Shadow of Rome – Complete Walkthrough (Step by Step Guide)

Taking ancient Rome as its setting, Shadow of Rome is an action and stealth game that features various period themes used in different gameplay styles. The plot is set in the days when the death of the great emperor Julius Caesar occurred, which left a vacuum in power and a real political turmoil in the streets of Rome. Poor Agrippa, controlled by the player, returns to the city and discovers who his father is. Vipsanius, is one of the main suspects in the murder. He will be executed by the winner of a soon-to-be gladiator championship. With the help of the clever Octavianus and a former fighter named Claudia, the three must save Vipsanius and find the real culprit. In addition to bringing a very realistic fighting system, Octavius’ conflicts in the arena will be measured by the public’s excitement. It’s worth noting that the game’s visuals are extremely violent, as it doesn’t skimp on injuries and spurts of blood.

TIPS

1. Whenever you are on missions with Octavianus, press L1 to avoid making noise.

4. When you have no weapons in battle, try to steal those from your enemies.
5. At the beginning of each battle, you will be able to choose a weapon. Take the most powerful one.

Prologue

You will face a battle in three different rooms. In the first one, run for a weapon, slash all the enemies and move on to the next room. Now, there will be a guard armed with a bow and arrow. Pick up the shield on the ground to protect yourself from the arrows and eliminate it. Two more enemies will appear. Finish them off and move on to the last room, where you’ll have a little fun: play the executioner and wipe out the race of poor souls who will be unarmed and injured. Eliminate everyone without mercy and, if you want, even destroy the guard. At the end, a very small enemy will appear eager to destroy you. The tactic to kill him is simple: surround him and wait for him to deliver his powerful blow, then attack him with combos and evade his counterattack. Repeat the action until you defeat him.

Chapter 1: The Wickedness of Men

Part 1
Follow the trail with Agrippa and talk to the soldier. Choose the Tell the men its time to mobilize option. Watch the animation. Eliminate all the Germans and watch another animation. With Octavianus, leave the Forum and go to Senate House. Go to the end of the corridor to see another animation. Again with Agrippa, follow the trail eliminating enemies until the red dot on the map (if you want, detonate them quietly by pressing L2, aiming and launching your weapon with /). On the way, there will be some logs that block your passage. Break them with the sword. Watch the animation. Throw your weapon at the enemy’s head who will have a bow and arrow to eliminate him. Go up the stairs and enter the cave. Go through the forest and eliminate the guard to collect the Germanic Tribe Fort Key. Go through the door, follow the maze eliminating the enemies until the animation. The reinforcement of the Roman infantry will help you. Ignore the enemies and run to the red dot on the map. Once there, destroy the prison guard and collect the Fort Prison Key. Free the prisoner and watch the animation. Now, you will face the giant Barca. The tactic to eliminate him is similar to the last enemy you faced in the introduction. Take advantage when he is attacking other soldiers to hit him in the back. If you need it, there will be a box with a chicken inside.

Part 2
After the animation, go to Pansa’s room and read the tutorial! From Octavianus to learn moves from him. Exit through the window and enter the door. Go to the wardrobe and change your clothes and hair. Go to Senate House and talk to the gate guard on the right, answering the questions in the following order:

Follow quietly until a small animation, pass with R1 pressed so the guard doesn’t see you. In this part, stay low, pressing L2, behind the boxes and move on to the next part. Now wait for the guard to turn his back to use the alternative path and go through the door. Take a vase and hit the senator in the head. Take advantage of him being passed out and steal his clothes. Make your way all the way back to the hallway outside and enter the porfie; It trembles. The guard will let you in because you are dressed like a senator (don’t run or make sudden movements to avoid being noticed) Enter through the door after the staircase.
In the next area, grab a vase and get the guard’s attention by pressing [] and X together. Get behind him and make him faint by throwing the vase at his head. Collect the key that was with him and head to the door highlighted on the map in red. Go through the hallway to the end to continue through the next room. Now, quickly enter the library, climb onto the box that will be next to the shelf on the left. Part 3
This part is quick: just watch the animation and eliminate the
guards. Fight Decius (there’s no point in trying to kill him, as he’ll defeat you anyway). Watch the final animation.

Part 4
With Octavius, go to the box next to the gate and make your way – out of reach of the guards – to the door marked in red on the map (in the middle of the path, pick up a rope). Facing the door, on the left, kill the guard to get the Prison Key that is on the table in the corner. In the next room, go left and use the boxes to cross through the hole. The door on the right, through which you must go, will be locked. Go to the next door, take the alternative path to get to the room and go up the stairs. In the third room, wait for the guard to pass and go left. Go past the cells and climb the ladder on the wall. After crossing the passage, watch the animation. You must burn the 4 ropes that hold the bridge to take down the guards. Follow the new path to the animation. With Agrippa, go all the way back, finishing off everyone who appears and protecting Octavius. At the end, watch another animation. Kill some more enemies.

Chapter 2: Baptism By Fire

Part 1
Now, you will be tested to see if you are capable of being a gladiator. Everything will be watched by Sextus, your future boss {that is, if you don’t do anything stupid). First: hit enemies using Charge Attack. Second: destroy enemies using Supra Attack. Third: eliminate the enemy using Grab Enemies. Fourth: Give a glorious presentation to get a Get Attention From The Crowd. Fifth: you will face Claudia, but it won’t be difficult. She will do a combo. Dodge when she’s doing it and hit her. Do this repeatedly and you will win easily. Now, go to City Arena and talk to Sextus (reference: the room in front of the training arena). Ready! You are already trained to exterminate.

With Octavianus, go to the Forum, talk to everyone and go to the Antonius Estate. Enter the door to the left of the house, marked on the map, use the roof of this room to cross and go through the next door without letting the guards see you.

Climb the stairs and use the obstacles to get to the next red dot. Sneak past the two guards and enter the first door on the right. Still without making any noise, go to the room in the upper right corner of the map, make the guy faint and get his robe. Ready! You are now disguised and can move on to the next yellow dot. As you pass through the door, the guard will ask you a question. Answer the first option and proceed. Keep following until the animation.

Battle Tip: This is an elimination battle. You must exterminate enemies throughout the arena. In theory it is very simple but, in practice, it is completely the opposite. It’s an arena full of demented people with grotesque weapons and archers everywhere. Try to eliminate, first, the archers that will be bothering your life. Then take care of the gigantic enemies. Be careful because at some point the weapons will run out and the public will no longer help you with food. When this happens, use the flame trapdoors to roast enemies to death.

DESERT ARENA – Final Round

Tip for the battle: this is the final battle of the Desert Arena. Prepared? There is a very nice person waiting for you and she has an animal with her. Rumor has it that the animal is an imported exotic beast. Are you really prepared? Did you see the size of the animal? Do not panic! Firstly, you should pick up heavy and medium weapons to hit him in the back legs. Be careful, because the enemy that is controlling you will throw Molotov cocktails in your direction and, when the elephant runs away, get out of the way, because if he catches you, your energy will be halved. Then comes Askari, the crazy African who was controlling the elephant. He doesn’t have much energy, but it’s hard to get it out, so be patient. There’s also a trick for you to defeat him the first time: wait for him to release a combo and turn. When he’s dizzy, throw a sword at him. Also be careful, as sometimes it stops and flies towards you. As soon as this happens, run around the arena and throw blows. After a few minutes of cold sweating, you’ll get it. Watch an animation.

Chapter 4: Restoration to Glory

Part 1
With Octavianus, head to the Antonius Estate. Take an apple from the tent, but this time throw it at the horse next to the gate. Pick up the armor from the dead soldier and go inside. Follow the extreme right, and, before the stairs, there will be a door on the right. Come in and watch the animation. Go down, talk to the guard and answer > What?What about tigers? Climb up again, lean against the wall and go around the ledge, passing into another room. There will be two guards
that you will have to eliminate. To defeat the first one, just collect a vase in the room and attack him from behind, in the hallway. With the second, get another vase, get the guard’s attention and, when he’s coming back, attack him and get the Gold Fortune Key. Proceed to the red point indicated on the map. The scheme to pass this part is simple: take a vase of honey (the yellow one, on the table in front, on the right), go with it, hidden, behind the first guard who has his back turned, in the first room on the left, and hit your head. The rest of the guards will come running and they will all roll over and fall unconscious to the ground. Once that’s done, take any vase, sneak it towards the door guardian, wait for him to talk to you and turn your back to break the vase over his head. Collect the Gold Fortune Key and enter the door. Watch an animation. Now, scare the girl away with the mouse and use the rope to eliminate the first guard that keeps walking around. After, . strangle the guard who has the key you are looking for.

Go back through the large gate in the hallway where you collected the items and head to the red dot on the map. Enter the green door and watch the animation. The key you will need to collect in this room will be inside a cage, in the upper left corner. The place is full of white tigers (they can only see in the dark). Follow, leaning against the wall, to the left. When passing by the tables with fruit, collect the torch on the floor and light the two fixed torches on the left of the room. Go to the cage (there will be a tiger right in front), use [] to scare it away. Break the fruit stand, collect the key, and return to the hallway to use the key on the brown door. We advise that you first eliminate all enemies and, if possible, do not fight near the cages, as the blows aimed at you can hit her, even if she is inside the cage. The keys will also be with the enemies, so there’s no point running away, as you’ll need to defeat them anyway.

Tip for the battle: it is a battle of hunter and hunter. It is a place surrounded by animals, such as elephants, lions, leopards, vultures and the like. This game really is cruel! There aren’t many details for this battle, just face your fear and put on a show against these beasts! The only thing
we can talk about is a killing tactic that is shoot and take down. First, keep your focus on the tigers and leopards, remembering to never do more than two combos because you’ll get countered. Then, kill the vultures, two tigers and four more vultures (always paying attention to the elephant’s attacks). Finally, when there are no more animals trying to hinder you, just attack the giant African elephant and that’s it.

Tip for the battle: elimination battle. There will be four rooms full of enemies waiting for you. You will only be able to proceed to the next room after eliminating all opponents in the one you are in. In the first room, there will be many strong enemies, but also a press to crush them. In the second, there will be two huge pairs of spinning spears (traps). If you hide under a door, many enemies will die alone. Just be careful with the archers. In the third, most of the enemies are archers and the room will be covered in bushes, which will make it difficult to see. Don’t stop running to avoid being hit by the arrows, also be careful as the last enemy is very strong. The fourth room, which we expected to be the most difficult, is the easiest. There will only be two female enemies and then one normal soldier. Be careful with the center of the room, as the floor will be filled with lava.

In the first part of the arena, initially with the catapult, kill the archers at the edge of the wall, then eliminate all the enemies that come out of the side gates. Then, take the catapult again and blow up the gate. Go through and be careful, as there will be opponents with spears. Eliminate all the enemies on the ground and then try to pick up a bow and arrows to hit, or at least weaken, the enemies on the ramp and at the top. First press [] and Agrippa will attack you with his shield, then launch a sword combo. You will also be able to attack him when his back is turned. Be careful with your combos. He is a little difficult to exterminate; you must be patient. When Decius’ energy is half full, watch an animation. Ready! Now, you can put an end to this. The second part with Decius is no big deal. -Continue the same pattern, but be careful with its claws – which are now more powerful. Wait for him to run, then dodge his attack and stab him in the back. But don’t think it ends there. The worst is yet to come. After defeating Decius, watch an animation and prepare to face Antonius.
