The Psyducks block the passage to the north, so continue right to route 215, then left to reach the Veilstone.

VEILSTONE

In Veilstone, you will encounter some members of Team Galactic, but for now, they are not relevant to the game’s progression. Go to the Pokémon Center to retrieve your Pokémon and make sure you only have 5 on your team. Climb the house above the Pokémon Center and talk to the man inside to receive a Porygon.

The next destination is the gym. On the way to the gym, you will meet Lucas/Dawn. They will indicate that the Pastoria gym leader has left the building and will give you some information before leaving. Inside the gym, you will need to move punching bags to open the way to Maylene, the gym leader. Maylene uses Meditite (level 28), Machoke (level 29) and Lucario (level 32). Flying and Psychic-type Pokémon are effective against her. Beating her grants you TM60 (Drain Punch).

After the gym battle, Lucas/Dawn will reappear to say that the Pokédex has been stolen and will ask for your help. You will find Lukas/Dawn blocked by two Team Galactic members in a location in the north of the city. Here, you’ll join them for a 2v2 battle against Team Galactic. Opponents include two Zubats (level 24), a Croagunk (level 26) and a Stunky (level 26), while Lucas/Dawn will help you with a Clefairy (level 25).

After the battle, Team Galactic will flee to a house. Handsome, an investigator, will appear and join you in following the Galactics. Inside the house, you will find HM2 (Fly).

After leaving the house, proceed south to route 214. You will pass Valor Lakefront, but there is nothing to do there for now. Continue along the beach until you reach the town of Pastoria, which will be the next stage of your journey in Pokémon Platinum.

PASTORY

When you arrive in the town of Pastoria, head to the Great Marsh and talk to the boy to the right of the Safari to get HM05 (Defog). The next stop is the city gym, where your rival will challenge you to a battle. Your Pokémon will vary depending on your starter. After the battle, your rival will come out and you can face the gym leader, Crasher Wake. His Pokémon are Gyarados (level 33), Quagsire (level 35), and Floatzel (level 37). The battle requires strategy with the water level, but it is manageable.

Beating Crasher Wake will give you the badge and TM55 (Brine). Upon leaving the gym, Crasher Wake and his rival will have a conversation before leaving town. In the north of the city, the leader will be waiting for you. An explosion will interrupt your conversation and a Team Galactic member will flee north. However, your rival will not allow you to go that way.

To the east, you will find another member of Team Galactic. After trying to talk to him, he will run away and you must follow him. This chase will repeat twice more before Handsome appears and joins you in the chase. Continue along the route until you reach the Valor Lakefront entrance.

At Valor Lakefront, Handsome will be talking to a guard. Talk to the guard to get your Pokémon back. Head south into the city and find the same Team Galactic member. This time he will challenge you to a battle. His only Pokémon is a Croagunk. After the battle, Cynthia and her rival will appear. Cynthia will give you the SecretPotion and her rival will come out. Cynthia will follow soon after.

Now, return to Solaceon and head north, where the Psyducks block the path. Use the SecretPotion on them to clear the path. Cynthia will reappear and thank you for using the SecretPotion. She will give you an item (Old Charm) and leave. Follow the path previously blocked by the Psyducks. Despite the fog, the route is full of items and trainers. After defeating them and collecting all the items, you will arrive in Celestic.

CELESTIC

In this step, start your journey by visiting the leftmost house in the south of Celestic Town. There, you will receive a new function for your Pokétch called Analog Watch, which replaces the AM-PM markings with a 24-hour clock.

In the city center, you will notice a member of Team Galactic. As you approach, an elderly woman will inform you that someone is blocking the entrance to the cave. Head to the location and confront the intruder. Prepare for a battle where he will use a level 32 Houndor and a level 30 Golbat. When you beat him, return to the old woman and give her the Old Charm, an item you received from Cynthia earlier.

Enter the cave and observe the drawing on the wall. The old woman will approach to share some knowledge when, suddenly, the leader of Team Galactic appears for a battle. Be ready to face a level 34 Sneasel, a level 34 Golbat, and a level 36 Murkrow.

When you win, you will receive HM3 (Surf) from the old woman. When you leave the cave, you will find Cynthia who wants to talk. Then use Fly to return to Jubilife City. Take advantage of your stay to visit the Pokétch Company, where the president will give you another new role for your Pokétch.

Leave the city on the west side and use Surf on the water to access Route 218. Face all the trainers you encounter along the way until you reach the city of Canalave.

Once you enter Canalave, you will meet Lukas/Dawn’s father, who is an assistant to Professor Rowan. It will update your Pokédex so that it shows the differences between male and female Pokémon. Advance across the bridge to the left of the city and your rival will appear for battle. His team will be different depending on the starter Pokémon you chose.

After defeating him, head to Canalave’s gym, where there are ‘+’ and ‘-‘ symbols that you can use to go up or down. Follow the symbols to the top to find the gym leader, Byron. He uses a level 37 Magneton, a level 38 Steelix, and a level 41 Bastiodon. Defeat him to earn the badge and TM 91 (Flash Canon). At the exit of the gym, you will meet your rival again, but this time he will just talk to you and leave.

Heading north, you will find your rival blocking the path to the library. Return to the side of the gym where a man stands next to a boat. Talk to him to board the plane to Iron Island.

IRON ISLAND

Arriving at Iron Island, the first thing you will notice is a man standing, blocking the entrance to a cave. When interacting with this man, he will give you a very important item, the HM04 (Strength), an essential technique for progression in the game. After giving him HM04, he will kindly unlock access to the cave, moving out of your way and allowing you to proceed.

As you enter the cave, you will notice that the inside is just as intriguing as the outside. Continue forward, crossing the interior of the cave, until you find the same man who was blocking the entrance previously. Interact with him once more and he will decide to join you on your journey, becoming your temporary partner during your exploration of the cave.

While exploring the cave with your new companion, you will come across two members of Team Galactic who dare to challenge you to a Pokémon battle. The duo is made up of Glameow, Zubat, Croagunk, Houndour, Stunky and Golbat, all at level 34. This will be a difficult fight that will require strategy and sharp trainer skills to emerge victorious.

After overcoming this challenge and defeating the members of Team Galactic, your new companion, Riley, will express his gratitude in a very special way. He will gift you a Pokémon egg, but remember, this will only happen if you have a free space in your Pokémon team. This egg, over time, will hatch a Riolu, the pre-evolution of the powerful Lucario, an excellent reinforcement for your team.

Once the mission on Iron Island is complete, you must return to the city of Canalave. There, your rival will be waiting for you in front of the library. When you find him, he will enter the building and it is important that you follow him. Inside the library, you will find your rival, Lukas/Dawn and Professor Rowan. They are deeply involved in a conversation about the legendary trio of Pokémon. At this time, Professor Rowan will divide the tasks and you will be tasked with going to Lake Valor, while your rival must head to Lake Acuity and Lukas/Dawn to Lake Verity.

However, the conversation will be interrupted by a sudden earthquake that forces everyone to leave the building. After the earthquake, a man approaches to report that the waters of Lake Valor have disappeared, apparently due to explosives used by Team Galactic.

Now, it is important that you travel to the city of Veilstone using the Fly technique. After reaching Veilstone, head south along Route 213. Continue until you reach the place where Cynthia gave you the medicine for the Psyducks and where you first encountered the members of Team Galactic. At this location, you will notice that a path previously blocked by two people is now clear and leads directly to Lake Valor.

As you enter Lake Valor, you will see several Magikarps jumping around in a dry area. Follow your path, defeating all the Team Galactic members you encounter along the way, until you reach a cave. Inside this cave, you will be challenged to a battle by Saturn, one of Team Galactic’s commanders. He will use a level 38 Golbat, a level 40 Toxicroak, and a level 38 Bronzor.

After beating Saturn, he will reveal that Mars, another member of Team Galactic, is at Lake Verity, which is north of Twinleaf City. With this information, you should fly back to his hometown of Twinleaf. Leaving Twinleaf to the north and heading left will bring you to the place where you heard strange Pokémon noises at the beginning of the game.

In this location, you will find Professor Rowan. He will inform you that Lukas/Dawn is in trouble and needs your help to deal with Mars. Face the members of Team Galactic in double battles and prepare for the fight against Mars. He has a level 38 Golbat, a level 38 Bronzor, and a level 40 Purugly.

After the victory, as a form of thanks, the man – who is actually Riley – will give you a Pokémon egg. If you have an available slot on your team, this egg will reveal itself as Riolu, the pre-evolution of Lucario. With this new team member, return to Canalave and look for your rival at the library entrance.

Inside the library, you’ll find your rival, Lukas/Dawn, and Professor Rowan discussing a trio of legendary Pokémon. The teacher will then assign each of you a lake to visit. While you go to Lake Valor, your rival goes to Lake Acuity and Lukas/Dawn goes to Lake Verity. In the middle of this conversation, an earthquake happens and everyone must evacuate the library. Soon after, a messenger will inform you about the situation at Lake Valor, which has been emptied by Team Galactic’s explosives.

Use the HM Fly to go to Veilstone and then head south on route 213. Follow the path that leads to the lake. In the past, the path was blocked by two guards, but now it is clear. Inside Lake Valor, you will find several Magikarps on dry terrain. Defeat the Team Galactic members who cross your path until you reach a cave.

Inside the cave, you will face one of Team Galactic’s Commanders, Saturn, who has Golbat, Toxicroak and Bronzor on his team, all at level 38 and 40. After defeating him, he will reveal that Mars is in Lake Verity, north of Twinleaf City. Travel there, where you will find Professor Rowan. He will inform you that Lukas/Dawn is in need of help and you must help in a series of battles against the members of Team Galactic, culminating in a battle against Mars, who has a Golbat, Bronzor and Purugly, all between levels 38 and 40. .

After defeating Mars, the professor will suggest you go to Acuity Lake to find your rival. Fly to Celestic and enter Mt. Coronet, heading north until you reach route 216. Inside the Mt. Coronet cave, you will need the Strength and Rock Smash skills to move forward.

On route 216 you will start to venture out until you reach route 217 where it starts to snow heavily. A girl will come over to talk to you and then leave. On this route you will get stuck in the snow, but persist and continue until you reach a house. Inside, a man will tell you that he lost HM 08 – Rock Climb in a battle. Outside the house you will find the missing HM.

When you are near the city, your rival will appear, talk to you and leave. From there, head right to reach Snowpoint. Go straight to the gym in the city center. This gym has a special challenge, where you must destroy snowballs by quickly running over them. To gain speed, you need to start moving a certain distance away from the balls. The gym floor is slippery, which makes you slide all over the area. Make your way to the gym leader, who has a Sneasel, Piloswine, Froslass, and Abomasnow, all between levels 40 and 44.

By defeating the gym leader, you will earn the right to use the HM-08 outside of battles. Now, teach Rock Climb to one of your Pokémon and return to the place where you met your rival previously. There, you will find several ladder-like stones. Use Rock Climb to climb up them and reach Lake Acuity.

At Lake Acuity, you will meet your rival, who just fought Jupiter, who will leave. Now, fly to Veilstone and go north of the city. You will find a large building with a Team Galactic member in front. Talk to him and he will run away. Then Handsome will appear and tell you something. Now go to the house where you got the HM Fly (on the left side very north). Upon entering the house, Handsome will appear again, open a locked door and head up some stairs. Follow him.

You will now be in an underground part of the Galactic base. Continue defeating the Team Galactic members here and grabbing any items you find. You will start climbing stairs until you reach an area where you will find 2 buttons that teleport you to other places. Use the left button. Continue up the stairs and press the next button you find. Keep walking and then you will reach a place where you will find the Galactic Key on the ground. Use the key to open the next door and exit the basement.

Now go to the large building north of town and use the key on the locked gate. Go up the stairs and continue fighting the Team Galactic members. On the way, you will find a button that teleports you to another place. You will be taken close to a scientist. Once there, you will be transported to a location where Handsome will be waiting. After that, you will be taken to the middle of a cluster of Team Galactic members, watching a speech from their leader. After the speech, Handsome will run to a teleporter on the left, follow him.

In this new journey, after a long journey, you will reach a place with three teleporters. Use what is below. Now, go up the stairs and open the locked door to face Team Galactic’s leader, Cyrus. He has a team made up of Sneasel, Crobat and Honchkrow, all at level between 44 and 46. Defeating him, you will receive the Master Ball.

After that, go right and use the teleporter on the right (not the one above!). You will be taken to a dark room. Go forward and enter the next door. In this place, you will see the three legendary Pokémon, Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie, as well as a Team Galactic Commander alongside a scientist. The Commander, named Saturn, will challenge you to a battle.

Saturn has Golbat, Bronzor and Toxicroak on your team, all between level 42 and 44. After defeating him, you will have the opportunity to press a button that will release the three legendary Pokémon. This button is located where Saturn was previously. After freeing the Legendary Pokémon, Saturn will disappear.

Return to the location where you found Team Galactic leader Cyrus and locate a green teleporter. This teleporter will take you to another room. Now, you just need to leave.

Mt. CORONET

First, prepare for the adventure: make sure you have a Pokémon on your team that knows the Surf, Strength and Rock Climb abilities. Don’t forget to also take a good supply of Ultra Balls, as you will have the chance to capture several strong and rare Pokémon.

Start your journey on Route 207, where the entrance to Mt. Coronet is. At this point, you should find a body of water that can be crossed with the Surf skill. After crossing this stretch of water, you will notice that there is a rock wall with a slightly different texture, almost as if it were a climbing area. Stand facing these rocks and use the Rock Climb ability to climb the wall.

Going up, you will reach the upper part of the cave, where you will find an exit. The scene should show pieces of stone or debris on the ground, indicating that the passage has been used recently. As soon as you approach this exit, Handsome, a well-known recurring character from the Pokémon series, will appear to talk to you. He will give you the Black Flute, a useful item that reduces the chances of encounters with wild Pokémon.

After this interaction, continue following the path in the cave. You will meet several Team Galactic members along the way, get ready to battle with them. Each team member has a different set of Pokémon, so make sure your team is well-rested and equipped to face a variety of Pokémon types.

After defeating the Team Galactic members, you will finally find the exit to the cave. When you go outside, you will notice that it is snowing. Head north, using Rock Climb to climb some sections of steep terrain.

After using Rock Climb for the first time in this place, head left and you will find another cave. Enter it and use Rock Climb again to continue moving forward. There are more Team Galactic members waiting for you in this cave. Stand your ground and keep defeating them as you go.

As you exit this cave, you will notice a small staircase. Go down it and you will see two possibilities to use Rock Climb: one to the left and one to the front. Choose the option on the left and use Rock Climb to climb up. Keep following this path and you will eventually reach another cave.

Advance through the cave and be prepared to face even more members of Team Galactic. With each battle, your Pokémon team will gain experience and become stronger, so don’t avoid clashes.

Finally, after exiting this last cave, you will reach the Spear Pillar. This is an iconic place in the game, and it is here that many important events take place.

SPEAR PILLAR

Here, you clash with various members of Team Galactic, including bosses Mars and Jupiter, and even the mysterious Giratina.

Upon arrival, you will have a battle against two members of Team Galactic. Prepare your Pokémon for these fights and proceed by defeating them. You will then find Mars and Jupiter blocking your path, but don’t worry, your rival soon arrives to help in a tag team battle.

Mars and Jupiter will use a combination of Pokémon that includes two level 44 Bronzors, a level 46 Purugly, a level 41 Bronzor, a level 46 Skuntank, and two level 46 Golbats. Depending on the starter Pokémon you chose at the beginning of the game, your rival will have a different set of Pokémon to assist during battle.

After victory, all your Pokémon will have their health completely recovered. Your rival then says goodbye, and you must prepare for a series of surprising events. Dialga and Palkia appear, and three bright lights appear. The atmosphere becomes dark, and Giratina emerges from a black portal. Cynthia, the Pokémon League Champion, appears and watches as Giratina sucks Team Galactic leader Cyrus into the portal.

Cynthia and you decide to follow Cyrus and enter the portal. What you see on the other side is a distorted world unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Cynthia will guide the way, and you must follow her, ignoring the fear of falling into the holes that appear. In one of the areas, you will see one of three legendary Pokémon, indicating that you are on the right path.

As you traverse this strange terrain, you will be taken to several platforms, some of which appear to descend into the strange landscape. Jump over floating rocks, head towards walls that seem solid and be surprised to see your character walking sideways or even upside down.

The game will guide you through this distorted landscape, making you advance across platforms and push rocks with the Strength ability. These obstacles serve as a puzzle that, once solved, leads you to Cynthia, who will be waiting in another part of the land.

Finally, you will meet Cyrus again. He has a strong team, consisting of a level 48 Weavile, a level 47 Honchkrow, a level 46 Crobat, a level 46 Gyarados, and a sixth level 45 Pokémon. Get ready for this difficult battle.

When you win, Cyrus will run away and Cynthia will recover her Pokémon’s health. Next, you’ll finally meet Giratina. This is your time to try and capture him, so be prepared. After the battle, a portal will appear so you can return to your world.

But your journey doesn’t end here. Return to your hometown and head to Verity Lakefront. There, enter the cave in the middle of the lake and find one of the three legendary Pokémon. Professor Rowan will appear to tell you something, and then the legendary Pokémon will disappear. Now, you must head to route 222, which will lead to the city of Sunyshore.

SUNYSHORE

Upon arriving in the city of Sunyshore, you will be greeted by Flint, one of the Elite 4 members, who will tell you about the Elite 4 and the city’s leader. Entrance to the gym will currently be blocked.

In Sunyshore, there is a store north of the Pokémon Center and Mart where you can buy stickers to decorate your Poké Balls. Additionally, there is a beach north of town where you will find Jasmine, a former gym leader from the Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions. She will inform you that the city leader is at the lighthouse.

At the lighthouse, you will meet Volkner, the Sunyshore gym leader. Talk to him and he will return to the gym. In the gym, you will find Flint blocking the entrance again. Talk to him so he gets out of the way and lets you in.

The Sunyshore gym challenge involves solving a puzzle with gears that turn when you step on certain buttons. Each button rotates the gears at different angles, either 90° or 180°, depending on the color of the button. There are a total of seven trainers in the gym that you need to defeat before you can face Volkner, each with one or two Pokémon that use Electric moves, even if some aren’t Electric-types.

Volkner, the gym leader, has a team consisting of a level 46 Jolteon, a level 46 Raichu, a level 50 Electivire, and a level 48 Luxray. Since all of your Pokémon are Electric-types, you must prepare your team accordingly, preferably with Ground-type Pokémon, which are immune to Electric attacks.

After defeating Volkner, you will receive the Gym Badge and the TM57, which teaches the move Charge Beam, a strong Electric-type attack that can also increase the user’s Special Attack.

When leaving the gym, find Jasmine on the beach north of town. Your rival will then appear and, after a brief conversation, will leave the location. Before leaving, Jasmine will give you the HM 07, which teaches you the Waterfall movement, essential for navigating turbulent waters and climbing waterfalls.

With the new HM in hand, you can now continue on your journey. Use surf above where Jasmine was and battle the trainers you meet on the way until you reach a waterfall. Use Waterfall to climb the waterfall and continue your adventure towards the Pokémon League.

VICTORY ROAD

Victory Road represents the final stage of your journey before the ultimate challenge: the Elite 4. This cave is infested with powerful trainers who will test your Pokémon’s strength to the limit. To successfully navigate this cave, you will need to master several HMs – Rock Climb, Strength, Rock Smash, Surf and Waterfall. So make sure your Pokémon are equipped with these abilities before you start.

Upon entering the cave, a labyrinthine path reveals itself. The secret to navigating this maze is simple – always choose the upward path. Continuously climbing, you will eventually find the exit.

As you emerge from the darkness of the cave, you will be greeted by the sight of a towering waterfall. Without hesitation, use Waterfall to climb up, the last obstacle before entering the Pokémon League. However, the challenge is not over yet. Your rival, always eager for a battle, will appear for one last confrontation before the League. Your team composition will vary depending on the starter Pokémon you chose at the beginning of your journey.

ELITE 4

After defeating your rival, you will have the chance to enter the Pokémon League. The guard blocking the entrance will allow you to pass, and from this moment on, you will be alone. Choose your Pokémon carefully – once the battle begins, you cannot return.

The first member of the Elite 4 is Aaron, a bug-type Pokémon master. Armed with fire attacks, you should be able to outrun your team without much difficulty. Your squad consists of Yanmega (level 49), Drapion (level 53), Heracross (level 51), Vespiquen (level 50) and Scizor (level 49).

The next opponent is Bertha, whose team is dominated by Ground-type Pokémon, but with some Water and Rock-type additions. She has Whiscash (level 50), Gliscor (level 56), Golem (level 52), Rhyperior (level 55) and Hippowdon (level 52) on her team.

Flint, who you encountered earlier in Sunyshore, is the next challenger. Specializing in Fire Pokémon, a team equipped with Water-type moves will do well against it. He has Houndoom (level 52), Infernape (level 55), Rapidash (level 53), Magmortar (level 57), and Flareon (level 55).

Lucian is the fourth member of the Elite 4, and his Psychic-type Pokémon could prove to be a significant challenge. Make sure you’re prepared before facing your Mr. Mime (level 53), Espeon (level 55), Alakazam (level 56), Gallade (level 59), and Bronzong (level 54).

Before continuing, use all the healing items at your disposal to restore your Pokémon to maximum HP. Now you are ready to face the Elite champion, Cynthia, the mysterious woman you have encountered several times during your journey. Once you enter the room, you will be guided directly to it. Get ready for the toughest battle of your journey against your Spiritomb (level 58), Milotic (level 58), Togekiss (level 60), Garchomp (level 62), Roserade (level 58) and Lucario (level 60).

After defeating Cynthia, Professor Rowan will appear to take you to the Hall of Fame. Congratulations! But don’t think your journey is over. There is so much more to do!

After victory, you will find yourself back in your room. Your mother will tell you that your rival took a boat from the town of Snowpoint. Go there and talk to the sailor to be taken to the Fight Area. Upon arrival, you will be surprised by a double battle against Flint, a member of the Elite 4, and Volkner, leader of the Sunyshore gym, alongside your rival. After winning, you will have access to three new areas to explore: Fight Area, Resort Area and Survival Area.
