Rebirth Island was invaded by both the living and the undead during an infiltration under dangerous weather conditions. These are the tactics you need to survive Rising of the Dead
The undead are back in Warzone and giving new meaning to the familiar map: Rebirth Island, the island of rebirth.
Developed by Beenox, Rise of the Dead is a limited-time mode in Call of Duty: Warzone that allows Operators to become Zombies in a single match with up to 40 players in Quartets.
“As soon as we were asked to bring the memorable Zombie Royale to Rebirth Island, the entire team jumped on board with incredible enthusiasm and lots of cool ideas,” said Marc-André Gagné, Senior Designer of Expert Systems at Beenox. “Our number one priority was to maintain what made the original mode good while at the same time adding some fundamental quality of life improvements and looking for ways to make it a unique Rebirth Island experience.”
Those who remember the previous Zombies per round modes in Warzone will be familiar with this type of undead royale. But with the new Infestation mechanic and several smaller changes – including the deletion of jump scares, which should be good news for scared streamers – Rising of the Dead is set to be a frenetic, fun and challenging experience for all players. .
See below how to enjoy it in the best way:
Rebirth of the Dead – How to Play :
Rebirth of the Dead is an altered Mini Royale where up to 40 players can appear as part of a Quartet (a team of up to four players).
In addition to exploring a haunted version of Rebirth Island covered in fog at dusk, operators who perish will be brought back to life as Zombies.
Ah, but these Zombies aren’t the usual clumsy creatures! Player-controlled zombies have a few tools at their disposal to survive:
Charged Leap: Shorten distances or change movement patterns with this fast-charging ability. The longer you hold down the command to perform a Charged Jump, the further and higher you will jump.
EMP Blast: Destroy enemy electronics – including equipment like Proximity Mines, as well as vehicles and digital sights – and disable the HUD of any operators within the blast radius.
Gas Grenade: Damage and disorient your enemies using the Gas Grenade, which expels toxic particles in a small radius emanating from you. Great when combined with EMP Blast and in close combat.
Updated Resuscitation Mechanics: Syringes, Supply Crates, and Finishing Moves.
As in the previous Zombie Royale, eliminating Operators grants Zombies Syringes with the antidote for their undead condition.
A Zombie needs four syringes to be redeployed as an Operator.
Made for Rebirth of the Dead, single syringes can be found in Supply Crates, Medical Supplies, and Buy Stations.
Now, Zombies can open Supply Crates, Respawn Crates, and even doors, but they can’t break down those heavy, cube-shaped Delivery Crates without the help of an Operator.
Lost syringes will also be outlined through obstacles — walls and other pieces of cover — to make them easy to see, even in low visibility conditions.
Alternatively, a zombie will gain two syringes when eliminating a human Operator. Or, if you land a Finishing Blow on that Operator, you’ll receive four syringes — in other words, automatic redeployment for humiliating hunts.
New Mechanics: Infestation and Medical Supplies :
In addition to adding a new way for zombies to become human again, Beenox had three priorities for this new twist on the old Zombie Royale mode:
“One, we wanted to increase opportunities for interaction between Operators and Zombies on the same team,” Gagné explained. “Number two was to increase the amount of opportunities for players to return to the game. We wanted to keep the party going longer. And third, we wanted to increase the number of Zombies active at once to give that feeling of being cornered against a horde. The last two points are what inspired us to invent the Infestation Mechanic.”
Infestation brings that strong final round vs. Zombies feel to Warzone , as operators may need to fight dozens of newly respawned zombies to survive until the final rounds form.
In Rising of the Dead, the player’s HUD includes an Infestation meter. It fills as zombies are killed. When it fills up, the Infestation event begins.
At the start of an Infestation, each spectator — Zombies that were killed in combat — will respawn. This gives an “extra life after death” to players who may have been eliminated from the game early.
The other event during Rebirth of the Dead is the Medical Supplies event. As the name suggests, this event deposits Medical Supplies containing Syringes and very rare equipment across the map. Operators can open these boxes for their Zombified squadmates.
Apart from these differences, the rules of Rebirth of the Dead are as in a standard Mini Royale: the collapse of the circle does not wait for any Operator or Zombie, although zombies can move through the gas, and the last surviving squad wins.
Top 5 Tips :
1. Disable, Disorient and Attack … While zombie, using your abilities is key to combating Operators with ranged weaponry. Activate EMP Blast to destroy nearby equipment. Then throw that gas grenade to disorient them… and try to perform a Finishing Blow; you can even receive a reward for getting at least one right in this mode.
2. Hybrid Power. If squadmates switch to the zombie side, they can still be useful in eliminating enemy squads. For example, they can attack an enemy head-on while human players relax and hit from afar. And humans can also open the Medical Supplies, which have plenty of Syringes for their undead comrades.
3 . Who seeks finds . Eliminating Operators isn’t the only way to get Syringes — open the Supply Crates that those careless humans didn’t bother to check, and remember to look for the red outlines of these crates through walls and coverings.
4. Remember the Infestation. This new mechanic could be a game changer, as a dozen extra Zombies or more could cause chaos. Check the Infestation meter frequently to see when it is nearly full; Then, prepare for a siege with Field Upgrades like Portable Cover and traps like a Proximity Mine.
5. To the winners, the rewards . If you beat Rebirth of the Dead in human form, expect to receive the “Survivor” animated Calling Card. Keep playing and learning from previous attempts to unlock what may be a rarity among all Warzone accounts .
