May 17, 2024Guides and tips
#1. Best Weapons for Beginners
Solo Leveling: ARISE features numerous weapons that Sung Jin-Woo and other Hunters can utilize throughout the game. Here are some recommended SR weapons for beginners based on criteria such as speed, range, basic attack distance, and weapon skill.
- Sphere of Avarice: Excellent hit range and distance for basic attacks and weapon kills;
- Black Hawk: Fast base attack speed and elegant action;
- Radiru Family Long Bow: Increases the chance of long-distance survival;
- Guardian Naga Dragon Trident: Brilliant hit possibility and wave-driven effects;
- Stone Golem’s Hammer: Fast, powerful weapon skills and a unique weight for a melee weapon.
#two. Recommended Hunter for Each Battle
Players have to challenge multiple Gates when taking on the role of Sung Jin-Woo in Solo Leveling: ARISE , and the difficulty level of conquering a dungeon can vary depending on which Hunter the player chooses.
Recovering HP is crucial when traversing dungeons full of danger. A healer with AOE (Area of Effect) recovery skills would be very useful for allies.
1. Lee Joo-Hee: Wave of Healing
- Joo-Hee uses the power of healing to recover allies’ HP and mana while attacking the enemy;
- Key Effect: Joo-Hee recovers the HP of allies with Circle of Divine by the same amount as her maximum HP.
If players encounter monsters that are blocking the path in the dungeon, a Hunter with AOE attacks can be useful in opening it.
2. Anna Ruiz: Poison Rain
- Anna distances herself from the enemy and fires corrosive poison arrows, which create a [Poison Zone].
- Key Effect: The last shot fired by Anna creates a [Poison Zone].
Players can also mitigate damage with a Hunter who can be a strong shield for other Hunters at the forefront of the attack.
3. Kim Chul: Shield Faction
- Chul creates a circle of shields around himself while protecting his allies.
- Key Effect: Shield Zone – Within the zone, damage taken is reduced by 30%, and applies a [Shield] equal to 25% of Defense to allies.
#3. The importance of the “Break” skill and how to use it
While exploring the dungeon, players may encounter some bosses equipped with shields. These shields are known as “Shield Gauges” and often extend the total time in battle. In order to effectively decrease this time, it is important to apply a “Break” effect to your skill sets.
The Break skill consists of 3 Intensity Levels – Light, Medium and Heavy. Higher levels can cause more Shield Gauge damage. When the meter is completely depleted, the boss will be stunned and players can inflict greater damage. It’s a perfect opportunity to focus all the firepower on the boss.
Nam Chae-Young and Hwang Dungsuk are Hunters who have consistently and effectively used the Break effect. Don’t miss other characters who can also use this effect and use it at the right time and place.
#4. Equipment Recycling Tips to Increase Combat Power
As players embark on their journey to become the Shadow Monarch, they will encounter countless Hunters, weapons, and artifacts. The materials and equipment obtained must be effectively used to help players evolve.
Spare weapons can be “saved” and converted into special materials.
Weapon Enhancement Equipment are materials often used to level up weapons. When players save higher-tier weapons, they can receive the red designs that are designed to create exclusive weapons for Hunters.
‘Traces of Dimensions’ and ‘Mold Imbued with Mana Power’ can be exchanged for other materials in [Shop] > [Exchange Shop] > [Weapon Materials Exchange]. The exchanged materials can be used to manufacture or improve equipment.
Spare artifacts can be sold for Gold. It is important to select good artifacts for Hunters, but players are also encouraged to sell unnecessary artifacts, earn Gold and use it to develop further.
#5. Maximizing Specialized Hunter Stats
Each Hunter has specialized stats: Attack, Defense, and HP.
For example, Kim Chul’s Defense Stats significantly affect his Skills and Basic Attacks, while Anna Ruiz and Lee Joo-Hee specialize in Attack, Defense, or HP.
Hunters’ specialized stats can be further enhanced by using the appropriate artifacts and weapons.
Among artifact effects, the increase in Defense is particularly beneficial for Hunters whose Skills and Basic Attacks are impacted by Defense Stats. If players obtain an artifact with multiple effects, they must equip the artifact to the Hunter with the appropriate stats.
There are also elements in weapons that improve Hunters’ specialized stats. Players can improve stats by leveling up weapons and increase Hunters’ combat power by creating their unique weapons.
Facing the stage boss
Solo Leveling: ARISE players will experience memorable scenes from the original series. As players take on the role of Jin-Woo, they will encounter their first major obstacle when they reach Chapter 6.
#1. Hunter and villain, Kang Tae-Shik
The boss of Chapter 6 is Kang Tae-Shik, a member of the Hunters Association and a crazy killer-type hunter who takes pleasure in killing.
In the original series, Kang Tae-Shik despises Sung Jin-Woo. Faithfully adapted in Solo Leveling: ARISE, he will provide players with many challenges as one of the game’s main villains.
Although Kang Tae-Shik is a Rank B Hunter, his fighting skills are comparable to those of Rank A Hunters. He is the Stage Boss who displays various patterns of actions that are difficult for players to overcome.
Here are several tips to defeat Kang Tae-Shik:
Kang Tae-Shik uses two daggers to perform precise and quick attacks. When using his ability, there is a flash effect with a brief cooldown movement. Special attention is needed for the skill that involves throwing a dagger for a ranged attack and executing a surprise attack from behind.
Kang Tae-Shik’s battle phase consists of two stages.
- Phase 1: When Kang Tae-Shik’s HP is 70% or more, Hyper Armor is applied.
- Repel and aerial attacks are ineffective when Hyper Armor is activated. These enemies are immune to disability status effects.
- Repel and aerial attacks are ineffective when Hyper Armor is activated. These enemies are immune to disability status effects.
- Phase 2: When Kang Tae-Shik’s HP is less than 70%, Accumulated Berserk is applied and Camouflage Skill is used.
- When an enemy is in the Accumulated Berserk state, attack power is increased by a percentage for a set period of time. The maximum stack is applied to the attack.
When Kang Tae-Shik uses his Camouflage Skill during this Phase, players can activate ‘Extreme Evasion’ at the right time to have the chance for a counterattack. Players should keep the following in mind:
- When Kang Tae-Shik uses the Camouflage Skill, players must move in a wide range to avoid Kang Tae-Shik’s skill.
- About 1 second after Kang Tae-Shik disappears, players must tap Dash to activate Extreme Evasion.
After using Camouflage, Kang Tae-Shik’s abilities and attacks will be strengthened due to Accumulated Berserk. An evil black smoke surrounds Kang Taeshik during his berserk state. It is recommended that players use Sprint effectively to receive the minimum amount of damage from Kang Tae-Shik.
#two. Igris the Scarlet
When players reach Chapter 10 of Story Mode, they will encounter a powerful enemy greater than Kang Tae-Shik. Players will encounter ‘Igris the Scarlet’ – the Knight Commander, who later becomes Sung Jin-Woo’s shadow soldier and serves as his right hand.
Igris employs a diverse array of powerful abilities that surpass those of any enemy encountered in the game up to that point.
Igris has two abilities, Super Armor and Exclusive Barrier:
- Super Armor: A protective shield that makes you immune to attacks such as knockback or aerial effects
- Exclusive Barrier: A blue aura barrier reducing attack damage. The barrier constantly regenerates.
The battle of Igris consists of two phases. When Igris’s HP drops below 50%, the battle transitions to Phase 2. During this phase, Igris erects a unique barrier and unleashes more powerful attacks against the Hunters.
He is formidable in both attack and defense. It is recommended that players use the ‘Break’ effect strategy employing Hunters and weapons. Here is an example:
- Freezing Scimitar and Grimoire of Tetis are weapons that induce a brief pause in Igris’ movements.
- He will apply a Break effect depending on the Shield Gauge he has. Players can configure Hunters and skills to effectively target the Igris meter. Look for Hunters that have the Break effect, or use Sung Jin-Woo’s skills that also have it.
By defeating Igris the Scarlet, players can take their first step as the Shadow Monarch – and there’s plenty of future content and stories to enjoy.
