Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – Complete Walkthrough (Step-by-Step Strategy Guide) – PART 02
December 28, 2025| Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Walkthrough – PART 01 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Walkthrough – PART 02 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Walkthrough |
ALFORNADA CAVERN
To reach Alfornada Cavern, use Fly to the Pokémon Center in West Province Area One Central. From there, head left, just as if you were going back towards the mountain where you faced Titan Bombardier. When you reach the fork that usually leads north, go down the path that goes south. Shortly after, you will find the entrance to a cave full of rocky platforms scattered at different heights. Here, to advance, it is essential to use your legendary Pokémon’s jumps well, climbing the rock formations as you ascend through the cave.
Navigating this area is like climbing a vertical maze. Jump from stone to stone, face the trainers you encounter along the way, and always strive for the highest points. When you feel lost, look for the lit torches on the walls. They indicate the correct path and lead to the exit at the top of the cave. During the climb, you’ll encounter Pokémon like Glimmet, draconic creatures like Gible, Bagon, and Deino, as well as various fighting types like Makuhita and Medicham. You might also encounter terrestrial Pokémon like Umbreon (Dark type) and Houndoom (Ghost type).
SOUTH PROVINCE AREA SIX
Upon exiting the top of the cave, you arrive at South Province Area Six, a vast region full of interconnected routes. There’s a nearby town called Alfornada. If you wish, you can head straight there to unlock the Fly point, but it’s worth exploring beforehand. This area is home to interesting Pokémon such as Espathra, Gogoat, Gothitelle, Flareon, Dreepy, Houndstone, and even a terastalized Dragonair with the Electric type. Battle the local trainers to strengthen your team before proceeding with the story.
Leaking Tower of Paldea
Before heading to the gym, stop by one of Paldea’s landmarks. On the map, a little north of Alfornada, there’s a small lake with an island in the center. On that island is the Leaking Tower of Paldea, a tower positioned high above a waterfall. Go there, climb to the top, and score another Fly point. The view from here is very beautiful and will also make future navigation of the area easier.
Once you’ve finished exploring, return to the Alfornada Pokémon Center. If you’ve defeated at least seven trainers in the region, the League representative there will give you TM165 Flare Blitz as a reward.
BATTLE WITH NEMONA
Before starting the gym challenge, enter the building and you’ll be surprised by another battle against Nemona. She uses Lycanroc level 42, Sliggoo level 42, Pawmot level 42 and her evolved starter at level 43, terastalized to its original type. Win the battle and she will give you three Max Potions as a gift.
BAKED
After the battle against Nemona, speak to the receptionist to begin the gym test. The challenge consists of participating in the so-called emotional spectrum practice, led by Dendra, one of the school’s teachers and a friend of Tulip, the gym leader. Leaving the building, turn left and you will find the field where the activity takes place.
Dendra explains that you must reproduce emotional expressions in a few seconds by pressing the correct button. The list includes anger (X), excitement (Y), joy (A), and surprise (B). A small guide in the lower right corner of the screen helps you remember the button correspondences. The test takes place in two rounds of this minigame, interspersed with battles against trainers. When you complete the stages, return to the gym to inform them that you are ready to face Tulip.
Tulip uses level 41 Farigiraf, level 41 Gardevoir, level 41 Espathra, and level 42 Terastalized Florges as Psychic-type Pokémon. Ghost or Dark-type moves are the best choices. Against Gardevoir specifically, Steel and Poison attacks also work very well. Just be careful with Florges, which, despite becoming Psychic-type with Terastalization, still has Fairy-type moves, which can be dangerous if you’re betting everything on a Dark-type Pokémon. Defeat Tulip to receive the Psychic-type Gym Badge.
As you leave the gym, you encounter Rika, accompanied by a little girl named Poppy. To your surprise, they are both part of the Elite Four and are already interested in how much you’ve grown as a trainer.
After defeating Tulip, return to the field where you took the test. Now you can repeat the challenge as many times as you want, in two different modes. Standard mode allows you to repeat if you make a mistake, as long as you still have time. Knockout mode works as an elimination game: you continue until you make a mistake. As you progress, higher difficulty levels are unlocked and the commands require increasingly faster responses. Upon completing the challenges, you receive various berries, with better rewards depending on the difficulty chosen.
SOUTH PROVINCE
After exploring Alfornada, open your map and look at the area to the right of the city. Following the dirt road that winds up the mountain, you’ll reach a crystal-clear lake with a stunning waterfall. Carefully descend through the landscape surrounding the waterfall, using your legendary vehicle’s jumps to navigate the uneven terrain, until you reach South Province Area Four again. This alternate route offers new perspectives of the region and opportunities for unexpected encounters.
MOUNTAIN GLAZE
To access the icy region, use Fly to Zapapico West. Follow the main road to the fork and choose the left path, which ascends towards Glaseado Mountain. As you progress, the weather becomes progressively colder and the terrain turns into compacted snow. Continue climbing as far as the terrain allows, encountering resilient trainers who brave the harsh climate. During the climb, you will find Pokémon adapted to the frigid environment such as Cetoddle, Snom, Crabrawler, and Abomasnow, as well as terastalized species like the Dark-type Frigibax and the Ice-type Glaceon. Keep Fire- or Fighting-type Pokémon on hand to deal with local threats.
PALDEA’S HIGHEST PEAK
In the lighter region of the Glaseado Mountain map, you’ll find the summit of Paldea. Navigate the snowy slopes, overcoming ravines and unstable platforms, until you reach this landmark. Upon arrival, immediately register your Fly point for future access. The panoramic view is breathtaking, and rare Pokémon such as the Rock-type Avalugg or the Normal-type Veluza can be spotted in the immediate vicinity of the summit.
MOUNTAIN GLAZE
The Ice Gym is located on a high mountain plateau near the local Pokémon Center. Before challenging the Gym Leader, speak with the League representative at the Pokémon Center. If you have defeated at least ten trainers in the area, they will give you TM143 Blizzard. Upon entering the Gym building, Nemona will appear to encourage you before you leave. The test consists of descending the snow track riding Koraidon/Miraidon in under 90 seconds. Exit the Gym, go up to the Pokémon Center, and locate the attendant near the start of the track. Slide between the marker flags, maintaining precise control to avoid skidding. Once you complete the course, return to face Grusha.
Grusha uses level 47 Frosmoth, level 47 Beartic, level 47 Cetitan, and a level 48 Terrastalized Altaria as Ice-type Pokémon. Effective strategies include fire-type moves against Beartic and Cetitan, while steel or rock attacks neutralize Altaria even after its transformation. Pay special attention to Altaria’s fairy-type move, which can surprise Fighting-type Pokémon. With the victory, you receive the Ice Gym Badge. Upon leaving, Nemona and Geeta congratulate you, confirming that with eight badges you are qualified to challenge the Pokémon League in Mesagoza.
Glazed Snowslope Run
After defeating Grusha, return to the snow track to repeat the challenge across three progressive courses. In the Powder Snow Course, avoid mistakes at the flags to avoid accumulating 5-second penalties. Completing within the time limit earns you Never Melt Ice on your first attempts and Fresh Water on subsequent ones. The Blizzard Course introduces obstacles like sliding Glalies and rewards you with an Ice Stone initially and a Soda Pop later. The Sheer Cold Course demands maximum precision and offers a Comet Shard on the first completion, followed by vitamins as a recurring reward.
NORTH PROVINCE
Fly to the leftmost Pokémon Center on Montenevera on the map and chart a course to the Pokémon Center to the north. Explore this transitional area between mountains and plains, battling trainers and collecting items while observing Pokémon such as Copperajah, Vespiquen, and Fairy-type terastalized Sylveon. The landscape mixes residual snow with reborn vegetation, indicating its proximity to Team Star’s base.
RUCHBAH SQUAD’S BASE
As you approach the base, Clive will appear to comment on Cassiopeia. At the gate, an elderly man speaks with a team member, revealing himself to be the former director of the academy and tutor of Ortega, the leader. Noticing his presence, he challenges him. After defeating him, the gate opens and Cassiopeia calls to provide context about Ortega, the youngest of the leaders. Select three Pokémon for the attack, positioning them in front of the team, and ring the doorbell.
Inside the base, use the Let’s Go function so your Pokémon automatically engage the thirty defenders in ten minutes. Replenish HP at the beverage machines during the advance. Ortega uses a level 50 Azumarill, a level 50 Wigglytuff, a level 51 Dachsbun, and a level 50 Fairy-type Ruchbah Starmobile. Poison-type attacks are devastating against the entire team, while Electric-type attacks neutralize Azumarill. After the victory, a flashback reveals that Ortega founded the squad to combat bullying at the academy. The former principal confirms that the confrontation between Team Star and aggressors led to mass teacher dismissals. Cassiopeia rewards you with 10,000 LP and an expanded TM catalog, while Penny provides crafting materials.
NORTH PROVINCE LIGHTHOUSE
While exploring North Province Area Three after completing the Team Star base here, you’ll find an imposing lighthouse strategically positioned on the edge of the mountains. Climb to the top to register another Fly point, making it much easier to get around the region. Take the opportunity to explore the surroundings, collect valuable items, and face strong trainers who will thoroughly test your team at this advanced stage of your journey.
With that area explored, it’s time to face the final Titan of the Path of Legends. He is located in a huge lake north of the Asado Desert. You can fly to Glaseado Mountain or Glaseado’s Grasp and follow the left side of the map, descending the icy slopes until you approach the large lake.
CASSEROYA FALLS AND CASSEROYA LAKE
Upon reaching the border between the mountains and the lake, you’ll see Casseroya Falls, a gigantic waterfall that flows into Casseroya Lake, the largest lake in all of Paldea. The region is vast and full of important points. Near the waterfall, there’s a tower that can be climbed and registered as a Fly point. On the lower shore of the lake, there are two more towers scattered among rocks and small islands; visit both to unlock even more fast routes.
In the center of the lake is a large island called Casseroya Lake Islet. Stepping onto it registers another Fly point. This is one of the best areas in the game to find Water and Dragon-type Pokémon, including Tatsugiri, Dondozo, Dragonair, Dragonite, Veluza, Goomy, Altaria, the Dragon-type Terrastalized Gyarados, and many more. Expect intense battles, as the trainers here are stronger and tend to use more aggressive strategies.
SOCARRAT TRAIL AND GRACIA STONES
Exploring the upper shore of the lake, you reach Socarrat Trail, a path marked by dry vegetation and a more arid climate. Walk through the area collecting items, observing Pokémon such as Heracross, Forretress, Slaking, Lurantis, and Psychic-type versions like Tsareena. As you move towards the sea, you will find the Gracia Stones, a set of ancient stones that also serves as a tourist attraction. Passing through them unlocks another Fly point, useful for future visits to the region.
DONDOZO AND TATSUGIRI – THE FALSE DRAGON TITAN
As they approach the area marked on the map for the final Titan, Arven calls, saying that nobody knows for sure what this Titan looks like, and drops a seemingly silly hint that it would be great if he just yelled that it’s the Titan. Pay attention to that.
When you step onto the indicated island, you will see several Tatsugiri lying on the sand. As you approach each one, they utter different phrases. Pay attention to the one that says “Taitaaan!”, as this is the true Titan in disguise. Interact with it and, immediately, a colossal Dondozo leaps from the water and swallows the Tatsugiri, beginning the battle.
Titan Dondozo appears at level 56. Use electric or plant attacks to deal massive damage. Once his health drops, he will flee to another island in the lake. If you lose sight of him, open the map and mark the new indicated location. Upon arriving there, another group of Tatsugiri will be gathered. As you approach, Dondozo emerges again, collides with the island’s slope, and reveals a hidden cave. Tatsugiri enters it and, as always, Arven arrives in time to help him in the second phase.
Now you face Dondozo once more in a double battle, and you can use Terastalization again. This time Arven uses Greedent. Defeat the Titan and, seemingly, it will all be over. However, Tatsugiri appears alone, determined to fight. He is the true mastermind behind the previous Titan.
The level 57 Titan Tatsugiri requires Dragon or Fairy-type moves to be safely defeated. After winning, you enter the cave with Arven and find the Spicy Herba Mystica. Arven prepares the sandwiches and gives you the Dragon-type Titan Badge. Koraidon or Miraidon, as always, appears to eat as well, and this new power allows your mount to climb walls.
After the legendary Pokémon eats all the Herba Mystica, Mabosstiff finally recovers completely and stands up excitedly for the first time. Arven is deeply moved. Still in the cave, the professor calls to inform them that their legendary Pokémon has now regained all its locomotion abilities. To climb walls, it simply needs to touch them and press B.
Hearing Arven’s voice, the professor reveals that he is his guardian and asks that he and you come to the laboratory in Poco Path. Arven is frustrated by his father’s or mother’s lack of attention, but nevertheless agrees to accompany you. Before completing the Path of Legends, only the last Team Star base remains to be cleared.
NORTH PROVINCE
To reach the final base, fly to East Province Area Three, cross Tagtree Thicket, and head to the area above the river. Now that your mount can climb, you can advance along the slope. On the map, there’s a Pokémon Center in North Province Area One. Go there first to register your Fly point, and only then explore the area at your leisure.
Near this location, there is a tower positioned on the slightly left side of Glaseado Mountain. If you haven’t already registered it, place your marker there, climb the mountain using the new climbing feature, and reach the tower to enable the Fly point. This route naturally leads to the last Team Star base, so take the opportunity to battle trainers and capture Pokémon such as Noivern, Lucario, Altaria, Golduck, or terrestrialized Pokémon like Dragon-type Eelektross.
NORTH PROVINCE (AREA TWO) AND FURY FALLS
As you continue your journey through northern Paldea, open the map and look for a lake located above the North Province Area Two Pokémon Center. Set this lake as your next destination. Upon arrival, you will find three towers positioned around the water. Climb each one to register them as Fly points, which will greatly facilitate your future travel around the region.
After that, head to the Pokémon Center indicated on the map. This area is large and full of strong Pokémon and Trainers. Before proceeding directly to Team Star’s last base, take some time to visit the waterfall located a little south of the outpost. This is Fury Falls, an imposing waterfall hidden on the mountainside. Approach the area to register another Fly point. In the vicinity, you will find Pokémon such as Heracross, Grafaiai, Luxray, Oranguru, Pupitar, Deino, Noivern, and extremely rare terrestrial versions like Steel-type Dragonite or Fairy-type Mimikyu.
CAPH SQUAD’S BASE – TEAM STAR FIGHTING CREW
As you approach Team Star’s last base, your phone rings: it’s Cassiopeia, explaining that this is the final battle before challenging Big Boss. Soon after, Clive appears to greet you. Upon reaching the gate, you see Eri, the leader of the fighter squad, talking to a team member. She herself was prepared to defend the base, but ends up being convinced by a subordinate to go inside. It’s this girl who tries to stop your advance. Win the battle and the gate will be opened.
Cassiopeia calls again, informing you that Eri is extremely strong and dedicated to protecting her companions. Prepare your three best Pokémon to face the base invasion. Place them in the first three positions and ring the doorbell. Inside, you must defeat thirty Pokémon in Let’s Go mode within ten minutes. If your team needs healing, use the beverage machines scattered around the courtyard.
With the challenge completed, Eri appears for the final showdown. She uses Toxicroak, Passimian, Lucario, and Annihilape, all at level fifty-five or fifty-six, plus the Fighting-type Caph Starmobile. Effective strategies include Flying, Psychic, and Fairy-type moves. Toxicroak and Lucario are also weak to Ground, Lucario takes extra damage from Fire, and Annihilape can be neutralized with Ghost-type attacks.
After defeating her, you see a flashback showing that many squad members started in Team Star due to bullying they suffered or witnessed. Eri, despite her strength, was always an empathetic leader who tried to protect everyone. As you leave the base, Cassiopeia calls and reveals that Operation Starfall has entered its final phase. Now that all five squads have been defeated, only the Big Boss remains to be faced. Cassiopeia then admits to being the original leader of Team Star and asks you to meet her in the schoolyard.
REMOVING THE PALDEA STAKES
With all mount abilities unlocked, you can now reach any point in Paldea. This is the perfect time to revisit old locations, climb buildings in cities, scale extreme cliffs, and retrieve items you left behind. It’s also an excellent opportunity to search for the stakes scattered across the map. These stakes are connected to the quartet of legendaries known as the Treasures of Ruin. Each legendary is sealed in a tomb, and each of these tombs is locked by eight stakes buried throughout the world.
The stakes come in four different colors, each associated with a specific legendary Pokémon. To challenge each one, simply find and remove all the stakes of their corresponding color.
GREEN STAKES
The green stakes are scattered around Casseroya Lake and correspond to Ting-Lu. Once you collect all eight, go to the Groundblight Shrine tomb on Socarrat Trail, north of the lake. Touch the glowing stone and Ting-Lu will appear to fight. He appears at level sixty.
YELLOW STAKES
The yellow stakes are located in the West Province and correspond to Chien-Pao. After collecting them, head to the Icerend Shrine, located to the left of the area where you fought Bombirdier. Touch the glowing yellow stone and Chien-Pao will appear at level sixty.
PURPLE STAKES
The purple stakes are located throughout the South Province and correspond to Wo-Chien. Once you have removed them all, go to the Grasswither Shrine, located to the right of Los Platos, near the border of South Province Area One. Upon touching the purple stone, Wo-Chien will appear at level sixty.
BLUE STAKES
The blue stakes are scattered throughout the North Province and correspond to the legendary Chi-Yu. After removing them all, go to the Firescourge Shrine, located inside a small cave above Fury Falls. Upon touching the glowing blue stone, Chi-Yu will appear at level sixty.
FINALIZING THE THREE STORYLINES
After defeating all the gym bosses, all the Titans, and all the Team Star squads, you finally reach the point where Paldea’s three major storylines converge. From here, all that remains is to formally complete each one. For Victory Road, you need to challenge the Elite Four and the Top Champion. For the Path of Legends, you must reunite with Arven at the Poco Path Lighthouse. For Starfall Street, you need to meet Cassiopeia at the school. The order is entirely up to you, but in this guide we’ll start with the Path of Legends, as it only requires a single battle before completion.
PATH OF LEGENDS
Fly to Poco Path Lighthouse, the lighthouse where you first met Arven. Walk to the door on the left and Arven appears, saying that this is the entrance to the professor’s lab. You both enter and find a silent and seemingly abandoned environment, with equipment turned off and an atmosphere of absence. Then the monitor lights up, and Sada or Turo makes contact. They explain that they are in Area Zero, in the center of the Great Crater of Paldea, studying extremely rare Pokémon found only there.
The professor asks for help. Sada requests that you take the Scarlet Book to the depths of the crater, while Turo asks for the Violet Book. Arven has had the book since the beginning of the adventure. He also warns that Area Zero is hostile, full of dangerous Pokémon and advanced security systems. Therefore, he recommends that you bring strong allies.
Arven is uneasy because it was in Area Zero that his partner Mabosstiff was seriously injured, but even so, he doesn’t want to abandon you and decides to accompany you on your journey. Before that, he wants to test you in battle to see if you’re truly ready to face the danger ahead. Leave the lab, talk to him, and the battle begins.
Arven uses a level 58 Greedent, a level 59 Cloyster, a level 60 Skovillain, a level 61 Toedscruel, a level 62 Garganacl, and a level 63 Mabosstiff terastalized as a Dark type. It’s his strongest team so far, so prepare for a long and strategic fight. Upon defeating him, Arven acknowledges that you are strong enough to move on. He does, however, point out that you need two more important allies: someone with champion-level strength and someone who is a technology expert. Nemona and Penny are perfect choices, but for them to help you, you must first complete the other two story lines. Thus, you officially conclude the Path of Legends.
STARFALL STREET
Fly to Naranja Academy or Uva Academy in Mesagoza. Upon arriving at the school gate, Clive is waiting for you. He reveals his true identity, removing his wig and showing that he was actually Headmaster Clavell all along. Clavell further claims that he is the real Cassiopeia and that all the calls you received were recordings prepared by him. Then he challenges you.
Clavell’s team changes depending on your starter Pokémon. If you started with Sprigatito, he uses Oranguru, Abomasnow, Polteageist, Amoonguss, Gyarados, and Skeledirge. If you started with Fuecoco, he uses Oranguru, Abomasnow, Polteageist, Houndoom, Amoonguss, and Quaquaval. If you started with Quaxly, he uses Oranguru, Abomasnow, Polteageist, Gyarados, Houndoom, and Meowscarada. All are at level sixty and sixty-one. After defeating him, Clavell admits he lied. He is not Cassiopeia. He only wanted to test you to see if you were capable of facing the real Big Boss of Team Star.
At this point, Professor Tyme appears, accusing Clavell of fighting illegally at the school, leaving the principal completely embarrassed. He then reminds you that Cassiopeia asked you to meet him in the schoolyard at night. Enter the school, go to the monitor at the entrance, and select the schoolyard. Even if it’s not nighttime, the game adjusts the time automatically.
Upon arriving, Penny is waiting for you. She reveals that she is the real Cassiopeia. When she saw you defeat the Team Star thugs in that first encounter, she envisioned you as the one capable of restoring peace to the school. Penny then created Operation Starfall for you, carefully orchestrating plans to take down each boss. Part of her wished for Team Star to continue existing, but in a healthy way. She asks you to fight with everything you’ve got.
Clive appears to film the battle. Then face Penny and her team composed entirely of Eevee evolutions: Umbreon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafeon, and Sylveon transformed into Fairy-type Tetras, all at levels sixty-two and sixty-three.
After defeating her, Penny calls the Team Star leaders and, with a trembling voice, asks them all to accept the end of the team and return to their classes. She takes the blame for everything, apologizing for it having been difficult to get along with each of them. All the leaders arrive, meet with her, and call her by her real name for the first time.
Clavell, now unmasked, apologizes for not realizing that bullying was the root of Team Star’s formation. He explains that the team will not be disbanded by the school, provided they stop the infractions and serve the community by overseeing the STCs, the new Star Training Centers created from the existing bases. Penny is touched by the gesture.
Clavell then asks you to meet him in his office. After a conversation with him, Penny appears and admits that she hacked the Pokémon League system to get the LPs she gave you during Operation Starfall. Therefore, she is prepared to accept a severe punishment. When you leave the school building, Penny calls saying she wants to talk in person. Meet her on the entrance stairs.
She explains that the Pokémon League decided to pardon her, provided she does volunteer work. Geeta and Clavell praised her exceptional technological skills and even invited her to work with them after graduation. Penny deeply thanks her for her help and gives her TM169 Draco Meteor. With that, you complete Starfall Street.
With Penny and Arven now officially on your side, all that remains is to secure Nemona’s participation, which will happen naturally as you complete the last remaining storyline in Paldea. From here, your path to Area Zero is almost ready to be charted.
POKÉMON LEAGUE – ELITE 4
When you’re ready for your champion evaluation, fly to Mesagoza West. Climb the long staircase next to the Pokémon Center, continue forward, and climb another staircase to the left, which leads to a tunnel with a gate. Go through this passage until you find the Pokémon League building ahead. Geeta will be at the entrance; she greets you and goes inside to await your arrival. Speak with the League representative, who will confirm your badges and lead you to the interview room.
Rika will be responsible for your initial evaluation. Sit down and answer the questions carefully. First, she asks how you got to the League, and any answer will do. Then, she wants to know the name of your school: Naranja Academy if you’re playing Scarlet, or Uva Academy if you’re playing Violet. Next, she asks what brought you there; answer that you want to become champion. In the next question, she asks what you want to do after becoming champion. Choose one option and remember it, as this will come up again later.
Rika then asks you to name the most difficult gym you faced, followed by the name of the corresponding leader and the gym type. Next, she asks for the Pokédex category of your starter Pokémon, which should be Grass Cat, Fire Croc, or Duckling depending on your initial choice. She also repeats the question about your plans as champion; use the exact same answer you gave before. Finally, she asks if you like Pokémon. Say yes, and the interview ends.
Now comes the practical part: the Elite Four challenge. You can use your box between battles and have access to terastalization in all of them. The test begins as you pass through the door behind Rika.
Rika is the first to face it, a Ground-type specialist. She uses level 57 Whiscash, level 57 Camerupt, level 57 Donphan, level 57 Dugtrio, and level 58 Clodsire with Ground-type transformation. Use Water, Grass, or Ice-type moves. Against Camerupt, Ground-type attacks also work. Be careful with Clodsire, which has an ability that makes it immune to Water-type moves.
The second opponent is Poppy, a Steel-type specialist. She uses level 58 Copperajah, level 58 Magnezone, level 58 Bronzong, level 58 Corviknight, and a level 59 Tinkaton transformed into a Steel-type Pokémon. Fire, Ground, or Fighting-type moves are ideal. Bronzong is immune to Ground-type moves but is vulnerable to Ghost and Dark-type attacks. Corviknight is severely affected by Electric-type attacks.
Next up is Larry. In the gym he uses Normal-type moves, but in the Elite Four he battles with Flying-type moves. He uses level 59 Tropius, level 59 Oricorio, level 59 Altaria, level 59 Staraptor, and level 60 Flamigo that’s been modified to Flying. Ice, Electric, or Rock-type moves work very well here. Tropius also has additional weaknesses to Fire, Poison, and Flying, and Altaria is also weak to Dragon and Fairy.
The last member of the Elite Four is Hassel, who specializes in Dragon-type Pokémon. He uses level 60 Noivern, level 60 Haxorus, level 60 Dragalge, level 60 Flapple, and a level 61 Baxcalibur that has been modified to Dragon-type moveset. Use Ice, Dragon, or Fairy-type moves. Noivern is also weak to Rock, Dragalge to Psychic and Ground, and Flapple to Flying, Poison, and Bug.
After defeating the Elite Four, Rika congratulates you and fully heals your team. Now only the top champion Geeta remains. She uses a varied team: Espathra level 61, Gogoat level 61, Veluza level 61, Avalugg level 61, Kingambit level 61, and Glimmora level 62 transformed into a rock. Use Bug, Ghost, or Dark type moves against Espathra; Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug, or Poison type moves against Gogoat; Electric or Grass type moves against Veluza; Fire, Fighting, Rock, or Steel type moves against Avalugg; Fire, Fighting, or Ground type moves against Kingambit; and Water, Grass, Ground, Fighting, or Steel type moves against Glimmora.
VICTORY ROAD
After defeating Geeta, she officially declares you the Champion of Paldea. Upon leaving the Pokémon League, Nemona finds you beaming with excitement. She wants a serious battle between champions and suggests fighting in Mesagoza. Head to the central courtyard and prepare for one of the most important clashes in the game.
Nemona uses Lycanroc level 65, Goodra level 65, Dudunsparce level 65, Orthworm level 65, Pawmot level 65, and her starter at level 66 with a type transformation corresponding to its primary element. Use effective moves like Water, Grass, or Fighting against Lycanroc; Ice, Dragon, or Fairy against Goodra; Fighting against Dudunsparce; Fire or Fighting against Orthworm; Ground, Psychic, or Fairy against Pawmot; and super-effective attacks according to her chosen starter. Meowscarada is vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Bug, Flying, and Poison; Skeledirge is weak against Water, Rock, and Ground; Quaquaval is weak against Electric and Grass.
After an exciting battle, Nemona is overjoyed with your progress as a trainer. With that, you complete Victory Road. Soon after, you reappear in your dorm room at school. If all three main routes are completed, Arven calls, commenting that your achievements have resonated throughout Paldea. Thanks to your fame, you now have powerful allies to accompany you on your final journey to Area Zero. He awaits you at Zero Gate.
GREAT CRATER OF PALDEA – AREA ZERO
To begin the final stage of the adventure, fly to Medalli and mark Zero Gate as your destination. Navigate there, and upon arrival, Arven will explain that this facility was built to allow researchers to study the Great Crater of Paldea, also known as Area Zero, a mysterious location that holds the origin of Koraidon or Miraidon. Enter with him and await the arrival of your teammates.
ZERO GATE – THE WAY HOME
Inside the Zero Gate you reunite with Nemona and Penny, each with their own motivations for accompanying you. Nemona came because she heard there would be strong opponents, and Penny because she feels she should repay Team Star for their help. The professor’s voice echoes through the loudspeakers, indicating the path everyone must follow. Soon you reach a platform that requires a descent mounted on the legendary Pokémon. Upon jumping, you land at the bottom of the crater, but Koraidon or Miraidon gets scared, feels unwell, and retreats into its Poké Ball. For now, you won’t be able to ride it. The voice explains that you need to reach the Zero Lab, the deepest part of Area Zero, which is locked by four barriers. Each of them will be deactivated at one of the four research stations scattered throughout the region.
RESEARCH STATION 1
Descending down the crater slopes, you reach the first station. As you approach it, a Glimmora appears and initiates a battle. Nemona joins you in Raid Battle mode. After defeating it, enter the station and use the bed to heal your team, if you wish. On the panel, disable the first lock in the laboratory and continue your descent.
RESEARCH STATION 2
Following the underground path, you find the second station. Outside, a familiar Pokémon catches your eye. In Scarlet, it’s a Jigglypuff, while in Violet it’s a Delibird, but both turn out to be completely different creatures from the originals. Penny tries to approach, but the creature reacts aggressively, and you fight together. In Scarlet, the enemy is Scream Tail. In Violet, Iron Bundle.
After defeating him, enter the station. Arven consults information in the book and concludes that these Pokémon are part of the so-called Area Zero monsters. In Scarlet, Sada’s voice explains that they are Pokémon from the past brought by a time machine. In Violet, Turo reveals that they came from the future. Arven demands explanations about why they were summoned, but the professor prefers to explain everything in person. On the panel, deactivate the second lock. Arven gives you either the Scarlet Book or the Violet Book to carry. Continue descending.
RESEARCH STATION 3
It doesn’t take long before you find the third station. At the entrance, another familiar Pokémon appears: a version of Donphan that you’ve already seen as Titan. It charges to attack, and Arven joins you in the battle, since you both faced this creature before. In Scarlet, the enemy is Great Tusk. In Violet, Iron Treads.
After defeating the Pokémon, enter the station. Penny comments on the possibility that Koraidon or Miraidon also came from another era. Arven explains that his father or mother found the legendary Pokémon in the time machine. The professor then clarifies that the legendary Pokémon you possess was the first Pokémon successfully transported, and reveals that there is another lost specimen somewhere in the crater. Deactivate the third lock and proceed.
RESEARCH STATION 4
The fourth station is located after a cave filled with glowing crystals, similar to those used in terastalization. Along the way, there are several creatures that have traveled through time and can now be captured. Upon reaching the station, the interior is destroyed. The professor’s voice tries to explain something, but the transmission suffers interference and fails repeatedly. Go to the panel and deactivate the fourth lock. Communication returns for a moment, and the professor asks everyone to go down to the Zero Lab.
DEPTHS OF ZERO AREA
Continuing down, you reach the entrance to the main laboratory, completely covered in crystals. The professor calls to explain that the crystals possess the same energy used in the terastalization phenomenon and that Tera Orbs are created with this type of crystal. He warns that upon opening the laboratory, several dangerous Pokémon will attempt to escape. Before proceeding, Arven suggests you call Koraidon or Miraidon, as he is strong enough to help.
When you release it from the Poké Ball, you activate the panel that opens the lab, but at that moment a second Koraidon or Miraidon appears behind you, fully prepared to fight, much more savage and aggressive. The legendary Pokémon accompanying you is shaken and retreats. The strange legendary disappears inside the lab. Penny comments that perhaps they aren’t related in the way they thought.
While you’re arguing, several Pokémon escape from the lab and begin to surround you. Nemona joins you to defeat the first opponent. In Scarlet, it’s Great Tusk. In Violet, it’s Iron Treads. After that, another Pokémon appears and you help Penny in the battle. In Scarlet, the enemy is Brute Bonnet. In Violet, it’s Iron Hands. Soon other Pokémon appear, and this time Koraidon or Miraidon roars to scare them away. Nemona and Penny run after them to contain the escapees, and you stay with Arven to face the third Pokémon. In Scarlet, it’s Flutter Mane. In Violet, it’s Iron Jugulis. After defeating it, Arven runs to stop the others and asks you to continue inside the lab taking the legendary Pokémon with you.
ZERO LAB
Inside the laboratory, you finally encounter the professor. He places the other legendary Pokémon in a Master Ball and explains that this creature had defeated the Koraidon or Miraidon that is now with you, which caused your legendary Pokémon to flee Area Zero. Then, he reveals the truth: the person before you is not the real Sada or Turo, but an artificial intelligence created with all the records and memories of the original professor. The real one died in the incident that destroyed research station four, while trying to protect the legendary Pokémon that now accompanies you.
The artificial intelligence explains that it summoned you there because it needs you to shut down the time machine. Go with it into the elevator and descend to the lower level. During the descent, it explains how artificial intelligence works, how the original professor died, and why the time machine represents a danger. The professor wished for Pokémon from the past or future to coexist with the present, but this jeopardized the ecological balance. Some Pokémon have already proven strong enough to break through the Area Zero barrier, which could cause a disaster in Paldea.
TIME MACHINE
The artificial intelligence asks you to use the book in your possession to shut down the time machine. The room is lined with concentrated crystals, and their glow reveals a structure powered by terastal energy. To shut it down, place the book on the pedestal. However, the system is programmed to prevent the machine from being deactivated and forces the artificial intelligence to confront you.
In Scarlet, AI Sada uses Slither Wing, Scream Tail, Brute Bonnet, Flutter Mane, Sandy Shocks, and Roaring Moon. In Violet, AI Turo uses Iron Moth, Iron Bundle, Iron Hands, Iron Jugulis, Iron Thorns, and Iron Valiant. All are at high levels and represent the pinnacle of the Pokémon’s power brought about by time.
Upon defeating them, the time machine shuts down, but the security systems are activated. Your friends arrive in the room, but soon discover that all the Poké Balls have been locked. Protocol Paradise kicks in, and the artificial intelligence begins to crystallize, preparing for one last battle. This time, it will use the legendary Pokémon that was in the Master Ball, forcing you to face the most powerful form of Koraidon or Miraidon in a decisive confrontation that will determine the fate of Paldea and the artificial intelligence itself.
THE GUARDIAN OF PARADISE
Once the security system locks all your Poké Balls, you realize you can’t use any of your Pokémon. However, when you open the team menu, an exception appears: Koraidon or Miraidon can be selected. Choose your legendary Pokémon and send it into battle. It immediately changes to its battle form, ready to face the Paradise Protection Protocol in a special Raid Battle format.
On the other side, a level 72 Koraidon appears in Scarlet or a level 72 Miraidon in Violet. Your legendary Pokémon enters this battle at level 68. Attack normally until the game allows you to use Terastalization. As soon as you can, use Terastalization and Tera Blast. This move will be the key to overcoming the power of the legendary enemy. Don’t worry about your Pokémon’s HP. When its HP reaches a critical point, the system prevents it from being knocked out, causing opposing attacks to stop dealing damage. Keep striking until you win the battle.
With the battle concluded, the artificial intelligence regains consciousness. AI Sada or AI Turo realizes that if it remains there, the system could restart the time machine at any moment. To prevent this from happening, the robot decides to use it one last time and travel to the past or future, becoming trapped forever and shutting down the machine. Before disappearing, it laments the abrupt farewell but acknowledges that this is the only way to avoid a new catastrophe. It travels through time taking the Scarlet Book or the Violet Book with it, while you and your friends return through the crater to the surface. The credits begin to roll, and your main adventure comes to an end.
HALL OF FAME AND POST-GAME
After the credits, you wake up in your dorm room at school. You soon receive a summons asking you, Nemona, Penny, and Arven to appear in the principal’s office. From this point on, an important new function is unlocked: you can now freely switch between battle form and mount form for Koraidon or Miraidon.
In the principal’s office, Clavell congratulates the group on their heroic act in Area Zero and thanks them for saving Paldea. As a token of appreciation, he presents you with a Master Ball. Additionally, you receive the Hall of Fame badge, celebrating your achievement of completing all storylines. The principal takes the opportunity to sensitively comment on the death of Arven’s father or mother, but the boy demonstrates that he has already found the strength to move forward.
Nemona, thrilled with her new title as champion, suggests a way to celebrate: a school tournament open to strong trainers. Geeta appears at that moment and confirms the Pokémon League’s support for the event. Teachers and students can participate, and the winner will be recognized as the strongest in the academy. Nemona asks Geeta to participate, but she is overwhelmed with her duties as Top Champion. She proposes that you help her with one of the League’s tasks to free up her schedule, allowing her to participate in the tournament.
Geeta calls Penny, asking her to also fulfill her promise to help the Pokémon League, while Nemona rushes to prepare the event. Arven, in turn, is relieved of any task, much to his delight. Now that this stage opens, you need to revisit all the gym leaders to test your post-game strengths, and only then will you have access to the tournament.
CHECKING THE IVs OF YOUR POKÉMON
From this point in the adventure, when visiting a Pokémon Center, the nurse explains that you can now view your Pokémon’s IVs. Open your Box and press the plus button to see the values. This function is essential for the endgame and for trainers who want to refine their competitive strategies.
Capturing Koraidon or Miraidon
Now it’s also possible to battle with the legendary Pokémon you use as a mount. Within the team menu, it appears separately as a seventh option. When you select it and choose to switch to battle mode, it becomes one of your six active Pokémon. If your team is full, the game will ask which Pokémon you want to send to the Box to make room for it.
An important point to note is that pressing the mount button automatically reverts it to its mount form and returns it to the seventh Pokémon position, making it unavailable for battles. Since the form changes constantly, it’s easy to lose track and end up in a fight without the legendary Pokémon, thinking it was still part of the team. Therefore, always check your team before important battles.
Because it’s an essential Pokémon for exploration, this Koraidon or Miraidon cannot be deposited in the Box, traded, or sent to Pokémon Home. To get around this, the game offers a second specimen available in the depths of Area Zero. Return to the location of the battle against the Paradise Protection Protocol and look for the other legendary. It will be waiting to be captured and can be traded or transferred. The second Koraidon or Miraidon appears at level seventy-two.
GETTING TO KNOW THE SCHOOL: NARANJA ACADEMY OR UVA ACADEMY
Now that you have complete freedom within the school, it’s worth exploring every corner of it. The institution is enormous and has several areas accessible via monitors scattered throughout the Entrance Hall. Each monitor acts as an internal teleporter, taking you directly to the classrooms. Among the important locations are the cafeteria, the school shop, the teacher-supervised laboratories, the infirmary, the teachers’ lounge, the principal’s office, and the various classrooms where your friends study.
Use these spaces to get to know the characters better, attend classes, complete secondary objectives, and strengthen bonds with the teachers. As you progress through these interactions, various extra dialogues and small rewards can be unlocked, further enriching your post-game adventure.
With this, you complete the final part of the main story and pave the way for advanced Paldea content, such as the school tournament, gym leader rematches, and optional post-game activities. From here, your journey deepens and continues to grow, now with complete freedom.
SCHOOL CLASSES
After your first visit to the academy, in addition to the open-world adventure of Paldea, you gain access to an optional study routine within the school itself. These classes function as a really cool parallel content, where each teacher explains concepts from the Pokémon universe in a simple way, using practical examples of game mechanics. To attend classes, simply go to the school’s Entrance Hall and speak to the receptionist at the front; she’ll be the one to choose which subject you want to attend at that moment.
The subjects are unlocked gradually as you progress through the main campaign and earn more gym badges. The structure for each subject is always the same: first, you attend three introductory classes, simply reading the teacher’s dialogue and following the explanations until the end of the class. After these three classes, you take an Intermediate Exam. This exam presents five multiple-choice questions about the content already explained in class. You need to answer at least three out of five correctly to pass and unlock the second half of the subject.
After passing the Intermediate Exam, three more advanced lessons in this subject are unlocked. Again, you just need to follow what the teacher says in class. Once these three final lessons are completed, it’s time for the Final Exam. It also has five questions, but now you need to answer at least four correctly to pass and successfully complete the course. The advantage of doing all this isn’t just the knowledge: you earn very useful rewards for training your team. Passing the Intermediate Exam earns you a set of five Exp. Candy S; passing the Final Exam earns you five Exp. Candy M. And, after completing all the exams in all subjects, you also receive a package with five Exp. Candy L, which are very helpful for leveling up the slower Pokémon on your team.
As you complete the classes for each subject, small events begin to appear within the school itself. In various locations, such as the Biology Lab, Art Room, Infirmary, or Teachers’ Lounge, you can find teachers in specific situations, with extra dialogues that delve a little deeper into each teacher’s character. By talking to them in these moments, you can strengthen your friendship with the teachers. As your affinity increases, you receive additional rewards, such as battle items, TMs, or tips on other game mechanics. This system transforms the school into something alive, making you feel part of that environment, instead of just being a background setting.
Each subject has its focus and helps you understand a different part of the game. In Biology, Professor Jacq talks about how eggs work, ways to obtain Pokémon besides capturing them, how to walk with your partner outside of a Poké Ball, and details of internal mechanics like the chance of a Shiny Pokémon. In Math, you see in practice how damage multipliers, super-effective moves, critical hits, Tera Type, and even the economy of Poké Balls and Great Balls make a difference in the numbers. In History class, you learn about the region’s past, the origin of the Great Crater, the creation of the academy, and the legends of the four treasures of the ruin. In Languages, with Salvatore, you have quick lessons on expressions in other languages, meanings of love phrases, and even interpretations of Pikachu’s emotions.
In the Battle Studies course, Professor Dendra explains how attributes like Special Defense work, how to use cheers in Tera Raids, what Auto Battles are with the R button, how to increase LP by trading materials from wild Pokémon, and the rules of Link battles with different leveling patterns. In Art, with Hassel, you’ll better understand the phenomenon of terastalization, the shapes of Tera Jewels, the relationship between crystal shapes and types, as well as references to tourist attractions and works of art from the region, such as Brassius’s Surrendering Sunflora. In Home Economics, Saguaro talks about the effects of picnic meals, Meal Powers like Sparkling Power and Egg Power, how berries work in HP recovery, the importance of keeping your Pokémon clean with Pokémon Wash, and even about uniform customization, making it clear that whether or not to follow the standard look is your choice.
Ultimately, this set of lessons forms a great “advanced tutorial” for the game, but presented in a lighter way, with simple tests and generous rewards. It’s not mandatory to advance the main story, but it’s well worth investing time in the subjects, especially if you like to understand the mechanics in depth or want to strengthen your team more efficiently using Exp. Candies and the extra items obtained by building relationships with the teachers.
FRIENDSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL TEACHERS
As you progress through the classes and complete the main storylines, a unique opportunity arises to deepen your bonds with the academy’s teachers. These interactions occur at specific times and can be accessed through monitors scattered throughout the school whenever an exclamation point appears indicating a new available encounter. Each conversation strengthens your connection with these characters and brings valuable rewards such as TMs, rare items, and terastalization materials. If you have already completed all classes and exams, you can have these encounters in sequence right now.
POKÉDEX FOR JACQ
Jacq doesn’t demand traditional friendship, but rather that you accept his challenge to complete the regional Pokédex. Visit the biology lab and talk to him. As the creator of the Pokédex app on your Rotom Phone, he tracks your capture progress. Upon registering thirty different species, he gives you TM057 False Swipe. With one hundred captures, you receive twenty Ultra Balls. Two hundred registered Pokémon yield twenty Quick Balls. When you complete all four hundred entries in the Paldea Dex, you earn the Shiny Charm and Clavell personally appears to deliver your official diploma.
FRIENDSHIP WITH TYME
Start in the teachers’ lounge by asking about the damage of Rock-type attacks against Flying-types; she confirms that the damage doubles. A curious student asks about her past as a gym leader, but she avoids details. At the school entrance, Tyme comments that she feels watched and is suspicious of shy students wanting to ask questions. In the cafeteria, you identify a girl who frequently follows her. In the courtyard, you set up an ambush and discover that the girl is a fan of the period when Tyme led the Rock-type gym. Tyme explains that she left the position to focus on teaching, gifting you fifty Rock Tera Shards as thanks for your help.
FRIENDSHIP WITH RAIFORT
In the teachers’ lounge, discuss her preference for old or new things; she reveals a passion for history. At the school entrance, she narrates the legend of the four corrupted treasures—vase, sword, tablets, and beads—that transformed into the legendary creatures sealed in Paldea. In another encounter at the same location, she confirms the existence of the tombs and explains that removing the eight corresponding stakes releases each creature. After capturing Ting Lu, Chien Pao, Wo Chien, and Chi Yu, return to show them the legendary creatures. Fascinated, Raifort rewards your effort with TM140 Nasty Plot.
FRIENDSHIP WITH SALVATORE
Start in the teachers’ lounge where he emphasizes the importance of communication. In the courtyard, help him care for an injured Pawmi by giving it a Potion. In the biology lab, discover that the Pawmi was attacked and is traumatized. Back in the teachers’ lounge, Salvatore realizes that quietness is part of the Pokémon’s personality and decides to adopt it after your encouragement. As a reward for solving the case, he gives you a level five Galarian Meowth.
FRIENDSHIP WITH DENDRA
In the courtyard, she invites you for a run and shares a sandwich of dubious taste. In the home economics room, Saguaro teaches her cooking while she tries to improve her skills. In the infirmary, help convince Miriam to try her new sandwich, which is now edible. Finally, at the school store, Dendra admits she bought ready-made snacks out of tiredness and thanks you for your patience with ten Protein.
FRIENDSHIP WITH HASSEL
In the art room, they discuss battles and the difficulty of the classes. In the courtyard, a relative interrupts to discuss taking over the family leadership of dragon trainers. At the school entrance, Hassel reveals his dilemma between family tradition and his passion for teaching. Back in the art room, he decides to remain as a teacher and celebrates his choice by gifting you fifty Dragon Tera Shards.
FRIENDSHIP WITH SAGUARO
In the home economics room, he enthusiastically shows off the space. In the cafeteria, save him from being pressured to eat something spicy by suggesting the peanut butter sandwich he prefers. In the teachers’ lounge, he discreetly asks you to get him Sweet Herba Mystica. Upon delivering the item to the classroom, he prepares an extremely sweet meal, and you earn a Slowpoke Cup for picnics.
FRIENDSHIP WITH MIRIAM
In the infirmary, she expresses a desire to become a teacher. At the school entrance, you find her studying for the certification exam. Back in the infirmary, she celebrates passing the exam and thanks everyone with ten Max Revives, continuing as a nurse while waiting for a teaching position in healthcare.
FRIENDSHIP WITH CLAVELL
In the principal’s office, explain the meaning of “cheugy” as something outdated and without style. When asked about your favorite teacher, answering “Director Clavell” will elicit a positive reaction. Regarding popular hairstyles, mention “Giant pompadours” to see his recognition of Clive’s style. In the final conversation, confirm that you maintain your friendship with Penny and receive a Big Nugget as a symbol of this newly strengthened relationship.
REMATCH AGAINST TEAM STAR
With their bases deactivated, the Team Star bosses now run the STCs (Star Training Centers) in the same locations as their old bases. Visit any of these locations daily to challenge the bosses in rematch battles. This time, they won’t be using the powerful Starmobiles, featuring more balanced and strategic teams. In addition to individual battles, ring the bell at the STC entrance to start Star Training: an intensified version of Star Barrage. Here, you’ll need to defeat 50 Pokémon in Auto Battles using Let’s Go mode (activated with the R button), all within the time limit. The faster you complete, the greater the reward in LPs (League Points), which can be exchanged for valuable items. Prepare a versatile team of level 65 or higher to master these challenges.

THE REMATCH AGAINST THE GYM LEADERS
As part of a mission assigned by Geeta, president of the Pokémon League, you must inspect all the gym leaders in Paldea. Visit the gym buildings in any order to challenge each leader to a rematch battle. They will be waiting for you with significantly stronger teams, all between levels 65 and 66, including Pokémon that have been terastalized to enhance their signature types. These battles will test your strategy and adaptation, so adjust your team according to each leader’s weaknesses.

After defeating all eight Gym Leaders, Geeta will contact you via Rotom Phone, thanking you for your work and requesting your return to Orange/Grape Academy. Find her in the school’s entrance hall, where she will propose a private conversation. Proceed together to your dormitory. There, Geeta will ask four crucial questions about your experience: which Gym Leader was the easiest to defeat, which did you find most powerful, which offered the greatest tactical challenge, and which is your personal favorite. Your answers will shape the dialogue but will not affect the rewards. As a thank you, Geeta will give you a King’s Rock, an essential item for evolutions like Politoed or Slowking. She will then mention your participation in an upcoming tournament and suggest you rest. After you leave, sleep in your bed to save your progress and unlock new post-game events.
ACADEMY ACE TOURNAMENT
After completing all the main storylines and helping Geeta with the gym leader inspections, a week passes and the day of the Academy Ace Tournament arrives, the grand student tournament conceived by Nemona. Upon waking up in your dorm, she bursts into your room with her usual energy to remind you that the event has finally begun. She asks you to meet her at the academy’s reception, where everything will be explained in detail.
Upon arriving at the Entrance Hall, you will find a new employee behind the counter. From now on, whenever you want to enter the tournament, you should speak to him. In your first participation, the list of opponents will be fixed, but in subsequent times, the participants will rotate. This means that in each new tournament you may face different trainers, including teachers, employees, and even your closest friends.
The Academy Ace Tournament format functions as a challenge of four consecutive battles. Your Pokémon will be automatically healed after each fight, and you can perform a Telecaster on one Pokémon in each battle. However, there are no breaks to switch your team’s first Pokémon, nor is there access to the Box. Everything happens sequentially, so it’s important to enter the tournament with a well-structured team, with varied type coverage and solid strategies.
Upon confirming your participation at the counter, you are taken to the battlefield in Mesagoza’s central square, where the atmosphere is one of total celebration and where all the battles will take place.
In their first participation, these will be their opponents:
Arven uses Greedent level 67, Cloyster level 67, Skovillain level 67, Toedscruel level 67, Garganacl level 67, and Mabosstiff level 68 terastalized to Dark.
Jacq enters soon after with Arcanine level 67, Lurantis level 67, Swalot level 67, Mudsdale level 67, Slowbro level 67, and Farigiraf level 68 terastalized to Psychic.
Dendra appears next with Falinks level 65, Paldean Tauros Blaze level 65, Paldean Tauros Aqua level 65, Medicham level 65, Hawlucha level 65, and Hariyama level 66 terastalized to Fighting.
The final is against Top Champion Geeta, with Espathra level 69, Gogoat level 69, Veluza level 69, Avalugg level 69, Kingambit level 69 and Glimmora level 70 upgraded to Rock.
After winning your first tournament, new possibilities open up. In future appearances, you may face any of the following trainers, in addition to those you have already faced:
Hassel brings a Dragon-type team with level 67 Noivern, level 67 Haxorus, level 67 Dragalge, level 67 Flapple, level 67 Dragonite, and a level 68 Baxcalibur transformed into a Dragon-type Pokémon.
Miriam arrives with level 65 Hypno, level 65 Pincurchin, level 65 Sawsbuck, level 65 Glalie, level 65 Eelektross, and a level 66 Toxapex transformed into a Poison-type Pokémon.
Raifort fights using level 65 Zoroark, level 65 Seviper, level 65 Grumpig, level 65 Lumineon, level 65 Scizor, and a level 66 Gengar transformed into a Ghost-type Pokémon.
Saguaro presents level 65 Pachirisu, level 65 Froslass, level 65 Alomomola, level 65 Vespiquen, level 65 Goodra, and a level 66 Hatterene transformed into a Fairy-type Pokémon.
Salvatore comes with a level 65 Honchkrow, a level 65 Persian, a level 65 Palossand, a level 65 Glaceon, a level 65 Gothitelle, and a level 66 Raichu transformed into Electric.
Tyme uses a level 65 Lycanroc Midday form, a level 65 Lycanroc Midnight form, a level 65 Drednaw, a level 65 Stonjourner, a level 65 Coalossal, and a level 66 Garganac transformed into Rock.
Penny appears with her typical team of Eevee evolutions, using Umbreon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, and Leafeon, all at level 69, and a level 70 Sylveon transformed into Fairy.
Nemona brings her strongest possible team, with Lycanroc level 71, Goodra level 71, Dudunsparce level 71, Orthworm level 71, Pawmot level 71, and her starter at level 72, sterilized for her primary type, always choosing the one that has an advantage over her own.
In addition to them, there’s also a chance to face Director Clavell again. Your team depends on the starter you chose at the beginning of your journey.
If you started with Sprigatito, he uses level 65 Oranguru, level 65 Abomasnow, level 65 Polteageist, level 65 Amoongus, level 65 Gyarados, and level 66 Skeledirge terastalized to Fire.
If you chose Fuecoco, he uses level 65 Oranguru, level 65 Abomasnow, level 65 Polteageist, level 65 Houndoom, level 65 Amoongus, and level 66 Quaquaval terastalized to Water.
If you chose Quaxly, he uses level 65 Oranguru, level 65 Abomasnow, level 65 Polteageist, level 65 Gyarados, level 65 Houndoom, and level 66 Meowscarada terastalized to Grass.
The Academy Ace Tournament is an excellent way to test your skills, earn money, train your team, and revisit several important characters in challenging battles. Each new edition may bring different opponents, keeping the tournament always interesting. Furthermore, completing the tournament repeatedly is one of the fundamental steps to unlock extra post-game content. Thus, actively participating in this event is a natural part of the process of becoming a true champion among champions in Paldea.
YOUR FRIENDS’ DORMITORIES
After participating in the Academy Ace Tournament for the first time, you’ll encounter Nemona, Arven, and Penny at various points around the school, initiating small sequences of events that deepen the development of these characters and show how each of them is coping with life after everything you’ve been through together. By talking to them a few times, you unlock access to each of their personal dormitories, allowing you to visit their private spaces and learn more about their feelings and plans for the future. There are no material rewards involved, but following these stories adds a lot of personality to the post-game and reinforces the feeling of friendship built throughout the journey.
NEMONA’S BEDROOM
The first time Nemona appears is in the schoolyard, in the center of the court. She mentions that she’s looking for opponents to continue training and stay sharp for future tournament battles, always eager to find someone willing to duel. Later, you find her in the cafeteria, trying to challenge a student who runs away as soon as he realizes she’s the Paldea champion. Nemona is disappointed, certain that battling even when losing is fun and educational, and promises to try again when the boy finds the courage.
Next, Nemona is in the school shop. She mentions that she encountered the same student, but he refused once again, saying she’s too strong and would be crushed. Nemona doesn’t like being seen as an unattainable prodigy, since all her skill comes from hard work and dedication, not innate talent. She sets off once more in search of someone willing to fight. Finally, you find her in Classroom 1A. She asks to speak privately and takes you to her dorm room. There, Nemona reveals her most sincere feelings about battles and about you. She explains the difficulty she has connecting with people because many believe she was born different, with a natural talent, when in reality everything was achieved through hard work. She admits that she used to hold back to avoid alienating people, but now, having you as a rival, she can be honest and give her all. She asks that you become true rivals and permanently opens her dorm room for you to visit whenever you want.
ARVEN’S BEDROOM
Arven first appears in the cafeteria, reflecting on his participation in the tournament. He admits he got beaten and realizes his closest friends are all at a very high level. Penny works with the Pokémon League, Nemona is a champion, you’re a renowned trainer, and he feels like the most ordinary of them all. After some thought, he decides his new treasure hunt will be to discover more about himself and his father or mother by researching their past as students at the school.
The second interaction takes place in the principal’s office. Clavell is showing Arven old documents, revealing that Sada or Turo studied there and was obsessed with research from a young age. Arven is surprised to learn that this office was once the laboratory of the professor who so greatly influenced his life. Excited, he rushes off to investigate further.
Next, you find Arven at the school entrance, carefully examining the bookshelves. He finds an old copy of the Scarlet Book or Violet Book and begins to analyze it differently, not focusing solely on the Herba Mystica pages. He notices references to a mysterious Pokémon, although the image is blurry, and is intrigued to realize that creatures from the past or future appear in the book even before the time machine existed. He comments that it’s all strange, but fascinating.
Finally, Arven calls him to Classroom 2G and takes him to his dorm room, named Chez Arven. He explains that he went back to reading the pages about Herba Mystica and remembered the time when Mabosstiff was sick. Now, realizing how much the food he prepared helped his friend, he decides he wants to study culinary arts and become known not for his parents’ research, but for his own recipes focused on the well-being of Pokémon. From that moment on, his dorm room is always open to you.
Penny’s bedroom
Your first post-tournament encounter with Penny takes place at the school entrance. She’s discreetly observing the Team Star leaders, who have recently returned to classes. Penny worries about whether they’ll be able to adapt without repeating past behaviors. She and you witness a conversation between Giacomo and Ortega, and Penny fears they’ll be rejected. However, when they begin interacting with other students, everyone reacts naturally and positively. Penny is reassured and leaves.
Later, you find Penny at the school store. This time she’s watching Atticus trying to buy ninja-themed outfits. Since the items were sold out, Atticus decides to look for the student who bought them and beg for a piece. Penny finds the situation strange, but Atticus’s friend shows up with one of the outfits and solves the problem. She’s happy to see that Atticus isn’t alone.
In the art room, Penny is worried because she heard rumors that Team Star was going to invade the art room, but she soon realizes it was just gossip fueled by old fears. Mela and Eri show up, but instead of causing trouble, they just want information about the art club. Mela gets shy, Eri tries to help her, and things clear up. They even announce that they will open a fight club together, showing how Team Star is finding new paths within the school. Penny feels proud of her friends.

She admits that she still tends to try to solve everything alone, but is grateful to have you, Nemona, Arven, and the legendary Pokémon by her side. With this, you gain access to Penny’s dorm room.
Thus, by visiting the dormitories of your three main companions, you witness the emotional epilogue of each one, understanding their fears, ambitions, and plans for the future. It’s a heartwarming conclusion to the personal journeys that walked alongside your own adventure.
