Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – Complete Walkthrough (Step-by-Step Strategy Guide) – PART 01
December 28, 2025| Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Walkthrough – PART 01 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Walkthrough – PART 02 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Walkthrough |
PALDEA REGION
When you begin your journey in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, the game takes you into the Paldea region in a very inviting way, and the first step is to define how your character will appear throughout the adventure. As soon as the initial screen appears, you choose the language and begin to customize your protagonist’s appearance, deciding on gender, skin color, and hair color. Next, you enter the name that will accompany your trainer throughout the story. The game shows some extra screens to confirm everything and even gives you the chance to adjust more specific details, such as hairstyle, hair color, eye shape and color, eyelash type, eyebrows, and even lips. Explore each option until you find a look that truly suits you and confirm when you are satisfied. After that, the automatic save system is activated to ensure your progress is saved.
Once you finish creating your character, an introduction shows important information about the world you’re about to enter. You learn about the school you’ll be attending, meet Principal Clavell, and get an overview of Paldea, understanding how humans and Pokémon coexist in this vast territory. The game’s legendary Pokémon also appears, soaring through the sky until it crashes on a distant beach—a detail that will later make a difference in your journey. When the scene ends, you’re already controlling your character in your own room. Pressing the X button opens a menu allowing you to explore some settings. In the options, you can change whatever you prefer, such as disabling autosave if you prefer manual control, or even disabling special scenes if you don’t like watching longer animations. Feel free to adjust before continuing.
Now it’s time to start moving around the house. Leave your room and go downstairs following Skwovet, who runs down the hallway. In the kitchen, you’ll find your mother washing dishes, and she reminds you that this is your first day of school, making it clear that this is an important moment. Soon after, the doorbell rings, and you must go to the door to answer it. Upon opening it, Principal Clavell appears in person for the first time. He politely introduces himself and mentions that he’s there to organize your entry into the school, which has different names depending on the game version. In Scarlet’s case, you’ll study at Naranja Academy; in Violet’s case, at Uva Academy.
While your mother talks to the principal and greets you warmly, you have the chance to go back upstairs to your room to get your backpack and hat, essential items to begin your adventure. Once you’re equipped, go back downstairs. The principal will call you to accompany him out and officially begin your journey towards your first day of school. Simply follow him out of the house and continue your journey through the Paldea region, which is about to unfold before you with countless possibilities.
POCO CAPE
Upon leaving home and reaching the area known as Cabo Poco, you truly begin to feel the rhythm of the adventure. Director Clavell awaits you outside and immediately introduces the three starter Pokémon that all new academy students are entitled to choose. Sprigatito is a Grass-type Pokémon, Fuecoco is a Fire-type, and Quaxly is a Water-type. Each has its own style and distinct personality, so take a moment to observe how they behave around you. While you consider which one will be your companion, Clavell explains that he needs to take care of something at a nearby house and asks you to go there as soon as you make your decision. Your mother encourages you to take the starters for a walk to get to know them better and gives you your Rotom Phone, an essential tool. By pressing Y, you open the Paldea map, where you will always see the next destination marked, making navigation easier. With the map open, pressing X allows you to access your Trainer Card, a card with essential information about your character.
While walking around Cabo Poco, take the opportunity to collect items scattered on the ground, as they will be useful in your first battles and captures. The starter Pokémon will accompany you as you head towards the house indicated by Clavell. Upon arrival, the three will disperse throughout the area, each exploring on their own, and it is at this moment that you meet Nemona, your neighbor and future rival. She is the student council president, extremely enthusiastic about battles, and holds the title of Champion-level trainer, which is quite impressive. Upon realizing that you haven’t yet chosen a starter, she waits excitedly until you confirm your choice. Once you decide who your partner will be, Clavell allows Nemona to choose hers, and she picks the one with an elemental disadvantage against yours, creating a balanced rivalry from the start. Excited, she invites you to meet her on the beach, where you will have your first official battle.
PRIVATE BEACH
The beach is right behind the house, so follow the path and collect as many items as you find along the way. An important detail in the Scarlet and Violet games is the auto-heal function, which greatly simplifies managing your team. When you select a Pokémon and press the minus button, the game automatically chooses healing items from your bag, always prioritizing those that restore less HP, such as Potions, then Fresh Water, Soda Pops, Super Potions, and so on. This feature is very helpful when you want to quickly heal your team without having to navigate through your inventory.
Upon arriving at the battlefield in the center of the beach, Nemona will already be waiting enthusiastically. The battle is simple, as she will use the starter Pokémon that is weak to yours, and both will be at level 5. Use this fight to get used to the controls and understand the rhythm of the game’s battles. After defeating her, Nemona gets even more excited and suggests another confrontation, but Clavell interrupts her before she overreacts. Soon after, your Rotom Phone receives the Pokédex, allowing you to start registering all the Pokémon you encounter throughout your adventure. With the Pokédex open using the minus button, you see each species as if it were an individual book on a shelf, and the more books you complete, the more rewards you can earn by accessing the menu with X. Pressing the plus button gives you information about the Pokémon’s habitat, making it easier to search for specific species.
While you’re talking to Nemona, your mother appears to say goodbye before you continue on with your new rival. She gives you a sandwich, which will later prove very useful, as well as some potions that will help you at the start of your journey. After this conversation, your mother returns home and Nemona takes the lead once again. She will walk to the school and asks you to accompany her, marking the next step in your adventure through the Paldea region. From here, your journey as a trainer begins to take shape, and each step you take will lead to new encounters, battles, and discoveries across the vast continent that is opening up before you.
POCO PATH
As you progress to the area known as Poco Path, the adventure picks up pace, and you finally get to explore the world more freely. Early on, Nemona explains that from this point on, wild Pokémon will start appearing along the way, giving you the opportunity to begin building your own team. To help you make your first catches, she gives you five Poké Balls, and almost immediately, a Lechonk appears before you. This encounter serves as a small tutorial: you challenge it, observe how a battle against a wild Pokémon works, and learn that during combat, you can press the X button to quickly access a Poké Ball, which greatly speeds up the process. Once you catch the Lechonk, Nemona is impressed and gives you ten more Poké Balls, encouraging you to catch as many as you can as you continue towards the lighthouse ahead.
From this point, you can start battles in two different ways. The simplest is to walk directly up to the wild Pokémon until the game automatically initiates combat. The other way offers a bit more precision: you can press the ZR button to throw your team’s first Pokémon’s Poké Ball directly at the wild Pokémon you want to battle. If it hits, the battle begins immediately. If the throw misses, your Pokémon will simply leave the Poké Ball and start walking alongside you. To improve your aim, especially when you want to hit Pokémon in more difficult locations, such as tree branches or flying, simply press ZL to zoom the camera in on the desired Pokémon; after that, throwing the Poké Ball with ZR ensures much greater accuracy.
Along Poco Path you’ll encounter several common species on this initial route, such as Lechonk, Tarountula, Pawmi, Fletchling, Hoppip, and Scatterbug. Catching different species early on is a good way to fill your Pokédex and also to test different types and moves during your first battles. While you adapt to these new features, it’s worth opening the menu with the X button to learn how to organize your team and items. Within the menu, selecting any Pokémon and pressing Y quickly places it in the first position of your team, making it easier to prepare for battles. In this same menu, you can also access your bag, where all your items are stored, and the Box, which automatically receives any captured Pokémon when your team is full.
Another useful feature in this area is the camera. By pressing the down arrow key, you activate photo mode and can capture interesting moments or environments. The camera can be switched between rear and front with the Y button, ideal for those who like to take selfies with Pokémon around. If you want to make different poses or expressions, press the up arrow key. The left arrow key allows you to quickly change your clothes, and the right arrow key opens a menu where received notifications are displayed.
As your Pokémon gain experience and level up, they begin to learn new moves. If you skip a move or decide not to substitute an attack when it appears, you can still recover it later. Simply open the Pokémon’s summary, access the move menu, and press the A button to teach it any move it has already learned, without needing a Move Relearner. This feature makes it much easier to adjust your strategy at any time.
Following Poco Path as you explore, catch Pokémon, and get used to the new commands, you prepare to meet Nemona again near the lighthouse, where the adventure continues to expand and new possibilities begin to emerge as you advance toward the heart of the Paldea region.
INLETH GROTTO
As you approach the lighthouse, Nemona reappears to check on your initial adventure and see how many Pokémon you’ve caught. Their conversation is interrupted by a loud, strange roar echoing through the ravine, piquing both of your curiosity. Nemona encourages you to investigate, but warns you to be careful near the edge, reminding you that if you fall from a great height, your Rotom Phone will always protect you from harm, acting as a kind of automatic shock absorber throughout your journey. A little further ahead, you notice that part of the fence is destroyed. Approaching, you discover that the trail leads to a cliff and, just below, on the beach, you find the legendary Pokémon of your version, clearly weakened. Trying to approach, you fall off the cliff, but the Rotom Phone saves you as Nemona promised. Faced with the weakened Pokémon, offer it the sandwich you received from your mother; this awakens its energy, causing it to transform and advance towards the cave ahead. Follow it without hesitation.
Inside Inleth Grotto, you follow the legendary Pokémon as it steadily advances through the cave, clearing paths and removing obstacles. At one point, Nemona appears calling to you from the other side, asking you to look for a possible way up, but simply continue following the legendary Pokémon, which will naturally continue clearing a path. Along the way, you encounter some wild Pokémon native to this area, such as Diglett, Yungoos, and Houndour, which begin to reveal that this cave, despite being narrow, is quite vibrant. At a deeper point, a Houndoom emerges menacingly accompanied by several Houndour, but before any real danger occurs, the legendary Pokémon rescues it and takes it safely out of the grotto. As soon as they reach the exit, it loses its newly acquired transformation and returns to its weakened state. You and Nemona talk a little about what you just saw and try to better understand the behavior of this mysterious Pokémon. She registers your contact on the Rotom Phone, gives you TM032 Swift, and encourages you to continue along the road that leads to the lighthouse.
POCO PATH LIGHTHOUSE
Upon reaching the lighthouse, you encounter Arven, another academy student and son of Professor Sada or Professor Turo, depending on the game version. He seems to know the legendary Pokémon well and calls it by name right away, making it clear that he knows more than he lets on. His attitude is somewhat gruff, and without much conversation, he challenges you to a battle, saying he wants to test your skills. This ends up being your first official encounter with him, who also acts as a different kind of rival throughout the adventure. Arven uses a level 5 Skwovet, so the fight is straightforward, especially if you’ve already caught some Pokémon along the way or if your starter is well-trained. After being defeated, he hands over the legendary Pokémon’s Poké Ball, which answers some questions but raises many others. Nemona tries to question him, but Arven dodges and leaves quickly. With that, the legendary Pokémon will now be your responsibility, visible in the Pokémon menu, although it is not yet available for battles.
Nemona then calls you to climb the lighthouse. Enter the building, climb the stairs to the top and enjoy the view: from there you can see much of the surrounding landscape, including the enormous city of Mesagoza, where the academy you will be studying at is located. Nemona also points out Los Platos, a small town on the way to Mesagoza, and explains that this will be your next destination. After observing the region, descend the lighthouse again and follow the road ahead.
SOUTH PROVINCE (AREA ONE)
As you progress through South Province Area One, you enter a vast region filled with grassy areas and small zones teeming with wild Pokémon. Here you’ll find a huge variety of species, from Paldean Wooper and Fidough to Wingull, Chewtle, Ralts, Flamigo, and many others. Additionally, various items are scattered on the ground and are worth collecting to strengthen your early adventure. In the Scarlet and Violet games, trainers don’t automatically challenge you when you cross their line of sight. If you want to battle, you need to approach each trainer and talk to them to initiate the combat, allowing you to progress at your own pace without unexpected interruptions.
If you want to approach Pokémon undetected, simply press the B button to crouch and walk slowly. This makes it easier to start battles with an advantage, especially if you throw your Pokémon’s Poké Ball before the enemy notices your presence. Playing this way, you gain an extra turn right at the start of the fight, which can be decisive. Also, keep an eye out for Gimmighouls hidden around the map; they usually appear near structures and give you coins when you interact with them. These coins will be important later for evolving your own Gimmighoul. For now, only the Gimmighouls in chest form can be captured, and these yield a larger amount of coins, although they only appear later in the adventure.
Despite the abundance of items, trainers, and Pokémon, avoid straying too far from the recommended route at the start, as you still have limited resources and may run out of Poké Balls or Potions. Explore enough to train your team and then follow the main path to the next city.
THE PLATES
As soon as you arrive in Los Platos, Nemona will be waiting for you at a point that functions like a traditional Pokémon Center. Here you’ll find three different services: at the red counter, the nurse takes care of your team; at the blue counter, the Poké Mart allows you to buy items using money or League Points; and at the green counter, there’s the TM crafting machine. This machine uses materials left by defeated or captured Pokémon to create new techniques. It also allows you to buy these materials, but only with League Points. As initial support, Nemona gives you 5,000 LP and some materials so you can experience the system from the start. She also introduces you to the Union Circle, the area where you can play cooperatively with other players.
Before continuing the journey, Nemona explains how Let’s Go works, a feature that allows you to release your Pokémon using the R button so it can explore its surroundings, automatically collect items, and engage wild Pokémon without your direct intervention. This type of battle is called an Auto Battle and depends heavily on the strength and type of the Pokémon involved, so always observe the situation before activating this function. If your Pokémon’s HP is low, it will not be able to perform Auto Battles and will need to be healed first.
Take the opportunity to heal your team at the red counter. Whenever you come to the Pokémon Center at the beginning of the game, the nurse will provide some extra explanations, but this disappears as you progress. If you get lost, talk to the attendants in the area; they will point you in the right direction and even mark the destination directly on your map. You can even mark points on the map yourself, and when you close the screen, your character will look in the direction of the objective, making navigation much easier. Additionally, the icons with a wing on the map indicate locations you can fly to using Paldea’s air taxi service, allowing you to return to Los Platos at any time.
MASS OUTBREAKS
As you explore different regions of Paldea, you’ll begin to notice certain Pokémon icons appearing directly on the map, indicating that a Mass Outbreak is occurring at that specific point. These outbreaks represent the concentrated appearance of many individuals of the same species in a limited area, creating an excellent opportunity for both training and searching for rare variations. When you approach the marked area, you’ll soon see several specimens of that Pokémon grouped together, facilitating successive encounters without having to walk far or rely on luck.
This type of event is especially useful for using the Let’s Go function, since your Pokémon can automatically eliminate several opponents in sequence, gaining experience quickly and efficiently. Simply release it with the R button and let it act. Because Mass Outbreaks bring together many identical Pokémon, the training process becomes more consistent and predictable, allowing you to strengthen your team early in the adventure or even prepare specific strategies later in the game.
Furthermore, Mass Outbreaks are one of the most efficient methods for those seeking shiny Pokémon. Since many individuals of the same species appear in a short time, your chances naturally increase. The most important point is that you don’t need to worry about the “Let’s Go” function when looking for a shiny, as your Pokémon will never defeat a shiny specimen during an Auto Battle. This gives you the confidence to explore the area without fear of accidentally missing a rare encounter. Simply roam the region, carefully observe the colors of the Pokémon, and take advantage of the constant flow of appearances to try and find that coveted alternative shine.
Whenever you see a Mass Outbreak icon on the map, it’s worth stopping by, whether to strengthen your team, collect more materials from defeated Pokémon, or try your luck finding a shiny. These outbreaks happen dynamically and change over time, so take advantage of every opportunity whenever you’re traveling through Paldea.
MESAGOZA (SOUTH)
Following the route that connects Los Platos to the large city of Mesagoza, you’ll find a vast area filled with trainers, wild Pokémon, and items scattered along the way. This region remains part of South Province Area One, so it’s still worth exploring at your own pace to strengthen your team before moving on. On the map, the objective appears as Mesagoza South, and that’s where you’ll find a Pokémon Center located right at the main entrance to the city. Use the map whenever you feel it’s necessary, as this initial section can be quite large and cause some disorientation if you’re not yet used to navigating.
As you traverse the area, pay attention to the speech bubbles that appear above the trainers as you approach. Most of them have a white bubble, indicating simple battles, usually with a single Pokémon. However, some rare trainers display a black bubble, and these require extra attention, as they are the strongest in that area and often use at least three Pokémon in battle. If you see one of these, prepare with your best team members before initiating combat.
Upon arriving at the Pokémon Center at the southern entrance of the city, look for the man in the suit who usually stands right in front of the building. He is a representative of the Pokémon League and offers rewards as you defeat trainers in the area. If you have already defeated at least four of them, he will give you TM082 Thunder Wave as a prize. This same system is repeated in other Pokémon Centers scattered throughout Paldea, so always talk to these representatives when you encounter them along the way, as they help enrich your arsenal of moves early on.
As soon as you try to enter Mesagoza’s main gate, Nemona will appear and take the opportunity to challenge you again, testing how much you’ve grown since your last encounter. She uses her starter Pokémon at level 8, again with an elemental disadvantage compared to yours, and also a level 9 Pawmi, which enters the field as Tera Electric. During this battle, Nemona demonstrates how the Terastalization system works, but only later realizes that you don’t yet have access to this mechanic. Even so, upon defeating her, you receive three Revives as a reward. After that, you enter Mesagoza together, the largest city in all of Paldea. She comments on the restaurants, beauty salons, and shops in the area and promises to speed things up so that you too can Terastalize your Pokémon soon. For now, she lets you explore the city on your own.
MESAGOZA (WEST) / MESAGOZA (EAST)
Mesagoza City is enormous and worth taking the time to explore. At its center stands the grand castle that serves as the headquarters of the academy, your main destination, accessible via a wide staircase visible from virtually anywhere in the city. But before climbing, it’s a good idea to explore every corner to unlock important services. There are two additional Pokémon Centers within Mesagoza, one on the east side and one on the west. Visiting them will make both available as fast flight points, extremely useful for your future progression. Furthermore, there are two more gates in the city, also located on the east and west sides, but you still won’t be able to leave through those gates before visiting the academy.
While exploring, you’ll find various cafes and restaurants offering food that grants temporary effects during your captures or battles. There’s also the Delibird Presents shop, which offers utility items, accessories, and various themed cases for your Rotom Phone. Clothing stores sell gloves, backpacks, glasses, hats, socks, and shoes, allowing you to customize your look, although items like shirts, pants, and ties cannot be exchanged as they are part of the school uniform. Walking through the alleys and less crowded areas, you can find vending machines, various NPCs, and many items glowing on the ground, so search every corner carefully.
In the city center, there’s a woman who gives you special Rotom Phone cases based on the Pokémon games saved on your Nintendo Switch. A save from Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee grants you the Pikachu and Eevee case, Sword/Shield unlocks the Ball Guy case, Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl gives you the Pokétch case, and Legends Arceus grants you the Arc Phone model. It’s a nice bonus for those who have played other titles in the series.
MESAGOZA – TEAM STAR
When you’re back on the grand staircase leading directly to the academy, you’ll see two Team Star members harassing a girl. They’re a group of rebellious students who like to cause trouble around the school and the city. You decide to intervene and fight the first one. Once you win, Nemona appears and gives you the Tera Orb, finally unlocking the Tera Orb mechanic to use whenever you want during battles. With the item in hand, she asks you to fight the second Team Star member using the new feature.
During battle, simply press R to activate Tera Orb activation. The chosen Pokémon takes on a crystalline form and displays a characteristic crown on its head, representing its Tera type. Some Pokémon have a Tera type distinct from their natural types, which can completely change your strategy. Moves that combine with the Tera type gain additional power, making the mechanic essential in more difficult battles. Remember that after using the Tera Orb in a fight, it will be discharged until your Pokémon is healed at the Pokémon Center, where, in addition to healing your team, the nurse will recharge the item.
After defeating the two Team Star members, they flee, and the girl thanks them for their help before continuing on her way. Nemona also leaves, freeing you to climb the stairs and finally enter the academy, where your adventure in Paldea will begin to expand significantly.
ACADEMY
Upon entering the academy’s main building, you are greeted by the grand entrance hall, where Nemona takes the opportunity to show you around the school and discuss with Clavell the incident with the troublemakers you encountered earlier. Clavell reveals that the girl you helped is named Penny, though she remains a mystery to you. Next, Nemona leads you to the classroom, where Professor Jacq introduces you to the class. After a brief conversation, Nemona and another classmate ask you a few questions just for interaction, and soon you receive notifications that some classes are available, but there’s no need to worry about that at this point. When the class ends, you can explore the school, and upon trying to leave the room, two options appear for you to visit: the Cafeteria and the Staff Room. Both locations are useful, so choose whichever you prefer first.
If you decide to visit the Staff Room, you’ll find Nemona talking to a woman you bump into as you leave. Nemona says she’s known as La Primera, an extremely skilled trainer who inspires Nemona to follow her own path as a champion. From this conversation, Nemona encourages you to follow the same path and strive for the title of champion. To do so, you’ll need to challenge all eight gyms in Paldea, earn all the badges, and complete the final Pokémon League assessment. It’s at this point that Nemona introduces you to the concept of the treasure hunt, a traditional academy event that encourages students to explore Paldea to discover what they want to achieve on their journeys. She also adds the locations of all the gyms to your map, officially marking the beginning of the story called Victory Road.
If your first stop is the Cafeteria, you’ll see Arven sitting and researching healing recipes for Pokémon. When you talk to him, he shows you a book about the mysterious Herba Mystica, a rare and powerful herb that can completely restore Pokémon’s health. Arven explains that these herbs are guarded by five extremely strong Titan Pokémon, and that he doesn’t have the skill to face them alone. Therefore, he asks for your help and records the location of the five Titans on his map. Thus begins the Path of Legends, another of the main story lines you can follow.
As you try to leave the Cafeteria, a call comes into your Rotom Phone. The voice on the call identifies itself as Cassiopeia and says she intends to take down Team Star, a group of troubled students. She presents the Operation Starfall plan and asks for your help to execute this mission, although she doesn’t reveal her full identity. Shortly after, Clavell appears and asks you to be more discreet when answering mysterious calls in the school hallways.
Following your interactions with Nemona and Arven, you receive a summons to the principal’s office. There, Clavell initiates a video conference with Professor Sada or Professor Turo, depending on your version of the game. They explain that they are researching the Great Crater of Paldea, also known as Area Zero, and mention their interest in Koraidon or Miraidon. The legendary Pokémon leaps from its Poké Ball during the conversation, and the professor asks you to take care of it. Although it is still too weak to battle, it will be essential as your mount for traveling through Paldea. After that, Nemona accompanies you to your dormitory and explains that you can rest on your bed to heal your Pokémon. Lie down to advance time.
TREASURE
A few days pass quickly, indicating that you have remained studying and adapting to the new routine. At a certain point, you wake up to a general summons to the schoolyard. Nemona appears and invites you to go along to the Schoolyard. There, Clavell announces the official start of the treasure hunt, authorizing all students to leave the academy to explore Paldea in search of their personal goals. He emphasizes only that no one should try to enter the Paldea crater, as it is an extremely dangerous place. After the announcement, Nemona calls you to begin your great adventure.
Speak to Nemona again as you descend the stairs toward the gym exit. She explains how the event works and emphasizes that the map on your Rotom Phone will be essential in planning your next steps. Nemona suggests you consider challenging the gyms to begin your journey toward becoming champion. Arven then appears, insisting you should help him find the Herba Mystica by battling the Titan Pokémon. The two briefly argue, trying to convince you.
In the middle of the conversation, your Rotom Phone rings again. It’s Cassiopeia once more, explaining that Team Star is divided into five squads, each with its own base scattered across the map. She asks you to defeat the leader of each base, adding the five locations to your map. Thus, the third storyline, called Starfall Street, is born. Nemona and Arven don’t like the interference, but Cassiopeia insists that only you can decide which path to follow first. Now, with the three main routes revealed, your journey through Paldea finally truly begins, allowing you to freely choose which story you want to experience before the others.
HORSE RIDING
Once you finish your initial conversation after unlocking the three main story routes, Koraidon or Miraidon jumps out of its Poké Ball and stands before you, ready to accompany you much more dynamically through the vast territory of Paldea. From that moment on, you can ride it whenever you want by simply pressing the plus button. Once mounted, just press the button again to dismount. This form of locomotion becomes essential for navigating the open world more fluidly, allowing you to cover large distances quickly and extending your reach from the very first steps outside the city. While mounted, the B button makes the legendary Pokémon jump, allowing you to reach slightly higher areas. As soon as you mount it for the first time, the legendary Pokémon changes its posture, and Nemona notices that it now strongly resembles a Cyclizar, reinforcing the growing bond between you.
Shortly after, Nemona and Arven present different paths to follow. If you want to prioritize gyms, Nemona recommends leaving Mesagoza to the left. If you’re more interested in facing Titan Pokémon, Arven suggests leaving to the right. Once each has shared their thoughts, they briefly say goodbye, leaving you free to decide. Notifications begin appearing in the upper right corner indicating that new classes have been unlocked, as defeating gyms always unlocks even more content within the academy. However, since these classes involve specific tests and dialogues that become more intuitive when viewed sequentially, it’s worth leaving them for after completing the three main routes of the game. This also applies to the new school locations that become available as the story progresses; many interactions only appear in later stages of the adventure.
What to do in the open-world game?
From now on, the game opens up completely. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet function in a truly free-roaming manner, allowing you to go practically anywhere on the map as soon as you leave Mesagoza. Despite this freedom, the wild Pokémon and trainers found in each area have fixed levels. This means that, although you can explore in any direction, some areas will be too difficult if you advance without preparation. Therefore, the recommendation is to initially head to regions with lower levels.
If you choose the left exit, Nemona calls you, understanding that you’ve decided to start with the gym route. If you go the right exit, Arven calls, assuming you chose to face the Titans first. Both paths are perfectly valid, and it’s up to you to decide whether you prefer to quickly strengthen your legendary Pokémon through Titan upgrades or earn badges that make traded Pokémon obey higher levels. Furthermore, now that you can ride your legendary Pokémon, you can revisit Poco Path, Inleth Grotto, and other areas of South Province Area One to obtain items that were previously out of reach.
In this guide, we’ll follow the left-hand path towards the first gym, as the Pokémon and trainers in this region are slightly weaker than those on the way to the first Titan. The leader of the first gym also has a more accessible team than the initial Titan, making this path more friendly for those who want a smoother progression. However, an advantage of defeating the Titans first is that each victory grants an upgrade to your legendary Pokémon, allowing it to run faster, swim, jump higher, climb, and even glide. If mobility is a priority, facing a Titan early can be a good choice.
Winning gyms unlocks the obedience of traded Pokémon at higher levels and also makes more classes available. Completing Team Star bases unlocks new TMs for crafting. Therefore, alternating paths can be useful, avoiding large jumps in difficulty between routes. The game was designed to allow this alternation naturally, and you will often end up encountering higher-level challenges without realizing it.
EXPLORATION TIPS
Pokémon Centers are essential for navigation. Whenever you enter a new area, try to reach one of these stations first. Once you pass one, it’s registered as a Fly point, allowing you to return to it instantly whenever you want. This makes exploring large areas easier and more relaxed.
While exploring the map, always keep an eye out for the lighthouses and towers scattered throughout the world. When you find them, climb to the top. In addition to obtaining items along the way, these structures also become automatic Fly points, serving as excellent travel landmarks.
It’s very useful to buy some Poké Dolls at the Poké Mart, especially now that you’ve entered the open world. Since there’s no repellent in these games and no control over the levels of wild Pokémon in the area you’re entering, it’s common to encounter creatures much stronger than your team. If you end up stuck in a battle against something impossible to beat, or if a Pokémon insists on preventing your escape, simply use a Poké Doll to get away immediately. The same applies to battles against trainers: you can flee from them. Fleeing counts as a defeat and you lose some money, but it avoids wasting time facing a trainer with absurdly high levels.
The scenery often shows grassy fields surrounded by dirt roads. The grassy areas usually concentrate wild Pokémon, while trainers tend to be positioned alongside the roads. If you want to avoid constant encounters with Pokémon, walk along the roads, which also tend to lead more efficiently to the main destinations in the region.
Day and night make a difference in the game’s story.
From this point in the game, the day and night cycle begins to operate continuously. It doesn’t follow the console’s clock, but rather an internal 72-minute cycle to complete a full day. Each period has its own duration: morning lasts six minutes, midday takes thirty minutes, sunset lasts six minutes, and night thirty minutes. You don’t have direct control over the time, so if you want to catch Pokémon exclusive to the nighttime period, you’ll need to wait for time to pass while playing or close the game and return after about thirty-six minutes, when it will likely be night again.
To find out what time of day is active, simply open the map with the Y button and look at the icon at the top of the screen. An icon corresponding to daytime appears for thirty-six minutes, the afternoon icon remains for three minutes, and the nighttime icon stays for thirty-three minutes. There is also a weather system that can alter the environment with rain, intense sun, or fog, generally lasting between five and six minutes. These changes affect the environment and help make exploring the open world more vibrant and varied.
With these mechanics understood and your legendary Pokémon now available as a mount, your adventure in Paldea truly begins to expand. Each step leads to new routes, gyms, titans, Team Star bases, and much more, all available for you to choose the order and pace you prefer as you progress through the continent.
TERA RAID BATTLES
Once you’re free to explore Paldea more independently, you’ll notice the map displays several star-shaped symbols, each representing a specific type of Pokémon. These icons correspond to Tera Raid Battles, challenges found in pillars of light emanating from crystals scattered throughout the game. When you approach one of these crystals, you’ll see the glowing energy rising into the sky, marking the location where a special battle is about to take place. By interacting with the crystal, you can decide whether you want to challenge the Raid alone, with other players, or accompanied by three trainers controlled by the game.
Within Tera Raid Battles, you’ll encounter Terastalized Pokémon with specific Tera types, often different from their natural types, opening up opportunities for strategic and unique captures. During the battle, you and the other three participants attack simultaneously. The pace is faster than a regular battle, and there’s a time limit to win. Whenever your Pokémon is defeated, it returns after a few seconds, but this reduces the total time available, so try not to let this happen too often. If you want to help your team in another way, you can also use the cheer function, which grants beneficial effects such as HP recovery or stat boosts.
Before entering a Raid, observe the stars displayed on the screen, just below the Pokémon’s silhouette. They determine the difficulty of the challenge. At the beginning of the game, you will find one- or two-star Raids, perfect for understanding how they work. After obtaining three gym badges, three-star Raids will start appearing, where you can find Pokémon with Hidden Abilities and receive rewards such as Tera Shards. With seven badges, four-star Raids appear. When you complete all three main routes and finish the Area Zero story, five-star Raids will start appearing on the map. From this point on, it’s possible to obtain rare items like Herba Mystica and face Pokémon with a high level of challenge. After participating once in the Academy Ace Tournament in the post-game, six-star Raids will start appearing. When playing online, you will recognize the six-star icons as black crystals with a purplish glow. Finally, during certain special events, seven-star Raids may appear, also identified by intensely glowing black crystals with a circle of energy around them.
An important detail is that if you have already used Terastalization before entering a Tera Raid Battle, the crystal itself recharges your Tera Orb. Simply interact with it, even without starting the battle, and your Tera Orb will be ready to use again.
WILD POKÉMONS
While exploring Paldea, you will occasionally encounter Pokémon glowing with a special aura. These Pokémon enter battle already Terastalized and possess a unique Tera type, as well as a specific move belonging to this special type. Since they are crystallized from the start, you cannot capture them immediately. You will need to weaken them until their HP is in the red zone, causing the glow to break and the Pokémon to return to its normal form. Only then can you attempt to capture them. After defeating or capturing one of these Pokémon, you also receive a number of League Points. And if you want to obtain another one, simply return to the same location the next day, as they reappear regularly.
HAVING PICNICS
As the adventure progresses, a new option appears in the menu: the Picnic. This feature allows you to set up a space for relaxation and care for your team, as long as you are in an open area and not inside cities or narrow places. During the picnic, all your Pokémon gather together, allowing for various interactions. You can whistle with the R button to call them, bathe them using the X button and lather them with the left analog stick, and rinse them with Y. This practice helps recover some HP and increases the Pokémon’s happiness. It’s also possible to throw a ball with ZR for the Pokémon to play with and even hide the legendary Pokémon by pressing the plus button if you prefer to keep it away for a while. When you want to end the picnic, simply press Y again.
During your journey, you may also encounter trainers setting up their own picnics by the roadside. Whenever you see one, it’s worth talking to them, as they may heal your Pokémon or offer useful items as a gift.
SOUTH PROVINCE (AREA TWO)
Leaving Mesagoza through the left entrance, follow the dirt road until you find the first Pokémon Center in the region. From there, look around and notice a tower in the distance. Climb it to gain another Fly point, which will greatly facilitate your future movement. While exploring the area, battle the trainers scattered along the way, collect items, and capture Pokémon from the region, which include species such as Smoliv, Maschiff, Tadbulb, Nacli, Tinkatink, Fletchling, Eevee, Happiny, Yungoos, Mareep, Buizel, Drowzee, and many others. You can also find special terrestrialized Pokémon such as Diglett (Rock type), Meowth (Flying type), and Fletchling (Fire type).
GRAND OLIVE ORCHARD
Heading north from the Pokémon Center, you’ll find an imposing mountain. Circle around it until you find a trail that allows you to climb. At the top, you’ll reach the Grand Olive Orchard, one of Paldea’s ten official tourist attractions, automatically registered as a Fly point. This area is part of South Province Area Two and features some region-exclusive Pokémon. Continue exploring freely, but be careful not to venture too far north, as West Province Area One is nearby and its Pokémon are considerably stronger at this point in the game. To the south, the river blocks passage, and even if you find a crossing on the right side, you’ll end up in areas with levels that are too high. Explore only as far as is safe.
When you’re satisfied with your exploration, return to the main route. Your next destination is Cortondo, the city where you’ll face the first gym of your adventure. Follow the map to get there by the most efficient route, making the most of the knowledge and resources you’ve gained during this stage of your exploration.
CUTTING
Upon arriving in Cortondo City, you’ll find two strategically placed Pokémon Centers, one at the entrance and the other at the exit. Visiting both will make them available as fast travel points, greatly facilitating your movement while exploring the surrounding routes. At the Pokémon Center at the entrance, look for the League representative, the man in the suit who appears at various posts in Paldea. If you’ve already defeated five trainers in this area, he’ll reward you with TM027 Aerial Ace. Before heading straight to the gym, it’s worth walking around the city, collecting scattered items and observing its simple yet useful layout.
When you’re ready, enter the gym building. Right away, Nemona appears to explain that, just like in other gyms in Paldea, you’ll need to pass a test before facing the leader. She gives you three Super Potions as initial support and says goodbye. Talk to the attendant at the counter to officially register your participation and receive instructions. The test consists of guiding a large, olive-shaped ball to a basket at the end of a court, located on the opposite side of the city. After noting the location on your map, head there.
Upon arriving at the court, speak to the receptionist to begin the challenge. As soon as you enter the arena, the giant olive appears before you. The objective is to guide it to the goal, dodging the various obstacles scattered along the way. It may bounce or move in unexpected directions, so be patient. Along the way, there are optional trainers that can be faced. If you defeat them, alternative paths open up, greatly facilitating your progress. By pushing the olive into the basket and completing the challenge, you are officially eligible to battle against the leader Katy. Return to the gym, inform the attendant that you have completed the test, and the battle will begin immediately.
Katy uses a team entirely focused on the Bug type. She starts with Nymble at level 14, followed by Tarountula, also at level 14. To finish, she sends out a level 15 Teddiursa, which, despite being naturally Normal-type, enters the battle using Terastalization to assume the Bug type. This means it loses its weakness to Fighting-type moves and gains total vulnerability to Fire, Flying, and Rock. Moves of these three types are her best weapons during this battle. Defeat the Gym Leader and you will receive your first Bug-type Gym Badge, also unlocking the level increase for obedience of traded Pokémon.
As you leave the gym, Nemona calls you to congratulate you on your achievement and reminds you that the Rotom Phone map is now your main tool for choosing your next destination.
Cortando Olive Roll Challenge
After defeating Katy, the giant olive minigame can be repeated as many times as you like. It becomes a fun optional activity and still yields good rewards. Returning to the court, you’ll find a more advanced version of the challenge, now with a longer and more complex course. The olive needs to overcome ramps, navigate tight turns, and prevent you from going outside the fence’s boundaries. If it goes over the edges, the challenge automatically restarts. The test is now timed, and the faster you complete the course, the better your reward will be.
Upon completing the first advanced challenge, you receive 30 Olive Oil. Finishing the course in under ten minutes earns you 10 Apples. Under five minutes, you receive 10 Pineapples. And if you manage to finish in under two and a half minutes, the reward is a B and W Grass Tablecloth, a special decorative item for your picnics. This challenge makes Cortondo an even more interesting place to revisit, especially if you enjoy collecting unique items or enhancing your picnic moments.
With the gym completed and the minigame mastered, you’re ready to move on to the next areas, following the path you desire within the freedom that Paldea offers.
SOUTH PROVINCE
By taking the right exit from Mesagoza, you enter South Province Area Three, a region made up of dirt roads surrounded by large stone walls. Walk slowly until you reach the area’s Pokémon Center and register it as a fast travel point. This initial step is important to ensure you can quickly return if you need to heal your team or escape more dangerous areas. Explore everything around the center, collecting shiny items on the ground and battling the trainers scattered along the route. When you defeat seven trainers in this area, the League representative at the Pokémon Center will give you a Shell Bell, a very useful item that restores some HP every time your Pokémon hits an opponent.
As you progress through the area, you’ll encounter various species such as Charcadet, Klawf, Nacli, Growlithe, Tinkatink, Murkrow, and even Bagon if you’re playing the Violet version. Special Terastalized Pokémon like the Water-type Jigglypuff or the Poison-type Dunsparce may also appear. At various points in this region, you’ll notice ladders attached to the cliffs. They connect different plateaus and can lead you to other areas. If you realize you’ve reached South Province Area Five, turn back immediately, as this zone contains Pokémon of a higher level than is ideal at this point. Try to remain within Area Three for now.
It’s common to get lost in the labyrinth of rock walls in the area. If this happens, follow the signs indicating the way to Artazon or open the map to check your position. Fly is also always available to bring you back to a safe point. Staying on the main road, you’ll eventually find a tall tower. Climb to the top to turn it into another fast travel point.
TITAN KLAWF
With the path planned, mark Titan Klawf on the map as your next objective and follow it to the indicated location. As you approach the cliff, you will see a giant Klawf clinging to the rock face. When you get too close, it climbs to the top, momentarily fleeing. Go around the mountain to the right, climbing the path until you find the Titan again. Now it initiates the first confrontation.
Titan Klawf is at level 16. Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, or Steel type moves are very effective. Choose your initiating Pokémon carefully, as Klawf often uses Block on the first turn, preventing switches. If you prefer, use Terastalization to inflict even more damage. After reducing your HP, Titan flees, leaping off a cliff.
Return to the base of the mountain and you’ll see Klawf breaking through the rock wall and revealing a cave. Inside, he devours part of the Herba Mystica. Arven arrives to help, bringing a Shellder with a natural advantage against Klawf. In this second encounter, you can terastalize again. Defeat the Titan to end the battle.
Inside the cave, you’ll find the Sweet Herba Mystica, and Arven prepares a special sandwich with it. You’ll receive the Stone-type Titan Badge, a handcrafted insignia he created. While you’re enjoying your sandwich, Koraidon or Miraidon will appear, also wanting a piece. Let it eat. Once the legendary Pokémon eats, it gains its first upgrade, allowing it to run at high speed when used as a mount.
Returning outside the cave, you receive a call from Professor Sada or Professor Turo informing you that your companion has regained another of its natural powers. To run, press the left analog stick while mounted. Just be careful not to hit any trees, as a Pokémon might plummet from them into an unexpected battle.
After obtaining the Titan Badge, you can now capture the Titan itself. To do this, return to the very top of the cliff where the first encounter occurred. There will be a Klawf standing there. It’s not gigantic, but it also doesn’t automatically initiate a fight, a clear sign that it’s the Titan recreated for capture. Talk to it to start the battle. The Titan Klawf is level 16 and, when captured, receives the special Titan mark.
ARTAZON
With Titan defeated, follow the main road towards Artazon City, indicated on the map to the right of Klawf’s area. Upon arrival, heal your team and explore the city, collecting the items scattered throughout the scenery. Artazon is known for its vibrant art style, full of Pokémon sculptures and colorful visual effects.
When you’re ready, enter the plant-type gym building. Nemona appears once more and gives you three Ethers before continuing her journey. Talk to the attendant to receive your trial. The mission is to find ten Sunfloras scattered around the city and take them to Sunflora Lawn. The exact location is marked on your map.
Upon exiting the gym, turn right to find the corral with two large Sunflora statues. Talk to the attendant to begin the trial. From there, search the entire city. Whenever you find a Sunflora, interact with it so it starts following you. Some may try to run away. Chase them and, if necessary, battle them to make them follow you. There are more than ten Sunfloras scattered around, so completing the challenge isn’t difficult. When you have at least ten, take them all to the corral to finish the trial. After that, return to the gym and inform the attendant to begin the battle with the leader Brassius.
Brassius uses Petilil level 16, Smoliv level 16, and Sudowoodo level 17. The latter will be sterilized with the Grass type. Use Fire, Flying, Bug, Poison, or Ice moves. Sudowoodo has Rock-type moves, so watch out for Pokémon that are weak to that type. Winning the battle will earn you the Grass-type Gym Badge.
As you leave the gym, Hassel, a member of the Elite Four and a teacher at the academy, approaches you to talk about your motivation as a challenger. He doesn’t interfere much, just reinforces that all paths eventually lead to the Great Crater of Paldea.
Just like in Cortondo, you can return to Sunflora Lawn after defeating Brassius to repeat the test, this time searching for twenty Sunfloras. When you find ten of them, you receive a Leaf Stone. When you find all twenty, the reward is a Sun Stone. Some Sunfloras will be high up in trees; to knock them down, mount the legendary vehicle and press the left analog stick to run until you hit the trunk.
SOUTH PROVINCE
After completing the Artazon Gym, you’ll notice a Team Star base on the map very close to the city, but it’s not recommended to challenge them yet. The opponents there are at higher levels than ideal at this point, so it’s best to focus your efforts on more accessible areas of the region. Return to the right side of Mesagoza and look for passages on the map leading to South Province Area Five, located south of South Province Area Three. This area is completely optional, but well worth a visit, as it has Pokémon at balanced levels for your current team and offers good battles to continue strengthening your team. Explore the area, battling trainers, capturing new species, and collecting items scattered on the ground.
In this area you can find a wide variety of Pokémon, from Nacli, Charcadet, and Flittle to marine creatures like Finizen and Gyarados, as well as many species exclusive to Scarlet or Violet. There are also interesting terrestrial Pokémon, such as Shinx with the Ice type, Flamigo with the Bug type, and Houndstone with the Ground type. Explore calmly and take the time to observe the region’s topography, which is full of mountains and elevated paths. A tower can be seen in one corner of the area, and climbing it is essential to register it as a Fly point.
As you continue exploring, you’ll notice a river cutting through the region, but there’s a strip of land you can cross. From there, the area becomes mountainous, and while exploration is fun, be careful not to descend too far to the left, as you’ll end up back in Los Platos, with no way to climb back up the mountain. If this happens, simply use Fly to return to the tower and retrace your steps in the correct direction.
SECLUDED BEACH
Continuing south on the map, you’ll see a swampy area and, just below it, a secluded beach with a Pokémon Center. As soon as you can, head there to register another Fly point. This beach, known as Secluded Beach, is one of Paldea’s ten tourist attractions and is part of South Province Area Five, meaning that some aquatic and coastal Pokémon only appear in this region.
At the Pokémon Center on the beach, speak to the League representative once you have defeated seven trainers in the area. As a reward, he will give you the Eviolite item, excellent for Pokémon that haven’t evolved yet, as it increases their defenses.
WEST PROVINCE
Now that you’ve finished exploring the southern region, use Fly to return to Cortondo City via the Pokémon Center at the west exit. Near this center, there’s a dirt road leading to the left side of the map. Follow it, and you’ll eventually reach another Pokémon Center, providing another fast travel point.
Continue along the road toward the next Titan. Shortly after passing the new Pokémon Center, Arven calls again to mention that the Titan you’re looking for lives high in the mountains and is causing trouble by sending huge boulders rolling down the slopes.
Following the road, you’ll find a fork. The lower path leads to a cave with Pokémon that are too dangerous for this stage, so ignore that side. Continue along the upper path and you’ll reach another fork, where a trainer with a picnic table is waiting. Take the opportunity to heal your Pokémon before continuing. The path to the right leads to a bridge, but leave that for later. Go left, beginning the climb up the mountain where Titan Bombardier lives.
The area features Pokémon such as Capsaked, Cyclizar, Phanpy, Gible, Primeape, Falinks, and many others. You may also encounter terrestrialized Pokémon with unusual types, such as Buizel (Ice type), Torkoal (Normal type), Jolteon (Electric type), and Altaria (Fairy type).
TITAN BOMBARDIER
As you climb the mountain, you’ll see several giant boulders rolling down the slope. Mount your legendary vehicle to climb while dodging them, because if you’re hit on foot, you’ll be thrown back to the start of the climb. Upon reaching the top, the battle against the Titan Bombardier begins.
Bombardier is at level 20. Use Electric, Ice, Rock, or Fairy-type moves to deal significant damage. If you wish, use Terastalize your Pokémon to maximize its attack. When Titan’s health is low, it will flee, breaking the rock beside it and entering a cave. Now that Titan has stopped throwing rocks down the mountain, Arven can catch up with you and joins you for the second phase of the battle, bringing a Nacli to help. In this second battle, you can use Terastalize again.
After defeating him, enter the cave with Arven and you will find the Bitter Herba Mystica. He prepares special sandwiches with the herb and gives you the Flying-type Titan Badge. While you eat, Koraidon or Miraidon comes out of the Poké Ball again, this time also wanting a portion. Upon eating, the legendary Pokémon gains another upgrade and can now swim, allowing it to explore aquatic areas of Paldea.
Arven finally reveals the reason he is searching for the Herba Mystica. He has a Mabosstiff that is gravely ill and unresponsive to any conventional treatment. After in-depth study, he found clues that the herbs possess miraculous medicinal properties. With each herb recovered, Mabosstiff’s condition improves slightly. At this moment, he regains the ability to open his eyes, leaving Arven visibly moved.
Upon exiting the cave, you receive another call from Professor Sada or Professor Turo informing you that your legendary Pokémon has regained some of its powers and can now swim freely along the waters. You can jump into the water using the B button and accelerate by pressing the left analog stick.
It is now possible to capture your own Titan Bombardier. Go down the mountain where the rocks used to roll and you will find a Bombardier standing in the path. It doesn’t automatically start a battle, indicating that it is, in fact, the recreated Titan. Talk to it to begin the fight. It is at level 20 and has the special Titan Pokémon mark.
WEST PROVINCE
After completing your objectives on Titan Bombardier Mountain, return to the point where you found the fork in the road at the foot of the area and now follow the path to the right, crossing the bridge that leads to the rest of the West Province. Continue along the dirt road to cross an area with enormous windmills, a wide and great place to collect items and capture new Pokémon. Continue until you reach another Pokémon Center. As always, register the location as a Fly point and heal your Pokémon. If you have already defeated at least nine trainers in the area, the League representative will give you the Clear Amulet, which prevents your Pokémon from having their stats reduced by opponents.
Near the Pokémon Center, look for the mountain. There’s a narrow corridor leading to the top, where you’ll find some ruins and a tower. Climb this tower to register it as another Fly point. The surrounding area is great for exploring, and you can even revisit the area near the Titan Bombardier, where there are small caves with Pokémon different from those found on the surface. You’ll also see a large desert in the distance; don’t venture there yet, as the Pokémon in that area are much higher level than your team can handle right now.
SEGIN SQUAD’S BASE
Returning to the Pokémon Center in West Province Area One North, look for a passage marked by Team Star flags. At that exact moment, your Rotom Phone rings and Cassiopeia informs you that you are about to reach the Night Squad’s base. Soon Clive appears, who looks very much like Director Clavell, but insists he is just a student interested in helping Operation Starfall. Cassiopeia explains that the objective is to take down the five Team Star bases, defeating their respective leaders to force them to abandon their posts.
Before entering, you’ll need to defeat the henchmen at the base entrance. After that, ring the bell and prepare for the challenge. You can only use the first three Pokémon on your team, so put your best ones on the front line. Inside the base, Clive explains the Star Barrage system, a combat style where you use the Let’s Go function to quickly defeat the base’s Pokémon. Press R to send your three Pokémon to attack simultaneously. You need to defeat thirty Pokémon within the ten-minute time limit. If any of them get weak, return to Clive to heal them, or use the beverage machines scattered throughout the base. Win the Star Barrage and you’ll gain access to the boss.
The leader of the Segin Squad is Giacomo, a specialist in Dark-type Pokémon. He uses Pawniard at level 21 and the Segin Starmobile at level 20, which is also Dark-type. Fighting, Bug, or Fairy-type moves are very helpful in this battle. Upon defeating him, a flashback shows Giacomo talking to the other Team Star leaders. You receive the Dark-type Star Badge. Clive reappears to talk, and you discover that above the leaders is a Big Boss, a mysterious leader who founded Team Star.
When you leave the base, Cassiopeia calls to congratulate you and explains that without the badge, the Segin Squad no longer exists. She gives you 5,000 LP and unlocks new TMs for crafting. Penny from the Supply Division appears and gives you extra materials to craft techniques at the TM machine. From now on, the base is permanently open, and you can explore the interior to find some lost items. Then, use Fly to return to the Pokémon Center in West Province Area One North. Head up the dirt road towards Cascarrafa, just to register it as a fast travel point, since the Pokémon in the region are above the ideal level for this moment. Afterward, turn your attention to the safer areas of the map.
SOUTH PROVINCE
With your strongest team, you can now visit other optional areas, such as South Province Area Four. Use Fly to Mesagoza West Gate and cross the narrow strip of land that spans the river to the south. Soon you’ll arrive in this new region, where you’ll find a tower on a nearby hill. Climb it to register it as a Fly point. If you defeat at least five trainers in the area, the League representative will give you the Rocky Helmet item, excellent for dealing damage to any opponent that hits your Pokémon with physical contact attacks.
Explore calmly. The area contains many Pokémon of different types, from Tadbulb, Scyther, and Komala to rarer creatures like Sliggoo transformed with the Poison type or Leafeon transformed with the Grass type. Just be careful of the mountainous area on the right, which can lead you back to South Province Area One, near Los Platos. If you accidentally fall there, it will be difficult to return without using Fly. On the left, you will find a waterfall blocking the path. Further north, the river leads back to West Province Area One. There is also a small cave leading to a beach connected to Alfornada, but don’t go beyond it. That path has Pokémon far above your level. If you want, you can explore the southern coastline, now that the legendary Pokémon can swim.
SOUTH PALDEAN SEA
Since your mount can now traverse deep waters, revisiting old areas becomes quite rewarding. Some lakes and rivers that were previously inaccessible can now be explored, revealing small islands with special items. It’s also a good opportunity to find Pokémon that only appear in aquatic environments, such as Finizen, Wattrel, Shellder, Skrelp, Clauncher, and even Clawitzer. The southern beaches also have new species. Take the opportunity to record new encounters in your Pokédex and strengthen your team with different creatures.
EAST PROVINCE
To continue your main journey, return via Fly to Artazon East and follow the dirt road towards East Province Area One. You’ll find a new Pokémon Center along the way; register the location and heal your team. If you’ve already defeated at least five trainers in this region, speak to the League representative to receive the Loaded Dice item, great for multi-hit attacks.
A little further ahead there’s another Team Star base, but don’t go there yet, as the enemy levels are higher than those of the next gym. Before heading to the next town, locate a tower on a nearby hill and climb to the top to register it as a Fly point. Instead of following the main road, which is blocked by the Team Star base, follow the river that flows towards the sea. Following the map’s flow, you’ll approach the town of Levincia, which can be easily identified by the Pokémon Center near the entrance.
NEMONA (BATTLE IN THE 3RD GYM)
Upon arriving in Levincia, take a walk around the city to collect the scattered items. As soon as you try to enter the gym building, Nemona will call you to let you know she’s on her way. When you enter, she’ll be ready for another battle, now using stronger Pokémon.
Nemona uses a level 21 Rockruff, a level 21 Pawmi, and your starter already evolved into Floragato, Crocalor, or Quaxwell, depending on your choice at the beginning of the game. All appear at level 22 and with terastalization of their starter type. Win the battle to receive three Full Heals as a reward.
LEVINCIA
As soon as you return to the Levincia gym and speak to the attendant, the electric gym test officially begins. Unlike previous challenges, here you participate in a live stream by the famous streamer and influencer Iono. As soon as you leave the building, you find yourself in the middle of the Iono Zone, with cameras, lights, effects, and a digital crowd watching everything in real time. Iono then introduces the stream’s special guest, the mysterious Mr. Walksabout, who is actually Director Clavell himself trying to appear anonymous.
The test consists of a game of hide-and-seek using the city’s surveillance cameras. Iono displays an image, and you must locate Clavell in the scene by moving the cursor and pointing the magnifying glass directly at him. Each time you find him, the test advances, but between each round you will need to face a gym trainer to continue. In the first image, he appears sitting near the gym building itself. In the second, he is inside the Pokémon Center, occupying the nurse’s seat behind the counter. In the third and final image, he is on a boat, visible in the right corner of the screen. By locating Clavell these three times and defeating the intermediate trainers, the test is completed, and you can return to the gym for the final challenge.
The battle against Iono requires special attention to Electric-type attacks. She uses level 23 Wattrel, level 23 Bellibolt, level 23 Luxio, and level 24 Mismagius, which will be terastalized to the Electric type. Ground-type attacks work very well against most of her team, but Mismagius cannot be hit by Ground-type attacks due to its Levitate ability. Against Wattrel, Rock or Ice-type attacks are ideal. After defeating her, you receive the Electric-type Gym Badge. Upon leaving the gym, Geeta, the League President, appears and briefly talks to you about your journey towards the championship title before continuing on her way.
SCHEDAR SQUAD’S BASE
Now head to the Pokémon Center in East Province Area One, just past Artazon. From there, mark the Team Star Fire Crew base as your destination and proceed along the road. Clive reappears, explaining that he’s deeply involved in Operation Starfall and wants to help end the problems caused by Team Star. Cassiopeia calls, warning you to be cautious, as you’ve eliminated a base and the other squads will be more vigilant.
Upon reaching the entrance, confront the guardian who attempts to block your passage. After defeating him, Clive introduces Charlos, a Charcadet who used to hang out with the academy students and has a connection to the squad leader. Cassiopeia calls again and reveals that Mela, the base leader, is known for her strength and for leading the Fire-type group.
To invade the base, you need to choose three Pokémon to form your main team. Place those three in the first positions and ring the doorbell at the gate. Inside the base, the Star Barrage challenge begins. You must use Let’s Go mode to face a continuous wave of thirty Pokémon within ten minutes. If your Pokémon need healing, temporarily return to Clive or use the beverage machines scattered around the courtyard. Completing the objective, Mela finally appears for the confrontation.
Her team consists of a level 27 Torkoal and a level 26 Fire-type Schedar Starmobile. Use Water, Ground, or Rock attacks to deal with Starmobile’s high resistance and Torkoal’s offensive power. After winning, you watch a flashback in which Mela talks to the other Team Star leaders, revealing details about the group’s formation and motivations. With this, you receive the Fire-type Star Badge, and Clive reappears bringing Charlos to Mela, showing that even bases have deep personal histories.
Leaving the base, Cassiopeia calls again and acknowledges her victory, reinforcing that Mela’s squad has been officially disbanded. As a reward, you receive 6,000 LP and more TMs become craftable. Following this, Penny appears bringing additional materials and reveals a bit about the past of the Team Star members, explaining that many of them weren’t rebels by choice, but victims of bullying who found no support. She also mentions that there is a leader above all the bosses, someone still hidden behind the organization.
EAST PROVINCE
With the base now empty, explore the area and collect any lost items. There’s an area between Levincia and this Fire Crew base that extends to the river to the north. This region is East Province Area Two. If you haven’t fully explored it before, this is a good time to get acquainted with the area, catch new Pokémon, and battle local trainers. When you’re satisfied, return to Levincia.
At the Pokémon Center at the city entrance, speak to the League representative after defeating six trainers in this area to receive TM084 Stomping Tantrum. Just above the river there’s another area that can be explored later, but now we move on to the next important point.
LEVINCIA LIGHTHOUSE
To register another fly fishing spot, head to the lighthouse located to the right of Levincia North. Simply follow the coastal road until you find it and climb to the top. The lighthouse provides quick access to this part of the region, essential when you need to return here for catches or training.
EAST PROVINCE
Now return to Levincia North and follow the dirt road next to the Pokémon Center. There are no other checkpoints along the way, so mark the next Titan on your map, located north of the city. The road is long, so take the time to observe each turn until you find a new tower. Climb it to register another Fly point, which greatly facilitates returning to the route if you need to heal your team in Levincia.
The region has a wide variety of Pokémon, including Bramblin, Varoom, Glimmet, Orthworm, and several other species different from those encountered previously. You may also encounter terrestrial Pokémon such as the Fire-type Kirlia, the Steel-type Falinks, the Dark-type Pyroar, and the Psychic-type Espeon.
TITAN ORTHWORM
As you approach the location, Arven calls to warn you that the Titan is hiding in the old underground mines. Upon arrival, you find Orthworm partially buried, with only his head sticking out. As soon as you try to reach him, he flees into another hole. Continue chasing him through the tunnels until he corners you in one of the areas and the battle begins.
Titan Orthworm is at level 29. Use Fire or Fighting-type moves, completely avoiding Ground-type attacks, as Orthworm recovers HP if hit by them. If you wish, use Terastalization to deal extra damage. When its health is low, the Titan digs a tunnel in the rock wall. Follow this path to find it again. After chasing it a bit further, Orthworm breaks a boulder and creates a cave, where it devours the Herba Mystica. Arven catches up and joins the battle bringing a Toedscool, allowing for another double battle similar to the previous ones. Upon defeating it again, you enter the cave and find the Salty Herba Mystica.
Arven prepares the sandwiches and gives you the Steel-type Titan Badge. Just like before, Koraidon or Miraidon comes out of its Poké Ball to eat as well, and this meal unlocks another upgrade for the mount, allowing for much higher jumps. Arven feeds Mabosstiff part of the sandwich and watches emotionally as his ailing partner responds positively to the treatment.
Upon leaving, the professor calls again, explaining that his legendary Pokémon has regained some of its former powers. To perform the enhanced jump, simply hold down the B button. A quick press makes a small jump, while holding it down allows you to reach much higher platforms.
With this victory, you can now capture Titan Orthworm. Return to the first location where you encountered it, and you’ll find Titan standing near the cave it dug. Talking to it will start the battle. It is level 29 and has the special Titan Pokémon mark.
With Orthworm captured and another upgrade unlocked for your mount, you complete another important stage of the Path of Legends and move on to face the next challenges of Paldea, growing stronger.
MILLION VOLT SKYLINE
After capturing the Titan Orthworm and exploring the surrounding area, there’s a very interesting spot worth visiting. Use Fly to return to the tower near where you fought the Titan. Open the map and head south, approaching the region’s large river. As you walk along the cliff edge, you’ll find the Million Volt Skyline, one of Paldea’s ten official landmarks. It’s an elevated viewpoint offering a view of much of the lower valley. Once you pass this point, the game automatically registers a new Fly location on your map, making future returns much easier. You’ll know you’ve arrived when the corresponding icon appears on the map.
Now return to the dirt road leading to Titan Orthworm and continue following it. Eventually, you’ll find a nurse at a small, makeshift station with an umbrella. Talk to her to retrieve your equipment. This point also becomes accessible via Fly. Continue on the road and you’ll soon reach a new town.
ZAPAPICO
Upon entering Zapapico, another Fly point is registered on your map. At the Pokémon Center at the entrance, look for the League representative. If you defeated seven trainers in the area you explored before, he will give you the Punching Glove item. Zapapico is a small town, but it’s worth walking around to collect items and take a quick look at the shops. There is also an important person here depending on your game version.
In the Scarlet version, you’ll find a gentleman in the center of town who will ask for ten Bronzor Fragments. These fragments are dropped by Bronzor whenever you defeat or capture them. In exchange, he gives you the Auspicious Armor item, used to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge.
In the Violet version, a lady appears who will ask for ten Sinistea Chips. These chips are obtained by defeating or capturing Sinistea. The reward is the Malicious Armor item, necessary to evolve Charcadet in Ceruledge.
Before moving on to the next objective, there’s one more Fly point in the surrounding area worth noting. North of Zapapico, a little further back towards East Province Area Three, there’s a Pokémon Center icon on the map. Head to that location just to register it. There’s also a Team Star base nearby, but the recommended level to face it is higher than the next gym. So, let’s first head to Cascarrafa City, on the other side of the map.
CASCARRAFA
Use Fly to reach Cascarrafa and explore the city at your leisure. There are elevators connecting the different platforms of the city, taking you from the lower areas to the upper terrace. One of these elevators leads directly to the gym entrance. As soon as you arrive, you see Kofu, the Water-type Gym Leader, speeding out of the building. The receptionist comes out right behind him and explains that he forgot his wallet on the counter. She gives you Kofu’s wallet and asks you to take it to him in Marinada Port. This will be the gym’s test.
Look at the map and you’ll see that Cascarrafa has an exit leading to the desert. Going left, after crossing the dunes, you’ll reach Porto Marinada. Mark the town as your next destination and continue your journey through the desert.
ASADO DESERT
Asado Desert is vast and full of powerful Pokémon. At some point, Arven calls to talk about the Titan that lives there. Although you can face it now, the recommended level is higher, and there are still other gyms and Team Star bases before you reach the ideal point for this battle. If you want to follow the balanced order of the campaign, ignore this Titan for now.
In the middle of the desert there is a tower. If you find it, climb to the top to register another Fly point, making the return to the desert much easier in the future. Continue following the direction of the exit that leads to Porto Marinada.
Porto Marinada Lighthouse
As you approach the city, you’ll find Kofu observing flowers, but he’ll soon run off again. Just before the entrance, stop by the Pokémon Center to mark the location on your map. There’s also a lighthouse nearby. Climb onto it to add another Fly location to your list.
Marina Port
Upon entering Marinada Port, walk to the large market area. Kofu will be there, but before you can hand over the wallet, one of the gym trainers stops you and demands a battle. Win and finally return the wallet to Kofu. An auction is about to begin, involving rare seaweed from the Hoenn region. Kofu desperately wants this item and asks you to participate in the auction on his behalf, saying it will serve as a test to face him at the gym.
He gives you fifty thousand in cash to use in the auction. Two other people will compete with you for the item. Start by bidding low and, when necessary, increase just enough to outbid your opponents. In most cases, you will win the auction paying less than you received, and still have change left over. After securing the seaweed, deliver the item to Kofu and you are free to face him in Cascarrafa.
CASCARRAFA
Back at the gym, upon entering you’ll find Hassel, who introduces you to Rika, one of the Elite Four members. After their conversation, they both leave, and you can inform the receptionist that you’ve completed the test, thus beginning the Water-type gym challenge.
Kofu uses Veluza level 29, Wugtrio level 29, and Crabominable level 30, the latter using Terastalization to become a Water type. Electric and Grass attacks are best against his team. Veluza also has an additional weakness to Bug, Ghost, and Dark type moves. Avoid using Fire-type Pokémon against Crabominable, as Terastalization removes its Ice weakness. Defeating the Gym Leader will reward you with the Water-type Gym Badge.
As you leave, Nemona appears, but regrets not being able to duel you now because she hasn’t faced that gym yet. She promises to return later.
Marina Port
From now on, it’s worth visiting Porto Marinada daily. The city has three auctions a day, offering a wide variety of items, from materials for crafting TMs to rare items used for evolutions or special form changes. The lots usually come in packages. The auction starts with low bids, but gradually you should be able to outbid your opponents.
If you own certain specific Pokémon, a special fourth auction may appear, offering the item needed for those creatures to change form. Therefore, always check back and see the daily events.
NAVI SQUAD’S BASE
To advance the Team Star storyline, you must return to East Province Area Three, using one of the Pokémon Centers near Zapapico as a reference point. Mark the Poison Squad’s base on the map and head there. As you approach, Clive reappears, saying he needs to gather more information about the students who are part of Team Star.
At the base gate, a boy argues with one of the team members, insisting on seeing the leader. As soon as you try to intervene, the Team Star member runs away, and the boy, wanting to prove something, tries to stop you from going after him. After a brief battle, Clive approaches and discovers that the boy isn’t part of Team Star, but was a personal friend of Atticus and is worried about what might happen to him. He decides to talk to the boy while you continue your mission.
Cassiopeia then calls, explaining more about Atticus, leader of the Poison Squad. Since this base focuses on toxic moves, it’s recommended to leave Pecha Berries with your Pokémon to avoid being repeatedly poisoned. Before ringing the doorbell and starting the invasion, select the three Pokémon you want to use during the challenge and place them in the first positions of your team.
Once inside, start sending out your Pokémon in Let’s Go mode to defeat thirty enemies within the ten-minute time limit. If you need to heal your Pokémon, look for the beverage machines scattered around the base. By meeting the time limit and defeating the required number of opponents, you will finally gain access to the boss.
Atticus enters the field with a strong team: Skuntank level 32, Muk level 32, Revavroom level 33, and Navi Starmobile level 32, all prepared to inflict status and withstand direct hits. Ground or psychic attacks are the most effective, while fire attacks can be useful against Revavroom. After defeating him, a flashback shows Atticus conversing with the other Team Star bosses in the past. You receive the Poison Star Badge.
Clive returns with the little boy, revealing that the two were great friends and that he feared Atticus would be expelled from school for being involved with Team Star. Atticus explains that none of the chiefs know the Big Boss; they only carry out their duties at the bases, waiting for their true leader to appear.
Upon leaving the base, Cassiopeia calls again to congratulate you on your victory. She confirms that the Navi Squad is officially disbanded and reveals her true plan: to defeat the Big Boss of Team Star. She rewards you with seven thousand LP and unlocks more TMs for crafting. Penny then appears bringing additional materials, explaining that she will always help whenever you dismantle a base.
TAGTREE THICKET
Atticus’s base is located within Tagtree Thicket, a dense forest full of narrow paths. Explore the area by collecting items, battling trainers, and observing the Pokémon that live there, such as Shroodle, Grafaiai, Impidimp, and Mimikyu. Crossing the river, you’ll find a small clearing with only one trainer, but there’s no way to advance further north as a cliff blocks the path. Ideally, return to the forest entrance and head left to continue your journey.
DALIZAPA PASSAGE
Your next objective is Medali, the city with the next gym. To get there, return to the Zapapico West area and follow the dirt road to the fork. The left path leads to Glaseado Mountain, but you should take the right one, which leads to a huge tunnel known as Dalizapa Passage.
Inside the passage, there’s an open section housing a Pokémon Center. Be sure to log the location as Fly. If you defeat four trainers from the region, the League representative will give you the Expert Belt. Continue through the tunnel and you’ll eventually emerge directly in Medalli City.
MEDALI
Upon arriving, explore the streets and collect all available items. When you enter the gym, Nemona reappears, saying she wanted to battle you sooner but was late. She asks if she can battle later and suggests challenging the Normal-type Gym Leader while you wait.
This gym’s test is more investigative. You must discover the secret dish at the Treasure Eatery restaurant. To do this, the waiter explains that three other challengers have received different clues. You must find them around town, defeat them in battle, and then talk to each one again to get the clues. Your own clue involves observing how the customers season their dishes.
While walking through the city, look for people with speech bubbles above their heads. A trainer near the gym talks about a dark spot surrounded by stairs; going down the stairs, you’ll find a dark door with the word Fire Blast written on it. Another trainer mentions something strange at the ice cream stand; examine the stand to the right near the Pokémon Center Medallion East and see that the last item is Grilled Rice Balls. A third challenger tells you to listen to what the man with the blue Squawkabilly on his head is saying; he repeats the word Medium. Finally, inside the restaurant is a man in a suit who reveals the condiment used by customers: lemon.
With the four pieces of information, speak to the waiter at the entrance and place your exact order: Grilled Rice Ball, Medium Serving, Extra Crispy Fire Blast Style, and Lemon. As soon as you confirm the order, the restaurant transforms into a battlefield, signaling that you passed the test.
Speak to the waiter again and finally face Larry, the Normal-type Gym Leader. He uses a level 35 Komala, a level 35 Dudunsparce, and a level 36 Staraptor transformed into a Normal-type. Fighting-type attacks are ideal, but be careful with Staraptor, which, despite becoming Normal-type, still possesses an extremely dangerous Flying-type move against Fighting-types. Winning the battle will earn you the Normal-type Gym Badge.
Shortly after, Geeta appears to congratulate you. Nemona joins the two, and Geeta reveals that she is the Top Champion of Paldea, above all other Champion-level trainers, including Nemona.
BATTLE WITH NEMONA
Upon leaving the gym, Nemona immediately asks for the promised battle. Geeta heals her Pokémon before the confrontation.
Nemona uses Lycanroc level 36, Goomy level 36, Pawmo level 36, and her evolved starter at level 37, terastalized according to its original type. Defeat her and Geeta will give you TM171 Tera Blast, a move that adapts to the user’s Tera type and switches between physical and special attack depending on the Pokémon’s highest value.
MEDALI
Upon returning to the Treasure Eatery restaurant in Medalli, you’ll find an extremely useful new feature to optimize your team: the cook offers the possibility of changing the Tera type of any of your Pokémon. To do this, simply speak to her and give her fifty Tera Shards corresponding to the type you wish to apply. These shards can be found scattered throughout Paldea, although in small quantities. The most consistent way to obtain them is by participating in three-star or higher Tera Raid Battles, which usually reward a good number of shards of various types. Upon handing over the fifty shards, the cook immediately changes the Tera type of the chosen Pokémon, allowing you to build more powerful and customized strategies.
WEST PROVINCE
With that done, it’s worth exploring the region surrounding Medalli, facing the area’s trainers, capturing different Pokémon, and strengthening your team for the next gym. This part of West Province Area Three forms a large territory surrounded by rivers. Explore only the inner area, as any river crossing will take you to higher-level zones or routes that don’t make sense to investigate right now.
There is a wide variety of Pokémon here, including Fidough, Greavard, Tropius, Sudowoodo, Bronzong, several members of the Eevee family, Gogoat, Breloom, Ursaring, Jigglypuff, various aquatic species in the small lakes, and even a terrestrialized Fairy-type Altaria. After exploring the entire area, return to the Pokémon Center Medalli East. Talk to the League representative: if you have defeated nine trainers in this region, he will give you the Amulet Coin item, excellent for doubling your earnings in each battle.
If you cross the river to the left, you’ll reach West Province Area Two, which reconnects Cascarrafa and Asado Desert, but it’s not the ideal time to go that way yet. Leave that side for later. Also ignore the area above the river, as the enemies there are at higher levels. The best option now is to follow the right side of the map, starting the climb up the ice mountain via the path known as Glaseado Mountain Path.
GLASEADO’S GRASP
As you approach the snowy region, open the map and find the nearest Pokémon Center to register it. Once you’ve located it, go down a bit on the map to find a unique cliff called Glaseado’s Grasp. It’s one of Paldea’s ten official landmarks and stands out for its curious shape on the map, resembling a hand with three fingers. Passing directly through the center of this area will register a new Fly point, allowing you to return here whenever you want. With that done, continue climbing the mountain until you see the city of Montenevera.
MONTENEVERA
Montenevera is a cold city, illuminated by colorful lights and filled with sculptures and decorations related to ghosts. After exploring the place and collecting your items, enter the gym building. Inside, Professor Jacq appears to check on your journey and gives you the Lucky Egg, one of the most valuable items in the game. When held by a Pokémon, it significantly increases the experience points received, accelerating its evolution and preparation for future battles.
Speak to the attendant to begin the test. The ghost gym requires you to participate in a sequence of three double battles, all consecutive and without interruption. Outside, there is a lit stage where the audience gathers. MC Sledge, with his hat and long hair, signals the start of the battles. During the battles, each action that impresses the audience, such as defeating a Pokémon, landing a critical hit, or using Tera Orb, generates a response from the audience that increases your team’s stats. Between each round, your Pokémon are automatically healed and your Tera Orb is recharged. Upon defeating the three trainers, Ryme, the gym leader, appears after a rap performance.
After informing the receptionist that you’ve completed the test, you can now face her. Ryme uses Banette level 41, Mimikyu level 41, Houndstone level 41, and Toxtricity level 42, transformed into a Ghost-type. Ghost and Dark-type moves are best against her team. Just be careful with Mimikyu, which only takes true damage after its Disguise ability is broken, and remember that Toxtricity loses its Psychic weakness when it becomes a Ghost-type. Winning the battle earns you the Ghost Gym Badge. As you leave, Hassel appears, excited by your performance and eager to see you again in the upcoming Elite Four battle.
COLONNADE HOLLOW
After Montenevera, return to Medalli. Follow the left side of the city, crossing the river, and you’ll enter West Province Area Two. While exploring this area, you’ll find a natural corridor formed by large stone columns. This location is Colonnade Hollow, another of Paldea’s tourist attractions. As you traverse the corridor, explore the surroundings, battle trainers, and collect items. Upon exiting the tunnel, the game automatically registers another Fly point.
WEST PROVINCE
Now that you’ve been here before, it’s worth fully exploring this area between Medalli and Porto Marinada. This stretch extends to the beginning of the desert to the south. Avoid crossing the river to the north, as the enemies there are at high levels. Defeat the local trainers and, when you get close to the Pokémon Center near the entrance to Porto Marinada, talk to the League representative. If you defeat four trainers, you’ll receive the Focus Sash item, extremely useful for preventing a Pokémon from being knocked out by fatal damage.
TITAN GREAT TUSK / IRON TREADS
When the time comes to face the next Titan in the Path of Legends, you must return to the Asado Desert. If you have already registered the tower located in this area, simply use Fly to quickly reach it. If this is your first time crossing the desert, as you approach the location where the Titan lives, Arven calls, commenting that it tends to cause tremors whenever it moves. Mark the Titan on the map and advance until you find the colossal creature walking freely across the dunes.
If you’re playing Scarlet, the Titan will be Great Tusk, a prehistoric Pokémon with an extremely aggressive appearance. If you’re playing Violet, you’ll see Iron Treads, a creature with a futuristic and mechanical look. Upon approaching, Professor Sada or Professor Turo will contact you, explaining that this Pokémon came directly from the Great Crater of Paldea and that you need to stop it before it causes even more chaos in the desert.
The Titan Great Tusk, or Iron Treads, appears at level 45. To defeat Great Tusk, Water, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, or Fairy attacks work very well. Against Iron Treads, the best types are Water, Fire, Ground, or Fighting. As with all Titans, feel free to use Terastalization if you want to increase your offensive power. When its life is almost depleted, the Titan will flee by digging into the ground and reappear in another area of the desert. It is enormous, so it will be easy to locate it again by looking around.
Upon reaching it for the second time, the Titan charges against the rocky wall of a nearby hill, opening access to a cave where you will find a Herba Mystica. Just like in previous encounters, Arven appears at that exact moment to help, initiating a double battle with you in the style of Titan Raids. This time, he uses a Scovillain, an ally with a type advantage to make the confrontation easier. As always, your terastalization is recharged and can be used again in this second battle.
After defeating the Titan for the second time, follow Arven into the cave. There you’ll find the Sour Herba Mystica. Arven prepares special sandwiches and gives you the Ground-type Titan Badge. While you’re enjoying your snack, Koraidon or Miraidon immediately jumps out of its Poké Ball wanting a piece too. Arven offers another piece to Mabosstiff, who is getting closer to a full recovery.
As soon as the legendary Titan eats, it unlocks another of its powers, now being able to fly. Arven then begins to question why the legendary Titan still can’t assume its battle form and hypothesizes that it might be traumatized by something related to the past. Mabosstiff, this time, doesn’t show immediate improvement, but Arven insists they continue, as they are already close to the last Titan.
Upon exiting the cave, Sada or Turo calls again, explaining how the new power works. To fly, jump with the B button and press B again in the air. The legendary Pokémon enters gliding mode, allowing it to travel long distances in the air. It’s worth remembering that this flight always descends gradually, so it’s best to start jumping from elevated locations such as cliffs and mountains.
While still in the desert, take the opportunity to battle all the remaining trainers. Once you’ve defeated at least six, head to Cascarrafa North and speak to the League representative at the Pokémon Center. He will reward you with TM149 Earthquake, one of the strongest Ground-type moves in the game.
The Asado Desert is teeming with interesting Pokémon, including Rellor, Cacnea, Donphan, Hippowdon, Capsakid, Larvesta, and many others. Terastalized Pokémon such as the Grass-type Sandygast and the Flying-type Cyclizar may also appear.
With Titan defeated, you can also capture it. Return to the location where you first encountered Great Tusk or Iron Treads. It will be standing in the center of the desert, ready for a final battle. It remains at level 45 and has the special Titan Pokémon mark, making it unique.
