Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Walkthrough

Complete walkthrough with step-by-step strategy guide for the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

THE TEAL MASK

As soon as you open the game, Jacq calls you with some news: every year there’s a special field trip organized in partnership with another school, but very few students are selected to participate. This time, your name is on that list. The trip will take you to the lands of Kitakami, a place far from Paldea, full of traditions, ancient stories, and new Pokémon.

The first thing you should do is go to Naranja or Uva Academy. Upon entering the building, you’ll find a short-haired woman named Briar. She’s a teacher at Blueberry Academy, located in Unova, and informs you that this year’s field trip is under her school’s responsibility. Briar explains that the same mysterious energy used in the Terastal phenomenon has also been detected in Kitakami. Jacq then registers the Kitakami Pokédex on her Rotom Phone and lets you continue with Briar.

When you’re ready to travel, speak to Briar again. She mentions the Scarlet Book or the Violet Book and reveals that she’s a descendant of the author of that historical book. She possesses an original copy and reads an excerpt about Terapagos, a Pokémon found by her ancestor deep within Area Zero. Briar’s dream is to visit this place and study Terapagos in person, but she’s not allowed. The other selected students appear, and soon you board a small plane bound for Kitakami.

KITAKAMI

The tour group disembarks at a bus stop at the top of a road. Briar gives a brief presentation of the region and points out Mossui Town on the horizon, the village that will serve as the base for the trip. One of the students feels unwell and needs help, so Briar asks you to go ahead to Mossui Town to inform the caretaker of the community center that the group is on its way. She stays with the others.

From here, you’re in open country. You can explore freely, collect items, battle trainers, and observe the new Pokémon of Kitakami, but you can’t yet ride Koraidon or Miraidon. Therefore, to make your life easier, leave the complete exploration for later. Follow the main road to its end. When you open the map for the first time, you’ll see that you can now switch between the Paldea map and the Kitakami map using the L and R buttons. You can also fast travel between the two places without any restrictions. Even the bus stop where you disembarked now functions as a Fly point in Kitakami.

One peculiarity of this region is that the day and night cycle operates independently of Paldea. This only becomes relevant after you complete the Kitakami storyline. While in the main storyline, the time of day will be controlled by the narrative, changing only when the story demands it. This is important if you need to evolve Pokémon that depend on nighttime. If the story keeps Kitakami stuck in daylight, simply return to Paldea to perform evolutions or nighttime encounters. When the plot progresses to allow for natural time changes, you can explore Kitakami at night normally.

Head towards the village. It will be the main hub for everything that happens in the first part of the DLC.

MOSSUI TOWN

As soon as you cross the entrance to Mossui Town, you find two young men arguing in front of the community center. They are Carmine and his younger brother, Kieran. Carmine, always protective and suspicious of outsiders, doesn’t like the idea of someone from outside the village circulating and soon challenges you to a battle.

Carmine uses Poochyena, Vulpix, and Poltchageist, all at level sixty. After defeating her, the community center caretaker appears. Carmine and Kieran flee angrily, and you inform the caretaker that your colleagues are arriving. He asks you to go inside the community center while he goes to pick up the rest of the group at the bus stop.

Inside the building, the caretaker shows everyone around. He points out the dormitories, which will serve as temporary accommodation for the students from Paldea and Blueberry Academy. When the tour ends, Briar gathers everyone to prepare dinner, and the group spends the night there. They can simply enter through the dormitory doors to rest and heal their Pokémon.

KITAKAMI

The following day, Briar formally introduces Carmine and Kieran to the group. Since both grew up in Kitakami, they will act as local guides. The caretaker announces the day’s activity. The excursion will be divided into pairs, and each pair must find three wooden plaques scattered throughout the area. Each plaque features a verse from local folklore. To complete the activity, you must take a photo in front of each one.

The caretaker hands over the Roto Stick, a kind of selfie stick that extends the reach of the Rotom Phone’s camera. The button to open the camera remains the down arrow, and the Y button switches between the front and rear cameras. With selfie mode activated, simply press X to extend the Roto Stick. You also get a new, exclusive facial expression and the option to change the background music of photos by holding ZL or ZR.

As part of the spirit of the excursion, Briar encourages pairings with students from different schools. When speaking with Carmine, she mentions that Kieran was eager to battle you. Accept the duel. Kieran uses Sentret and Yanma, both around level sixty. After the fight, Carmine says that Kieran will be happy to team up with you. The caretaker marks the three mandatory signs on the map and reveals the location of the village shop. From this point on, you are free to explore Kitakami.

The first suggested destination is Loyalty Plaza, and Kieran decides to start there. He’ll go ahead, but you can go at your own pace just by following the map.

Apple Hills

Before leaving Mossui Town, it’s worth noting a few details. Next to the community center, you’ll find a nurse who takes care of the Pokémon. She performs the same function as the Pokémon Center nurses, but has a rather peculiar demeanor. She’s always distracted by the Rotom Phone and doesn’t like being spoken to from behind. Always speak facing the counter to get service.

Right next to it, there’s a TM Machine. A new feature has been added to it. By pressing X, you can select a Pokémon from your team, and the machine will filter only the TMs that Pokémon can learn, making it much easier to create custom moves.

Following the nurse’s path to the right, you’ll reach the village grocery store, where you can buy useful items. Pick up the items scattered around town and, when you’re ready, exit to the left of the community center.

Once you pass through the gate, Koraidon or Miraidon will be available for riding again. You enter Apple Hills, an area full of hills and dirt paths. The map shows a main road that leads directly to Loyalty Plaza, but you can explore all along the way to find items and trainers before moving on.

Near the entrance to Loyalty Plaza, a young man will approach you to automatically update the menu on your Rotom Phone. After that, go through the triangular stone portal and enter Loyalty Plaza to continue your adventure through the history of Kitakami, where the region’s folklore and secrets begin to take shape.

LOYALTY PLAZA

Upon arriving at Loyalty Plaza, approach the large wooden plaque and read the text engraved on it. Shortly after, Kieran appears, breathless and excited to have found you there. He looks at the plaque with you and summarizes the story written on it. The legend tells of a fearsome ogre who lived in the Kitakami mountains. One day, overcome with fury, he descended upon the village, frightening all the inhabitants. To protect the people, the Pokémon Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti confronted the ogre in a violent battle and, according to tradition, lost their lives to drive him away. They became known as the Loyal Three. The village erected statues in honor of the trio and declared them heroes of Kitakami.

Kieran mentions that, when he was little, he used to go to the mountain at night hoping to find the ogre, but he never succeeded. He seems quite fascinated by the legendary figure, unlike the other residents who are afraid of the story. Before continuing on your way, take a selfie with Kieran next to the sign, recording the first stage of the excursion activity.

After the photo, Kieran asks if you’d like to have a picnic with him and if you like sandwiches. At that moment, his Koraidon or Miraidon appears, all excited, startling Kieran, who even asks if his partner is some kind of giant monster. After the scare, he cheers up and says that the next place to visit is Kitakami Hall, the point where the second tour sign is located. This area is on the other side of the village, so go back to Mossui Town and get ready to cross a new region of Kitakami.

REVELER’S ROAD

Once you return to Mossui Town, exit through the right side of the community center and cross the bridge. This puts you on the road called Reveler’s Road. Just ahead, near a lone tree, is Jacq. Before speaking to him, it’s recommended to manually save your game. Jacq invites you to a picnic and, during the gathering, gives you a Pokémon egg. This egg can hatch into one of the three Sinnoh starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup. The result is completely random. If you’re specifically looking for one of them, simply reset the game and speak to Jacq again until you get what you want.

Continue exploring Reveler’s Road at your own pace. The main road shown on the map leads directly to Kitakami Hall. Collect items, battle some trainers, and when you want to advance the story, follow the path until you reach the village’s grand building.

KITAKAMI HALL

Kitakami Hall is a large, traditional building with folkloric decorations and several outdoor areas to explore. Look for the second sign indicated on the map. Upon arrival, Kieran appears once again, interested in learning what is written there. The sign describes that the ogre possessed four magical masks, each with specific powers. With the teal mask, he could regenerate dead vegetation. With the crimson mask, he had power over flames. The blue mask allowed him to control water, and the gray mask gave him immense strength to split rocks in half. After falling in the fight, the three loyal followers managed to steal three masks from the ogre, thus weakening him.

Kieran explains that these three stolen masks were kept as relics and are now stored inside Kitakami Hall. He also reveals that he has always admired the ogre, despite everyone being afraid of him. Kieran wants to become stronger, not depend so much on his sister, and be able to solve things on his own. Take another picture together in front of the second sign and get ready to climb the mountain towards the ogre’s lair. Kieran shows you where the stairs leading up the mountain are.

ONI’S MAW

The mountain has several routes and uneven terrain. The southern part is called Oni’s Maw, a narrow path between rocks that is very helpful for those who want to avoid difficult climbs. The Dreaded Den, the ogre’s cave, is located in a very high area and is difficult to access in a straight line. Therefore, the simplest route is to follow the map to the left, cross Oni’s Maw and continue until a fork in the path with a sign indicating what is in each direction. Ignore the left path to Infernal Pass for now. Take the right path and follow it until you find the desired location.

Dreaded Den

Kieran will already be waiting for you at the cave entrance. He mentions that, despite having visited the place countless times, he has never encountered the ogre, but believes that perhaps it will appear if it witnesses a Pokémon battle. He heals your team and challenges you to a friendly battle.

Kieran uses Furret level sixty-two, Yanma level sixty-two, and Poliwhirl level sixty-six.

After winning, he mentions that Blueberry Academy focuses on high-level battles and that he wants to excel at the school. He then asks you to accompany him inside the cave, as he feels they are being watched.

The dark cave seems empty, but as soon as you leave, it’s already getting dark. Kieran decides to leave the third plaque for the next day and reminds you that the mask festival is starting at Kitakami Hall. Before going to the festival, he invites you to stop by his house in Mossui Town. Kitakami will remain locked at twilight until you advance the story, so take the opportunity to do whatever you need before moving on to the brothers’ story.

Kieran and Carmine’s House

Upon arriving at the family’s residence, you meet the siblings’ grandparents. They warmly welcome you and dress you in a jinbei, traditional clothing worn at the festival, and adjust your hairstyle to match the local style. They also give you the Teal Style Card, which unlocks new clothing and hairstyles in the shops.

Carmine appears searching for the festival masks, stored in a nearby cabin. She and Kieran race to get there. Upon finding them, Carmine discovers that there are only two masks available and says you’ll be left without yours. To resolve this, she battles you using a team consisting of Morpeko, Swadloon, Mightyena, and Sinistcha, all around level sixty.

After the battle, Kieran tries to offer you his own mask, but Carmine stops him, saying you can get yours at the festival. After she leaves, Kieran admits that his sister was looking for another mask for you before your arrival but couldn’t find one. He heads to the festival, and you must accompany him to Kitakami Hall. From now on, the game’s timeline will be stuck at night until further progress.

Mask Festival and Ogre Game

The arrival at the festival reveals a vibrant scene. Many people are celebrating, wearing masks of the Three Loyalists. Carmine asks to take a picture with you and Kieran to mark the moment. She explains that the festival is held in honor of the region’s folk heroes. Kieran teases his sister, saying she doesn’t know the real story behind the masks. He then heads to a candy apple stand, inviting you to join him.

After receiving a candied apple, Kieran points to a Pokémon that resembles an apple and goes after it. Follow the boy until you reach a stall where the ogre minigame takes place. Since you are a visitor, the merchant allows you to play for free. Carmine appears and tells you his own score, challenging you to beat it.

The minigame is a race against time. You need to collect berries by popping colored balloons while riding your legendary Pokémon. Each color represents a specific table on the field, and you must deliver the correct berries by pressing A when you are in front of the corresponding table. Greedy Pokémon may try to steal your berries from the tables, and you must scare them away by pressing R. Complete all the tables before time runs out. If you win, you receive the Exp. Charm, which increases all the experience gained in the game.

After that, search around the festival for a child wearing a strange mask. As you get closer, it becomes clear that it’s not a child, but rather the ogre Pokémon. The child runs away, Carmine appears trying to control the situation, and the mask falls off, revealing everything. You catch the Teal Mask. Carmine doesn’t want Kieran to know what happened, as he knows Kieran is obsessed with the ogre and fears he might get into danger. Join Kieran at the festival entrance, and he’ll take you back to the community center.

The next morning, Carmine calls you outside the community center. She wants you to visit her grandfather so he can evaluate the mask. Go to the family home. Before you can talk, Kieran wakes up and is sent outside while Carmine deals with the situation with you.

Show the Teal Mask to your grandfather. He immediately recognizes that it belongs to the ogre. Carmine doesn’t understand how the ogre could have gone to the festival if everyone believes him to be a villain. Your grandfather then reveals the true story of Ogerpon, a tale quite different from the folklore told on the plaques.

According to him, a man and an ogre came together from another land and tried to live in Kitakami. The village rejected them, and they were forced to live in a cave. Only the mask maker offered help and made shiny masks so they could blend in with the people at the festival without revealing their faces. Over time, the fame of the masks attracted greedy Pokémon who invaded the cave and stole three of the four masks. The man tried to defend them but disappeared, leaving behind only the Teal Mask.

Ogerpon ran to the village in search of his friend and found the invaders with the stolen masks. He defeated the trio, but the people, unaware of anything, thought that the Pokémon had sacrificed themselves to protect the village from the furious ogre. Thus were born the three loyal Pokémon and their distorted legend.

Carmine wants to tell the village everything immediately, but his grandfather insists the truth must remain hidden. When a family ancestor told this story, he was ridiculed as a liar. Therefore, the family has kept the secret for generations. The grandfather promises to tell Kieran the truth at the right time.

He notices that his Teal Mask has a damaged jewel and asks for it to be repaired. At that moment, the game reveals that Kieran was secretly listening to the entire conversation, surprised and confused. While the grandfather works on the mask, Carmine asks you to find Kieran and continue the excursion, as the story is about to take an even more intense turn.

After all the tension surrounding the ogre and the masks, you’ll find Kieran at the Mossui Town grocery store. He mentions that the last sign for the tour is at Paradise Barrens, in the upper left corner of the Kitakami map. Before heading there, he asks if you know anything about the ogre’s true story and is visibly disappointed by your silence. Even so, he asks you to go ahead, saying he’ll be there later.

But before we delve deeper into the plot, this is the perfect time to explore the entire region and record the fast travel points. Kitakami has six special locations, known as the six wonders of Kitakami. Visiting them activates new Fly points that will be extremely useful in the next chapters of the story. Prepare your Koraidon or Miraidon and begin your tour of the region.

MOSSFELL CONFLUENCE

In the southernmost part of the map, you’ll find the point where two rivers meet. This location is called Mossfell Confluence and houses one of the wonder plaques. As soon as you approach the plaque, the Fly point will be automatically registered. Nearby, there’s a hut where you can buy the Syrupy Apple item, necessary to evolve Applin into Dipplin, so take advantage of this if you’re completing your Kitakami Pokédex.

FELLHORN GORGE AND FALLEN HORN

Heading east from Kitakami Hall, you’ll see a large river with stone islands scattered throughout. Look for the sign north of the central island, the largest of them all. This sign identifies the location as Fallen Horn, one of the region’s wonders. Noting this point will greatly facilitate future trips to the eastern part of the map.

ONI MOUNTAIN AND INFERNAL PASS

Now turn your attention to the central mountain of Kitakami. Near the entrance to Oni’s Maw, there’s a lighter-colored area on the map, indicating the rugged terrain of the Infernal Pass. Walk along the fork that leads to the Dreaded Den and look around as soon as the rocky biome begins. The Infernal Pass sign is right at the start of this area. Go past it to unlock another Fly point.

ONI MOUNTAIN AND CRYSTAL POOL

At the top of Oni Mountain lies one of Kitakami’s most beautiful and mysterious spots: the Crystal Pool. The lake is deep and illuminated by sparkling crystals within. The sign for this wonder is right in front of the water. As you approach it, the Fly point will be added to your list. Remember this place, as it will be very important soon.

WISTFUL FIELDS AND WISTERIA POND

Now head to the southwest corner of the map. There you’ll find a small lake surrounded by colorful vegetation. This is Wisteria Pond, another of Kitakami’s wonders. The sign is located in front of the lake. Walk past it to register your Fly point. Many trainers miss this spot due to its size, so take your time exploring it.

KITAKAMI WILDS AND GRACIOUS STONES

The last wonder is located in the northern region, between the river that cuts through the Kitakami Wilds and the drier lands of Paradise Barrens. On the map, you’ll see a light circle in the grass. Going there, you’ll find a circle of stones with a sign identifying the location as Gracious Stones. Activate the Fly point and complete your list of six wonders. Now you can travel between all the regions of Kitakami quickly.

PARADISE BARRENS

With everything prepared, head to Paradise Barrens, in the northwest of the map. As soon as you reach the third tour sign, Kieran appears. He comments, still hurt, that the ogre used to stroll around there at dusk. Then, he challenges you to another battle, trying to prove that he’s getting stronger.

Kieran uses Yanma level sixty-four, Furret level sixty-four, Poliwrath level sixty-six, and Dipplin level sixty-seven.

Defeat him and then read the sign. The text warns never to walk at twilight without a mask, for anyone who shows their face to the mysterious figure will be condemned. If the shadow is a man, you will live to tell the tale. If it is the ogre, it will be your end. This tradition originated as a way to encourage the villagers to always wear masks at night, but Kieran dislikes the way the text portrays the ogre, reinforcing fear and loneliness surrounding him.

After taking the last photo, the field trip activity is complete. Kieran says he needs to rest and think about what to do next, then return home. Go back to the community center and sleep in the dormitories to continue.

CRYSTAL POOL

The next morning, one of your colleagues says that Carmine wants to see you immediately. Go to her house. The grandfather explains that to repair the Teal Mask, he needs a rare material called Crystal Cluster, found only in the Crystal Pool.

Follow the path to the lake at the top of the mountain. Carmine is waiting and points to the crystal-clear bottom. She mentions that some legends say the Crystal Pool can even reflect the spirits of the dead. Before you dive in to find the crystal, a tremor occurs and a gigantic Milotic emerges from the water. You and Carmine engage in a Raid Battle against it.

Milotic level seventy-three.

After defeating Milotic, he drops a Crystal Cluster. Pick it up. Briar appears soon after, explaining that she received permission to study the terastalized properties of the lake’s water. She confirms that this place emanates the same energy as the Terastal phenomenon and makes it clear that if she can understand this energy, she may be able to apply terastalization to other regions someday. With the Crystal Cluster in hand, return to Mossui Town.

Upon arriving, Carmine’s grandfather reveals something alarming. Kieran stole the Teal Mask and fled. He was seen running towards Loyalty Plaza. Go after him immediately.

LOYALTY PLAZA

Find Kieran and talk to him. He’s distraught. He says he’s discovered the whole truth about the ogre and is furious that you and Carmine hid this story from him. He’ll only return the mask if he’s defeated in battle.

Kieran uses Yanmega level sixty-eight, Gligar level sixty-six, Cramorant level sixty-five, Dipplin level sixty-nine, and Poliwrath level seventy-one.

After the battle, Kieran returns the Teal Mask, but flees deeply frustrated. An earthquake shakes the ground. The statues of the three loyal warriors glow intensely, and in a single flash, the sanctuary is destroyed. To his astonishment, Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti appear alive and enormous. They flee towards Kitakami Hall. There is no time to lose. Go there quickly.

KITAKAMI HALL

Upon arriving, the caretaker explains that the three loyal warriors were searching for their ancient masks, which were kept there. He returned the masks without resistance, believing this would appease the creatures. Furthermore, villagers fed them Kitakami Mochi, which made them even stronger. He recounts that they then headed for Oni Mountain, likely seeking to strike the ogre again.

Carmine appears and warns that, without the restored mask, Ogerpon is completely unprotected. She asks you to go to the Dreaded Den to find the ogre and keep him safe while she returns home and repairs the Teal Mask with the Crystal Cluster. Deliver the materials to her and leave immediately. Your new mission is to protect Ogerpon at all costs, as the three loyal ones have awakened and are prepared for a second hunt.

DREADED DEN
Upon arriving at the entrance of the Dreaded Den, you will witness the three loyalists confronting Ogerpon. Intervene immediately to protect the legendary creature. Munkidori will advance first, challenging you to an intense battle. Focus your most powerful attacks to defeat him quickly, as he is level seventy. Once you win, Carmine and Kieran will arrive, causing the three loyalists to retreat. Kieran will apologize for stealing the mask and attempt to return the repaired Teal Mask directly to Ogerpon, but she shows apprehension. Realizing the ogre trusts you, take the mask from Kieran and give it to Ogerpon, who will immediately don it. Carmine then proposes recovering the other three masks stolen by the loyalists and forming the “Recovery Squad.” Ogerpon will then follow you as the group returns to Mossui Town to plan their next move.

MOSSUI TOWN
As you approach Mossui Town, Ogerpon will hesitate to enter due to the villagers’ history of hostility. Leave her waiting on the outskirts while you gather information. Look for three specific inhabitants with dialogue balloons mentioning Okidogi, Munkidori, or Fezandipiti. A fisherman near the river will talk about Okidogi sightings in the Peaceful Barrens. An elderly woman at the market will reveal that Munkidori frequent the lake in Wistful Fields. A farmer at the village entrance will point to Fezandipiti in the mountainous region of Oni Mountain. Gather these clues with Carmine, who will update your map with the exact locations. Kieran, distant and introspective, will decide to leave the group. Now, choose which of the three loyalists to confront first and proceed to your chosen destination with Carmine.

PARADISE BARRENS
In the arid Paradise Barrens, Okidogi awaits like an imposing titan, now at level eighty-five thanks to the power of the masks. Upon approaching, Carmine will join you for an epic Raid Battle. Prioritize psychic or ground-type attacks to exploit his weaknesses. After defeating him, Ogerpon will retrieve the Cornerstone Mask, showing his gratitude with a nod.

WISTERIA POND
Head to the serene Wisteria Pond, where Munkidori floats on the water, also at level eighty-five. Carmine will again assist in the battle. Use Ghost or Electric-type attacks to quickly subdue him. Upon victory, Ogerpon will claim the Wellspring Mask, displaying it proudly.

FELLHORN GORGE
In the steep Fellhorn Gorge, Fezandipiti flies over the ravines. Chase it to a nearby cave, where it will try to lose you. Go through the underground passage and face it on the other side with Carmine’s support. Steel or Poison-type moves are effective against its Fairy/Poison type. Upon defeating it at level eighty-five, Ogerpon will retrieve the Hearthflame Mask.

DREADED DEN
With all the masks recovered, return to the Dreaded Den. Kieran reappears, asking for your trust to take Ogerpon to Mossui Town. There, the entire village, led by the caretaker and Carmine’s grandfather, begs forgiveness from the legendary creature. Kieran reveals that he told the true story, transforming fear into acceptance. Upon returning to the cave, Ogerpon expresses a desire to join you, not Kieran. Frustrated, he challenges you to a decisive battle. Your team includes Shiftry level seventy-one, Yanmega level seventy-two, Dipplin level seventy-two, Probopass level seventy-one, Poliwrath level seventy-two, and Gliscor level seventy-six. Use varied strategies, such as ice attacks against Gliscor or electric attacks against Poliwrath. After defeating Kieran, Ogerpon will test its strength, facing you in its four consecutive Teal forms: Hearthflame Mask (Fire type, level 70), Wellspring Mask (Water type, level 70), Cornerstone Mask (Rock type, level 70), and Teal Mask (Grass type, level 70). Exploit its weaknesses with Water, Grass, Ground, or Flying type moves. Capturing it is guaranteed, and you will receive all four masks as a reward.

LOYALTY PLAZA
The next day, after resting at the community center, find Carmine at the Loyalty Plaza. She wants a friendly battle with Ogerpon on her team. Equip one of the masks to change your form during combat. Carmine uses Mightyena level seventy, Morpeko level seventy-one, Leavanny level seventy-two, Ninetales level seventy-two, and Sinistcha level seventy-four. After the victory, Briar summons everyone to the community center, where the caretaker gives Kitakami Mochi as a thank you. Carmine bids you farewell, inviting you to visit Blueberry Academy, while Kieran, in his room, vows to become stronger.

With the main story concluded, Kitakami now operates on a day/night cycle independent of Paldea. The three loyal Pokémon can be found in their original locations: Okidogi in the Paradise Barrens, Munkidori in the Wisteria Pond, and Fezandipiti in the Oni Mountain, all at level seventy. Prepare Ultra Balls or Timer Balls and equip Pokémon with status conditions like Sleep or Paralysis to make them easier to catch.

MONEY WITH BILLY & O’NARE
In Mossui Town, talk to the informant next to the closed warehouse near the community center. She will reveal the location of the wealthy couple in seven consecutive encounters. Use a Pokémon holding an Amulet Coin and, if possible, perform Happy Hour to maximize your gains. In the first encounter (Apple Hills), defeat O’nare (Persian level sixty-five) to receive P$12,000. In the second (Fury Falls, Paldea), earn 15 Big Pearls. In the third (South Province Area Five), obtain 15 Nuggets. In the fourth (Apple Hills again), defeat O’nare once more (Persian level sixty-five) for P$15,000. In the fifth (Casseroya Lake), receive 10 Pearl Strings. In the sixth (Glaseado Mountain), collect 10 Big Nuggets. In the seventh level (Great Crater of Paldea), defeat O’nare (Arboliva level sixty-five and Persian level sixty-nine) to earn P$20,000, 25 Big Nuggets, and the Glitterati Case for your Rotom Phone.

LOYALTY PLAZA RESTORATION
Visit the caretaker in Kitakami Hall. He will solicit donations to rebuild the destroyed statues of the three loyalists. Donate P$10,000 or P$100,000 at a time, receiving Pretty Feathers as a thank you. Upon accumulating P$1,000,000, the statues will be restored. The caretaker will take you to the renovated Loyalty Plaza, teach you an exclusive photographic technique, and gift you with traditional Kitakami attire.

KITAKAMI OGRE CLAN
Talk to the man in black on the Kitakami Hall staircase to unlock this quest. Seven clan members, identified by Ogerpon masks, are scattered throughout Kitakami. Defeat them all to face the leader. Find Raikiri (Electric type) in the Apple Hills cave: Raichu level seventy-five, Probopass level seventy-five, Luxray level seventy-six, Vikavolt level seventy-seven. Locate Masamune (Fairy type) in Mossfell Confluence: Grimmsnarl level seventy-five, Gardevoir level seventy-five, Ribombee level seventy-six, Clefable level seventy-seven. Find Hasebe (Rainy weather) in Fellhorn Gorge: Politoed level seventy-five, Ludicolo level seventy-five, Drednaw level seventy-six, Basculegion level seventy-seven. Each victory grants items such as Thunder Stones or Moon Stones. After defeating the seven, the leader will challenge you to a level eighty battle at the Crystal Pool.

PARADISE BARRENS – KANEMITSU, THE SUNNY WEATHER SPECIALIST
To face Kanemitsu, fly to Paradise Barrens and head right on the map. You’ll find her strategically positioned between two “C”-shaped rock formations, near a large boulder. Prepare for a battle under intense sun, as her team is optimized for sunny weather. Kanemitsu uses a level 75 Ninetales to activate the Drought ability, enhancing her fire attacks. Her full team includes a level 75 Shiftry, a level 76 Chandelure, and a level 77 Lilligant. Prioritize Water-type moves against Ninetales and Chandelure, Bug-type moves against Shiftry, and Flying-type moves against Lilligant to quickly neutralize her threats.

INFERNAL PASS – KUNITSUNA, THE ROCK AND ICE TYPE SPECIALIST
Fly to Infernal Pass and locate the small lake to the left of the mountain, indicated by a blue spot on the map. Kunitsuna awaits there with a resilient and synergistic team. He opens with a level 75 Carbink, creating a protective field for his allies. His full team consists of a level 75 Golem, a level 76 Froslass, and a level 77 Mamoswine. Use Steel-type attacks against Froslass, Water or Grass-type attacks against Golem and Carbink, and Fighting-type attacks against Mamoswine. Take advantage of Kunitsuna’s lack of full snowy conditions to dominate the battle.

ONI MOUNTAIN – MUNECHIKA, THE NORMAL-TYPE SPECIALIST
On the northeast flank of the Crystal Pool, climb to the elevated mountain plateau. Munechika is positioned on the edge of the cliff, with a team focused on resistance and physical attacks. He uses level 75 Ambipom to initiate with quick strikes, followed by level 75 Maushold, level 76 Greedent, and level 77 Snorlax. Against this group, prioritize Fighting-type moves to exploit their common weakness. Snorlax will require specific strategies such as life-draining or defense-reducing attacks to be defeated efficiently.

CRYSTAL POOL – KOTETSU, THE FIGHTING-TYPE SPECIALIST
Access the cave to the right of the Crystal Pool and prepare for a steep drop. Upon falling into the first hole, you will spot Kotetsu on the lower platform. Continue descending through the pits to the deepest level to face her. Her fighting team includes Heracross level seventy-five, Gallade level seventy-five, Conkeldurr level seventy-six, and Kommo-o level seventy-seven. Use Fairy- or Flying-type Pokémon to counterattack. Gallade is vulnerable to Ghost-type attacks, while Kommo-o is weak to Ice and Psychic-type attacks. After your victory, follow the tunnel to exit near the Crystal Pool.

KITAKAMI HALL – MURAMASA, THE GHOST AND DARK TYPE SPECIALIST
After defeating the previous seven members, return to the boy in black at the entrance of Kitakami Hall. He will reveal himself to be Muramasa, the clan leader, and will give you accumulated rewards: Focus Sash, five Exp. Candy L, Assault Vest, ten Rare Candy, Choice Specs, three Ability Capsules, and a Choice Band. His lethal team includes Gengar level seventy-five, Crawdaunt level seventy-five, Trevenant level seventy-six, Dusclops level seventy-seven, and Kingambit level eighty. Prioritize Ghost-type attacks against Trevenant, Bug-type attacks against Dusclops, and Fighting-type attacks against Kingambit. Victory grants an Ability Patch, an essential item for optimizing abilities.

PERRIN AND THE BLOOD MOON BEAST
In Mossui Town, find Perrin and her Hisuian Growlithe to the left of the community center. After photographing it, she will ask you to return after capturing one hundred and fifty Pokémon from the Kitakami Dex. Upon fulfilling this requirement, she will challenge you with a level sixty-eight Noctowl and a level seventy Leafeon before revealing her quest for the legendary Blood Moon Ursaluna. Head to the Timeless Woods north of Kitakami, where Perrin will set up camp.

In the forest, help her photograph ten different Pokémon during foggy nights using the Rotom Phone’s camera function. Center each creature on the screen and press A to register. With the complete data, Perrin will detect Ursaluna’s signal. Upon finding it, her flash will irritate the beast, initiating a battle against Bloodmoon Ursaluna level seventy. Treat it like a Titan Pokémon and use Fighting, Water, or Grass type attacks. Capture is guaranteed after victory.

Back in Mossui Town, Perrin will reward you with a Choice Scarf and a level fifteen Hisuian Growlithe, revealing himself to be your partner’s brother.

Complete Kitakami’s Pokédex for Jacq:
After capturing all two hundred Pokémon in the region, find Jacq on Reveler’s Road. He will give you an official diploma and the Glimmering Charm, an item that increases the number of Tera Shards obtained in Tera Raid Battles. This is the final step to fully complete the content of The Teal Mask DLC, preparing you for the Blueberry Academy in the second part of the DLC, in The Indigo Disk.

THE INDIGO DISK

We will now discuss the second part of the DLC: The Indigo Disk.

Once you’ve completed the main Paldea questline and finished Kitakami’s story, you can finally move on to the second part of the expansion. After updating the game to the necessary DLC version, you’ll receive an unexpected call from Director Clavell. He explains that the headmaster of Blueberry Academy is a close friend of his and that you’ve been invited to participate in an exchange program at this underwater school located in the Unova region. The invitation isn’t random; according to Clavell, someone personally recommended you for this opportunity, and the reason will be revealed once you arrive at your school in Mesagoza.

At the entrance to the Orange or Grape Academy, Cyrano, the headmaster of the Blueberry Academy, awaits your arrival. He is straightforward in stating that it was Carmine who suggested your name. She praised you so highly that Cyrano came to fetch you personally. After a brief conversation with Clavell, you receive official permission to travel. Simply speak to Cyrano again and the journey begins immediately.

BLUEBERRY ACADEMY

Blueberry Academy impresses from the very first moment. You and Cyrano arrive on a platform located above the sea, but most of the structure is underwater. While Cyrano shows you around, a girl approaches. It’s Lacey, one of the school’s most talented students. She has a somewhat unenthusiastic attitude towards the tasks Cyrano usually assigns, but her demeanor quickly changes when she realizes you’ve come from Paldea and are curious to see the place.

As you approach the entrance, you’ll find a battle arena right at the gate. Lacey explains that Blueberry Academy is known for its intense focus on battles and that the wild Pokémon found there can terastalize thanks to the school’s own technology. Cyrano then suggests a battle between you two. Although Lacey is visibly annoyed when he mentions that she’s part of the League Club’s Elite Four, she accepts the challenge. The only caveat is that battles at this school usually follow a double battle format, so be prepared for that.

Lacey uses Plusle and Minun at level seventy and Excadrill at level seventy-two. After defeating her, Cyrano gives you your official Blueberry Academy uniform, as well as the Indigo Style Card, which unlocks new hairstyles and more clothing options in the shops scattered throughout Paldea. Lacey then opens the way for you to see the school’s biggest attraction: the Terarium.

TERARIUM

Upon entering the gigantic submerged dome, Lacey explains how the Terarium works. Although you are at the bottom of the ocean, the environment was designed to mimic natural areas of dry land. The dome is divided into four distinct biomes. There’s the Savanna, full of open plains and dry heat. There’s the coastal area, with a tropical climate and artificial beaches. Further on, there’s the Canyon, with steep elevations and caves. Finally, there’s the Polar, where snow falls constantly thanks to the structure’s climate control. As you observe everything, Lacey asks you to say which of the four environments caught your attention the most, just to better understand your preferences.

She also points to an automatic healing machine, which serves as a substitute for the Pokémon Centers in this place. There are no attendants here, so the students themselves have to take care of their teams using these stations. Cyrano takes the opportunity to show the Terarium Core, the enormous crystal globe that shines atop the dome. It radiates energy derived from the Terastal phenomenon and is responsible for allowing wild Pokémon to freely terastalize within the Terarium.

A sudden announcement warns that a practical lesson is about to begin in the Coastal Biome. Lacey immediately calls you to go with her and registers the complete map of the Terarium on your Rotom Phone. Cyrano bids you farewell for now, also adding the Blueberry Pokédex to your device. Lacey heads to the coastal area, and you should meet her there.

Near the exit, you spot Perrin. She’s traveling around the Blueberry Academy to set up a new challenge, but says she can only pass it on to you once she’s captured two hundred Pokémon from the Blueberry Dex. You’ll deal with that later. It’s also worth noting that the Blueberry Academy uses a different environmental clock than Paldea and Kitakami. This means that the time of day inside the Terarium may not coincide with the outside world. At the beginning of the story, the time will be locked, but this will adjust as you progress.

If you need to return to other regions, simply switch maps using the L or R buttons with the map open. For now, head straight for Lacey, as there’s an essential item that will be unlocked during this sequence, and it’s worth securing before you start capturing Pokémon in the dome.

Class in the Coastal Biome

When you arrive at the Coastal Biome, Lacey greets you with a smile and the professor begins the lesson. He explains how the tropical climate influences the region’s Pokémon and gives you a simple task. You need to capture a regional Alolan form. You can find several of them right there, such as Alolan Exeggutor walking along the beach, Alolan Grimer and Muk in the dark sand areas, or Alolan Diglett and Dugtrio near the rocks.

Once you capture one of these shapes, go back and show it to the teacher to end the activity. Lacey is impressed by your speed and explains that the students at Blueberry Academy have extracurricular activities called Blueberry Quests, short for BBQs. These tasks earn Blueberry Points, or BP. With BP, you can buy items in the cafeteria and the school store, as well as participate in other League Club activities. You can view the available quests by pressing the right arrow on the Rotom Phone. For every ten completed, a bonus task appears. And if you play with friends via Union Circle, everyone earns BP by completing group missions.

Just after Lacey walks away, her Rotom Phone rings. It’s Carmine, excited to hear you’ve arrived. She wants to meet you at Central Plaza, the heart of the Terarium and the point where the four biomes connect. Go there to continue to the next part of your adventure at Blueberry Academy.

CENTRAL PLAZA

As soon as you arrive at Central Plaza, the Terarium finally follows its normal day-night cycle, operating on a rhythm independent of Paldea and Kitakami. Sometimes you’ll see time differences between the regions, which is completely normal. In the center of the dome, Carmine is talking to another student, but she quickly says goodbye upon noticing your approach. Carmine mentions that she’s been training hard helping Briar with research and that her team is stronger than ever. Without wasting any time, she flashes a competitive smile and declares that she wants to test her progress in a double-style battle, the standard format at Blueberry Academy. If Ogerpon is on her team, Carmine even mentions something special during the battle.

She uses Toucannon and Mightyena, both at level seventy-four, as well as Scrafty, also at level seventy-four, and Sinistcha at level seventy-five with terastalization for the Grass type. Adjust your strategy to deal with area-of-effect attacks, as double battles require attention to positioning and the combination of your moves. When the battle ends, you hear voices nearby. Kieran is arguing with another student, insisting that he needs to take battles seriously if he wants to improve as a trainer. Carmine comments that her brother has changed a lot since Kitakami, becoming more rigid and obsessed with strength.

A boy with white hair approaches shortly after. It’s Drayton, someone Carmine doesn’t seem to like at all. He used to be the strongest at Blueberry Academy and is part of the League Club’s Elite Four. Drayton notices you’re not yet affiliated with any of the clubs and, without ceremony, invites you to check out the League Club. Follow them to the club’s room.

LEAGUE CLUB

The League Club room serves as the base of operations for the BB League, the internal system where students compete against each other to climb the rankings. There you discover that the four best coaches in the school form the Elite Four of the BB League and that Drayton, as well as the girl who was talking to Carmine earlier, are part of this group. Carmine participates in the club, but doesn’t usually compete in ranked matches. She confesses that Drayton bothers her and she prefers to keep her distance.

Drayton shows you a special computer where students can use their BP, Blueberry Points, to help other clubs in the school. These contributions unlock rewards such as new animations, decorations for the club room, and even improvements to camera functions. He gives you two hundred BP to test the system. Use the computer and select Mitch from the Baseball Club, who is asking for one hundred and fifty BP. After contributing, Mitch will call to thank you and unlock new Poké Ball throwing animations for your character. Whenever you want to change the animation, simply contribute an additional ten BP directly through the computer.

With that resolved, Drayton gives you the Catching Charm, an item that increases your chances of critical catches, and also an official League Club uniform. He then announces that he’s hungry and heads to the cafeteria, asking you to meet him there if you really want to be part of the BB League. Carmine suggests that you two talk privately in your dorm room at the academy first.

In the bedroom, Carmine opens her heart. She confesses that she can’t stand Drayton’s lazy and arrogant ways, his constant skipping of classes, and his repeated years of schooling. At the same time, she reveals her concern for Kieran, who is no longer the quiet boy he once was and now only thinks about battles and strength. He recently defeated Drayton and took over as president of the League Club and champion of the BB League. Carmine fears that this obsession is taking her brother too far and asks you not to abandon him and to continue being a support for him. She also insists that you talk to Drayton and agree to join the BB League.

Upon leaving the dormitory, you’ll be free to explore the Terarium and other areas of Blueberry Academy, including the entrance with the battle arena, the classrooms, the cafeteria, the school shop, and the club’s indoor areas. None of that needs to be visited right now, so head straight to the cafeteria to meet up with Drayton.

Drayton is sitting at a table and asks you to join him. He comments that he believes in your potential to become a BB League champion and asks if you intend to join the championship. Before you can answer, Kieran arrives accompanied by Lacey, Crispin, and Amarys, the other three members of the Elite Four. They were summoned by Drayton to witness your possible entry into the club. Kieran is surprised to see you there, but maintains an arrogant posture, saying that he will beat anyone, regardless of the opponent.

Drayton explains that he would like to see you competing in the BB League. Crispin immediately agrees, while Lacey and Amarys are more cautious. In the end, Kieran decides to leave the decision in your hands, but makes it clear that he hopes to meet you again in a worthy battle in the future. Drayton then asks you to go to the reception desk at the school entrance to register in the official BB League system.

BB League

Speak to the receptionist and inform her that you wish to participate. She hesitates, saying that students from other schools need special authorization, but Drayton reveals that the Elite Four has already agreed to your entry. Kieran reappears and personally confirms that you should be accepted, stating that he wants to see you grow as an opponent until the moment you face each other again. Carmine observes you with concern and asks you to be careful, as he is taking things too seriously.

The receptionist completes your registration and explains how everything works. Normally, students need to climb the rankings by facing regular trainers, but since you received a direct recommendation from Cyrano and the Elite Four, you can skip steps and go straight to the challenges of the four BB League members. To complete each challenge, you will need to accumulate BP by completing tasks from the BBQs, which continue to be updated on your Rotom Phone. After defeating all four members, you can fight against the BB League champion.

PLAZAS, AREAS, OUTDOOR CLASSROOMS

Before starting the Elite Four trials, it’s crucial to record all your Fly points in the Terarium. There are three categories of important locations that serve as support bases: plazas, rest areas, and outdoor classrooms. In the plazas and rest areas, you’ll find healing machines and vending machines, functioning like local Pokémon Centers and PokéMarts. On the map, plazas are large central areas, one in each biome plus the already recorded Central Plaza. The TM Machine only appears in the Central Plaza.

Outdoor classrooms are small spaces indicated on the map as circles with two small bars on the sides, serving only to activate fast travel points. Each biome has one of them, except for the Polar Biome, which has two. Rest areas appear on the map as symbols resembling small blocks. The Savanna Biome has two rest areas, while the others have only one.

Take a complete tour of the Terarium to record all the support points. This makes traveling through the biome areas much easier and prepares you to face the BB League Elite Four with comfort and agility.

BB QUESTS
To face the challenges of the BB League, you’ll need to accumulate Blueberry Points (BP), and the most effective way to do that is by completing BB Quests. Access the menu by pressing the right arrow on the Rotom Phone to check the available tasks. Each completed mission unlocks a new one, and every ten BBQs unlocks a Bonus Quest , offering more BP. If you play in a group via Union Circle, you unlock Group Quests , which yield greater rewards.

Defeating Trainers in Biomes:
In addition to BB Quests, you can earn BP by defeating trainers throughout the Terarium. In each Rest Area (marked rest areas on the map), talk to the attendant after defeating them.

  • 5 trainers: 100 BP
  • 10 coaches: 200 BP
  • Everyone (14 to 16): 500 BP + exclusive TMs

In the Blueberry Academy
League, use your computer to contribute BP to other clubs’ projects and unlock benefits:

  • Baseball Club (Mitch): New Poké Ball throwing animations.
  • Photography Club (Iso): Advanced functions for the Rotom Phone camera.
  • Science Club (Reese): Access to the Item Printer, a machine that transforms Pokémon materials into items.
  • Terarium Club (Terry): Unlocks starter Pokémon from other regions in specific biomes (cost: 3,000 BP per biome).

ITEM PRINTER
After supporting the Science Club, Reese will install the Item Printer. Here’s how it works:

  1. Basic Stage (5 BP per item): Convert materials like Fang or Feather into common items.
  2. First Upgrade (200 BP): Reduces cost to 4 BP per item + 2% chance of getting double items.
  3. Second Upgrade (500 BP): Cost drops to 3 BP + 1% chance of obtaining rare Poké Balls (including Master Ball).
  4. Final Upgrade (1,000 BP + Terapagos captured): Produces Stellar Tera Shards and multiple items simultaneously.

Starters from Kanto to Galar:
Invest 3,000 BP in the Terarium Club for each biome and find:

  • Coastal Biome: Bulbasaur, Froakie, Grookey.
  • Savanna Biome: Charmander, Rowlet, Sobble.
  • Canyon Biome: Squirtle, Chespin, Litten.
  • Polar Biome: Cyndaquil, Scorbunny, Piplup.

BB LEAGUE ELITE 4 – CRISPIN’S TRIAL
Location: Savanna Plaza (cost: 50 BP).
Objective: Create a spicy sandwich by trading ingredients with NPCs.

Step by step:

  1. Defeat a trainer to obtain Potato Salad.
  2. Trade Potato Salad with an NPC for Onion, Cucumber, and Prosciutto.
  3. Replace Cucumber with Chili Sauce.
  4. Defeat another trainer to earn Mayonnaise.
  5. Answer “Mayonnaise” to an NPC’s question to receive Eggs, Oil, and Vinegar.
  6. Replace Eggs with Chorizo.
  7. Replace Vinegar with Mustard.
  8. Swap Prosciutto + Olive Oil for Jalapeño.

Battle against Crispin (Fire type):

  • Heat Rotom Lv.77: Focus on electric and burning attacks.
  • Talonflame Lv.77: Prioritize Rock or Water type attacks.
  • Exeggutor Lv.78: Use insects or ghosts.
  • Camerupt Lv.78: Exploits weakness to water.
  • Magmortar Lv.78: Water or stone are effective.
  • Blaziken Lv.79 (Tera Fire): Flying or psychic attacks.

After the victory, Drayton congratulates you, and the path to the next Elite Four member will be open.

CANYON PLAZA

As soon as you arrive at Canyon Plaza, find the attendant and confirm your participation in the Amarys evaluation by paying 50 BP. The test here isn’t a battle right away, but rather an aerial control test: you’ll ride Koraidon or Miraidon and fly a circuit inside the Terarium, passing through a sequence of electric rings formed by Magnemite. The timer starts tight, with 30 seconds, but the secret is that the time is renewed as you successfully pass through the rings. Every time you pass through a ring correctly, a few seconds are added to the timer, so the real objective is to maintain the rhythm and not lose your way. Amarys applies a type of supplement to your legendary Pokémon that temporarily improves its flight capabilities, and piloting becomes completely free: you control altitude and direction with smooth movements, ascending, descending, and turning to align your body with the center of each ring. The tip here is simple and makes all the difference: instead of trying to cut corners with aggressive turns, make small, constant adjustments to navigate the loops in the middle, because every mistake costs time and repositioning.

Completing the course within the time limit, Amarys unlocks the part that matters: the battle. Her specialty is the Steel type, and she comes with a team built to withstand pressure, disrupt positioning, and punish carelessness in double battles. Amarys uses a level 78 Skarmory with Sturdy holding Rocky Helmet, with Stealth Rock, Whirlwind, Body Press, and Dual Wingbeat; a level 78 Alolan Dugtrio with Tangling Hair holding Focus Sash, with Earthquake, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Stone Edge; a level 79 Scizor with Technician holding Occa Berry, with Bullet Punch, Trailblaze, Pounce, and Aerial Ace; a level 79 Reuniclus with Magic Guard holding Leftovers, with Trick Room, Protect, Energy Ball, and Psychic; and a level 79 Empoleon with Torrent holding Mystic Water, with Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, Flash Cannon, and Grass Knot. And a level 80 Metagross upgraded to Steel with Clear Body holding Expert Belt, equipped with Hard Press, Ice Punch, Zen Headbutt, and Brick Break. To deal with it effectively, start by thinking about two things: Steel-type coverage and a counter to Trick Room. Fire and Ground moves remain excellent against most teams, but watch out for Empoleon and Metagross itself, which can withstand a lot of damage and can turn the tide of battle if you leave the wrong pair on the field. After the victory, Drayton appears to acknowledge your progress, and Kieran also shows up just to “check” if you haven’t softened, reinforcing that he expects to see you defeat everyone until the final rematch.

MORE BP

After you pass the assessment for the first time, the Canyon Plaza flight circuit becomes a direct source of BP. Simply speak to the Canyon Plaza attendant again and choose to repeat the challenge. The logic remains the same, but now there are routes with increasing difficulty and different rewards. During repetitions, you will encounter larger and smaller rings with distinct colors. The orange rings, easier to align, add 3 seconds to the time when correctly traversed. The blue rings, smaller and more demanding, reward better and add more time to the timer, adding 5 seconds per correct pass. At the beginning, you redo the simplest route, the Easy Course, which is the route used before the battle with Amarys. Upon completing this, you unlock the Normal Course, with a longer section and more chances to make mistakes due to excessive turning. After the Normal Course, the Hard Course appears, which requires path reading and fine-tuned directional control. The rewards for completing the first course are much more generous: 50 BP on Easy for the first time, 100 BP on Normal for the first time, and 200 BP on Hard for the first time. From there, it becomes a constant grind, with 10 BP on Easy, 20 BP on Normal, and 30 BP on Hard per repetition. If you’re planning on spending BP on Elite Four trials or League Club upgrades, mastering this circuit is definitely worth it.

COASTAL PLAZA

With Amarys resolved, go to Coastal Plaza and talk to the attendant to start Lacey’s test, also costing 50 BP. Here the school completely changes the type of challenge: instead of a skill minigame, you take an interactive quiz with five questions, each involving touching the correct part of a Pokémon displayed on the screen. Ideally, you should get everything right on the first try to unlock the battle directly and save time. If you get a question wrong, you still have a second chance on the same question. However, if you get it wrong twice, the test forces you to face a trainer before continuing. You can pass without battling, but you can also intentionally get it wrong if you want more battles for training, but the fastest way is to get everything right.

The questions follow a very specific logic. First, Pikachu appears, and the correct answer is to indicate where it stores electricity by touching its cheeks. Then comes Venonat, and you need to point out the part it uses as a radar by touching its eyes. In the third question, three Sinistea appear, and you must recognize which one is the Antique Form by choosing the middle Sinistea. In the fourth, you need to locate the pink Minior after the shuffle, and the correct choice is the last Minior on the right. In the fifth and final question, Lacey asks which part of Granbull she uses as a pillow, and the answer is to touch Granbull’s belly. With the quiz finished, Lacey accepts the battle, and her specialty is the Fairy type.

Lacey uses Whimsicott level 78 with Prankster holding Focus Sash, with Light Screen, Tailwind, Energy Ball, and Moonblast; Granbull level 78 with Intimidate holding Expert Belt, with Play Rough, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, and Stomping Tantrum; Primarina level 79 with Liquid Voice holding Throat Spray, with Hyper Voice, Moonblast, Ice Beam, and Shadow Ball; Galarian Slowbro level 79 with Quick Draw holding Sitrus Berry, with Shell Side Arm, Psychic, Flamethrower, and Ice Beam; Alcremie level 79 with Sweet Veil holding Leftovers, with Decorate, Recover, Giga Drain, and Alluring Voice; and Excadrill level 80 terastalized to fairy with Mold Breaker holding Assault Vest, with Tera Blast, Iron Head, Rock Tomb, and High Horsepower. The main tip here is not to be fooled by the “fairy type” written in her profile: she has a lot of unexpected offensive coverage, so come prepared with solid answers for special damage and also with a consistent way to pressure Whimsicott, who tends to accelerate the game with Tailwind and disrupt with screens. After you win, Drayton reappears, pleased with the pace of your progress, and makes it clear that he will be the next obstacle before the champion.

POLAR PLAZA

Now head to Polar Plaza. When you speak to the attendant, Drayton will appear in person and allow you to participate without charging any BP. However, he makes up for this with a very specific requirement: you must defeat three trainers using exclusively Pokémon that you caught in the Terarium itself. It’s not enough to have the Pokémon in your Pokédex; you must have caught it inside the dome. Another important detail is that captures from Tera Raid Battles don’t count towards this check, even if the raid took place in the Terarium. Before starting, assemble a strong team and think about type coverage. These trainers’ teams tend to be good against Ground and Fighting-type moves, so if you’ve already caught Pokémon that learn these moves naturally or via TM, things become much easier. By defeating the three trainers with a 100% Terarium team, the challenge is complete.

The good news is that Drayton doesn’t force you to fight him with this limited team. Once the three battles are over, you can return to your main team and enter the duel for a spot. His specialty is the Dragon type, with a team that mixes offensive pressure, tempo control, and dangerous coverage. Drayton uses a level 78 Dragonite with Multiscale holding Yache Berry, with Extreme Speed, Thunder Punch, Ice Spinner, and Tailwind; a level 78 Flygon with Levitate holding Life Orb, with Earthquake, Stone Edge, Fire Punch, and Breaking Swipe; a level 79 Haxorus with Mold Breaker holding Focus Sash, with Earthquake, Breaking Swipe, Iron Head, and Dragon Dance; a level 79 Sceptile with Unburden holding Weakness Policy, with Dragon Cheer, Leaf Storm, X Scissor, and Acrobatics; and a level 79 Kingdra with Swift Swim holding Expert Belt, with Rain Dance, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump, and Hurricane. Archaludon, level 80, is a dragon-type Pokémon with Stamina, wielding Assault Vest, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Snarl. To win safely, bring clear counters to dragons, such as Ice and Fairy, but don’t forget that it also has tools to punish you if you expose yourself too much, especially with priority and weather changes. By defeating it, you complete the Elite Four of the BB League and are officially eligible to challenge the champion. Kieran appears instantly, impatient and ready for the decisive battle, and the final showdown will be on the battle court at the entrance of Blueberry Academy, so head to the school entrance.

KIERAN

At the entrance, speak to the receptionist to begin preparations. Drayton approaches and bluntly comments that Kieran has changed too much and that someone needs to take him down so he can see what’s happening. Once you confirm you’re ready, the entire school is notified with an announcement, and the atmosphere becomes like a real final. Kieran arrives accompanied by Carmine, the Elite Four members, and several students who stop to watch. If you put Ogerpon on your team, Kieran reacts with his own comments during the fight, further increasing the tension.

Kieran uses a level 80 Politoed with Drizzle holding a Wacan Berry, with Ice Beam, Weather Ball, Psychic, and Helping Hand; a level 80 Dragonite with Multiscale holding an Expert Belt, with Hurricane, Thunder, Extreme Speed, and Breaking Swipe; a level 81 Grimmsnarl with Prankster holding a Focus Sash, with Sucker Punch, Spirit Break, Light Screen, and Reflect; a level 81 Porygon-Z with Adaptability holding a Life Orb, with Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Shadow Ball; a level 81 Incineroar with Intimidate holding a Sitrus Berry, with Darkest Lariat, Brick Break, Flare Blitz, and Fake Out; and a level 82 Hydrapple upgraded to Fighting with Supersweet Syrup holding an Assault Vest, with Fickle Beam, Gyro Ball, Tera Blast, and Earth Power. Here you need to win two wars at the same time: the rhythm war, because it has screens, Fake Out, and Helping Hand, and the raw damage war, because Porygon-Z and Hydrapple can explode your side of the field if you give them space. Plan your targets, protect yourself when necessary, and use your terastalization when you really want to turn the tide of combat, not just to “deal more damage.”

When you win, Kieran falls to his knees, devastated by losing to you again. Drayton taunts him, calling him a former champion, but then immediately presents you with a Master Ball as a prize for becoming the new BB League champion. He also tries to make Kieran understand that battles shouldn’t become an obsession and that having fun is part of what keeps a trainer whole. Kieran gets up, still with his pride wounded, but with his head down, unable to hide how much this has consumed him.

Soon after, Lacey, Crispin, and Amarys approach, and the conversation becomes awkward for a practical reason: if you’re the champion, then you’d be the head of the League Club, but you’re a visitor, not a permanent student at the school. At the same time, if Kieran falls to the Elite Four, it would affect the positions of other members. Before anyone can decide anything, an announcement echoes through the academy’s system summoning you, Drayton, Kieran, and Carmine to Classroom 1-4. Enter the school and go to that room to find out what Briar wants to discuss with you and what the next step in this story will be.

BRIAR

As soon as you enter Classroom 1-4, you can sense that this is no ordinary meeting. Briar begins by mentioning that the school has received important visitors and, before anything else, acknowledges what you have just accomplished by becoming the BB League champion. Then she finally reveals the real reason she summoned you, Carmine, Kieran, and Drayton: she wants to mount a new expedition to Area Zero, not only to collect crystals and study the energy of the Terastal phenomenon in more depth, but also to pursue her great personal goal: to find Terapagos, the legendary creature that, according to ancient records, sleeps hidden in the deepest layers of the crater.

In the middle of this conversation, the door opens and Geeta and Rika enter, completely changing the atmosphere of the room. Geeta explains that the Pokémon League has funded research in Area Zero in the past and, precisely because they saw the magnitude of the risk, they began to control and restrict access to the location. The region is unstable, full of dangerous Pokémon and phenomena that are difficult to predict. And, to make matters worse, there have been recent incidents involving creatures that managed to escape from there, which reinforces the need for investigation. Since there was no one available and trustworthy enough for a mission of this magnitude, Briar’s request came at the right time, especially since the Blueberry Academy brings together very strong trainers, and you are among them.

Briar asks who will go. Carmine agrees immediately. Drayton bluntly rejects the idea, saying he won’t go. Kieran, on the other hand, accepts with unsettling determination, making it clear he’s going with a personal objective: to get his hands on the legendary Pokémon. With that, the team is complete: you, Carmine, Kieran, and Briar. Geeta thanks Briar for their cooperation and agrees that everything will be done cautiously. The instructions are simple: meet Briar at the school entrance when you’re ready to leave.

Before leaving, take advantage of Geeta and Rika being in the room and talk to them both. Rika gives you the classic scolding for having gone down to Area Zero in the past without authorization, but doesn’t dwell on the subject for long. Geeta, more serious, admits that she didn’t tell Briar everything that happened down there, especially the more sensitive details related to what you saw at the end of the main story. Then, she gives you an item called the Indigo Disk. According to Geeta, this disk came from research related to Area Zero and contains important data. She asks you to find out what it’s for, and to exercise maximum caution on the expedition.

ZERO AREA

When you meet Briar, Carmine, and Kieran at the entrance of the Blueberry Academy, Briar confirms everyone is ready and gives the order to go. Kieran is ecstatic, speaking as if capturing the legendary Pokémon is just a matter of time. As soon as you arrive at Area Zero, the three are shocked by the landscape. For them, everything there is new. And when your Koraidon or Miraidon appears, emerging from its Poké Ball as if recognizing the place, the impact is even greater, because now Briar and the others understand that you’ve actually been there before.

Briar explains that the goal isn’t just to “get into the crater,” but to reach the deepest point possible, starting with Zero Lab. She asks you to lead the way, since you know the area. To go fast, the most direct route is simply to mount your legendary and descend into the crater without stalling, controlling your fall until you reach the lower layers. Once you reach the Zero Lab area, the others will catch up soon after.

Briar observes that this laboratory represents the ultimate limit of previous expeditions, but mentions that there is something beyond, a mysterious lower level that almost no one has managed to access. Approaching the Zero Lab panel, you try to open the doors and realize that the lock is still there, as if the laboratory remained locked by an old security system. The difference now is that the Indigo Disk that Geeta gave you makes the system react. The panel detects the disk, and you can insert it to unlock the access that was unavailable on your previous visit. The doors open, you enter, find the elevator and descend. But this time it doesn’t stop where you already knew. It continues, taking you to an even deeper level.

The place you arrive at has a strange air, as if the rock itself were charged with energy. Right away you find a record signed by Sada or Turo talking about Terapagos, described as the great hidden treasure. The text also mentions an unusual type of terastalization, with characteristics that resemble all types at the same time. The name given to this phenomenon is Stellar.

Walking a little further, you stumble upon a huge crystal blocking the passage. Carmine suggests breaking it with your arm using Koraidon or Miraidon, but Briar quickly intervenes, explaining that those formations appear to be concentrated Terastal energy in a near-pure state, and that forcibly destroying it could cause a disaster. Before you can decide anything, a Glimmora appears, already Terastalized in Stellar, and charges at you.

You face a level 78 Glimmora with Tera Stellar. Upon winning, something important happens: the crystal blocking the path simply ceases to exist, as if the presence of that Pokémon was holding up the barrier. Briar concludes that these Tera Stellar-ized Pokémon are acting as “living locks” on the path, reinforcing the theory that the treasure of Area Zero may be sealed or dormant in crystalline form. Kieran doesn’t want to hear any discussion and insists on continuing.

Further on, your companions are waiting before another crystalline barrier, and to clear a path you need to locate a nearby Noivern and defeat it.

You face a level 78 Noivern with Tera Stellar. As soon as it falls, the barrier dissipates and the group can advance again. Then, a third obstruction appears, and now the Pokémon holding up the blockade changes depending on the game version. In Scarlet, you must find and defeat a level 79 Sandy Shock with Tera Stellar. In Violet, the target is a level 79 Iron Thorns with Tera Stellar. After the victory, Briar calls you back because the path has been cleared, so return to the point where they were to continue together.

Exploring further, you reach a striking area with a completely crystallized tree, a scene that practically screams “end of route.” There, the next guardian of the path appears: an extremely resilient Garganacl.

You face a level 80 Garganacl with Tera Stellar. When it falls, Kieran says you can continue, but then he explodes with impatience. He complains, albeit indirectly, that all progress depends on you and runs ahead. Carmine, staying behind with Briar, comments that she and Kieran are holding off wild Pokémon while you clear the way, and that her team is quite depleted, with practically only Sinistcha left. As you advance to the next section, Carmine and Kieran’s Tera Orbs begin to react, as if something very powerful is nearby. Kieran interprets this as a sign of the legendary Pokémon and sprints ahead again. Briar also gets excited and runs after them. From here on, the priority is to catch up with the three of them as quickly as possible.

THERAPISTS

You find Kieran in a state of euphoria, searching among pillars and crystals as if he were hunting a prize. Briar points to a specific crystal in the middle of the formations and states that it matches the descriptions in the reports. Kieran, seized by the idea that capturing Terapagos will finally put him above you, tries to forcefully remove the crystal. The object reacts, glows, and, before everyone’s eyes, transforms into Terapagos.

The legendary Pokémon looks around and begins walking toward you, as if recognizing you as the most stable point there. This causes Kieran to panic. He doesn’t think, doesn’t speak, he simply throws a Master Ball and captures Terapagos immediately, stealing the moment. Briar tries to remain calm and asks Kieran to demonstrate the legendary Pokémon’s power so she can observe the phenomenon. Kieran agrees, but in his own way: turning it into a direct challenge against you, in a combat that in practice functions like a “titan” level battle.

You face a level 85 Terapagos under Kieran’s command. The idea here is simply to win, because the fight is the trigger for disaster. After the defeat, Briar realizes that Terapagos’s Terastal energy is low, as if the legendary Pokémon isn’t even showing close to its true potential. She concludes that the only way to force its “true power” would be to terastalize Terapagos itself. Kieran, blinded by ambition, does exactly that. Terapagos changes form and begins to unleash an absurd amount of energy, so intense that Kieran is almost hit, being protected at the last instant by his Koraidon or Miraidon.

The situation spirals out of control. The ground trembles and begins to give way. Carmine orders Kieran to retrieve Terapagos back into the Master Ball, but the energy is so unstable that the Master Ball itself ruptures, literally disintegrating. Terapagos loses control and becomes a threat to everyone. Now there is no choice. You must stop the legendary Pokémon.

Carmine joins you in a Raid Battle against a level 85 Terapagos with Tera Stellar. The fight has clear phase changes. It starts as a Normal type, and initially, Carmine’s Sinistcha helps keep the team alive with healing and support. At a certain point, Briar suggests you Terastalize, and this battle allows you to return to Terastalize in short cycles, with a new opportunity every three turns. When you remove the first quarter of Terapagos’ HP, it switches to Psychic type, and Carmine’s Sinistcha eventually falls. Upon removing the second quarter of HP, Terapagos switches to Water type, and Kieran enters the fight to help, trying to repair the damage he himself caused. Keep pressing until you take down the legendary for good.

After the victory, the capture is released, and Kieran, finally more humble, allows you to do it. Just like in a Tera Raid, the capture here doesn’t fail. With Terapagos safe, Briar apologizes for putting everyone at risk, admitting that her obsession with fulfilling her dream ended up pulling you into a dangerous situation. Kieran also apologizes for what he did. The group decides to return to Blueberry Academy and end the expedition. On the way back, Briar and Carmine go ahead, and Kieran stays with you for a moment, apologizes again, and says he wants to start over the right way, asking to be your true friend. After that, the credits roll, marking the main conclusion of the expansion’s story.

After the credits, you wake up in your dorm room at Blueberry Academy and hear an announcement calling you to Classroom 1-4. Briar wants to talk about what was discovered. Upon arriving, she says she organized everything she learned and turned it into a book, so you receive Briar’s Book. Next, she asks to see your Tera Orb and notices it’s different after direct exposure to Terapagos energy. She comments that the same thing happened to Carmine and Kieran’s orbs, and because of this, you can now terastalize without that post-battle recharge routine, which significantly changes the pace of exploration and training.

Briar also explains that the Terarium Core was already a special mixture, containing material from Paldea combined with water from Kitakami’s Crystal Pool, and that she added crystals collected from the depths of Area Zero. The result is that some Pokémon began appearing in the Terarium with a rainbow glow, a sign that they carry the Tera Type Stellar. She provides an important explanation to avoid confusion: when a Pokémon Terastalizes to Stellar in regular battles, it receives a boost to its moves, but this boost only works once per move type. That is, you use a move of a certain type and gain the boost, but moves of the same type don’t continue to receive this bonus repeatedly. In Tera Raid Battles, the logic is different, and moves remain boosted without this limit.

Before concluding, Briar also alerts you that there’s a man in a blue suit waiting for you at the school entrance, indicating that new events have been unlocked. If you want, you can now return to the Terarium and look for the rainbow-glowing Pokémon to test Stellar in practice, and take advantage of the fact that your Tera Orb is now much more convenient.

KORAIDON/MIRAIDON

With that part of the story concluded, find Amarys in Classroom 3-2. She comments that, after everything, Kieran decided to step away from the ranking system and that this is a sign that he has become a healthier person again. As a way of thanking you for what you did and for what you represented to the school, Amarys prepared a large quantity of the same flight supplement used in the Canyon Plaza test. As soon as she presents the bottle, your Koraidon or Miraidon appears and swallows it all at once, as if it had been expecting it.

From this point on, your legendary Pokémon can fly freely whenever you want. You can switch between free flight and gliding mode using the left analog stick, which completely changes your mobility within the Terarium. If you’re curious, you can even climb to the top of the dome and get close to the Terarium Core, where there are hidden items to collect. Additionally, Amarys’ flight circuit gains an extra difficulty level, unlocking the Super-Hard Course. Completing this course for the first time grants 500 BP, and repeats award 50 BP.

PALDEA SPECIAL COACHES

After completing the main Indigo Disk storyline and establishing yourself as the BB League champion, one of the best post-game features is the ability to transform Blueberry Academy into a meeting point with important people from Paldea. To start this system, go to the school entrance and, from there, enter the building and choose the League Club as your destination. Cyrano will be waiting inside the club room. He congratulates you on your title and explains his idea: to bring experienced trainers from Paldea to act as Special Coaches—people you already know well, such as gym leaders and even teachers—to exchange experiences, chat, and, most importantly, battle. Agree to help, and he will grant you access to the League Club computer to send invitations. To avoid starting from scratch, Cyrano will also give you 200 BP to cover the first few invitations and then leave, leaving the mechanics under your control. An important detail is that the club only accommodates two visitors at a time, so the system always works on a rotation basis.

GYM LEADERS

From now on, when you’re in the League Club, interact with the computer and select the option to call a Special Coach. Initially, the available group consists of the eight gym leaders from Paldea. As soon as you choose a name, the leader appears, entering the club room and circulating there for a while. Since the limit is two simultaneous visitors, when you call a third, the first guest leaves automatically. If you don’t call anyone else, the two who are present remain for a few hours and then leave on their own, so it’s worth taking advantage while they’re there. When two leaders are in the club at the same time, you sometimes catch them talking to each other, which yields extra dialogues. The interaction logic is always similar: in the first individual conversation, the leader just chats. The second time you start a conversation with them, the battle option appears. Winning gives you a special reward, so it’s a great way to get items and revisit characters.

The leaders use strong teams, around level 80, with Terastalization on the last Pokémon, so be prepared for long battles and type coverage. Katy comes with level 80 Spidops, level 80 Heracross, level 80 Forretress, level 80 Lokix, level 81 Araquanid, and level 81 Ursaring with Tera Bug. Brassius brings level 80 Breloom, level 80 Arboliva, level 80 Vileplume, level 80 Tsareena, level 80 Lilligant, and level 81 Sudowoodo with Tera Grass. Iono uses level 80 Kilowattrel, level 80 Electrode, level 80 Bellibolt, level 80 Luxray, level 80 Electivire, and level 81 Mismagius with Tera Electric. Kofu appears with Pelipper level 80, Veluza level 80, Feraligatr level 80, Wugtrio level 80, Clawitzer level 80 and Crabominable level 81 with Tera Water. Larry is heavier and comes with Oinkologne level 82, Tauros level 82, Dudunsparce level 82, Altaria level 82, Flamigo level 82 with Tera Flying and Staraptor level 83 with Tera Normal. Ryme maintains her style and the battle takes place in a double battle, with Banette level 80, Mimikyu level 80, Golurk level 80, Spiritomb level 80, Houndstone level 80 and Toxtricity level 81 with Tera Ghost. Tulip uses Farigiraf level 80, Gardevoir level 80, Espathra level 80, Gallade level 80, Delphox level 80 and Florges level 81 with Tera Psychic. Grusha completes the group with Alolan Ninetales level 80, Frosmoth level 80, Beartic level 80, Cetitan level 80, Weavile level 80 and Altaria level 81 with Tera Ice.

Besides talking and battling, there’s a really cool bonus for sticking with the same leader over time: you can unlock an exclusive trade with them. To do this, you need to invite the same leader three times, and you must have spoken to them individually on the first two visits. Battling isn’t necessary on those first two visits, but talking is. On the third visit, when you talk to the leader, they offer the option to trade. You can give them any Pokémon you’ve caught, as long as it’s not shiny, legendary, or mythical. In exchange, each leader offers a specific Pokémon, and the one you receive comes with a Partner Ribbon, clearly indicating it’s a special gift from that leader. Katy offers a level 15 Combee, Brassius gives a level 40 Sunflora, Iono gives a level 22 Magnemite, Kofu trades for a level 20 Veluza, Larry offers a level 35 Dudunsparce, Ryme gives you a level 10 Greavard, Tulip gives you a level 32 Flittle, and Grusha offers a level 37 Cetoddle.

ELITE 4 BB LEAGUE

Even though they don’t exactly enter as guests via computer, members of the BB League’s Elite Four frequently appear in the League Club as part of their routine. You’ll usually encounter three of them per day, and this trio changes daily, so visiting the club regularly is very worthwhile. The interaction rule is the same: in the first individual contact of the day, they chat; in the next contact, you unlock a battle; and winning earns you a special reward. The battles are in pairs, following the school’s pattern, and the teams are even stronger than in the campaign, already in the 82-85 level range.

Crispin comes with a level 82 Heat Rotom, level 82 Talonflame, level 83 Exeggutor, level 83 Camerupt, level 83 Magmortar, and level 84 Blaziken with Tera Fire. Amarys uses a level 83 Skarmory, level 83 Alolan Dugtrio, level 84 Scizor, level 84 Reuniclus, level 84 Empoleon, and level 85 Metagross with Tera Steel. Lacey appears with a level 83 Whimsicott, level 83 Granbull, level 84 Primarina, level 84 Galarian Slowbro, level 84 Alcremie, and level 85 Excadrill with Tera Fairy. Drayton finishes with a level 83 Dragonite, level 83 Flygon, level 84 Haxorus, level 84 Sceptile, level 84 Kingdra, and level 85 Archaludon with Tera Dragon.

Since these members aren’t always available, the right way to unlock the trade is simple: whenever you come to the League Club and find one of them, talk to them individually, even if it’s just once, to count as “one day of conversation”. After talking to the same member on three different days, in the next interaction they will offer a trade, following the same rules used with the Paldea leaders. The possible trades are Magby level 12 with Crispin, Skarmory level 40 with Amarys, Snubbull level 18 with Lacey, and Duraludon level 36 with Drayton.

CLAVELL AND JACQ

After you complete three trades with the Special Coaches in total, the League Club computer will start releasing invites from people at Naranja or Uva Academy. Among the first to appear on the list are Clavell and Jacq, who become available as soon as you meet this requirement. As always, the limit of two visitors still applies, so if you want to keep one of them around, avoid inviting a third guest that forces an automatic exit. When you find them in the club, you can sometimes even see conversations between them and other visitors. In the first individual conversation, they just exchange ideas. In the second, the battle option appears, and winning earns you a special reward.

Clavell’s team depends on the starter you chose at the beginning of the game. If your starter was Sprigatito, it uses level 80 Oranguru, level 80 Abomasnow, level 80 Polteageist, level 80 Amoonguss, level 80 Gyarados, and level 81 Skeledirge with Tera Fire. If you started with Fuecoco, it uses level 80 Oranguru, level 80 Abomasnow, level 80 Polteageist, level 80 Houndoom, level 80 Amoonguss, and level 81 Quaquaval with Tera Water. If you chose Quaxly, it uses level 80 Oranguru, level 80 Abomasnow, level 80 Polteageist, level 80 Gyarados, level 80 Houndoom, and level 81 Meowscarada with Tera Grass. Jacq comes with level 80 Victreebel, level 80 Arcanine, level 80 Swalot, level 80 Mudsdale, level 80 Galarian Slowbro, and level 81 Farigiraf with Tera Psychic.

After Clavell and Jacq start appearing as guests in the League Club, you can go beyond conversations and battles and get exclusive trades with them. The rule here is the same logic used with other guests, but many people get confused and waste time: whenever you call one of them, make sure to speak individually at least once before trading for another guest or before the guest’s time runs out. You don’t need to fight; what really counts to unlock the trade is registering the conversation on previous visits. When you have called the same character for the third time and talk to them again, the trade option finally appears. The requirement for the Pokémon you offer remains standard: it needs to be captured by you, it cannot be shiny, and it cannot be legendary or mythical. By doing this, Clavell offers a level 24 Pawmo, and Jacq offers a level 17 Gulpin, and as with Special Coach trades, the received Pokémon is marked as a partner, making it clear that it is a special gift from that trainer.

PALDEA TEACHERS

Besides the principal and Jacq, you can also bring teachers from Paldea into the League Club, but there’s an extra step involved. Simply having the guest system enabled isn’t enough. For each teacher to become available, you need to have completed the affinity interactions in the Paldea academy – those conversations that strengthen your friendship with the teacher. Once this bond is complete, the teacher’s name will appear in your computer’s invite list. Remember that the club only accommodates two visitors at a time, so plan your invitations carefully to avoid expelling someone you wanted to keep there to chat or battle.

When a professor is present, the interaction pattern follows the same scheme: in the first individual conversation, they only exchange ideas and comment on their routine and how strange it is to be in Unova. The second time you talk to them during that visit, you can trigger a battle. Winning earns you a special reward, so it’s worth facing them all at least once. The teams are strong and revolve around level 80, with terastalization on the last member, so treat these fights as post-game challenges.

Raifort appears with a level 80 Zoroark, level 80 Seviper, level 80 Grumpig, level 80 Malamar, level 80 Scizor, and level 81 Gengar with Ghost-type Tetralogy. Tyme enters with a very solid Rock-type team: level 80 Kleavor, level 80 Lycanroc in Dusk form, level 80 Drednaw, level 80 Stonjourner, level 80 Coalossal, and level 81 Garganac with Rock-type Tetralogy. Salvatore brings level 80 Gothitelle, level 80 Honchkrow, level 80 Persian, level 80 Palossand, level 80 Alolan Sandslash, and level 81 Raichu with Electric-type Tetralogy. Dendra comes focused on fighting with level 80 Hitmontop, level 80 Paldean Tauros Blaze, level 80 Paldean Tauros Aqua, level 80 Medicham, level 80 Hawlucha, and level 81 Hariyama with fighting-type terastalization. Hassel arrives with a package of dragons and heavy threats: level 82 Duraludon, level 82 Noivern, level 82 Haxorus, level 82 Dragalge, level 82 Dragonite, and level 83 Baxcalibur with dragon-type terastalization. Saguaro uses level 80 Pachirisu, level 80 Alomomola, level 80 Alcremie, level 80 Vespiquen, level 80 Goodra, and level 81 Hatterene with fairy-type terastalization. Miriam completes the list with Hypno level 80, Pincurchin level 80, Meganium level 80, Glalie level 80, Eelektross level 80, and Toxapex level 81 with poison terastalization.

If your intention is to collect all the exclusive trades, the path with the professors is identical to that of Clavell and Jacq: invite the same professor three times, and on each of the first two visits, talk to them individually at least once to register the encounter. On the third visit, when you talk to them, the trade option appears, always respecting the same restrictions of the Pokémon you offer. Each professor gives a different Pokémon, all coming with a partner mark. Raifort offers a level 30 Gimmighoul, Tyme gives a level 12 Rockruff, Salvatore trades for a level 21 Alolan Meowth, Dendra offers a level 28 Meditite, Hassel gives a level 45 Arctibax, Saguaro offers a level 33 Hattrem, and Miriam gives a level 20 Mareanie.

ELITE 4 OF PALDEA

As you progress through the trading system, more important people from Paldea will be added to the guest list. After you complete five trades in total with Special Coaches, the members of the Paldea Elite Four who were not yet available will become available to invite. Larry is already on the list of gym leaders, and Hassel is already on the list of teachers, so the real focus here is to unlock Rika and Poppy. Invite one at a time via the computer, remembering again the limit of two simultaneous visitors.

When they are in the League Club, you might find them talking to other guests, resulting in extra interactions. Speaking to them individually, the first conversation is just dialogue. In the second, you unlock a battle, and winning earns you a special reward. Rika uses level 82 Dugtrio, level 82 Whiscash, level 82 Camerupt, level 82 Torterra, level 82 Donphan, and level 83 Clodsire with earth-type terastalization. Poppy comes with level 82 Copperajah, level 82 Bastiodon, level 82 Bronzong, level 82 Magnezone, level 82 Corviknight, and level 83 Tinkaton with steel-type terastalization.

To trade with Rika and Poppy, repeat the same pattern: call the same person three times, ensuring you spoke to them individually on the first two visits. On the third visit, when you speak to them, the trade becomes available, with the same rules as the Pokémon you offer. Rika offers a level 8 Paldean Wooper and Poppy offers a level 25 Tinkatuff.

PALDEA CHAMPION

The final step in this system is bringing the Paldea champion into the League Club. Geeta only enters the list after you complete eight trades in total with Special Coaches. Once she’s available, call her on the computer and enjoy her while she’s in the room, remembering the limit of two visitors. As with all the others, the first conversation is just dialogue and the second unlocks the battle, with a special reward if you win.

Geeta uses a more serious team, already at level 84-85. She enters with a level 84 Glimmora with rock-type Terastalize, level 84 Espathra, level 84 Chesnaught, level 84 Avalugg, level 84 Dragapult, and level 85 Kingambit with flying Terastalize. It’s a fight that requires careful attention to speed and cover, because it combines quick offensive pressure with a final piece that’s difficult to remove if you let it build an advantage.

There’s also an exclusive trade with Geeta. Invite her three times, talk to her individually on the first two visits, and when she returns for the third time, talk to her again to make the trade available. Subject to the normal restrictions of the Pokémon you offer, Geeta will give you a Level 5 Glimmet, completing the collection of special gifts linked to Paldea’s most important guests within the Blueberry Academy.

CYRANO

After you really delve into the Special Coaches system and complete ten trades in total, the League Club computer unlocks a new request on the support board. It appears signed by “Saffron” and only costs 10 BP, but what it unlocks is big: the only chance to face the “secret boss” of Blueberry Academy, Headmaster Cyrano himself. He doesn’t enter the normal guest rotation and isn’t a standard Special Coach either, so this fight is a special event that only happens because of this request. As soon as you pay, you receive a call asking you to go to the school entrance. Upon arriving, Cyrano appears and reveals the trick: “Saffron” was indeed him, testing who would be able to figure it out and accept the challenge. The battle starts immediately and follows the school’s style, in pairs, so start with a solid initial pair and cover for changes in pace.

Cyrano’s team is very aggressive and designed to disrupt positioning. He opens with a level 86 Zebstrika with Sap Sipper holding Air Balloon, using moves like Bulldoze to change the field’s speed, Supercell Slam, Flame Charge, and Trailblaze to reposition and accelerate. He combines this with a level 86 Mandibuzz with Overcoat holding Sitrus Berry, bringing Toxic, Tailwind, Snarl, and Protect to poison, accelerate the team, and weaken special attacks while protecting himself. In the mid-game, he has a level 86 Gothitelle with Shadow Tag holding Chesto Berry, with Calm Mind and Stored Power as a win condition, plus Thunderbolt and Rest to sustain. To finish the pressure, he brings in a level 87 Emboar with Reckless holding Life Orb, hitting very hard with Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Hammer Arm, and Sucker Punch, and also a level 87 Samurott with Torrent holding Assault Vest, with Aqua Jet, Sacred Sword, X Scissor, and Drill Run for complete coverage. The final highlight is Serperior level 87 with rock-type Tera Blast, Contrary ability, and Leftovers, using Leaf Storm to become stronger while attacking, as well as Tera Blast, Scale Shot, and Glare to spread paralysis and control the fight. By winning, you receive a special reward and, more importantly, unlock an exclusive trade with it.

As soon as the battle ends, the scene returns to the League Club and Cyrano offers to trade with you immediately. The rules are the same as other Special Coach trades: the Pokémon you give must have been caught by you, it cannot be shiny, and it cannot be legendary or mythical. In exchange, Cyrano gives you a level 20 Shiny Blitzle, a rare and symbolic gift as it’s the first guaranteed shiny from a character in this system. From this point on, this battle is no longer a “one-time event”: whenever you want a rematch against Cyrano, just return to the League Club computer, select his request, and pay the 10 BP again.

LEGENDS IN PALDEA

After completing the main Indigo Disk storyline, you also unlock a new character at the entrance of Blueberry Academy—the very same man in the blue suit Briar mentions. His name is Snacksworth, and he rewards students dedicated to BBQs with special treats. These treats act as bait and a “key” to make certain legendary Pokémon appear in Paldea. The mechanics are straightforward: he checks your quest history, and for every 10 solo BBQs completed (the blue ones), he gives you a random treat. Additionally, each completed Group Quest in Union Circle (the gold ones) also yields a treat. Every time he gives you a treat, he drops a hint about where the corresponding legendary Pokémon can be found in Paldea. Some legendaries appear in both versions using solo quests, others depend on your version and the type of quest, and there are also cases where they are locked to group mode if you’re on the “wrong” version, but you can still get them by playing online.

There are four legendary Pokémon that you can obtain in Scarlet and Violet only through Solo Quests: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Kubfu. There’s a second group that, in Scarlet, comes via Solo Quest, but in Violet requires a Group Quest: Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, Latios, Groudon, Reshiram, Solgaleo, and Glastrier. The third group is the reverse; in Scarlet they require a Group Quest, and in Violet they can be obtained via Solo Quest: Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Lugia, Latias, Kyogre, Zekrom, Lunala, and Spectrier. Finally, three legendary Pokémon only appear via Group Quest regardless of the version: Rayquaza, Kyurem, and Necrozma. Once you have the specific Treat, the legendary Pokémon will appear at a fixed point on the Paldea map, so the secret is to gather snacks, listen to the clue, and go straight to the location.

ARTICUNO

In Paldea, Articuno appears on Glaseado Mountain. Look for the lake west of Montevenera and climb up to the area north of that lake. He will be waiting there. The level is 70, so it’s worth going in with Timer Balls, status moves, and plenty of healing to avoid losing control of the fight.

ZAPDOS

Zapdos is located on Poco Path, at the top of the lighthouse. Climb up the Poco Path Lighthouse to the top floor and you’ll find it at the top. It also drops at level 70.

MOLTRES

Moltres appears in the Asado Desert. Go to the northern part of the desert, near the exit, and climb the mountains in that region until you reach the highest point. Moltres is located at that elevation. It appears at level 70.

KUBFU

Kubfu is different from the others on this list because it appears much weaker. Go to North Province Area Two, specifically the Fury Falls area. You’ll see Kubfu standing right in front of the waterfall. It’s at level 30, great for catching with simpler balls if you want to save money.

RAIKOU

Raikou appears in West Province Area One, near the lake region at the top of the mountain. Climb up to that elevated area and look for the area near the lake. He appears at level 70.

I ENTEI

Entei is located in East Province Area Three, in the far right of that region, north of Levincia. Go to the open area in that direction and he will be there. Level 70.

SUICUNE

Suicune appears in Casseroya Lake. There’s an island that’s already a Fly point in the lake, and Suicune is on an island to the left of that. Get there via Fly and cross over to the neighboring island. Level 70.

COBALION

Cobalion is located in North Province Area Two. Using Fury Falls as a reference point, head south on the map until you find a cliff in the area. It appears near that edge. Level 70.

TERRAKION

Terrakion appears in West Province Area One, in the area to the right of the Team Star Dark Crew base, very close to the wall that marks the boundary of the Great Crater of Paldea. Approach from the base and head to that side. Level 70.

VIRIZION

Virizion is located in Tagtree Thicket. Go to the northern part of the river and head to the far right of the forest. He will be in that corner. Level 70.

HO-OH

Ho-Oh appears in South Province Area Four. Look for a circular hill in the southern part of the map, near the waterfall in that area. He is located on that hill. Level 70.

LUGIA

Lugia appears in North Province Area One, on a small, isolated island in the far north of the map. The place is quite remote, so be prepared to fly or cross the sea to reach the correct island. Level 70.

LATIOS

Latios is located in North Province Area Two, at the southernmost lake in that region. It’s the lake furthest “from the end” of the map, so just keep going down to it. Level 70.

LATIAS

Latias appears in South Province Area Four, on a very small strip of sand in the southernmost part of the area, practically a hidden little beach. It comes at level 70.

GROUDON

Groudon is found inside Alfornada Cavern. Enter the cave and explore until you find it there. It appears at level 70.

KYOGRE

Kyogre is located in the North Paldean Sea. A good landmark is the area north of Gracious Stones on the map. You will see it in the sea just above that area. Level 70.

RESHIRAM

Reshiram appears in East Province Area One. Go south of Zapapico and look for an area at the top of a waterfall. He will be there. Level 70.

ZEKROM

Zekrom appears in South Province Area Five. South of Artazon there is a large, clearly visible rocky mountain. Climb this formation and look for Zekrom in this elevated area. Level 70.

Solgaleo

Solgaleo is located in the Pokémon League. Go up to the roof of the league building and it will be there. Level 70.

LUNALA

Lunala appears in the Casseroya Lake region, on the far left side of the strip of land that separates the lake from the river to the south. Go to this strip of land and head to the far left. Level 70.

GLASTRIER

Glastrier appears in Glaseado Mountain, in an area further south-central on the mountain. Explore that part and you’ll find him. Level 70.

Spectator

Spectrier is located in Dalizapa Passage, near ruins close to a wall of the Great Crater of Paldea, on the left side of the passage. Look for the ruins and the wall; he’s nearby. Level 70.

RAYQUAZA

Rayquaza appears at the top of the Great Crater of Paldea, closer to the side above South Province Area Three. Approach the top edge of the crater and look for the highest point in that area. It appears at level 70.

KYUREM

Kyurem appears in Dalizapa Passage, inside the caves. A simple route is to exit the area’s Pokémon Center, head north, and then turn left to enter the correct cavernous section. It’s located within this network of caves. Level 70.

NECROZMA

Necrozma is located on the Socarrat Trail, in the middle of a large stone mountain that dominates the center of the region. Climb and explore this rock formation until you find the point where it appears. Level 70.

MELOETTA; TERARIUM; COASTAL BIOME

Meloetta isn’t tied to Snacksworth’s Treats. She’s obtained through a hidden method within the Terarium. Go to the Coastal Biome and look for a specific spot: it’s slightly to the left of the Outdoor Classroom on the map, before you enter the more open water area. If you’re in the right place, you’ll see a small swirl of leaves spinning near the ground. Stand directly inside this swirl and rotate your character clockwise for at least 10 seconds. Then, open the camera using the down directional pad and change the filter until you reach the sepia tone, navigating through the options with the left directional pad. When the correct filter is active, you’ll notice a change in the soundtrack and begin to hear Meloetta’s characteristic call. Look around carefully, as she will be nearby, visible in the environment. Exit the camera, save the game, and start the battle. Meloetta appears at level 70, so treat it as an important capture, using good stats and balls to ensure a safe landing. There’s even a curious detail here: the sepia filter is linked to an old reference in the franchise itself involving Meloetta, which makes this method even more interesting for those who enjoy lore.

THERAPY AND BRIAR’S BOOK

After completing the main Indigo Disk story and receiving Briar’s Book, there’s a very special hidden scene that only happens if you take the book to the right place. Travel to Kitakami and go to the Crystal Pool, the lake at the top of Oni Mountain. Enter the water and walk to the very center of the lake, to the deepest point where your character can still stand. As soon as you position yourself there, Terapagos will react on its own: it comes out of its Poké Ball, begins to emit a bright glow, and the atmosphere changes, as if a dense fog takes over the place. At that moment, Sada or Turo appears before you, but it’s not the AI you know from the end of the Paldea story. The conversation makes it clear that it’s a version of the professor from another point in time, someone who doesn’t even imagine the existence of artificial intelligence. He or she recognizes your legendary Pokémon and calls it by its old title, Winged King or Iron Serpent, and then asks you what name you would give it, so select the option with the name of your Koraidon or Miraidon.

From then on, the encounter becomes an exchange of information. The professor suggests that you converse like researchers, and during the dialogue, you can choose questions that help to deepen the scene, including why he or she is there, what they are currently studying, and even how their family is doing. Then, when the game gives you space to talk about your reality, discuss the Crystal Pool and your legendary companion. The decisive point comes when you show Briar’s Book. Upon seeing the book, Sada or Turo immediately becomes interested and proposes a trade. Accept. You hand over Briar’s Book and receive a book that is much more important to the history of Paldea: if you are playing Scarlet, you get the Scarlet Book. If you are playing Violet, you get the Violet Book. As soon as the trade is complete, Sada or Turo disappears into the fog as if they had never been there. Soon after, the game throws you back to the initial screen, and upon entering the save again, you wake up in your dormitory in Paldea, with the book you received now appearing as part of your world.

If you enjoy lore details, there’s a perfect complement to this event: return to the lab in Area Zero and look for a new entry. You’ll find a note added to a book, in which Sada or Turo describes a strange occurrence during research, mentioning being taken to a place with a lake and receiving a white book from a child. It’s direct confirmation that this encounter truly “marked” the professor’s timeline.

SYNCHRO MACHINE

Another new feature unlocked in this post-game is an item that completely changes how you explore the Terarium: the Synchro Machine. To unlock it, go to the Blueberry Academy and use Fly to reach the Central Plaza in the Terarium. Once you arrive there, look for a researcher named Synclaire near the landing point. She’s a Black scientist, practically next to where you land, and she invites you to participate in an experiment. Accept, and she takes you to a test area.

Before speaking to her again, prepare your team correctly. The Pokémon you want to control needs to be in the first slot of your team. Make it come out of its Poké Ball, and then confirm with Synclaire that you are ready. The game synchronizes, and for a few moments, it’s as if you become that Pokémon: the camera, the movements, and the sensation of displacement become that of its body. In the first test, the task is very simple, just walk to a tree up ahead. Completing this, you return to your character’s body and earn 3 Rare Candies.

Synclaire offers a second test immediately afterward. Bring the Pokémon out again and ask it to synchronize once more. Now the objective is to defeat three Pokémon that appear in your path using the same Auto Battle style, but with you directly controlling the synchronized Pokémon. Simply approach the target to initiate, and you can also force the start of the battle when necessary. After you defeat three opponents, the experiment is considered a success, you return to your body and receive the real Synchro Machine, unlocking its use without depending on the scientist.

From now on, within the Terarium, you activate synchronization by holding L and pressing R. This always places you in the body of the first Pokémon in your team. Your character stays still in the place where you activated the function, while you roam with the synchronized Pokémon wherever you want. In this mode, you can collect items on the ground, complete some BB Quests, and even resolve Auto Battles just by touching wild Pokémon. To cancel and return to normal, repeat the command by holding L and pressing R again.

However, here’s a warning that saves a lot of frustration: while you’re synchronized, you can’t capture Pokémon. So, if you encounter a shiny and are too far from where your character stopped, you might end up wasting time going back or unsyncing in the wrong place, because when you exit the mode you reappear exactly where your character was, not where the synchronized Pokémon ended up. There’s also a fun interaction: pressing ZR during synchronization makes a giant ball similar to a Marill Ball appear for you to push and play with in the environment. And everything you do in this mode respects the limitations of the chosen Pokémon. If it’s slow, you also become slow. If it swims, you enter the water. If it flies, you move through the air. Some that alternate between walking and flying allow you to switch modes using the run button, making exploration much more varied depending on what you chose to synchronize.

TEAM STAR

There’s also an extra ending to the Team Star story that many people miss. For this event to appear, you need to meet some specific requirements: have finished the Indigo Disk story up to the credits after Terapagos, have completely finished at least one subject at Naranja or Uva Academy up to the final exam, and also have watched the post-game part where you unlock Penny’s dorm, because that’s what confirms you saw the sequence of her observing the adaptation of the Team Star bosses.

With everything ready, go to Naranja or Uva Academy in Paldea and look for Giacomo and Eri near the bookshelves in the entrance area. This time they appear wearing regular school uniforms, and Eri is almost unrecognizable because she looks so different. They explain that they are studying for the exams, but Mela, Atticus, and Ortega are struggling and genuinely afraid of failing the year. Since you have a good reputation and have proven you can handle tests and challenges, Giacomo suggests you become the group’s tutor. They ask you to keep this a secret from Penny because they want to handle it themselves without worrying their friend.

When you confirm you’ll help, Giacomo and Eri take you to a room where Ortega and Atticus are already waiting, also in regular uniforms. Ortega tries to reject the idea at first, striking a proud pose, but Eri cuts him off immediately and puts him back in line. Mela isn’t there because she left shortly before you arrived, so your immediate task is to find her. Leave the room and go to the Schoolyard, near the garden. You find Mela there, also dressed as a regular student, and when you talk to her you explain that you’re gathering everyone to study. She agrees to come back, and you return to the classroom together.

With the group complete, the question-and-answer session begins. First, talk to Ortega, and when he asks you, choose the option “She must actually love him a lot.” Next, talk to Atticus and answer “No, you’ll need numbers.” Finally, Mela asks a series of questions, and the correct answers are “That’s false,” then “Tera Jewel,” then “Like, our future goals?” and finally “You have your art, don’t you?” When you get everything right, the atmosphere changes completely because they realize they can move forward and that they are not alone. Eri thanks you for your help, and as a reward you receive a Gold Bottle Cap, as well as Team Star themed clothing and accessories.

Shortly after, Penny enters the room and is surprised to see everyone gathered. She tries to leave so as not to interfere, but is held back and listens to the explanation. She is a little upset that they hid it from her, because she wanted to help from the beginning; after all, she is part of all this. The conversation ends well, with the bosses accepting that they can count on her as well. A practical bonus is that, from this point on, Atticus can appear in Port Marinada participating in auctions with accessories, so it’s worth visiting the area from time to time if you like cosmetic items.

PERRIN

If you’ve already completed the Blood Moon Ursaluna quest in Kitakami, there’s one more important step involving Perrin inside the Terarium. Use Fly to Savanna Rest Area 1, which is very close to the Terarium entrance. Perrin will be there. When you talk to her, she thanks you again for your help in Kitakami and mentions the Hisuian Growlithe she gave you. If you evolved it and have Hisuian Arcanine in your party, she praises your partner and reacts differently. Then, she says she wants to take pictures of you catching Pokémon at the Blueberry Academy and gives you a goal: complete all 200 Pokémon in the Blueberry Pokédex. This goal takes time, but when you complete it, she promises a special tip.

Once you have all 200 registered in the Blueberry Dex, return to the same spot and speak to Perrin again. She congratulates you and then shows you two pictures of strange, rare-looking Pokémon. If you are in Scarlet, the pictures are of Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt. If you are in Violet, they are of Iron Boulder and Iron Crown. She asks if you recognize the location in the photos and comments that they might be photoshopped, then suggests going to the real location to check. The location is Area Zero, so gather your best Poké Balls and head there.

In Scarlet, the Gouging Fire appears at the top of Area Zero, in one of the highest areas you can reach, near a structure resembling communication equipment, like a satellite. It’s at level 75. The Raging Bolt is at the opposite end, in the deeper parts, in a shallow water area near a waterfall, also at level 75. In Violet, the Iron Boulder appears in a lower part of Area Zero, at a point below a huge rock, near a platform that appears to have collapsed. It’s also at level 75. The Iron Crown, on the other hand, is higher up, in an opening in a cliff near Research Station 1, again at level 75.

After capturing the two Pokémon that exist in your version, return to the Terarium and find Perrin in Savanna Rest Area 1. When you talk to her, she’s shocked to see that one of the Pokémon in the photos is real and immediately pulls out her camera to take a picture. Talk to her again, and when she realizes you brought the second one as well, she takes another picture and celebrates having confirmed that the rumors were true. As a final thank you for this investigation, Perrin gives you a Sport Ball, a special Poké Ball that perfectly matches the type of collection this post-game encourages.

MARK CHARM

After truly dedicating yourself to the Terarium and completing the entire Blueberry Pokédex, with all 240 Pokémon registered, you can get an excellent reward for those who enjoy capturing creatures with extra rarities. Once you’ve completed the Dex, go to the main entrance of the Blueberry Academy and look for Director Cyrano. He recognizes your effort, congratulates you on your achievement, and gives you the Mark Charm. This charm is a passive item that increases the chance of encountering Pokémon with Marks, those special markings that can appear in the Pokémon’s summary and unlock titles when it enters battle. If you enjoy hunting rare variations, collecting, or simply giving your team different titles, this item becomes a must-have.

Crystal Cave in Area Zero

Now that you’ve completed the Underdepths expedition, there’s one last secret hidden in that same area: a passage still blocked by crystal and a Stellar Pokémon with terastalization that wasn’t defeated during the story. The scheme is the same as the previous barriers. A Stellar Pokémon is “holding” the blockage, and when it falls, the crystal wall disappears and opens a new area. To do this, return to Area Zero, descend to the bottom of the crater, enter the Zero Lab, and use the elevator to return to Area Zero Underdepths.

As soon as you exit the elevator, proceed through the starting area until you enter the first cave. Go through this first tunnel and continue until you reach the second open area, then proceed again to enter the second cave. Exiting it, you will be in a third area. In this third area, look to the right and you will see a huge crystal formation that looks like a climbable wall. Climb up there. At the top, you will notice a cave entrance that is sealed by a large, compact crystal. Remember this point well, because this is precisely the door that will open after the right battle.

Now descend back to the main part of the third area and continue following the normal path forward, entering the third cave. You will emerge into a fourth area. As soon as you arrive, notice a pointed crystal protruding from the wall on the right side. Right next to this crystal, further to the left, there is a tiny opening in the rock, almost hidden. The easiest way to enter is by using your Koraidon or Miraidon to align yourself and “fit” into the opening. Go through this small entrance and you will fall into a space where there is a thick crystal pillar dominating the center.

From this pillar, do the following to find the Pokémon that unlocks the secret: fly upwards, circling the left side of the pillar to gain some altitude, and look for a new cave entrance higher up, in a position that doesn’t attract attention from a distance. Inside this cave is the target you need to defeat.

You will face a level 80 Garchomp with Tera Stellar. Winning this battle will automatically remove the barrier sealing the entrance to the third area. Return to the point you memorized, where the crystal was blocking the cave, and enter the newly opened passage. Inside, the place functions as a hidden vault. You’ll find many items scattered around, most notably a huge quantity of Tera Shards of various types, great for those who frequently switch between Tera types and want to stock up for different builds.

THE HIDDEN TREASURE OF AREA ZERO; MOCHI MAYHEM

This is the epilogue involving the generation’s mythical Pokémon, and it only begins if you have the correct item. To activate it, you need to obtain the Mythical Pecha Berry via Mystery Gift. Open the Poké Portal in the menu, go to Mystery Gift, and select the option to receive it online. Find the Mythical Pecha Berry gift and redeem it. Additionally, the game only unlocks the epilogue if you have already won the Academy Ace Tournament at least once and completed the Teal Mask and Indigo Disk stories up to the credits after capturing Terapagos.

With everything ready, travel to Kitakami and go to Mossui Town. Enter the village grocery store, the little shop where you buy items. On the counter, near the shopkeeper, there’s a decoration that looks like an old, somewhat abandoned plush toy. Interact with it and notice that it moves in a strange way, as if it’s not just an ornament. At that exact moment, your Rotom Phone rings. It’s Arven, calling you to meet him at his house in Cabo Poco. Confirm that you’ll go, and as soon as the call ends, the plush toy simply disappears. Don’t chase after it now. The immediate objective is to return to Paldea and go to your house.

FRIENDS OF PALDEA AND KITAKAMI

Upon arriving at Cabo Poco, the surprise is that Arven didn’t come alone. Nemona and Penny also showed up, even uninvited, because they overheard the conversation and decided to join the adventure. Go inside and watch the scene with your mother offering food, making everyone happy and comfortable. After that, a letter arrives from Kieran. He explains that he and Carmine are in Kitakami for a while, away from school, and asks you to visit them, since you’ve barely spoken since the chaos in Area Zero. He even sends extra tickets so you can bring friends along, and Nemona, Penny, and Arven accept immediately.

The group agrees to meet outside Mesagoza to depart. Go to Mesagoza South and meet the three of them. Penny calls her father to let him know it’s a trip with friends and that everything is under control, and she makes a comment calling the trip an “Advent tour,” implying that her father is someone well-known. With everyone ready, you set off towards Kitakami.

Upon arriving in Mossui Town, the caretaker of the community center appears and says he has already reserved rooms for the group. His friends from Paldea are curious to meet Kieran, so the next step is to go to his house. There, Kieran comments that things are strange at home. When Nemona sees Kieran, she is already full of energy, wanting to battle him because he became champion at Blueberry Academy. Penny and Arven introduce themselves, and the atmosphere seems light for a moment, but Nemona practically pulls Kieran by the hand and takes him to the front of the community center to fight.

Go to the front of the community center and find the two of them. When you arrive, the battle is already over and Kieran has lost. Carmine appears soon after, but she’s acting bizarrely, doing a strange dance and repeating “mochi mochi” as if in a trance. Nemona wants to turn this into a battle too, but Kieran cuts her off and asks for help taking Carmine home because she’s been acting strangely for a while and people are talking about a “curse.” You and your friends offer to help, but Kieran asks to leave it for tomorrow and suggests everyone rest at the community center. The story locks Kitakami’s time as night from this point on.

MOCHI MOCHI

Inside the community center, Nemona explains that she went to buy food and drinks at the grocery store, but no one was serving her, so she just left the money and took what she needed. Arven says he wants to find the remote to put something different on the TV, and the group decides to divide up the tasks to search. Go to the right side of the main room and look for a potted plant. The remote is hidden there. After you get it, go back to your friends and notice that Nemona hasn’t returned yet. Kieran decides to go with you to search outside and asks Arven and Penny to stay there in case Nemona reappears.

Outside, you and Kieran see two villagers. Approach them and ask if they’ve seen Nemona. As soon as you try to talk, the two are enveloped by a strange aura and begin repeating the same dance and the same “mochi mochi” phrase as Carmine. This triggers a tag-team battle, you and Kieran against the two villagers. Winning makes it clear that it’s not an isolated case; more people are being affected by the same influence. Soon after, you spot Nemona running towards Kitakami Hall. Follow her.

Use Reveler’s Road to get there faster. Upon reaching the stairs of Kitakami Hall, you’ll find Kieran’s grandparents. The grandfather says he left Carmine sleeping at home and came to buy her favorite food to try and break the trance. He also mentions that the grandmother saw Nemona passing by. However, when he turns around, the grandmother seems already affected and starts offering him mochi to eat, insisting until he gives in. The instant he eats, the two enter the same state of dance and repetition, and this turns into another tag-team battle with Kieran by her side.

Grandpa Yukito battles with level 80 Arbok and level 80 Weezing. Grandma Hideko uses level 82 Chandelure and level 82 Mamoswine. After winning, Kieran panics, fearing he might also get infected. Calm him down and continue the story. Soon after, Arven calls saying he heard people shouting “mochi mochi” near the grocery store and got worried. He and Penny are outside now. Before he can explain properly, there’s some strange interference and the call drops. Without wasting any time, you and Kieran need to rush back to Mossui Town to find out what’s going on.

When you and Kieran arrive back in Mossui Town, head straight to the grocery store area, because that’s where Arven and Penny were. As you approach, Arven apologizes for the dropped call and explains what happened: in the confusion, Penny got scared by the “strange” people in the village, bumped into him, and the Rotom Phone fell, ending the call. Penny insists she saw a small, round, and very strange creature, and while she tries to describe it, you realize the most important detail isn’t on the ground. Look up at the grocery store and you’ll notice a figure clinging to a high position, as if observing everything. It strongly resembles that aged plush toy you saw on the counter that disappeared afterward. Before anyone can react, the creature opens up like a capsule and fires mochi in projectile form. Arven and Penny end up swallowing the mochi in fright; you manage to dodge it. In Kieran’s case, the impact is different because the mochi hits his head, stunning him for a moment.

Soon after, Arven and Penny become enveloped in a dark aura and enter the same mochi-mochi trance, repeating the dance and catchphrase as if they had become different people. Kieran immediately realizes that this isn’t just “strange people,” it’s control, and identifies the creature as the one responsible for manipulating the villagers. However, instead of confronting the problem head-on, it uses Arven and Penny as protection, forcing you to do the most tedious thing possible: fight against your own friends to pursue the real culprit. The battle takes place in pairs, with Kieran on your side. Arven uses level 82 Greedent, level 82 Cloyster, and level 83 Mabosstiff. Penny uses level 84 Umbreon, level 84 Leafeon, and level 85 Sylveon. Your goal here is to win without losing control of the field, because her team is resilient and tends to prolong the fight. As soon as you defeat the two, the aura dissipates and the creature immediately flees, darting away before being surrounded.

Kieran runs after her, and the path leads to Loyalty Plaza. Follow it without deviating, because the next part happens immediately afterward. Upon arriving, you find Nemona with the mischievous creature, and the situation worsens because she has also been affected and begins to repeat the mochi mochi with the same dance. Kieran looks at her and freezes, convinced that he has no chance against someone at that level, and takes a step back. But as he retreats, he realizes the magnitude of the disaster: Carmine, Arven, Penny, the grandparents, and practically everyone in the village is already infected and doing the same choreography. He then decides to hold back the crowd to give you space and asks you to defeat Nemona because if she continues out of control, no one will be able to solve the case.

The battle against Nemona depends on the starter Pokémon you chose at the beginning of the game. If you started with Sprigatito, she enters with a level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Goodra, level 86 Ribombee, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Quaquaval with Fighting-type Tetrastalization. If you started with Fuecoco, she uses level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Goodra, level 86 Milotic, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Meowscarada with Dark-type Tetrastalization. If you started with Quaxly, her team is level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Goodra, level 86 Dusknoir, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Skeledirge with Ghost-type Tetrastalization. Treat this like an end-of-event battle, because the levels are high and the team is well-rounded, so don’t hold back on resources.

PECHARUNT

With Nemona defeated and no one else holding you back, the little creature finally stops running and stands there, as if waiting for your challenge. This is where you discover the name of the culprit: Pecharunt, a mythical Pokémon. The fight takes place in a solo Raid Battle format, meaning it has a higher health bar than in a regular battle. If you enter using Ogerpon, it reacts in a special way, and there are also different interactions if you use Okidogi, Munkidori, or Fezandipiti, so it’s worth watching these reactions if you like the details of the game. Pecharunt is at level 88. The focus is on winning safely, because this battle marks the end of the epilogue.

Upon defeating Pecharunt, Kieran tells you to capture it immediately, and here’s the best part: just like in Tera Raids, the capture is guaranteed, so you don’t risk losing the mythical Pokémon due to bad luck. As soon as the Pokémon is captured, the influence disappears and the “curse” that made everyone dance is instantly broken. Arven and Penny return to normal, and Kieran calmly explains to them how it all started and why the entire village was being manipulated. When you go to check on Nemona, she still does the mochi mochi dance for a moment, but quickly recovers and returns to her normal self. Carmine and the grandparents arrive asking what happened, and after all the confusion is cleared up, the game jumps forward a few days to show that life has returned to normal.

You reappear at the community center and realize your group’s trip is coming to an end. Leave the building with Arven, Nemona, and Penny. Outside, Carmine and Kieran appear to thank you, say goodbye, and acknowledge that without your help, things would have ended much worse. Arven, Nemona, and Penny comment that they really liked Kitakami. Kieran decides to return to Blueberry Academy and resume his routine, and Carmine chooses to go with him. The farewell closes the epilogue, and then you return to Paldea, appearing at the entrance of either Orange or Grape Academy.

BATTLE AGAINST KITAKAMI’S FRIENDS

After you complete Mochi Mayhem, the list of available characters in the League Club changes, because now even your friends are included in the matchmaking rotation. In the case of Carmine and Kieran, there’s an important difference: since they are students at Blueberry Academy, you don’t need to invite them via computer like you do with other Special Coaches. Instead, they are now included in the same daily appearance system that already exists for the BB League Elite Four. Previously, the League Club showed three members per day from among Crispin, Amarys, Lacey, and Drayton. Now the daily draw also considers Carmine and Kieran, so each day the game chooses three characters from these six to be in the room.

When Carmine or Kieran are present, you might see them talking to others, and the interaction works as follows: the first one-on-one conversation of the day is just small talk. The second time you talk to the person, the battle option appears, and winning grants you special rewards. Carmine fights in double battles with level 82 Mightyena, level 82 Toucannon, level 82 Morpeko, level 82 Ninetales, level 82 Scrafty, and level 83 Sinistcha with plant-type Terrastalization. Kieran also fights in double battles and brings a heavier team: level 85 Politoed with Drizzle holding Wacan Berry, with Ice Beam, Weather Ball, Psychic, and Helping Hand; level 85 Dragonite with Multiscale holding Expert Belt, with Hurricane, Thunder, Extreme Speed, and Breaking Swipe; level 86 Grimmsnarl with Prankster holding Focus Sash, with Sucker Punch, Spirit Break, Light Screen, and Reflect; Porygon-Z level 86 with Adaptability holding Life Orb, with Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Shadow Ball; Incineroar level 86 with Intimidate holding Sitrus Berry, with Darkest Lariat, Brick Break, Flare Blitz, and Fake Out; and Hydrapple level 87 with Fighting Terastalization, Supersweet Syrup ability, holding Assault Vest, with Fickle Beam, Gyro Ball, Tera Blast, and Earth Power.

In addition to battles, Carmine and Kieran also have exclusive trades, but since they are part of the daily rotation, the right way to unlock them is to visit the League Club frequently. Whenever you find one of them at the club, talk to them individually at least once, because what counts for the trade is registering conversations on different days, not necessarily winning a battle. After talking to the same person on three different days, the trade option will appear in the next interaction, and the rules remain the same as other trades: the Pokémon you offer must be one you caught, it cannot be shiny, and it cannot be legendary or mythical. Carmine trades for a level 30 Poltchageist. Kieran trades for a level 15 Applin.

BATTLE AGAINST PALDEA’S FRIENDS

The epilogue also unlocks your main Paldea partners as formal guests in the Special Coaches system. From here on, Nemona, Arven, and Penny can be summoned via the League Club computer, and the only requirement is having completed Mochi Mayhem. Remember the guest limit; only two can be in the room at the same time, so if you invite a third, someone will automatically leave. With them, the pattern is the same: the first meeting during the visit is a conversation, the second meeting unlocks a battle, and winning grants rewards.

Nemona’s team, when called upon as Special Coach, also varies depending on your starter Pokémon. If you started with Sprigatito, she uses level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Decidueye, level 86 Ribombee, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Quaquaval with Fighting-type Tetrastalization. If you started with Fuecoco, she comes with level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Infernape, level 86 Milotic, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Meowscarada with Dark-type Tetrastalization. If you started with Quaxly, she uses level 86 Lycanroc, level 86 Kommo-o, level 86 Greninja, level 86 Dusknoir, level 86 Pawmot, and level 87 Skeledirge with Ghost-type Tetrastalization. Arven uses level 82 Greedent, level 82 Cloyster, level 82 Skovillain, level 82 Toedscruel, level 82 Garganacl, and level 83 Mabosstiff with dark terastalization. Penny appears with level 84 Umbreon, level 84 Vaporeon, level 84 Jolteon, level 84 Flareon, level 84 Leafeon, and level 85 Sylveon with fairy terastalization.

To complete the trades with Nemona, Arven, and Penny, you need to call them three times each and, on the first two visits, talk to them individually at least once, as this tracks your progress towards the trade. On the third visit, when you talk to the character, the trade option appears. The restrictions on the offered Pokémon remain the same as for other trades in the system. Nemona offers a level 50 Paldean Tauros. Arven offers a level 7 Skwovet. Penny offers a level 1 Eevee. With this, you complete the epilogue not only by capturing the mythical Pokémon and ending the mochi mochi confusion, but also by expanding the League Club to include practically everyone important from your journey, with tough battles, different dialogues, and exclusive gifts to collect.
