PROLOGUE

The horror adventure begins with you taking on the role of Rebecca Chambers, a young and talented officer in the STARS, the elite division of the Raccoon City police department. As a new and promising member of the Bravo team, Rebecca and her companions are sent to investigate a series of bizarre murders that have been happening on the outskirts of Raccoon City.

Their mission takes them to fly over the dense forest that borders the city. However, the helicopter transporting the Bravo team suffers a critical mechanical failure, forcing them to make an emergency landing in the heart of the forest. Enrico, the team captain and an experienced leader, takes the initiative and orders the team to split up to explore the surrounding area and gather any clues that could help in their investigations.

By an unfortunate coincidence, Rebecca comes across the wreckage of a police car. The evidence shows that she was subjected to an attack of great violence, suggesting the interference of something or someone of extreme strength and unknown lethality. Curiosity and investigative instinct lead Rebecca to search the vehicle and, inside, she finds a folder of documents that shed new light on the situation.

The documentation reveals that the police car was on its way to the Ragathon base with an important mission: transporting a highly dangerous prisoner, Billy Coen. A former lieutenant and just 26 years old, Coen was convicted on July 22 for the deaths of 23 people. His statements were never accepted as true, shrouding him in a cloak of mystery.

Enrico, aware of the discoveries made by Rebecca, acts prudently and directs the team to deal with this new situation with extreme caution. Coen could be responsible for the strange murders they were investigating. Once again, they split up, with Rebecca tasked with investigating further.

Alone in the vastness of the forest, Rebecca, driven by bravery and commitment to solving the case, stumbles upon an unexpected clue: an apparently abandoned train, the “Ecliptic Express”. Determined to uncover what’s behind all this, she enters the vehicle.

However, she is completely oblivious to the fact that, just two hours earlier, the train was the scene of a brutal attack by creatures known as Leeches (leeches). Unprepared for the horror unfolding before her eyes, Rebecca must now face her fear and survive a situation her training as a police officer could not have prepared her for. The frightening creatures, the dense forest and the suspected presence of the murderer Billy Coen turn her investigative work into a fight for survival, triggering a nightmare she could never have predicted.

THE TRAIN

It all starts with you getting on the “Ecliptic Express”. The moment you walk through the door on the left, a video plays, exposing the horrifying reality of what happened on board the train. You find yourself confronted by zombies. Take them down and proceed, carefully exploring each room in the carriage. Every corner has something useful – ammunition, an Ink Ribbon hidden in a black lab coat, healing items and two important files that must be collected to better understand the plot.

Continuing down the hallway, you’ll come across a body holding a key. Collect it and watch the subsequent video where you are introduced to Billy Coen. After meeting Billy, return to the path you took. Be ready to defend yourself against zombie dogs. Collect the ammo from Edward’s body and proceed.

When you come across a staircase on the left, go up and look for a useful healing herb. Continue to the first car and use the key to unlock the door at the end. Another video with Billy will play, and after it ends, go up the stairs. Remember to collect the file on the coffee table before proceeding. In this part, you will encounter a leech zombie, but it is best to avoid the confrontation to save ammo, as it will not cause damage.

Leave Billy (press Start) and use Rebecca to climb through the window and go to the end of the hallway, where you should fix some cables. Watch the resulting video and collect ammo, healing items and another key found in the area. Insert the key into the food elevator near where you found the Green Herb.

Switch to Billy (press Start again) and go through the door that is now open thanks to the key. Collect the key from the elevator and return to the place where Edward died. The next door is your next destination. Inside, you’ll find a suitcase in a closet. Press the button on the wall to reveal a ladder, which you must climb. There is a file on the floor and a train map on the wall. Collect them and go to the door at the end of the hall.

Take the Ice Pick from the cart and go through the next door. There’s a Hunting Gun and additional ammo waiting for you, plus an Ink Ribbon. As soon as you try to leave the room, a giant scorpion will attack you. Use the Hunting Gun and shoot down when he approaches. Several well-aimed headshots will defeat him. Collect the Panel Opener on the way back to the food elevator and send the Ice Pick to Rebecca through it.

With Rebecca, take the Ice Pick from the elevator and use it to unlock the door. Avoid the zombies and go down the stairs. Press Start to have Billy join you again. Use the Panel Opener to open the trapdoor and enter it. Kill the Cerberus (zombie dogs) and get the Gold Ring in the last cage. Combine it with the suitcase and proceed through the next door.

Leave one of the characters holding the lever (leave them in solo mode) and use the other to collect the Hookshot. Return to the 2nd car of the train, unlock the door, but don’t go back through the trap door. Pass the suitcase to Rebecca and use the Hookshot on the window to access a new location.

Enter through the opening, watching out for the lurking zombie, and collect the Jewelry Box. Examine it to find the Silver Ring. Combine it with the suitcase to get the Blue Keycard. Exit this area and return to Billy.

Now, you must go to the carriage where Edward died and use the card on the last door. After the video, go straight to the train control cabin. Watch the video and choose one of the characters to continue (Billy is more resistant, but with Rebecca you will have access to an extra video). Collect the card and return to where you found the Hookshot, at the end of the train.

Use the card on the computer and solve the puzzle, which asks you to add up until you get the number indicated on the screen (for example, if it is 36, add 9 numbers of 3 that will give 27 and then add 9 to get a total of 36). After solving the puzzle with one character, repeat the process with the other character on the second computer. Once resolved, watch the video and prepare for the next phase.

THE MANSION

At the beginning, you will face zombies that must be neutralized so that you can collect the items scattered around the place. If the previous instructions were not followed, some items may have been lost.

Continuing, enter the door at the end of the hall to find yourself in the sewers. Simply go forward and climb up. A video will activate, showing two familiar characters. After the video, you will be in the Marcus mansion.

Before proceeding, return to the location where the train derailed and collect all the items left there, taking them back to the mansion’s entrance hall. Leaving the items here will make your life easier later, but remember that all the items will not fit. Therefore, leave some of them outside the mansion’s front door, as they will be safe, without the risk of being stolen by zombies.

Once organized, go up the stairs on the left and go through the door on the left, getting the Crank Handle and a file. Return and head to the double doors located behind the statue. This room contains ammo, a file, and an Ink Ribbon.

Proceed through the door on the left and then through the double door. In this hallway, two zombies will be lurking. Defeat them and get Microfilm A, the map and another Ink Ribbon. Place Rebecca in the elevator and, with Billy, use the Crank Handle in the opening next to it. With Rebecca, kill the bugs and go through the door, and then through the next door.

When you go down the stairs, go through the first door to find more bugs. After eliminating them, grab the White Statue, the Grenade Launcher and additional ammo. Exit and go through the second door. If your inventory is full, it is recommended to leave some items in the room behind the statue.

Return to the hall and proceed through the double doors on the first floor. Go through the door on the left (there’s more ammo here) and then through the door on the right. Remembering that on the left is the machine that releases steam, a place that should be revisited later. In this room, take the Shotgun, gasoline and Black Statue and go up the stairs. Unlock the door at the end of the hallway and return to the hall.

Head to the area where you found the Grenade Launcher and go up the stairs. With Billy, activate the lever next to the door where Rebecca entered. Then have Rebecca go downstairs and get the Fire Key from under the cage. At that moment, a gigantic Centipede will attack Rebecca. To defeat this boss, shoot without stopping, avoiding being run over by it. After defeating the centipede, he returns to the hall, preparing for the challenges that still await in the next phase.

MICROFILMS

Initially, enter through the double doors on the right and use the Fire Key on the red door to get an herb, the Lighter Fluid (which must be combined with Billy’s lighter), and some bottles.

Then return to the hallway preceding the elevator room and open the door at the end. If everything has been done correctly up to this point, you will have the option to discard the key. Inside the room, find ammo and a file. Push the small table over to the deer head on the wall and use the other character to press the button that turns on the lights. Take the Iron Needle from the deer.

Proceed to the adjacent room and use Billy’s lighter on the candle next to the closed door. Eliminate the two zombies inside the room and collect the ammo for the Shotgun and Hunting Gun. Climb onto the platform and push the shelf at the bottom to get the Book of Good, which must be examined to acquire the Angel Wings. Combine these with the White Statue and place it on the statue in the hall.

Return to the room where the bugs were first found and use the machine, setting the time to 8:15 (VIII for the hour and III for the minutes in Roman format). The clock will chime and two doors will open. Return to the hall and go to the white door that has been unlocked. Defeat the zombies inside, collect the Microfilm B, a Green Herb, a file, and ammo for the Shotgun.

With the Microfilms in hand, return to the hall and head to the only door that has not yet been explored. When you enter, you will find two herbs, gasoline and bottles. Be alert, as a Leech Zombie will attack on your way out – the same type of zombie you faced on the train. When leaving the room, watch out for another Zombie Leech in the hallway. Head to the door at the end of the hallway and use the Microfilms on the projector.

Study the numbers displayed by the projector carefully, as they correspond to the tables in the room behind the statue. Collect a floppy disk found in this area, along with a file and ammo. Use the floppy disk on the stage computer in the room with the double doors behind the statue. A combination will appear on the screen, based on the numbers displayed by the tables. Use the characters to press the corresponding buttons on the tables according to the “Microfilm Image” file. For example, if the combination is 4D, one of the characters must go to the second table in the first row and activate the first computer, and the other character must go to the fourth table in the first row and activate the second computer. This will open the doors blocked by the armor.

Enter through the door on the left of the room and then through the double doors. This room contains yet another enigma: a checkmated chessboard. Reposition the large pieces in the middle of the room to match the smaller board on the table. Push the white king down until you can move it one square to the right, then up again. Be careful not to move the other pieces, as this will release poisonous gas into the room. When solving this puzzle, get the Book of Evil on the small table where the smaller board was (examine the book to get the Black Wing).

The door at the end of this hallway leads to a medical room with blue herbs (useful if you’re poisoned) and some zombies. In this room, you will find a cylinder. With Rebecca, go to him and fill a bottle she has in her medical bag. Now, return to the hall.

Combine the statues with their respective wings and place them on the larger statue in the hall (the one with the scales). This will open a frame just below, revealing a hole. Enter through this hole and follow the corridor, avoiding the spiders or eliminating them with the Shotgun. In this hallway, you will find a file and two herbs. Go through the next door and help Rebecca climb up the ventilation duct.

Go back with Billy to the hall and go to the room with the steam machine. Switch to Rebecca and, with her, check the electricity machine and position the pointer at 70. The correct order to press the switches is: up, up, down, up, up. A video will be displayed after this action.

Billy needs to be quick to save Rebecca after this. Return to the restaurant through the double doors on the first floor of the hall, past the steam machine and through the door at the end. Ignore the monkeys and head to the end of the hallway. Do not enter the first door, but the second, on the right. Watch the video, go through the door and save Rebecca (you’ll find an Ink Ribbon next to the door).

Kill the monkeys in the next room and solve the animal puzzle by lighting up the animals in the following order: deer, wolf, horse, tiger, snake and eagle. A gate will open as a result. Follow it and go through the first door to get the Unity Tablet.

The last door in the hallway houses some herbs, a file and Ink Ribbon. Go back and go to the door next to the one where you saved Rebecca.

From here, you will have already achieved several important items and advanced significantly in the game. Continue to explore and solve puzzles, always keeping an eye on the items you collect and the enemies you face.

LOOKING FOR TABLETS

Start by entering the first door you see. Get ready to eliminate all the insects that appear and look for the Locker Key, a crucial item for this phase of the game. With the key in hand, continue down the corridor and enter through the next door. Go up the stairs, collect all the available ammo and use the Locker Key on the locker you will find. Inside the closet is a suitcase that you need to examine. Use combination 385 to open it and get the Handgun Parts. Once you’ve done that, combine the pieces with Billy’s or Rebecca’s Handgun, depending on who you choose for this task. While you are in this room, don’t forget to collect the Magnum ammo that is hidden in a cabinet at the back of the room.

Now, with Rebecca, go down the stairs and head to the passage next to the stairs. On the other hand, with Billy, press the buttons in the following sequence: left, center, right, center, right. While you do this with Billy, move Rebecca along the bars until she finds a button. Press it and be ready to face the Hunters that will be released. Defeat them and get the Water Key from one of the cages. Now, reunite with Billy and return to the hall.

In the Hall, go through the door on the right on the second floor and enter the second door you see. Use the Water Key to open the blue door and enter. Through the first door, be prepared to fight a Zombie Leech. After defeating him, collect the Vise Handle. Return to the hallway and go through the second door. At this point, you must separate the characters.

With Billy, play the piano to open a secret passage. Enter it with Rebecca, collect the drums and play the piano again with Billy to reopen the passage. After collecting the battery, return to the hallway and go through the last door.

Go through the door on the right, eliminate the zombies you find and leave Rebecca here for now. Pass the Tablet and battery to Billy and return to the place where you fought the Centipede, going through the double doors – be alert for the insects that may attack.

In the telescope room, use the Tablet on the machine and return to the hall. From here, head through the double doors opposite the stairs and to the right, use the battery in the designated opening. The action will lower an elevator with a box. Climb onto it and jump to the other side, pushing the box to the column with a shiny object on top. This will give you the Discipline Tablet. After getting the Tablet, return to the telescope room, don’t forget the Hookshot, and return to Rebecca.

Down the hall, you will find two doors. The door on the left is uninteresting and a leech zombie will spawn when you exit it. Your attention should be on the door on the right. Use the Vise Handle on the equipment you find there and collect the last Tablet, the Obedience.

Now, head to the Telescope room with Billy. Place the remaining two Tablets into the machine.

THE CHURCH

First, be prepared with the Hookshot, Shotgun, and Grenade Launcher in your inventory. It is ideal for Billy to be equipped with the Shotgun and Rebecca with the other items. Follow the double door on the left, go to the end and you will find a church. Proceed to the right and enter the small building.

With one of the characters, step on the tile located in the upper left corner of the room. With the other character, enter the church. Go to the end of the hallway, collect the ammo, First Aid Spray and Ink Ribbon. If necessary, save your progress. When you return, you will be attacked by a giant bat. Stay calm and wait for the bat to approach and then fire accurate shots with the Shotgun. After defeating the bat, gather the two characters inside the church.

Choose one of the characters to use the Hookshot in the opening above, then go up and down the stairs on the other side. Turn on the nearby switch to unlock the gate and exit the church. With the other character, also leave the church, go left and meet the first character to go down the elevator together.

In the next room, there is another opening and another elevator. Use Rebecca to climb through the opening. Here, you will face a Zombie Leech. After eliminating him, grab the Leech Capsule from the machine behind him. Head through the door, press the nearby button to raise the wall, and proceed through the door at the end of the hallway.

Collect the Red Chemical in the pipe and go through the other door. Here, there is an elevator and some zombies that need to be eliminated. Collect the Green Chemical to form the Stripping Agent and combine it with the Leech Capsule. The result will be a Blue Leech. Use the elevator near the door to send the Blue Leech to Billy.

Near the SAVE point, you will find the elevator where Rebecca sent the Blue Leech. With Billy, collect the Blue Leech, exit the office, eliminate the leech zombie and use the Blue Leech on the blue door at the end of the hallway.

In the next room, collect the Input Reg. Coil and go through the other door. Eliminate the zombies and get the Green Leech Charm. Use the elevator to send this item to Rebecca. With it, take the Charm and use it on the green door in the same room. Collect the Sterilizing Agent and return to the lab where you found the Red Chemical. Use the Sterilizing Agent on the machine and take the Breeding Rm. Key inside the small room.

Return to the hallway where you pressed the button and go through the only locked door. Get ready to eliminate some Hunters and collect the dial. Send this item to Billy and don’t forget to get the Hookshot.

With Billy, use the Dial on the door next to the Red Chemical tank and enter the password 4863. In the next area, activate the switch on the wall and get the Output Reg. Coil next to the train. Switch to Rebecca and head to the nearest door, go down the stairs and meet up with Billy again.

Finally, use the Hookshot in one of the corners of the room to reach an opening. So, use both Coils on the control panel.

THE PLANT

Gather all of Billy’s potent weapons, as you will be parting ways soon. Head to the train and watch the video where Rebecca is attacked by a zombie Leech. Go back to the control panel and reinstall Output Reg. Coil. Continue to the train, and collect the Magnum from the corpse. To make the train move, switch between the levers next to the corpse and at the end of the train.

When leaving the train, go up the stairs and go through the door on the right. You’ll find a small elevator at the far end and an adjacent room filled with ammo, a healing item in the closet, and a map of the location. Use the small elevator and go through the door at the end. Here, purchase the Factory Key and return. Use the elevator again and go through the door on the left. Use the key on the control panel to activate the main elevator and go down.

Follow the elevator at the bottom and watch the video. Pick up the key lying on the floor and use it on the elevator panel on the other side. Get ready for battle against one of the most famous BOW – the Tyrant. Keep moving, avoiding being crushed by it, and use the Magnum to inflict quick damage. After defeating him, enter the elevator.

The elevator levels are divided as follows: Level 1 returns to the train and mansion; Level 2 leads back to where the train stopped, through the locked door; Level 3 is where the battle with the Tyrant took place; and Level 4 is your next destination.

After the video sequence, ignore the elevator and solve the light panel puzzle. The correct order to press the buttons, from left to right, is: 2nd from the fifth line, 2nd from the second line and 3rd from the fifth line. Go down the elevator, kill the zombies and go through the door. Follow the corridor to the end, eliminate the zombie Leech and enter the final door.

In the next area, go down the stairs and go through the door. Keep moving forward, going through each door and down the stairs until you meet Billy again. After the video sequence, solve the box puzzle. Leave Rebecca at the controls and send Billy to push the boxes, making a path to the other side. With the task completed, return to the ladder and fill the well using the Fill/Drain command. Cross the boxes, grab the Valve Handle and return to the hallway where you eliminated the leech zombie.

With Billy, use the Valve Handle on the door in the middle of the hallway and go inside. Kill the zombies, go up the ladder and get the Red Chemical from Rebecca. Proceed through the door next to the stairs, eliminate the hunters and continue forward, passing through the zombie room until you reach an elevator. Take the elevator, go straight through the room, ignore the door and get ready to face the Tyrant again. After defeating him, press the light button, climb the ladder that appears and collect the Motherboard.

With Rebecca, go to the lower room of B7, which has an elevator on the upper right side of the map. Go back and use the Motherboard on the computer. Go to the cabin, turn the lever and proceed through the door next to the cabin. Eliminate the insect, get the Blue Chemical in the tube to form Sulfuric Acid. Take the Industrial Water and combine it with the acid to form Battery Fluid.

With Billy, go through the door in the room from the last confrontation with the Tyrant, go through the catwalk (watch out for the frog), go up the stairs and proceed through the door. Unlock the door and go inside, meeting Rebecca. Go to the tanks near the stairs and help Rebecca get the battery up there (you will be attacked by insects), combining it with the fluid afterwards.

Go back to the tractor room and climb onto the forklift box with one of the characters. Meanwhile, the other character must use the battery on the tractor, causing the box to rise to get the keycard. Return to the room where you acquired the battery and go up the stairs. Go through the door that Billy unlocked and use the keycard on the door with the reader, entering through it to continue

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

First, proceed through the opposite door and watch a video sequence, after which you will find yourself in a room infested with Leechs. Your next challenge is to face Marcu’s Creature. Use your most powerful weapons to face this monster. Don’t skimp on ammunition; Your goal here is to inflict as much damage as possible to neutralize the threat.

After defeating Marcu’s Creature, you will notice two Shaft Keys on the ground. Each character must get a key. These keys are essential to open the double door using the corresponding panels next to it.

When you go through the double doors, you will enter the last room where you can save your game. Given the intensity of the clashes that follow, it is essential that you are fully prepared. Equip your characters with the strongest weapons you have and create enough Herbal Mixes to withstand the final confrontation against the game’s true evil. Make sure your weapons are loaded and that you have an adequate supply of ammunition.

Your next step is the elevator. Interact with the panel next to the elevator to activate it and watch another video sequence. Now, you will be face to face with the last boss of the game – the Leech Queen.

The fight against Leech Queen will be a challenging confrontation. You’ll need to protect Rebecca as she operates the floodgates to exterminate the Queen. If the Queen approaches Rebecca, unload your ammo at her to keep her away. This is a delicate balance between protecting Rebecca and inflicting harm on the Queen.

To help with your battle strategy, note that there is a staircase next to the battle area. If you prefer, you can climb this ladder to gain a height advantage, allowing you to shoot the Queen more effectively. Remember that protecting Rebecca is your priority, so keep an eye on any movement the Queen makes towards her.

Once the Leech Queen is defeated, you will watch another video sequence. Then get ready for the final cutscene because, like in any good Resident Evil game, the area will explode. Rebecca and Billy will need to escape the explosion to ensure their survival.

At the end of the story, Rebecca and Billy share one last moment of goodbye. Then, Rebecca spots the mansion that Enrico mentioned earlier. Determined and resilient, she sets out on her next mission: to once again survive the horror that awaits her in the mansion. The Final Confrontation stage is the culmination of the Resident Evil 0 journey.
