The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Complete Walkthrough (Step-by-Step Strategy Guide)
December 5, 2024Prologue
Mysterious Dungeon
To tackle the Mysterious Dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll first take control of Link, who’s already equipped with an array of powerful gear and boasts a full 20 hearts of health. This setup should give you plenty of confidence to explore the area without too much concern, but it’s still essential to stay vigilant. As you begin your adventure, head straight through the first hallway, swinging your sword at the overgrown bushes scattered around. This is a great way to get a feel for the controls and make sure you’re comfortable with Link’s swordplay. Keep moving forward until you find the lift that will take you up to the next floor.
Once you step off the lift, this will be your chance to test out Link’s jumping abilities. By pressing the B button, you can leap over obstacles with ease. Follow the hallway to the right, jumping over a crumbled column that blocks your way. Continue to make your way up the stairs until you’re confronted by a couple of Darknuts. These hulking enemies may look intimidating, but their slow movements give you ample time to plan your strategy. When one of them raises its massive axe, simply press down on the left trigger (ZL) to raise your shield and block their strikes. As soon as they leave an opening, press the Y button to swing your sword and take them down.
After dispatching these two enemies, continue onward until you reach the next door. You’ll enter a room where three Darknuts await, all advancing on you at once. Don’t get overwhelmed! This is a perfect opportunity to use Link’s other tools. Toss a bomb into their midst by pressing the A button and watch as it explodes, sending the enemies flying. If some of them survive, use your bow by pressing the X button to shoot arrows at them from a distance. A single well-placed bomb is usually enough to wipe out the group, but if any remain, use your sword to finish them off before moving forward.
The next room presents a new challenge with a swarm of flying enemies known as Keese. These pesky bats will dive at you from the air, so your best bet is to lock onto them by holding down the ZL button, which will also bring up your shield. This way, any Keese that try to hit you will bounce harmlessly off, giving you a chance to slash at them with your sword or take them out from afar with a couple of quick arrows. As you progress through the ruins, you’ll find more Keese and some broken ledges to leap over. Keep your focus, aim carefully, and don’t forget to target the bats before attacking.
You’ll then come across a room with two more Keese. Clear them out quickly, because the next challenge is a real test of your skills. Three more Darknuts will appear, but this time, one is much tougher than the others. Take your time here—use your arrows and bombs to weaken the stronger one from a safe distance. Remember, these enemies move slowly, so keep your shield up with ZL and be patient. When you see an opening, move in for a few quick sword strikes, and then back off again. By slowly whittling them down, you’ll emerge victorious without taking too much damage.
Once you’ve defeated these Darknuts, you’re almost at the end of this dungeon. But don’t rush! If your health has taken a hit during the previous encounters, take a moment to break open the nearby boxes. You’ll often find hearts inside that can help you restore your health before the final showdown. Make sure you’re fully healed and ready, because up ahead lies the boss’s lair. Are you prepared to face whatever’s waiting for you? With your sword, shield, bombs, and arrows at the ready, step through the door and show the final boss that you’re more than a match for any challenge it throws your way!
Ganon (Fight)
Facing off against the Demon King Ganon is no small feat, but this iconic clash between good and evil is what defines every hero’s journey. From the moment you step into the darkened chamber, you can feel the weight of the battle ahead. Princess Zelda is trapped, and it’s up to you to overcome the terrifying power of Ganon to free her. The Demon King wastes no time and starts by vanishing from sight, only to reappear somewhere nearby. When he does, pay close attention to his posture. He’ll grip his massive spear tightly and then, in the blink of an eye, lunge straight at you. The reach of this attack is deceptively long and hits with a force that can strip away three of your hearts in a single blow. Your best strategy is to move immediately above or below his position as soon as he materializes. Timing is everything—one wrong move, and you’ll be sent reeling from the sheer impact of his strike.
Once you’ve dodged his spear, it’s time to go on the offensive. Close the gap quickly and unleash a flurry of sword strikes directly at his head. You’ll need to land about 4 to 5 solid hits to push Ganon into his next phase. As you attack, you’ll notice his movements becoming more erratic. After sustaining enough damage, he’ll let out a deafening roar that reverberates through the entire room, signaling that he’s about to change tactics. He’ll teleport away again, but this time, when he reappears, he’ll hold a glowing orb of energy in his hand. This isn’t just any ordinary attack; it’s a test of your reflexes and timing. Ganon will hurl the orb directly at you, and while it can be blocked with your shield, there’s a better way to handle it. Raise your sword and hit the orb back towards him. This back-and-forth exchange will feel almost like a game of tennis, with each successful deflection making the orb travel faster. You’ll need to rally it back at least twice for the orb to strike Ganon and leave him momentarily stunned. When you see him stagger, that’s your cue! Rush forward and unleash a powerful combo with your sword, or, if you prefer a ranged approach, switch to your bow and pepper him with arrows. Be quick, though—if you hesitate, he’ll recover and teleport away, ready to resume his relentless assault.
As the battle progresses and you’ve landed around 10 hits, Ganon will roar again, his frustration growing evident. The final phase begins, and the stakes are raised even higher. Now, Ganon will alternate between his spear lunges and the orb attack, but there’s a catch: the next time he throws the orb, you’ll need to rally it back not just twice, but three times before he’s stunned. The pace of these rallies will increase dramatically, so maintaining some distance to give yourself time to react is crucial. Don’t get too far, though, or you’ll lose the opportunity to counterattack when he’s stunned. Once you’ve mastered this final rally and landed another series of strikes, Ganon will at last begin to falter. Keep up the pressure, striking him down with every ounce of strength you’ve got. After about 10 more hits, you’ll finally see him stagger back, his form breaking apart under the weight of your attacks. As he collapses, the entire room seems to shake, and for a moment, it appears as if the Demon King is no more. You’ve done it! Princess Zelda is safe—right?
But just as you start to lower your guard, a dark rift opens where Ganon’s spear fell. Tendrils of shadow snake out and ensnare Link, dragging him down into an abyss. Ganon’s last act of defiance shatters the crystal prison that holds Zelda, leaving only a tiny crack. With one final, sinister laugh, he vanishes into the darkness, taking Link with him. The room is silent. Link is gone, leaving Zelda alone to face the encroaching darkness. Now, it’s up to you to take control of the princess herself. You may be weaponless and only have three hearts, but that won’t stop you from trying to save Link. Wiggle the control stick back and forth to break the remaining fragments of the crystal, freeing Zelda completely.
Once you’re on your feet, you’ll notice a small yellow wisp hovering nearby. Follow it—it’s the only guidance you have in this rapidly disintegrating space. As Zelda, you’re not as strong or agile as Link, but you can still jump. Move quickly, dodging the chunks of rubble that start to fall from above. You’ll have to leap over low obstacles and stay on the move as the eerie rift behind you begins to expand, threatening to swallow everything in its path. Don’t hesitate; any pause could spell disaster as the ground itself crumbles beneath your feet. Sprint forward, following the wisp as it leads you to a discarded cloak on the ground. Pick it up—it’s the Swordsman’s Cloak, an item that may yet hold some protective power. As you don it, a sense of courage fills you, but there’s no time to ponder. The rift is closing in fast.
With the cloak wrapped around your shoulders, continue to race through the collapsing ruins. You’ll need to jump across several broken platforms and dodge more falling debris. Keep your movements precise, and don’t let the expanding darkness catch up to you. Your goal is to escape the dungeon before it’s too late. The path is treacherous, but if you maintain your focus and keep up the pace, you’ll finally see the entrance of the dungeon in sight. With one last desperate leap, you’ll escape just as the entire structure collapses into the void behind you.
As Zelda lands safely outside, she glances back at the ruins now consumed by the abyss. Link’s adventure might have ended for now, but for Princess Zelda, this is only the beginning of a new journey. With no weapons and only a fragile sense of hope, she must now embark on a quest of her own to save Link and restore balance to the land. It’s time for the princess to take up the mantle of heroism and face whatever trials await her in the next chapter of this unfolding saga.
Hyrule Castle
When you return to Hyrule Castle Town as Zelda, the atmosphere immediately feels different. The residents, clearly relieved to see her safe, greet her warmly after the week she’s been missing. As you stroll through the town, take a moment to appreciate the little details—the joy on people’s faces, the welcoming voices calling out to her. It’s a rare respite in a world where darkness looms around every corner. You’ll have the chance to engage in short conversations with the townsfolk, getting hints and snippets of information about how the kingdom has been holding up. Most of the homes can be entered freely, and you’re encouraged to explore. However, one house, unfortunately, has been partially swallowed by a strange rift—an ominous reminder that all is not well in Hyrule. Once you’ve satisfied your curiosity, take the advice of a nearby soldier and make your way to the grand castle gates.
Upon entering the castle, ascend the large staircase ahead and make your way into the expansive main hall. There, you’ll be greeted by Impa, Zelda’s loyal caretaker. If you wish to explore a bit more, you can duck into a side hallway that leads to Zelda’s own room. It’s a beautiful chamber, adorned with elegant furnishings and a stylish bed that seems almost out of place amidst all the turmoil. Once you’re done reminiscing, head back to the main hall where Impa will guide you to the throne room to meet your father, the King of Hyrule.
The King is accompanied by his most trusted advisors, General Wright and Minister Lefte. Their faces light up with joy and relief upon seeing Zelda. They’ll ask about her daring escape and especially about the mysterious swordsman who came to her aid. The conversation then turns serious as they discuss the growing threat of the rifts—portals of dark energy that have been appearing all across Hyrule. What started as small, isolated incidents of children being kidnapped has now escalated into a kingdom-wide crisis. The King and his advisors are gravely concerned, and the tension in the room is palpable. Just as it seems like a plan is beginning to form, the throne room is suddenly enveloped in darkness. A massive rift opens beneath the King’s feet, swallowing him and his advisors whole. The very air seems to vibrate with dark energy as twisted, shadowy versions of the King and his council emerge from the rift, their voices distorted and their eyes glowing with malevolent intent.
Without warning, they accuse Zelda of causing the rifts, framing her as the true villain in the eyes of the castle’s guards. The soldiers, though hesitant, have no choice but to follow the orders of the false King. You watch helplessly as Zelda is overpowered and thrown into a cell deep within the castle’s dungeons, her pleas for reason falling on deaf ears.
The cold, damp cell is a stark contrast to the grandeur of the throne room. As Zelda contemplates her fate, a familiar wisp of light flits into view—it’s Tri, the same wisp that helped you earlier in the ruins. Tri introduces itself more formally this time, explaining that it, too, was a prisoner of Ganon’s dark magic and has been trying to find a way to close the rifts. Tri knows that Zelda is innocent and offers to help her escape.
Using its magic, Tri creates a new item for Zelda called the Tri Rod. This powerful tool allows Zelda to create “Echoes” of certain objects in the world, effectively making copies of them that can be manipulated at will. You’ll notice that some items in the environment now have a soft golden shimmer. These are objects that can be “learned” by pressing the ZR button to absorb their Echo. Start by learning the Table Echo from the small table in your cell. Summoning the Table Echo by pressing Y will create a temporary platform, which can be used to reach higher ledges. However, there’s a catch—each Echo costs a certain amount of magic to summon, represented by the number of triangles above Tri’s icon. You can only have as many Echoes active as there are triangles in Tri’s tail, so use them wisely!
To test it out, create a Table Echo next to the bench in your cell, then stack a second Table Echo below the crumbled wall to form a makeshift staircase. Jump up and into the next cell, where the door is conveniently open. With your newfound freedom, you must tread carefully. Guards are patrolling the dungeon’s corridors, and getting caught will mean being thrown right back into your cell.
Avoid the guards by taking the left passage from your cell. You’ll find yourself in a large storage area filled with towering shelves and patrolling guards. This is where the true test of stealth begins. The first guard is standing directly in your path, blocking any straightforward route. Instead, look for the shelves behind him. Use the Tri Rod to stack two Table Echoes against the shelves, then place a third one to create a stairway. Climb up and drop down quietly on the other side. As you move forward, you’ll encounter more guards, but you’ll also discover a new object to learn—interact with a set of crates to gain the Wooden Box Echo.
The Wooden Box Echo has some distinct advantages over the Table Echo. It’s taller and sturdier, allowing you to reach greater heights, and can also be pushed along the floor or picked up and thrown to distract guards. Further ahead, you’ll come across two guards patrolling around a square of shelving. There’s no way to sneak past them without drawing their attention, but you can use the Wooden Box to your advantage. Create a Wooden Box near the bottom right corner of the shelving to block the guards’ patrol route, then quickly slip past them before they figure out what’s going on.
Next, you’ll face a set of storage shelves too high to reach with the Table Echo alone. Fortunately, the guards above aren’t paying much attention, and you’ll overhear them talking about a commotion caused by General Wright. This is a hint! Look around and you’ll find a ladder nearby. Climb to the top of the shelves and sneak past another guard who’s peering down below. To the left, you’ll find a group of Hyrule Castle Pots that you can learn an Echo for. Once you’ve gained the Pot Echo, test the guard’s theory by picking one up and throwing it off the right side of the shelf. The guard will immediately rush off to investigate the noise, leaving his post unguarded. Use this chance to drop back down to the floor and continue to the right.
In the final section of the storage area, a guard stands watch over the only exit, covering both sides of the shelving with his line of sight. Use the Pot Echo to create a decoy—toss it in one direction and slip past while he’s distracted. Repeat this tactic with another guard near the far door, and make a mad dash for the exit.
You’ll enter a quiet room where Impa is waiting for you. Despite everything that’s happened, she still believes in Zelda’s innocence. For some reason, though, Impa can’t see or hear Tri, but that doesn’t deter her support. She hands Zelda the Swordsman’s Cloak, an item that allows her to create a disguise, making it easier to evade the guards. Just as Zelda is about to make her escape, a squad of soldiers bursts in, cutting off your route. Impa steps in and fends them off, giving you just enough time to flee. Before you go, she also gives you a Log that serves as a Quest Journal and Map. Your next quest is to head south, to a small house where someone might be able to help you.
With Impa staying behind to hold off the guards, Zelda’s true escape begins. Use the tools and tactics you’ve learned so far to slip past the remaining guards and make your way out of the castle’s depths. Your journey is just beginning, and it’s up to you to close the rifts and clear Zelda’s name!
Royal-Family Shortcut
You’ll be navigating through the upper floor storage room, a quieter area where, thankfully, no guards are present. Even though you’re safe from immediate danger, you’ll still need to keep your wits about you as you solve a series of platforming puzzles to make your way out. Start by heading to the bottom right corner of the room, where you’ll find a set of large Decorative Shrubs. These plants might seem ordinary at first, but if you interact with them, you’ll be able to learn their Echo. The Shrub Echoes can be summoned to create tall pillar-like platforms, making them perfect for bridging gaps that would otherwise be impassable.
Once you’ve got the Shrub Echo, climb up the nearby ladder to the left and observe the area. There’s already a line of shrubs in place, forming a rudimentary bridge that you can cross. Use this existing pathway to familiarize yourself with the height and spacing of the Shrub platforms, then look for a gap in the row of shrubs. This is your chance to put the Shrub Echo to good use! Summon a new Shrub platform by pressing Y and place it strategically to fill in the gap, creating a continuous bridge that will allow you to reach the far storage shelves safely. Cross over the newly formed path and proceed to the final section of this area.
Now, as you approach the last part of the storage room, you’ll see a set of towering shelves in the far corner. Unfortunately, even the Shrub Echo won’t be enough to get you all the way up there. But don’t worry—explore a bit further, and you’ll come across an Old Bed that you can also learn an Echo from. This Old Bed Echo is incredibly versatile. Not only can it serve as a healing station to restore Zelda’s health when interacted with, but it can also be used as a long, flat platform that’s perfect for creating makeshift bridges or staircases.
With the Old Bed Echo now in your possession, go back to the ladder you used earlier. Start by creating an Old Bed Echo on the first shelf, making it extend outwards over the gap. Next, move across to the second shelf and place another Old Bed Echo at the very edge of the first one. From there, continue stacking the Old Beds in a stair-like formation until you’ve constructed a pathway leading all the way up to the high shelving where the exit is. This clever use of the Old Bed Echo will let you reach new heights and access the door that takes you outside to a garden area.
Once you’ve stepped into the open air of the castle gardens, you’re almost free of the castle’s confines. The garden is filled with thick bushes and patches of grass that you can cut down with a quick Spin Attack using the R button. Although this spin won’t work on enemies, it’s an excellent way to clear a path and collect some hidden Rupees. Gather as many Rupees as you like, then look towards the far end of the garden, where you’ll notice an old well. Make your way over and jump down into it, initiating the next phase of your escape.
Inside the well, the game switches to a side-scrolling view, a nod to classic Zelda dungeons of old. Zelda can now swim through the water and navigate the tight corridors of this underground labyrinth. As you dive in, keep an eye on the blue wheel that appears, representing your breath meter. Make sure to resurface before the meter runs out, or you’ll start losing hearts rapidly. There are a few pockets of air here and there, so time your dives carefully. While underwater, you can collect a handful of Rupees hidden in the corners before swimming back up and hopping along the path.
You’ll soon come to a high ledge that’s out of reach. This is the perfect opportunity to use the Old Bed Echo once more! Place a bed platform down to create a makeshift step that lets you climb up to the next area. As you move forward, you’ll descend a ladder and come face-to-face with a large Boulder that you can save as an Echo. Unlike the other Echoes you’ve learned so far, the Boulder Echo is heavy and dense. When you push a summoned Boulder into water, it will sink straight to the bottom, unlike the Wooden Box Echo you’ll discover up ahead.
Continue exploring, and you’ll encounter a small pond where a Wooden Box floats at the surface like a makeshift raft. Step onto the Wooden Box and start creating a line of them to cross the pond, hopping from one to the next. This clever use of floating platforms will help you reach the far edge of the water without getting submerged. Once on solid ground, keep moving until you come to a row of Wooden Boxes blocking a narrow passage below. You’ll need to get rid of these obstacles, and this is where the Boulder Echo comes into play again. Place a Boulder Echo on one of the Wooden Boxes, and watch as the weight of the Boulder causes it to sink down. This will create a gap big enough for you to swim through.
After swimming through the opening you’ve created, you’ll arrive at the entrance to the Royal-Family Shortcut waterways. It might seem like a quiet and safe place, but don’t get too comfortable just yet. As soon as you get close to the exit, a massive Rift will begin spreading from a nearby door, rapidly blocking off your escape route. With the darkness closing in, you have no choice but to jump into the underground river that winds through the castle’s foundations. The rushing waters will sweep you away, carrying you far from the castle and out of harm’s reach—for now.
As Zelda is swept along, the scenery changes drastically. The currents push you through winding tunnels, carrying you farther and farther from Hyrule Castle. When you finally wash ashore at a distant and unfamiliar location, you’ll find yourself alone with Tri, the faithful wisp of light that has accompanied you throughout this perilous journey. Though the immediate threat has passed, the spreading rifts and the false King’s accusations still hang over your head. Zelda’s escape might be complete, but her quest to close the rifts and clear her name has only just begun. Now, it’s time to set out and discover what truly lies behind these mysterious portals of darkness, and find a way to restore peace to Hyrule once more!
The Mysterious Rifts
After Zelda’s escape from the dungeons beneath Hyrule Castle during the prologue of Echoes of Wisdom, she’s now on a journey with Tri to uncover the source of the Mysterious Rifts and put an end to their chaotic spread throughout Hyrule. After being swept away by an underground waterway, Zelda regains consciousness in a small cave, not far from a location marked on her map by Impa. As she gets up and dusts herself off, it’s clear that she’s now much closer to her next destination, but she’s still empty-handed, with no real weapons to defend herself.
Suthorn Beach
Start by taking a look around the cave, and you’ll notice a small Rock glinting in the dim light to your right. Approach it and learn the Rock Echo. This Echo is much smaller and lighter than the Boulder Echo you may have encountered earlier, but it’s perfect for Zelda’s current situation. The Rock Echo allows you to summon small rocks that can be picked up and thrown at enemies—ideal for keeping threats at bay until Zelda finds something stronger. Armed with this new ability, you’re ready to venture outside and see where you’ve ended up.
As Zelda steps out into the open, she’s greeted by the sight of a vast, sandy shore—Suthorn Beach. The gentle sound of waves crashing against the rocks is soothing, but you can’t let your guard down. Check your map, and you’ll see that much of the beach area has already been filled in, and the marker showing your destination isn’t far from here. Start by moving around the beach, taking in the surroundings, when suddenly a small, gelatinous creature called a Zol pops up out of the sand. With no sword or bow in sight, Zelda will have to get creative to deal with this gooey little enemy. Luckily, the Rock Echo will prove useful here. Summon a rock, pick it up, and hurl it at the Zol to inflict damage. If you need a bit more range, look for Wooden Boxes scattered around the beach—these can also be picked up and thrown for a makeshift attack.
Once you’ve defeated the Zol, it will leave behind a miniature, sparkling version of itself floating in the air. Approach it and press the ZR button to learn a new type of Echo—the Monster Echo for Zol. With this newfound power, Zelda can summon up to three Zols to fight alongside her, and you can even target specific enemies by pressing the ZL button. The Zols might not be very strong, but they’re excellent at swarming smaller enemies, making it easier for Zelda to handle multiple threats at once.
Continue exploring this part of the beach and be sure to check the waters along the shoreline. Dive down into the shallow areas, but be careful of the Sea Urchins scattered around. These spiky creatures won’t actively chase you, but their sharp spines will damage anything that comes into contact with them, including Zelda or even your newly acquired Zols. However, if you’re able to maneuver around them, you can collect some hidden Green and Blue Rupees nestled between them. If the Sea Urchins are blocking your path and you need to clear a way forward, use the Rock Echo to throw rocks at them from a safe distance. Once hit, the Sea Urchins will burst apart, clearing the way. As a bonus, approach the remains of a defeated Sea Urchin to learn its Echo as well. While Sea Urchins can’t move on their own, their Echo makes an excellent defensive tool, creating a spiky barrier that damages any enemy that touches it.
After dealing with the Sea Urchins, look above where they were and you’ll notice a Treasure Chest perched on a high ledge to the left. To reach it, you’ll need to put Zelda’s platforming skills to good use. Start by summoning a small platform to reach the lower ledge on the left side. Then, place a Table Echo at the corner, and summon a Decorative Shrub Echo just to the right of the Table. These two Echoes together will create a step-like formation that allows Zelda to jump up and grab the chest. Inside, you’ll find 20 Rupees—a nice reward for your efforts!
Now that you’ve cleared the left side of the beach, it’s time to head further to the right. As you progress, you’ll come across a high rocky platform on the far right side with another cave entrance visible at the top, though it’s currently out of reach. Don’t worry—you’ll be able to get there soon enough. Start by diving down again into the waters below. Look carefully, and you’ll spot another Blue Rupee between some Sea Urchins on both the left and right sides of a small rock island. Swim carefully around the spines, then resurface and hop onto the lower rock island.
Once you’re on dry land, you’ll notice a Piece of Heart on a ledge to the left, tantalizingly close but just out of reach. To grab it, you’ll need to create a bridge. Summon two Old Bed Echoes and place them across the water, forming a path that Zelda can jump across. Once you’ve collected the Heart Piece, you’ll be one step closer to increasing your maximum health. Remember that collecting four Pieces of Heart will grant Zelda a new Heart Container, making her much more resilient in battle.
With the Heart Piece in hand, it’s time to figure out how to reach the high cave on the right. Go back to the first rock island and use the Old Bed Echo again, this time creating a stairway that leads up to the second island. From there, keep summoning Old Bed platforms to cross the broken bridge until you reach the rocky ledges in front of the cave. The entrance is now in sight, but there’s one last obstacle—a horde of Sea Urchins clustered around the cave’s mouth. Approach cautiously and use the Rock Echo to clear them out one by one. With the path finally open, Zelda can enter the cave and continue her quest to discover what’s causing the rifts and how to stop them.
Inside, the air is cool and damp, and the cave echoes with distant drips of water. Who knows what dangers or secrets await deeper within? But with her growing arsenal of Echoes and Tri’s guidance, Zelda is ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. Keep moving forward, and remember to stay alert—each step brings you closer to unraveling the mystery of the rifts and saving Hyrule from the darkness that threatens to consume it!
Beach Cave
As you enter the Beach Cave, the atmosphere shifts immediately. It’s dark, with only a few scattered beams of light breaking through cracks in the rocks above. Begin by heading down the ladders in front of you, but stay alert. The moment you start descending, you’ll encounter a flying enemy known as a Keese. These bat-like creatures tend to swoop down from above, making them tricky to deal with at close range. However, there’s a simple yet effective strategy to handle them. Summon a Sea Urchin Echo directly in front of you, and then just wait. As the Keese dive toward you, they’ll collide with the Sea Urchin’s sharp spines and take themselves out. Once they’re defeated, don’t forget to pick up the Keese Echo. This unique Echo will come in handy later, as it allows Zelda to pick up a Keese and glide off ledges, giving her a way to safely traverse gaps or reach lower levels without taking damage.
Continue navigating through the cave until you reach an area with a tall, climbable wall in the background. Before scaling it, take a moment to examine the ground level. There’s a Piece of Heart hidden under a stack of boxes at the bottom, but it’s not immediately accessible. To reach it, first climb up the wall to the ledge on your left. From there, you can start creating Boulder Echoes and dropping them down onto the boxes below. The Boulders will smash through the crates one by one. If a Boulder ends up in the wrong position, don’t worry—hold down ZR to erase it and create a new one. After clearing out the boxes, drop down to the bottom and grab the Piece of Heart. With another Piece of Heart collected, you’re now closer to increasing Zelda’s overall health.
After navigating through the rest of the Beach Cave, you’ll find yourself emerging into a small field bathed in sunlight. This area serves as the transition between the beach and the small settlement up ahead—Suthorn Village.
Suthorn Village
As you start down the gentle slope leading to the village, keep an eye on your right-hand side. There’s a narrow ledge that looks a bit out of place. Head towards it and use the Table Echo and Wooden Box Echo to create platforms and climb up to the ledge. At the top, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing a hefty 50 Rupees—a great reward for those willing to take a slight detour.
Continue along the path until you reach the entrance of Suthorn Village. It’s a quaint little place, full of charm and a sense of peace, despite the underlying worries of its residents. The first thing you’ll notice is how lively it is, with villagers milling about, each one eager to talk. Speak to them, and you’ll get a good sense of the troubles plaguing the area. They’ll tell you that strange occurrences have been happening in the nearby forest, and a rift has opened up, blocking the main road that connects the village back to Hyrule Castle. To make matters even more interesting, you’ll learn that the hooded swordsman, Link, actually lives here in this village! But no one seems to know where he is at the moment.
Before heading further, take your time to explore each home in the village. Inside one house, you’ll find some Meat cooking in a fireplace. Interact with it to learn the Meat Echo. This Echo can be used to heal Zelda slightly, but it will also serve other purposes later on. Another home has several Pots you can learn the Echo from—these are useful for creating temporary barriers or for tossing at enemies when needed. As you continue exploring, you’ll come across a young boy in the center of town who is bouncing up and down on a Trampoline. This Trampoline Echo might seem like just a fun diversion at first, but don’t be fooled—it’s actually one of the most useful Echoes you can learn! With it, Zelda will be able to reach otherwise inaccessible areas, leap over obstacles, and create creative solutions for many platforming challenges that lie ahead.
Once you’ve collected the Echoes in town, don’t forget to dive down the well at the top of the village. This will lead you to a hidden room, where you’ll find someone’s modest home. Search around, and you’ll find a Treasure Chest that contains 5 jars of Floral Nectar. On its own, Floral Nectar will only provide a small amount of health recovery, but if you manage to find someone who can blend it into a drink, its properties will become far more potent, so be sure to hold onto it for now.
With your inventory filling up, head to the general store in the top right corner of the village. Here, a merchant sells a few useful items, including a Heart Piece for 80 Rupees and more Floral Nectar for 30 Rupees each. If you’ve been thorough in collecting Rupees from Treasure Chests and hidden spots along the way, you should have more than enough to purchase the Heart Piece, which will bring you one step closer to increasing Zelda’s health. If you can afford it, also consider picking up a Red Potion. It’s a quick and effective way to recover hearts if you find yourself in a tight spot.
Once you’re ready, leave the village and make your way north. As you follow the path, you’ll soon realize that the road has been completely cut off by a dark, swirling rift. This isn’t something you can tackle just yet, so for now, you’ll need to change your course. Head east instead, which will lead you to the edge of Suthorn Forest. The forest is dense and full of secrets, and it’s also where the next part of your journey begins. With the rift blocking the main road, you have no choice but to venture into the woods to find another way forward.
Suthorn Forest
As you enter the Suthorn Forest, taking the lower path from Suthorn Village, you’ll come across a wooden Sign that you can interact with to get directions. This Sign is also something you can learn to create an Echo of, which might be useful later on. Right next to the sign, you’ll see a peculiar stone structure. Tri will point out that this is a Waypoint. Waypoints are incredibly handy because once you’ve interacted with them, you can warp to them at any time from your Map, making travel across Hyrule much faster. Make sure to activate it before moving on.
Continuing along the main path, you’ll spot a small pool of water guarded by a few Zols. These gooey enemies are hiding among the boulders and grass near the pool, making it hard to see them until they spring up to attack. Deal with them using your Rock Echo or by summoning the Zol Echo you acquired earlier. Once they’re defeated, cross to the far side of the pool to open a Treasure Chest, which holds 5 Electro Apples. Electro Apples are unique consumables that can restore health and provide a small burst of electrical energy, so keep them in your inventory for when you need a quick boost during a tough fight.
Just to the right of the pool, there’s a series of ledges leading up to a small cave opening. Getting up to these ledges might seem tricky at first, but you have a couple of options. Use your new Trampoline Echo to bounce up, or if you prefer a more stable approach, summon a Table and Wooden Box Echo to create a staircase up to the high ground. Once you’re at the top, you’ll find another Treasure Chest containing 20 Rupees. Collect your reward and head back down to the road that leads deeper into the forest.
As you make your way eastward, be sure to stop and explore the Southern Suthorn Forest Cave located along the path. Inside, you’ll be greeted by a few Zols scattered around the cave. This is the perfect opportunity to try out some of the Monster Echoes you’ve learned so far. Summoning Keese Echoes can help you dispatch the Zols quickly, as the Keese can strike from above and easily deal with the small enemies.
As you head further in, you’ll come across a new type of Zol—the Ignizol. This fiery variant is much tougher than regular Zols. Not only is it resistant to most physical attacks, but its burning exterior can light enemies (and you) on fire if you get too close. However, you can use your Sea Urchin Echo to your advantage here. Place a Sea Urchin Echo in its path, and the Ignizol will jump straight into it, getting destroyed in the process. After defeating the Ignizol, don’t forget to collect its Echo. Due to its increased power, it costs two points instead of the usual one, but its fire-based abilities make it a potent tool in your arsenal.
Continue through the doorway at the end of the cave, and you’ll find yourself in a large grassy room teeming with Zols. Instead of engaging each one individually, summon an Ignizol and let it go to work. The Ignizol’s flames will quickly spread through the grass, setting the entire area ablaze and burning away the Zols in seconds. Just be cautious not to get caught in the fire yourself. Wait for the flames to die down before proceeding.
At the far end of the room, you’ll see two braziers—one is already lit, and the other is not. Use your newly acquired Ignizol Echo to solve this simple puzzle. Summon an Ignizol and toss it at the unlit brazier to ignite it. This will unlock the door to the next room, where you’ll find a Treasure Chest that contains a Fairy Bottle. With the Fairy Bottle in hand, you can capture Fairies as you find them, which will restore health if you get knocked out in battle.
Back outside in the forest, keep heading east until you come across a sign warning you about monsters hiding in the tall grass. This part of the forest is teeming with small snake-like creatures called Ropes. They’ll slither through the grass and lunge at you if you’re not careful. Ropes are particularly nimble and can dodge airborne attacks with ease, making them hard to hit. A good strategy here is to summon a Keese Echo to maneuver around the Ropes and catch them off-guard. Once you defeat a few, you can learn their Echo to summon Ropes of your own. If a Rope manages to surprise you, plant a Sea Urchin between you and the snake to stop it in its tracks.
After making your way through the tall grass, you’ll find a second cave entrance to the north, nestled among the cliffs lined with wooden posts. This is the Northern Suthorn Forest Cave. Head inside and descend the first ladder. You’ll notice a Piece of Heart sitting tantalizingly close on a high ledge to your right, but it’s just out of reach for now. Keep going down the next ladder to reach the bottom level. Down here, you’ll encounter a new type of enemy—a Caromadillo. This armadillo-like monster rolls at you at high speeds, bouncing off walls and causing considerable damage if it hits. You’ll need to be quick to avoid it, but it’s also susceptible to well-placed Sea Urchin Echoes. Place a few in its path, and it will roll right into them, getting stunned and destroyed. Once you defeat it, grab the Caromadillo Echo. This Echo can be used to summon Caromadillos that charge in straight lines, smashing through obstacles.
Continue past the enemy and you’ll see a row of wooden boxes blocking your path. Summon your Caromadillo Echo and let it smash through the boxes with ease. From here, you’ll need to climb up a series of rock walls. Be careful as you ascend—another Caromadillo will roll down from above. Time your jumps to avoid it, then make your way to the left, where you’ll finally reach that elusive Piece of Heart you saw earlier. This should be the fourth Piece of Heart you’ve collected, granting Zelda an additional Heart Container!
Exit the cave and head west. You’ll soon encounter your first Spear Moblin. These pig-like monsters are agile and tend to back away when you approach, even jumping onto higher platforms to keep out of reach. Summoning creatures like Caromadillos can help overwhelm them with speed, preventing them from escaping. After defeating the Spear Moblin, explore the nearby pool of water to spot a Fairy floating around. If you have the Fairy Bottle you found earlier, just run into the Fairy to catch it. This will provide a quick and effective way to restore your health if you’re defeated in battle.
As you follow the path to the marker on your map, you’ll reach a house that’s been completely overwhelmed by a nearby rift, making it impossible to enter. Tri will suggest that part of the rift might be accessible from the northeast. With your objective updated, head back and take the slope leading to a higher level, then continue east until you come across a Moblin Camp. These camps are usually marked by wooden post barriers and feature a central Treasure Chest that only unlocks once all the Moblins are defeated.
Use a combination of your Monster Echoes to clear out the camp. Try summoning two Keese and a Meat Echo to distract the Moblins, or go for a more direct approach with a Caromadillo and Rope combo. Once the area is clear, build a stairway up to the central platform to open the Treasure Chest. Inside, you’ll find 10 Refreshing Grapes, which can be used to restore health and stamina.
With the camp cleared, continue up the path to the northeast. There’s one last optional cave to explore before you reach the rift entrance, marked by two Braziers on either side of the entrance. This is the Eastern Suthorn Forest Cave, which serves as an arena for a tough boss fight. Inside, you’ll encounter a massive plant creature known as a Peahat. The Peahat floats into the air and extends its tendrils like helicopter blades, making it difficult to approach. When it’s flying, most attacks will bounce off its spinning tendrils. You’ll need to wait for it to pause or summon a Caromadillo Echo to attack from a distance. Alternatively, use an Ignizol to set the surrounding grass on fire. The flames will spread to the Peahat, dealing consistent damage until it’s brought down. Once you defeat it, you’ll earn the Peahat Echo. Note that this powerful Echo requires all three of your Tri Points to summon, making it a rare but powerful ally.
With all the caves explored and your inventory bolstered with new Echoes, it’s time to head to the northern Waypoint, where Tri can create an entrance into the rift. This is your chance to enter the Stilled Suthorn Forest, a warped version of the woods where you’ll face even greater challenges and discover the truth behind the rifts that threaten to consume the land. Interact with the spot Tri indicates, and step into the rift to continue your quest to restore peace to Hyrule!
Stilled Suthorn Forest Rift
When you enter the Stilled Suthorn Forest Rift, the atmosphere changes dramatically. This eerie place isn’t like the usual forest you explored before—it’s as if time itself has been frozen. The fragments of the forest that were swallowed by the rifts now hover in the void, forming a series of disconnected platforms that create a surreal landscape. Your goal is to navigate through these floating pieces of the forest, following the winding paths until you reach the ruins dungeon at the far side. Although the environment may seem disjointed and chaotic, these floating platforms do connect in a logical manner, so use your map and Tri’s guidance to help you find your way.
Begin by following the path in front of you, jumping from one fragmented section to another. As you move forward, the path will gradually lead to a higher platform. This elevated spot gives you a better view of the surroundings, allowing you to see the pathways branching out ahead. Look to your right, where a group of floating trees forms a makeshift bridge. Before you cross it, take a moment to observe your left side. There, you’ll see a shadowy blob hovering in the air. These shadowy blobs are dangerous—they act as sentinels of the rift. The moment they detect your presence, they’ll charge at you and summon two random creatures to attack. To deal with them, be ready to summon your own creatures. A well-timed Keese or Ignizol can intercept and destroy the creatures they summon before they become a real threat.
Cross over the floating trees, and you’ll soon come across a peculiar sight—a person trapped and frozen in the rift’s energy. It’s clear that the rift has captured more than just pieces of the forest. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything to free them just yet. Instead, focus on the entrance to a small cave nearby. This cave is your next stop, but it’s not going to be a straightforward journey.
Once inside, you’ll notice that the door at the far end is sealed tight. To unlock it, hop across the ledges to your right. As you make your way around, you’ll run into shadow versions of the enemies you’ve faced before. These shadow creatures are more resilient and aggressive than their normal counterparts, so it’s best to summon a few Keese to keep them at bay. Use the Keese to clear the enemies blocking your path, and continue jumping between the ledges until you reach a button in the corner. Pressing this button will unseal the door, granting you access to the next room.
In this new area, you’ll find yourself facing off against a room full of shadowy Zols. The door to the next area is locked until every last one of them is defeated. While fighting them head-on is an option, there’s a much more efficient way to handle this encounter. Take a close look at the layout of the room. Notice how the platforms are arranged at slight angles, creating natural barriers. This setup is perfect for using your Caromadillo Echo. Summon a Caromadillo and send it bouncing off the walls and ledges at just the right angle. With one well-placed charge, the Caromadillo can ricochet through the entire room, taking out multiple Zols in a single sweep. Once all the enemies are cleared, the door will unlock, and you can proceed.
After clearing the cave, step back outside into the Stilled Suthorn Forest. You’ll find yourself on a large grassy platform with three different paths to choose from. Each direction offers its own challenges and rewards, so take your time exploring them all.
Start by heading down the bottom right path, which leads to a small island with a ladder. Climb down, and you’ll enter a side-scrolling section of the cave. In this area, a single Spear Moblin stands guard, blocking the way to a Treasure Chest. Use a combination of Keese and Caromadillo Echoes to overwhelm it and open the chest, which contains a generous 50 Rupees. After collecting your prize, exit the cave and look carefully at the floating platforms above. Behind a tree, there’s another raised platform that you can access. Use your Trampoline or place a few Old Bed Echoes to create a stairway leading up to the floating island. Once you reach the top, you’ll find another Treasure Chest holding 20 Rupees. With both chests collected, you can move on to the next path.
Next, take the upper right path. This one is a bit shorter but still worthwhile. Jump carefully across two sideways trees to reach a small, floating platform where you’ll find 5 Rupees. It’s a small reward, but every Rupee counts when it comes to purchasing items or upgrades later on.
Finally, head up the upper left path. As you progress, you’ll come across another frozen figure—a familiar face from Hyrule Castle, Minister Lefte. It’s unsettling to see people from the castle trapped in this twisted version of the forest. Tri will reassure you that once the rift is mended, these people can be restored to their normal selves. For now, continue along the path until you reach the entrance to your first real dungeon.
Standing before the dungeon entrance, take a deep breath and prepare yourself. This isn’t just a fragmented part of the forest—it’s a place where the rift’s dark energy has taken root, twisting the environment and filling it with powerful enemies and complex puzzles. But with Tri’s help and your growing mastery of the Echoes, you’re more than capable of handling whatever the dungeon throws at you.
Suthorn Ruins Dungeon
As you step into the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon, you’re greeted by a familiar yet unsettling environment. This is the same place where Zelda was trapped during the game’s prologue, but now it exists within the Rift World, twisted and filled with new dangers. The ruins, once ominous and ancient, now pulsate with dark energy. Your task here is to navigate through the dungeon, save Tri’s friends, and restore the area to its natural state.
Start by interacting with the Waypoint in the first room. This will allow you to teleport back here later if you need to exit the dungeon and return. In the very first room, a massive boulder blocks your path to a button that unseals the far door. This obstacle seems insurmountable until Tri reveals a new ability for your Tri Rod: the power to Bind. By pressing X while facing an object, you can connect it to Tri and move it around by mimicking your movements. Practice this new ability by Binding the boulder and dragging it onto the button to open the door ahead.
In the next room, you’ll encounter another boulder, but this one is recessed into the ground at the bottom of a slope. This room introduces a new trick with Bind: vertical movement. Stand at the bottom of the slope and Bind the boulder, then walk up the slope to lift it out of the pit. With the boulder removed, you’ll reveal a hidden ladder leading to an underground section. Before descending, you can use the boulder to create a bridge across the nearby pool of water, or summon several Old Bed Echoes to form a makeshift path and explore the small room on the left. In this room, you’ll find a Treasure Chest partially buried in dirt. Bind to it and pull backward to drag it free, allowing you to open it and claim 5 Radiant Butter.
Once you’ve explored the side room, head down the ladder you uncovered earlier. Below, you’ll find yourself in a room filled with web strands. These strands can be climbed like ropes, and they’re essential for navigating this area. On the right side, you’ll encounter the creators of these webs: Strandtulas. These spider-like enemies can be dealt with easily by summoning a Sea Urchin above them to drop and defeat them. Once they’re gone, collect their Echo. The Strandtula Echo allows you to summon your own spiders that create climbable web ropes—a crucial tool for navigating both this room and future areas.
Test out your new Echo by summoning a Strandtula near a higher ledge on the right. Climb its web to reach a Treasure Chest containing the Dungeon Map. With the map in hand, you can now see the entire dungeon layout, including chest locations. Use additional Strandtulas to navigate the rest of the room and climb to the far-right side, where a ladder leads back up.
Once you’re back on the upper level, you’ll find yourself at the base of a tall room with high ledges. While you can use platforms like Old Beds to cross the gap at the top, Strandtulas are just as effective, as their webs allow you to traverse ceilings and climb walls. Summon them strategically to make your way across.
As you enter the next room, it might feel eerily familiar. This is where you first took control of Link during the prologue. The bottom of the room now houses a single Ignizol, which you can defeat to gain its Echo if you haven’t already. Use the lift to ascend to the second floor, where new challenges await.
On the second floor, you’ll soon encounter a Darknut—a heavily armored enemy that presents a significant challenge. Unlike Link, Zelda doesn’t have a sword or shield, so you’ll need to rely on your Echoes. The Darknut’s armor makes it resistant to blunt strikes, so summoning durable monsters like the Spear Moblin or using Sea Urchins to trap it in place can be effective. Once defeated, don’t forget to collect the Darknut Echo, as it will be useful for summoning a powerful ally later on.
After the Darknut, take the left path, which leads to a side-scrolling underground area. Here, you’ll find several braziers that need to be lit to progress. Use an Ignizol to light the braziers while navigating the room. Bind to a small boulder and drag it into a pit to clear your path, and then summon an Ignizol again to destroy the wooden boxes blocking the exit. Once the final brazier is lit, the gate will open, allowing you to leave.
As you exit the underground area, you’ll reach a sealed door surrounded by four armored statues. One of the statues holds a shield. Bind to the shield with Tri and pull it off the statue, which will unlock the door. Inside, you’ll encounter Keese, as well as a large pile of rubble blocking access to a Treasure Chest. Use a Strandtula to create a web and climb over the rubble, where you’ll find 50 Rupees.
Continue through the dungeon, clearing rooms filled with new enemies like Deku Babas. These stationary but deadly plants have a long reach, but you can use Bind to yank their heads off, defeating them instantly. If you’ve run out of energy for your Swordfighter form, search for floating energy orbs in Rift Worlds to recharge.
Eventually, you’ll come to a room with a massive Boss Door, but you’ll need a Big Key to unlock it. Solve a series of puzzles involving statues and buttons to find the Boss Key. One such puzzle involves Binding to a statue and carefully positioning it on a button by dragging it up a slope or using platforms to adjust its height. Once you have the Big Key, return to the Boss Door and prepare for the final challenge.
Inside the boss room, you’ll face the Seismic Talus, a massive stone creature with devastating attacks. Its weak point is a purple orb located on its underside. Stay mobile, strafing to avoid its fist attacks while summoning Echoes like Ropes or Caromadillos to attack the orb. When the orb pops out, transform into Swordfighter form and deal as much damage as possible before it retracts.
As the battle progresses, the Talus will shield the orb on its arm, requiring a new approach. Use airborne Echoes like Keese or Spear Moblins to target the orb. In its final phase, the Talus becomes faster and more aggressive, keeping the orb on its head. Wait for it to slam its hands down, which lowers its head and exposes the orb. Summon a flurry of Keese or other ranged attackers to knock the orb loose, then finish it off with Swordfighter form.
With the Talus defeated, you’ll restore Suthorn Forest and free Tri’s friends, who share their power with Tri, increasing his abilities and granting you additional Echo points. Don’t forget to collect the Heart Container before leaving the dungeon—it will permanently increase your maximum health.
Back outside, Minister Lefte appears, thanking you for restoring the forest. She asks for your help in reaching her brother, Lueburry, at the house that was previously inaccessible due to the rift. Lueburry, a Rift researcher and the creator of Link’s sword, will offer to upgrade your sword and energy levels in exchange for Might Crystals. With Suthorn Forest restored, your journey continues as Tri detects two new large rifts, one in the Gerudo Desert and another in Jabul Waters. These rifts hold the key to finding General Wright and the King of Hyrule, setting the stage for your next great adventure.
Gerudo Desert
A Rift in the Gerudo Desert
Embarking on the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert Main Quest is an exciting next step in your journey. After defeating Seismic Talus in the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon, you’re presented with a choice: venture into the Gerudo Desert or explore Jabul Waters. While the game allows you to decide, let’s focus on tackling the challenges of the vast, arid Gerudo Desert in the southwest corner of the map. To get there, head west from Suthorn Forest and prepare for an adventure filled with danger, puzzles, and the unique culture of the Gerudo people.
As you approach the desert entrance, you’ll pass through a canyon where flocks of crows soar ominously overhead. Activate the Waypoint near the canyon’s entrance to unlock a fast-travel point for easier navigation later. The desert itself is a harsh and unforgiving landscape, but it’s also filled with opportunities to collect powerful Echoes, solve intriguing puzzles, and uncover treasures.
Once inside the desert, head directly west toward Oasis, your first point of interest. Along the way, keep an eye out for the Aruroda Echo. This handy Echo will be invaluable as you progress through the challenges of the desert. Upon reaching Oasis, you’ll find a small sanctuary amidst the sand dunes, complete with palm trees, a Waypoint, and a few intriguing locations. To the west side of the Oasis, there’s a stand where you can discover a Smoothie Shop. This is where you can craft your first Smoothie and kick off the “Recipes, Please!” side quest. Smoothies provide valuable buffs, so it’s worth learning how to make them.
Next to the Waypoint, you’ll meet a woman offering the “Flying Tile” side quest. Completing it later will reward you with a useful item. Nearby, you’ll also spot a tent where the Mango Rush Mini Game is located. While you don’t need to play it immediately, remember this location for later when you’ll want to earn a Heart Piece, an Outfit, and an item for the Automatons.
From Oasis, you have a few options. Heading north will lead you into a sandstorm-covered area that limits visibility, while going northwest will bring you to two red pillars where you can find a Stamp. Exploring these areas will yield valuable Echoes, such as the Sand Piranha, Tornado, and Platboom. Of these, the Platboom is particularly important—it simplifies platforming and can be found in a cave north of Gerudo Town. If Echo hunting isn’t your priority right now, set your sights southward toward the massive rift marked on your map.
As you approach the rift and nearby ruins, you’ll encounter a Gerudo guard blocking your entry. They won’t allow you to proceed without permission, but just as you’re pondering your next move, you’ll hear screams coming from the east. Investigate to find a Gerudo woman in distress. Rescue her, and she’ll introduce herself as Dohna, an investigator looking into the rifts. She invites you to Gerudo Town, located northwest from your current position. Make your way there, activating Waypoints and avoiding quicksand along the way.
Gerudo Town is a bustling hub of activity and an essential location for your quest. Activate the Waypoint at the entrance, and take some time to explore. The local shop offers the Gerudo Sandal Accessory, which is a must-have for traversing quicksand and will be essential for defeating the secret Lanmola bosses hidden in the desert. You can also pick up the “Elusive Tumbleweed” side quest, which is quick to complete and rewards you with helpful items.
At the center of the town, meet with Seera, the head of the Gerudo. While she initially doubts your ability to solve the rifts, Dohna supports your efforts. Dohna returns to Oasis, asking you to follow her to discuss your next steps. When you meet her there, she outlines three specific locations to investigate, activating three short quests.
The first quest takes you south of Oasis to the Southern Oasis Ruins. Here, you’ll face a group of floating black blobs. These enemies are relatively easy to defeat, especially if you use your Swordfighter form. Don’t worry about conserving energy, as you’ll find more to replenish your power. Once the blobs are defeated, this quest is complete.
The second quest directs you to the Southern Gerudo Desert. Warp back to Gerudo Town and head south, where you’ll find guards in need of water. Dohna provides two Chilly Cactus, which you’ll use to make a Cactus Smoothie. Warp back to Oasis and talk to the Business Scrub at the Smoothie Shop to craft the drink. Deliver it to the guards to finish the quest.
The final quest is the most challenging. It leads you to the Ancestor’s Cave of Rest in the northern desert, hidden within the sandstorm. Inside, a guard asks for help reaching the other side. Use Bind to move a large rock blocking the door and proceed through. Defeat the Holmill enemies you encounter and collect their Echo, which will be helpful later. Move the rock again to reveal a ladder and descend. In the lower section, the Holmill Echo allows you to burrow through the sand, revealing treasures like a Golden Egg and Rupees. Light the torches on the other side to complete the puzzle and finish the quest.
Return to Gerudo Town to update Seera on your progress. Although you’ve completed the tasks, Seera remains skeptical until news arrives of a rift expanding nearby. Warp to the Oasis and head northeast to confront the rift at the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins. Inside, you’ll navigate five key locations to save Tri’s friends and mend the rift. Utilize your Echoes like Platboom and Sand Piranha to traverse the challenging terrain, defeat enemies, and collect energy masses.
Once the rift is sealed, everyone in Gerudo Town acknowledges your efforts, and you gain access to the Gerudo Sanctum. However, quicksand blocks the entrance. To proceed, head south of Oasis to the Cryptic Cavern, a mini-dungeon filled with puzzles and powerful Echoes like the Gibdo Lv. 2 and Pathblade. Solve the challenges within to clear the path to the Sanctum, where the next major chapter of your journey awaits.
Cryptic Cavern
To access the Cryptic Cavern, you first need to earn permission from the Gerudo chief, which is granted after you successfully clear the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins Rift during the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest. Once the chief recognizes your abilities, she’ll entrust you with the mission to save the desert and grant you access to this cavern. This mini-dungeon serves as the gateway to the next significant challenge: the Gerudo Sanctum.
The Cryptic Cavern is located south of Oasis, near the massive rift dominating the southern desert. Travel there, activating any nearby Waypoints for easier navigation. At the entrance, a Gerudo guard will acknowledge your permission to enter and allow you to proceed. As you step inside, you’ll find yourself in a dimly lit, mysterious area filled with puzzles, sand-based mechanics, and enemies to conquer.
Upon entering, the first thing you’ll notice is a switch on the left side of the room. This switch unlocks the northern door, but you’ll need to hit it to activate it. If you don’t have a flying Echo like Keese, you can throw a pot or rock at the switch to trigger it. Once the door opens, head inside to the next room.
Here, you’ll see Wind Cannons scattered throughout the room, blowing strong gusts of air that block your path. On the left, there’s a locked door requiring a key, while the door to the right is open. For now, ignore the right door and focus on the middle path. If you haven’t already acquired the Wind Cannon Echo, grab it in this room. This Echo is crucial not only for progressing through the cavern but also for accessing a Heart Piece southwest of Gerudo Town later on.
Head through the middle door and use Boulder or Wooden Box Echoes to block the gusts of wind. Once you’ve stopped the Wind Cannons, proceed to the next area, where a group of Pathblades awaits. These rotating blade enemies are both agile and dangerous, but you can defeat them by summoning Echoes or throwing rocks to damage them. After clearing the Pathblades, grab the Pathblade Echo from one of them. This Echo lets you summon a rotating blade to attack enemies or hit distant switches.
With your new Pathblade Echo, look to the northern part of the room for another switch. Use the Pathblade to hit the switch, revealing a Treasure Chest on the right side. Hop over to claim your reward, but be cautious—a Gibdo guards the chest. Defeat the Gibdo to acquire the Gibdo Echo, then use the Wind Cannon to blow away sand mounds in the area, uncovering some hidden Rupees. Once you’ve looted the room, head through the southern door.
The southern passage leads to another challenge where Arurodas—sand-dwelling enemies—lie in wait. Defeat them and continue through the left door. You’ll find more sand dunes in this room, which you can clear with the Wind Cannon to uncover additional Rupees. After exploring, return to the wind-filled room at the beginning of the cavern. Use the key you found earlier to unlock the left door, which leads to a ladder.
Climb down the ladder into a side-scrolling section filled with more Pathblades. These enemies can be defeated, but if you prefer a non-combat approach, use Bind to immobilize them temporarily. To your left, there’s a pot containing a Fairy, which is a valuable resource for healing if you’re low on health. Nearby, there’s also a Treasure Chest. Use Bind to pull it toward you and claim 20 Rupees.
Continue down and to the right, where sand mounds block your way. Use the Wind Cannon to clear the sand and proceed. Avoid the Pathblades as you move upward. If you encounter a vertical obstacle, summon a Strandtula Echo to climb across the gap. This combination of Echoes will help you navigate the area effectively.
At the top of the ladder, you’ll face a Gibdo Lv. 2 enemy. These enhanced Gibdos are tougher than the standard variety, but defeating them grants you their powerful Echo. After collecting the Gibdo Lv. 2 Echo, move to the right to find a large plug embedded in the ground. Use Bind to pull the plug free, causing the sand in the sanctum to drain. This action clears the quicksand blocking the entrance to the Gerudo Sanctum, allowing you to access the next major dungeon.
Once the sand has drained, climb the ladder on the left to return to the Wind Cannon room. From there, follow the path downward and exit the Cryptic Cavern. As you emerge back into the desert, take a moment to prepare yourself for the challenges ahead. The next dungeon, the Gerudo Sanctum, is now accessible, and it promises to test both your skills and the power of the Echoes you’ve acquired. Make sure to stock up on supplies, activate any nearby Waypoints, and ensure your Fairy Bottle is filled before venturing into the sanctum to continue your quest to restore balance to the Gerudo Desert.
Gerudo Sanctum Dungeon
The Gerudo Sanctum is a standout dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and unlike other dungeons, you won’t access it through a Rift. Instead, it’s revealed after completing the Cryptic Cavern. If you haven’t already drained the sand by pulling the plug with Bind in the Cryptic Cavern, you’ll need to do so to uncover the Sanctum’s entrance in the desert. Once that’s done, make your way back outside and enter the Sanctum from the front door.
As you step into the Gerudo Sanctum, you’ll immediately notice its size and complexity. This dungeon requires a mix of indoor and outdoor navigation, with puzzles that span multiple layers of the structure. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but with a methodical approach, you’ll conquer it. The moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a familiar face. Follow them up the ladder into a room filled with climbable walls and gusts of wind. Carefully maneuver around the gusts by climbing to the right, then jumping to the opposite wall and scaling upward. Once you’re high enough, push a boulder into the path of another wind gust to block it, allowing you to safely climb the ladder above.
At the top, activate the Waypoint to secure your progress, then head left. In the next area, you’ll find the Flying Tile Echo. This unique Echo is perfect for absorbing damage from traps or hazards, so place it strategically in front of you to clear a safe path. After grabbing a Treasure Chest with 20 Rupees, return to the main room and take the right path. Here, use Bind to grab a lever and pull it as far as possible. As you do, a blue gate will begin to close slowly, so you’ll need to dash quickly to slip through before it shuts.
In the next room, you’ll find a rotating door mechanism. Bind to the door and pull it to rotate the structure, opening a new pathway. Don’t forget to open the Treasure Chest here, which contains a Silver Key. Head back to the main room and use the key to unlock the north door. Inside, you’ll encounter snake-like statues and capture the Snake Statue Echo, another valuable addition to your repertoire. Proceed to the next room, where Mothula enemies await. Defeat them to earn the Mothula Echo, which is essential for later puzzles and the Dampé Automatons questline.
Moving through the left door, you’ll find yourself in a room with conveyor belts. The belts are tricky to navigate, especially with boxes blocking your path. Use Bind to remove the boxes and jump across the belts to avoid falling into the pits below. At the far side, climb down a ladder into an area filled with Caramadillo enemies. Defeat one to collect the Caramadillo Lv. 2 Echo, a stronger version of the original. Use the Holmill Echo to uncover a hidden Golden Egg chest before dropping down and climbing another ladder to exit the area.
Back in the upper levels of the Sanctum, you’ll find a stone tablet near a sealed door. It describes the need to find matching statues for the required tributes. Head right using Bind to open the door and clear the room of sand mounds using the Wind Cannon or Tornando Echo. You’ll discover another stone tablet that mentions a blue elephant and a chest containing Rock Salt. Return left and defeat the Poe enemy to capture the Poe Echo, then grab the Dungeon Map from a chest to help you navigate the Sanctum.
Leaving the building temporarily, you’ll find yourself outside. You can climb up to a hole in the wall for some easy Rupees or head left to solve a ladder puzzle. Bind the pillar sections and align them to form a continuous ladder, then climb up to reach a chest containing 50 Rupees. Follow the path upward and to the right to access the roof of the Sanctum, where you can clear sand mounds for a Monster Stone. Descend to the right and re-enter the dungeon through another door.
Inside, you’ll encounter another lever puzzle. Bind to the lever, pull it to activate a closing door mechanism, and jump through before the door shuts. If Sand Piranhas are giving you trouble, eliminate them first to clear the area. In the next room, use Tornando to clear more sand mounds and defeat a combination of Gibdo and ReDead enemies. If you haven’t already, capture the ReDead Echo and the Cat Statue Echo. Move the Cat Statue north to open a corridor leading to another Waypoint. Activate it, then head through the door on the left for the miniboss battle.
The miniboss here is Bow Link, a shadowy version of Link armed with a bow. This fight is tricky because Bow Link is fast and tends to keep his distance, firing arrows from afar. The key to winning is to overwhelm him with Echoes while staying mobile. Use Swordfighter Form to close the distance and land strong hits, while summoning Echoes like Keese or Spear Moblins to distract him. When Bow Link begins glowing purple, he’ll unleash a barrage of arrows in quick succession, so be ready to dodge and counterattack. Once defeated, he’ll drop the Bow of Might, an upgrade for your Swordfighter Form that allows ranged attacks.
With the Bow of Might in hand, you’re ready to continue your exploration of the Sanctum and tackle the challenges that lie ahead. This powerful new weapon will prove invaluable as you delve deeper into the dungeon and uncover the secrets it holds. Stay sharp, and remember to use your Echoes creatively to navigate obstacles and defeat the enemies that stand in your way.
After you’ve triumphed over the boss in the Gerudo Sanctum, climb the ladder at the back of the room to continue deeper into the dungeon. The next area introduces a swarm of Beetles. This is your chance to capture both the Beetle Echo and the Beetle Mound Echo, which will prove useful later for creating climbing spots and distractions. Once you’ve handled the Beetles, switch to your Swordfighter form and use the Bow of Might to destroy the patches of black goo blocking your way forward. This will clear the path into a room filled with flame pillars.
The flame pillars make this room a tricky puzzle to navigate. Use Boulders to block the streams of fire, creating safe paths as you move through. Make your way to the back of the room, where you’ll find the Elephant Statue Echo. This Echo is essential for solving the final puzzle later on, so be sure to grab it. While you’re here, open the chest to collect a Small Key. With both items secured, return to the hallway with the stone tablet you encountered earlier, and then make your way back to the room with the closing door mechanism.
Head to the right side of the closing door room and prepare for another battle. Defeat the enemies in your path, using your Echoes creatively to gain the upper hand. After clearing the room, Bind to the door and pull it open to access the next area. Inside, you’ll find another puzzle: this time, the goal is to light all the torches in the room. Start by dealing with the wooden box sitting atop the Wind Cannon—either destroy it with an Echo or move it aside with Bind. Next, Bind to the handle of the central flamethrower. Rotate the flamethrower until its flames ignite all three torches in the room. Once you’ve done this, the final stone tablet will be revealed, and it describes a bird.
Now it’s time to locate the final statue, which lies outside the dungeon. Warp to the outside of the Sanctum and head to the right. Look for a wall you can climb down, then follow the path north. You’ll encounter another pillar puzzle here—use Bind to rotate the pillar and align the ladder sections. Once the ladder is fully aligned, climb to the top to discover the Hawk Statue Echo, the final piece of the puzzle. With this Echo in hand, head back into the Sanctum’s central room.
Reread the riddle on the stone tablet in the central room to confirm the correct placements of the statues. Place the Bird Statue on the left pedestal and the Elephant Statue on the right pedestal. Doing so will unlock the door to the next area. Inside, you’ll find a large plug blocking the way. Use Bind to pull the plug and drain the sand from the room. This action reveals a new passageway leading to a room on the right. Enter this room and twist the central platform to uncover a massive Treasure Chest. Open it to claim the Big Key, the final key needed to unlock the boss door. Head upstairs to the boss room and prepare for the Sanctum’s ultimate challenge.
Before facing the boss, don’t forget to collect a hidden Treasure Chest located on the second floor of the Sanctum. To access this elusive chest, you’ll need to climb to the roof of the Sanctum. Look for a small patch of sand among the tiles on the left side. Use the Holmill Echo on this sandy spot to dig a hole, which creates a passage for you to drop down into the chest’s room. Inside, you’ll find a reward of 50 Rupees. With all the treasures secured, you’re now ready to complete the Gerudo Sanctum.
After finishing the Sanctum and exiting the dungeon, you’ll return to Gerudo Town. The atmosphere is celebratory as the townsfolk rejoice over the disappearance of the rifts. The Gerudo chief and her daughter personally thank you for your efforts, expressing their gratitude for saving the desert. This marks a significant milestone in your journey, but there’s still more to do.
Your next destination may lead you to the Jabul Waters, where another major rift awaits. If you’ve already helped the Zora, then your next step might involve returning to Lueberry’s lab to prepare for the next phase of your quest. From there, you can journey back to Hyrule Castle Town to continue the Still Missing quest.
Don’t forget that the Gerudo Desert is still full of optional challenges and collectibles. Take the time to hunt down remaining rifts, Heart Pieces, Echoes, Might Crystals, and Stamps scattered throughout the region. Thorough exploration will not only strengthen your character but also provide valuable rewards that make the challenges ahead more manageable. With the Gerudo Sanctum complete, the path forward is open, and your adventure continues to grow ever more exciting.
Boss: Mogryph
How to defeat Mogryph: Defeating Mogryph, the boss at the end of the Gerudo Sanctum, is a thrilling battle that tests your skill, timing, and use of Echoes. While Mogryph might seem a bit unpredictable at first, mastering its patterns and using the tools you’ve collected throughout the dungeon will make this encounter manageable. The fight unfolds in two distinct phases, each with its own challenges and mechanics.
The battle begins in a large sandy arena with four animal statues placed in the corners. These statues aren’t just decorative—they’re essential for dealing damage and controlling Mogryph’s movements. As the fight starts, Mogryph will hide beneath the sand, popping its head out in a random location to swipe at you. These swipes are ranged attacks, so you’ll need to stay mobile or block them to avoid taking damage. After a few swipes, Mogryph will roar, signaling a shift in its attack pattern. It will burrow underground and begin circling the arena rapidly. Pay close attention to where it stops, as this is your cue to act.
The key to stunning Mogryph in the first phase is to place one of the animal statues in its path. Use Bind to move a statue and position it carefully, ensuring that Mogryph runs directly into it. When this happens, the boss will be stunned momentarily, creating a perfect opening for you to attack. Switch to Swordfighter Form and unleash a barrage of strikes, or summon powerful Echoes to deal additional damage. You’ll need to repeat this process twice, stunning and attacking Mogryph each time, to transition into the second phase.
In the second phase, Mogryph takes to the air, adding a new layer of complexity to the fight. The arena becomes more dangerous, as large sections of it turn into quicksand. If you managed to purchase the Gerudo Sandals accessory earlier, they can help mitigate the effects of the quicksand. Otherwise, stick to the raised platforms around the arena to stay safe. Mogryph’s airborne attacks include sending slow-moving sandstorms your way. These are easy to dodge if you keep moving, so don’t let them corner you. The boss will also fly high into the air before diving back down. Watch the shadow it casts on the ground to predict where it will land, and move out of the way to avoid taking damage.
After Mogryph dives into the sand, it will resurface briefly, giving you another opportunity to use the animal statues. Place one in its path as it charges, just as you did in the first phase. If you miss your chance, don’t worry—Mogryph will return to its earlier pattern of swiping and charging, allowing you to try again. Once you successfully stun it, attack relentlessly. Repeat this cycle until Mogryph is defeated.
Victory over Mogryph is rewarded handsomely. You’ll receive a Heart Container to increase your maximum health, 5 Might Crystals to power up Tri’s abilities, and a level-up for Tri, which increases the number of Echo points you can use. After the fight, you’ll leave the Gerudo Sanctum and return to Gerudo Town, where the townsfolk will celebrate your success. The Gerudo chief and her daughter will thank you for saving their land, marking the end of this chapter in your adventure.
With Mogryph defeated and the Gerudo Desert rift closed, your next destination depends on your progress. If you haven’t already tackled the Jabul Waters, this watery region will be your next objective. If you’ve already cleared it and the Jabul Ruins Dungeon, it’s time to return to Hyrule Castle Town and continue the Still Missing quest. As always, don’t forget to explore the Gerudo Desert for optional rifts, Heart Pieces, and other collectibles before moving on to the next leg of your journey. The tools and upgrades you gather now will be invaluable in the challenges ahead.
Jabul Waters
The Jabul Waters Rift Quest
When you’re ready to tackle the Jabul Waters Rift Main Quest, head to the northeastern corner of Hyrule. You’ll gain access to this area after completing The Blocked Path side quest in Suthorn Prairie. Travel north to Hyrule Castle Town, then take the eastern path through a canyon, eventually leading you to the beach and the expansive waters of Jabul Waters.
As you enter Jabul Waters, head east to discover Seesyde Village, a serene coastal settlement. Talk to the couple near the Stamp stand to learn that Lord Jabu-Jabu, the revered guardian of the region, has gone mad. His den lies further east across a bridge. Before heading to Jabu-Jabu’s Den, you can explore the village for side quests or venture into nearby Zora Cove. This area is a treasure trove of Echoes, including the versatile Bombfish Echo, which you’ll need soon.
To continue the main quest, follow the river north and east until you reach a distinctive rift-covered entrance. Unfortunately, the door is locked, and the only way to enter is by speaking to the chiefs of the River Zora Village and the Sea Zora Village. Your first stop is the River Zora Village.
Make your way northeast of Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Den to find the River Zora Village. Activate the nearby Waypoint for convenience, then locate Chief Dradd in the northwest house. However, your initial conversation with him doesn’t go smoothly, as he abruptly leaves without providing help. While in the village, consider purchasing the Zora’s Flippers accessory for 400 Rupees if you can afford it. These flippers significantly boost your swimming speed, a crucial upgrade for navigating the watery terrain.
Next, head to the Sea Zora Village, which is hidden underwater in Zora Cove. Swim through the cove, gathering Echoes like Tangler, Biri, and Chompfin along the way. These Echoes are handy for combat and puzzles. Once you find the Sea Zora Village, dive into its depths and seek out Chief Kushara in the back of the settlement. Unfortunately, she also refuses to cooperate and swims away. Leave the village and head north to Crossflows Plaza, located near a Business Scrub offering a side quest. At the plaza, you’ll find the two chiefs arguing, but the escalating chaos at the River Zora Village demands your immediate attention.
Return to the River Zora Village and head east to a small island surrounded by waterfalls, where a rift has appeared. Enter the Stilled Upper Zora River Rift, where your goal is to free five of Tri’s trapped friends and collect energy masses. Begin by swimming across the broken river to the left to find the first energy mass. Then, climb up and swim toward Dradd, who stands near another energy source. Head right to locate a Keese and a small water pool leading to a cave. Inside the cave, collect the Bombfish Echo and use it to destroy the rocks below, allowing you to retrieve another energy mass. Swim to the bottom of the area to the left for another energy source, then defeat a Tektite in the same cave for the final energy. Exit the cave and head south to an area filled with Octoroks. If you haven’t already, grab the Octorok Echo before collecting the last energy mass atop a pillar. With all the energy collected, the rift will be repaired, and you can proceed to Zora Cove for the next quest.
In Zora Cove, you’ll find Dradd trying to enter a cave where Kushara is trapped. Swim through a hole beneath Dradd to access the cave. Inside, you’ll navigate a series of glowing plants that light up your path. Collect the Tangler Lv. 2 Echo and some Bubble Kelp from a chest as you progress. At the end of the cave, you’ll find both Dradd and Kushara safe. Use Bind to move a rock blocking their exit, clearing the way and completing the quest. Now, it’s time to return to Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Den.
Back at the den, the performance stages needed to pacify Lord Jabu-Jabu are broken. Use Bind to fix them by removing the blue stone from the left pedestal and retrieving the missing half of the gold pedestal underwater. Bind to the stone, bring it to the surface, and drag it into place. Once the stage is repaired, the performers will play their music, opening the door to Lord Jabu-Jabu’s arena. However, your entrance triggers a miniboss fight.
The Lord Jabu-Jabu miniboss fight requires precision and patience. Jabu-Jabu attacks by spitting Tanglers and debris into the water. Stay on the debris to avoid being submerged and throw Chompfin Echoes at the boss when possible. Wait for Jabu-Jabu to stop swimming and begin sucking in everything around him. At this moment, drop a Bombfish into the water. When Jabu-Jabu swallows it, the explosion will leave him vulnerable. Transform into Swordfighter form, summon Echoes, and attack relentlessly. Repeat this strategy until you defeat him, allowing Tri to open a rift.
Entering the Stilled Jabul Waters Rift, you’ll encounter a massive section of water and pillars to navigate. Use platforming Echoes like Water Blocks, Beds, and Trampolines to progress. Swim north and climb the pillars to the left, reaching a stone area. As you move right, capture the Water Block Echo near two floating water blocks—this versatile Echo will be essential for creating water paths. Use Water Blocks to fill gaps and move between bodies of water, eventually climbing to a log bridge. Continue up, placing Water Blocks in gaps and ascending until you reach dry land.
Head left to climb above a shipwreck, using Water Blocks and trees to ascend further. Collect Rupees and treasure chests along the way, including one containing 50 Rupees. Your climb will eventually bring you to the stilled body of Lord Jabu-Jabu. Cross his body to reach the next dungeon: the Jabul Ruins Dungeon. Prepare yourself for the challenges ahead, as the mysteries of Jabul Waters are far from over.
Jabul Ruins Dungeon
Reaching the Jabul Ruins Dungeon is a significant milestone in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. After overcoming the mini-boss in Lord Jabu-Jabu’s Den and navigating through the Stilled Jabul Waters Rift, you’ll finally arrive at the entrance to this underwater dungeon. If you haven’t already acquired the Water Block Echo, be sure to pick it up in the rift—it will be a vital tool not just here but for the rest of the game, allowing you to create paths and navigate complex areas.
To begin, cross the suspended and stilled body of Lord Jabu-Jabu to reach the dungeon entrance. Inside, activate the Waypoint near the entrance, then move forward. The floor will give way beneath you, but fortunately, you’ll land in a pool of water. Swim downward, using Bind to move a large rock blocking your way. Push the next rock to the right, letting it sink further to clear your path. Grab some air bubbles to replenish your oxygen and prepare for a tense underwater chase. A giant fish and a whirlpool await you, so swim to the right as quickly as possible, avoiding enemies and moving crates out of the way. At the end, Bind the rock to unblock the exit, then swim upward to climb a ladder to the next area.
Once you reach dry land, take the stairs on the left to arrive at the main hall of the dungeon. Activate the Waypoint here and proceed north. This main chamber is a central puzzle hub where you’ll raise water levels and increase geyser pressure to progress. Start by stepping on the purple switch to activate the first level, then descend the ladder to the left.
In the dark water below, swim carefully, activating glowing plants to light your path. Along the way, you’ll encounter enemies and collect the Bio Deku Baba Echo, a new addition to your arsenal. Keep swimming, avoiding enemies and grabbing air bubbles. Near the bottom of this cavernous section, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing 100 Rupees. Swim upward and to the left to climb another ladder, leading to a room with a brazier.
In this room, swim down to retrieve the brazier using Bind, then bring it to the surface. Place it anywhere convenient and summon an Ignizol to light the nearby torches. Doing so will unlock the door on your right. Head through the door, step on the blue switch inside, and jump down the hole to return to the dark room. Climb the ladder to proceed.
This time, take the ladder on the right, swim across the water, and locate a Treasure Chest containing the Dungeon Map. As you explore, avoid Bombfish while navigating carefully through the room. Swim upward and climb the ladder on the far side to progress.
In the next area, you’ll need to swim under metal bars to reach dry land. Use water-based Echoes to deal with sharks patrolling the area. At the back of the room, find a wooden box stuck in a grate. Bind the box to pull it free, allowing you to swim through the gap. Climb the stairs beyond to collect 50 Rupees from a chest. Carefully cross the wooden platform and rope to enter the next room.
Here, defeat a group of crabs to open the way forward. Press the red switch, then jump down the hole and climb another ladder to return to the main hall. The activated geyser now allows you to ride up one level. Head left into a room with a fast current. Use wooden planks to navigate, either by Binding them into position or placing Echoes like Water Blocks to create stable paths. Work your way to the left side and enter the next room.
Inside, you’ll need to hit a series of switches scattered across the room. Use your Keese Echo, Swordfighter form, or throw pots to activate them. Employ Water Blocks or Beds to gain the height needed to reach the switches. Once all are lit, climb the stairs and press the yellow switch. Drop back down to the main hall to continue.
This time, go right and swim through another dark passage. In the bottom-left corner, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing a Golden Egg, a rare Smoothie ingredient. Use Bind to move boulders and planks to clear your path. For the second set of obstacles, move the boulder off the top plank, place it on the bottom plank, then remove it again. This will allow you to use Bombfish to blast your way to the bottom, where you’ll find the Big Key in a chest. Swim back up and proceed right, breaking wooden boxes to clear your way.
The next room is filled with monsters. Use your most powerful water-based Echoes to defeat them, unlocking the door on the left. Inside, drop a boulder on the final dark blue switch to activate it. Swim through the newly opened exit, move a plank with Bind, and shift a rock to the right, allowing you to swim down and return to the main hall.
With all switches activated, ride the geyser to the top floor. Unlock the massive boss door using the Big Key, save your progress, and enter the boss arena. Be prepared—this fight is entirely underwater, requiring strategy and quick thinking. If you need guidance, refer to a dedicated boss strategy guide.
After defeating the dungeon boss, you’ll be rewarded with a Heart Container, 5 Might Crystals, and a level-up for Tri, which reduces the cost of certain Echoes. With the Jabul Ruins Dungeon complete, the Jabul Waters will return to normal, marking a significant victory in your journey.
Your next destination depends on your progress. If you haven’t already tackled the challenges of the Gerudo Desert, it’s time to head there. If you’ve already resolved the rift there, return to Lueberry’s lab and prepare for your journey back to Hyrule Castle Town to advance the Still Missing quest. As always, explore thoroughly to collect any remaining Echoes, Heart Pieces, or treasures before moving on.
Boss: Vocavor
How To Defeat Vocavor: When you face Vocavor, the boss of the Jabul Ruins, be ready for an intense underwater battle that tests your ability to manage oxygen and swim skillfully. Equipping the right gear will make all the difference. If you have the Zora’s Flippers, they’re the best choice for increasing your swim speed, allowing you to dodge attacks more effectively. However, the Zora Scale can help if you’re struggling to maintain oxygen, though the arena provides plenty of air bubbles scattered along the base to keep you breathing. To further prepare, consider drinking a smoothie made with Bubble Kelp or Riverhorses to enhance your swimming capabilities.
The fight begins with Vocavor lurking beneath the water’s surface. During Phase 1, you’ll be completely submerged. Vocavor’s primary attack is to launch small whirlpools at you. These whirlpools are fairly slow and predictable, and you can easily avoid them by swimming up or down in a zigzag motion. Your focus here is to expose Vocavor’s weak point, which is protected by a glowing blue shield on its back. Summon an Echo, such as a Bombfish or Chompfin, and aim for the blue shield. The explosive power of the Bombfish works particularly well, breaking the shield and revealing the vulnerable spot.
Once the shield is down, immediately switch to Swordfighter Form and swim close to Vocavor to unleash a flurry of strikes. Your goal is to deal as much damage as possible before it moves again. Keep an eye on your oxygen levels and grab air bubbles as needed to stay in the fight. Depending on your efficiency, you might need to repeat this process a second time to transition Vocavor into the next phase.
In Phase 2, the arena changes, introducing two pockets of open air where you can briefly stand. Vocavor’s behavior also shifts slightly—it will now sweep across the bottom of the arena, attempting to evade your attacks, while continuing to send whirlpools your way. These air pockets provide an opportunity to recover and plan your next move. However, Vocavor’s increased evasiveness means you’ll need to adapt your strategy.
This phase demands precision and timing. Your objective remains the same: destroy the blue shield on its back to expose its weak point. If your water-based Echoes like Bombfish or Chompfin aren’t as effective in this phase due to Vocavor’s movements, consider using flying Echoes if you’ve unlocked them. Alternatively, take a calculated risk by swimming close and switching to Swordfighter Form to deliver direct blows to the shield. Once you destroy the shield, Vocavor will collapse again, giving you another window to attack its exposed weak point.
Repeat the process a second time during Phase 2, and Vocavor will be defeated. Your victory is rewarded with a Heart Container to increase your health, 5 Might Crystals, and a level-up for Tri, reducing the cost of certain Echoes and enhancing your summoning capabilities.
With Vocavor defeated and the Jabul Ruins cleared, the waters of the region will return to normal, allowing you to continue your journey. Depending on your progress, your next destination might be the Gerudo Desert to tackle the rift there. If you’ve already resolved the desert’s challenges, it’s time to head back to Hyrule Castle Town to advance the quest to save the king. Make sure to explore and collect any remaining Echoes, treasures, or Heart Pieces before moving forward, as the challenges ahead will only grow more intense.
Still Missing Main Quest
Hyrule Castle Town
Once you’ve completed both the Gerudo Sanctum and Jabul Ruins dungeons, your path will lead you back toward Hyrule Castle Town to advance the Still Missing Main Quest. With General Wright rescued, you’ll be instructed to visit Lueberry’s House. Open your map and warp to the Waypoint nearest to Lueberry’s location—it’s marked with a Sword symbol. Once there, head inside the house and speak with Lueberry, Wright, and Lefte. They’ll reveal that your next destination is Hyrule Castle Town, located far to the north.
The journey to Hyrule Castle Town is straightforward, as the path is well-marked and clear now that you’ve resolved the major threats in the Gerudo Desert and Jabul Waters. Before heading straight there, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore Hyrule Field. While parts of the field are still restricted until the king is saved, many areas are open to exploration. If you’re looking to strengthen Zelda, you can hunt for Heart Pieces, Might Crystals, and Stamps. You’ll find detailed locations for these treasures in various guides and maps, or simply wander to discover them yourself.
Additionally, you should consider a detour to Kakariko Village, located in the northwest part of the map. Activate the Waypoint there to make future trips easier, and stop by the Smoothie Shop to craft useful concoctions that will help in upcoming challenges. While you’re in Kakariko, you can also check out the Slumber Dojo if you’re curious about delaying your journey for a bit of side content or training.
When you’re ready to proceed, make your way to Hyrule Castle Town. As you approach, you’ll find chaos at the front gates. A massive rift has overtaken nearly the entire town, and it’s clear that something must be done. Tri will chime in as you search for the rift entrance, revealing that it lies beneath the town. To reach it, head to the northwest corner of Castle Town. Behind a house with a red roof, you’ll spot a well. Jump down into the well to find yourself in the underground. Look for a guard near the area—you’ll see the rift entrance just behind them. Dive into the rift to enter the Stilled Hyrule Castle Town Rift.
Inside the rift, the environment is fractured and eerie, with familiar locations twisted and scattered. Start by climbing the stairs ahead to emerge inside the guardhouse. From there, exit through the southern door to reach the exterior of the rift. Move to the right toward the item shop. You can enter the shop to fight some Echoes if you wish, but your main goal lies beyond. Walk behind the shop to find a building lying on its side. Carefully cross this structure and follow the broken path northward until you reach the fountain area.
At the fountain, you’ll encounter more enemies. Take your time to defeat them, using your most effective Echoes and abilities. Once the area is clear, continue heading north. You’ll soon come across a Waypoint—activate it to save your progress—and a nearby chest containing 7 Radiant Butter, a valuable Smoothie ingredient that can make Zelda glow, helping in darker areas. If you’re feeling adventurous, use your Echoes to climb to the top of the castle wall to the left. There’s another chest there containing 20 Rupees, a small but satisfying reward for your effort.
Next, head toward the river and swim upstream. This section requires careful use of your Echoes. Summon trees and Water Blocks to create climbing platforms, navigating the fractured landscape as you work your way higher. Keep climbing and moving forward until you finally reach the grand entrance of Hyrule Castle. This marks the beginning of your next dungeon, a pivotal location where the story will continue to unfold.
Take a moment to prepare before entering the castle. Restock your health, check your inventory for helpful items, and ensure you’re ready for the challenges ahead. Hyrule Castle will test your abilities and Echo mastery in ways you haven’t yet experienced, bringing you closer to the heart of the mysterious rift’s origins and the fate of the king. With everything in place, step through the entrance and let your adventure continue.
After the intense battles and puzzles of Hyrule Castle Dungeon, you’ll face the dungeon’s final boss in a climactic encounter that tests everything you’ve learned so far. Once you’ve triumphed, a surprise twist will unfold, leaving Zelda to awaken back in her bedroom. This marks a pivotal turning point in her journey, as new paths and opportunities open up across the land.
Begin by making your way to the throne room. There, after an emotional reunion with the king, Zelda will be presented with a brand-new outfit. This isn’t just a change in appearance; the new costume reflects her growth and determination. Be sure to check your wardrobe—if you’re a completionist, you’ll want to track down all of Zelda’s available outfits. If you need guidance, there are resources to help you discover every hidden costume in the game.
After your conversation with the king, you’ll receive a new and monumental objective: the Lands of the Goddesses Main Quest. This quest opens up three entirely new regions to explore, each with its own distinct challenges, lore, and treasures. Your choices include Eldin Volcano, a fiery and dangerous landscape filled with lava flows and molten caverns; the Hebra Mountains, a frozen wilderness where survival depends on preparation and cunning; and the Faron Wetlands, a lush, waterlogged region teeming with unique flora, fauna, and mysteries.
Before setting out, take some time to revisit Hyrule Castle Town, which has come alive with new activity after the resolution of the rift. Speak with the townsfolk to pick up several new side quests. Notable quests include A Curious Child, where you’ll assist a young villager fascinated by Echoes, One Soldier Too Many, which involves sorting out a miscommunication among the castle guards, and From the Heart, a heartfelt task with surprising rewards.
If you’re in the mood for more adventure, consider revisiting previously explored areas. The Gerudo Desert now offers additional content, including more Mango Rush challenges and new side quests in Gerudo Town. If you’ve been eager to face off against the mighty Lanmola, this is your chance to track it down in the desert sands.
Meanwhile, Jabul Waters has its own share of new activities, such as investigating the Wrecked Ship, a mysterious location rumored to hold valuable treasures and secrets. These areas not only provide exciting new challenges but also opportunities to gather resources, Echoes, and items that will be crucial as you venture into the next stage of your journey.
With the Lands of the Goddesses questline beckoning, you’re free to choose your path forward. Each region offers a unique flavor of adventure, so think about which setting excites you most. Are you ready to brave the scorching heat of Eldin Volcano, test your endurance in the icy heights of Hebra Mountains, or lose yourself in the verdant depths of Faron Wetlands? Whichever you choose, make sure to prepare thoroughly—stock up on smoothies, upgrade your Echoes, and equip accessories suited to the environment you’ll face.
With new challenges, new regions, and an expanding world, Zelda’s quest has reached a thrilling new phase. The path ahead is yours to carve, so step forward with courage and see where the journey takes you.
Boss: Echo Ganon
How To Defeat Echo Ganon: This isn’t the final boss, but it’s a significant challenge that demands careful strategy, preparation, and patience. With three distinct phases, each more difficult than the last, this encounter is a true test of everything you’ve learned so far.
Before stepping into the fight, make sure Zelda is well-equipped. Bring plenty of healing smoothies, particularly ones made with ingredients like Bubble Kelp for extra stamina or Floral Nectar for quick health restoration. Equip accessories that boost your defenses or elemental resistance, and make sure your best Echoes are ready to deploy. Don’t forget that Boulders are excellent for blocking Ganon’s fiery attacks, so keep that Echo in mind.
The battle begins with Phase 1, where Ganon combines some of the moves you saw during the prologue with new abilities designed to keep Zelda on her toes. One of his key attacks involves spinning his spear to create a fiery shield while launching fireballs. This move makes him temporarily difficult to approach, but you can either dodge around to his sides to land hits or place a Boulder to block the fire. Another new move involves Ganon spinning his spear in the center of the arena. This is your best opportunity to rush in and deal damage. Be aggressive but cautious—attack while the opening lasts, and retreat as soon as he teleports away. Use your fastest Echoes to chip away at his health, and don’t hesitate to switch to Swordfighter Form to unleash powerful combos. With persistence and careful timing, you’ll push Ganon into Phase 2.
In Phase 2, Ganon lets out a roar and teleports across the arena. His devastating fireball attack returns, and you’ll need to decide how to handle it. If you’re confident, switch to Swordfighter Form and reflect the fireball back at him to deal massive damage. Alternatively, you can dodge the fireball entirely and close the gap to strike at him directly. The rest of this phase involves a mix of his earlier moves, so continue your strategy of using Echoes and Swordfighter Form to capitalize on openings. Heal whenever necessary and keep your focus—it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
By the time you reach Phase 3, Ganon will throw everything he has at you. His charging move is back and faster than ever, making it critical to stay mobile and anticipate his attacks. He’ll also combine this with his previous moves, creating a relentless onslaught. At this point, precision and endurance are key. Use Echoes like Keese or Bombfish to distract and damage him from a distance, and summon Boulders to shield yourself from his fire-based attacks. Stay alert and watch for moments when he leaves himself vulnerable—these are your chances to strike with Swordfighter Form. While this phase may feel like it drags on, patience and persistence will eventually wear him down.
When you finally defeat Echo Ganon, you’ll be rewarded with a Heart Container, 5 Might Crystals, and a level-up for Tri, enhancing your summoning abilities and reducing the cost of Echoes. However, the victory is bittersweet. Link appears briefly, but he’s still captured, reminding you that there’s more work to be done.
After this intense battle, the story opens up with a brand-new Main Quest. You’ll have three more regions to explore—Eldin Volcano, Hebra Mountains, and Faron Wetlands—each with its own unique dungeon and challenges. Take some time to regroup, prepare, and plan your next move. The journey ahead is vast, but with your growing skills and arsenal of Echoes, you’re ready to face whatever comes next.
Eldin Volcano
The Rift on Eldin Volcano
The journey to Eldin Volcano begins with exploring the expansive Western Hyrule Field, a region rich in opportunities for preparation and treasure. As you traverse this area, you’ll encounter several points of interest, each offering valuable resources to ready yourself for the challenges ahead.
Starting west of the Hyrule Ranch, where you may have already undertaken the quest to rescue Zelda’s horse, your exploration will lead you through a series of rewarding discoveries. One of the first stops should be a small cave full of Moblins guarding a Treasure Chest containing 3 Might Crystals. Keep heading west, and you’ll notice a patch of grass shaped like an arrow. Pay close attention here—cut down the bush it points to for another Might Crystal.
Continuing along the western edge, you’ll come across an NPC running the Acorn Collecting minigame near a Waypoint. You’ll have one minute to gather 16 Acorns while dodging bouncing Mini Moldorms. Complete the challenge in half the time, and you’ll earn a Steel Trap, a vital component for Dampe’s Automatons. Be sure to defeat at least one Mini Moldorm during this activity to collect its Echo.
To the east of this Waypoint, a large lake teeming with Octoroks awaits exploration. In the center of the water, a Piece of Heart rests on a tall stone column. You’ll need to use Old Beds to create a staircase up the smaller pillars and reach your prize.
If you venture south of Kakariko Village, the ridges and valleys here are crawling with Tektites, but it’s worth braving the hordes to claim a Treasure Chest on the east side containing a Monster Stone. On the northwest edge, a raised platform with a circle of stones hides another Might Crystal, and just to the west, a Moblin Camp guards a Treasure Chest holding 10 Electro Apples.
Further exploration near Kakariko reveals more treasures. A high platform to the northwest contains a chest with 20 Rupees, while a giant boulder in a ditch conceals a Piece of Heart underneath. Use Bind and platforms to lift the boulder and claim your reward. Nearby, you’ll find a Stamp on a high ledge and another Might Crystal hidden beneath a stone on a higher ridge. There’s also a small cave blocked by boulders that holds yet another Piece of Heart—summon a Holmill at a patch of dirt outside the cave to dig a hole and drop in to grab it.
To the east of Kakariko Village, you’ll encounter another Acorn Hunting minigame. Collect 11 Acorns in 40 seconds to win a Piece of Heart. Nearby, a long cave offers another Piece of Heart at its top. Use Holmill to create a hole above the cave entrance and drop down to retrieve it.
In the southern fields, beware of Ropes and Moblins lurking around a chest containing 20 Rupees. Moving east, you’ll find ruins occupied by Caromadillos and a buried Treasure Chest with 5 Rocktatoes. A nearby staircase leads down to the Royal Family Shortcut from the Prologue, where a Might Crystal awaits.
As you circle back toward Hyrule Ranch, a recessed area filled with Ignizol hides another Might Crystal under a single bush. This marks the perfect conclusion to your preparations in Western Hyrule Field.
Once ready, make your way to Kakariko Village, where the townsfolk and soldiers will reveal that a large rift has swallowed the Gorons of Eldin Volcano. Spend time exploring the village, beginning with a Stamp for the Stamp Rally by the entrance. Visit the Business Scrub to stock up on smoothies, and assist a distressed woman with the Cuccos on the Loose quest to earn a Fairy Bottle. An old man seeking his lost cat introduces you to a quirky quest requiring Cat Clothes to communicate with local felines.
Uncover more secrets by using Bind on the well in the center of town to reveal a Treasure Chest containing 3 Refreshing Grapes, and summon a Holmill near the graveyard to dig up another Might Crystal. Visit the Kakariko Village Shop to stock up on items and seriously consider purchasing the Climbing Band accessory for 500 Rupees—it’ll make your ascent up Eldin Volcano significantly easier.
Finally, challenge yourself at the Slumber Dojo on the left side of town. Completing its time-based trials rewards a range of valuable items, including a Piece of Heart, the First Mastery Accessory to reduce Swordfighter energy consumption, and the Heirloom Katana, which may become useful for Dampe’s inventions.
With your preparations complete, it’s time to set your sights on the Eldin Volcano Trail, a path that promises new adventures, dangers, and rewards as you ascend toward the fiery peaks.
The journey to Eldin Volcano begins with navigating the Eldin Volcano Trail, a treacherous path filled with dangers, puzzles, and valuable treasures. Make sure you’re prepared with plenty of fireproof smoothies and have equipped the Climbing Band accessory to make scaling the rocky terrain much easier. From Kakariko Village, head north to reach the start of this winding trail.
As you ascend, you’ll come across the Eldin Volcano Eastern Cave, which branches off to the right. Build a staircase up to the cliff, then keep an eye out for a cracked wall farther west. Use a Bombfish to blow it open, revealing a hidden cave with a Treasure Chest containing 6 Monster Fangs. The cave is also crawling with Mini Moldorms, small bouncing enemies that can be dealt with using fast-attacking monsters like the upgraded Caromadillo. If you haven’t yet collected their Echo, now is a great time to do so.
Continuing through the cave, you’ll encounter hordes of Beetles and several Beetle Mounds blocking the path. Use wide-sweeping Echoes like the Peahat or Mini-Moldorms to clear the way and destroy the mounds. At the far end, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing 5 Rocktatoes before exiting to a steep climbing section outside.
As you make your way up the climbing walls, you’ll face your first Torch Slug. These fiery enemies leave burning trails that make crossing difficult. Summon aerial Echoes to deal with them safely. At the far ledge, prepare for a fight against a group of Lizalfos. These agile monsters are skilled at evading slow-moving attacks, so focus on using fast-striking Echoes to take them down. Once defeated, grab the 3 Might Crystals from the Treasure Chest they were guarding and activate the nearby Waypoint.
The next area, Eldin Volcano Western Cave, requires you to explore a series of ledges and tunnels. Southwest of the Waypoint, you’ll find another cracked wall hiding a Treasure Chest containing the Fairy Flower Accessory, which increases your chances of encountering Fairies. Above the Waypoint, climb up to find another wall with a Torch Slug above it. Bind onto the slug when it’s in the right position, and it will carry you across the gap to a ledge holding a Piece of Heart.
As you continue along the trail, you’ll encounter steam vents blocking your path. Block the first vent with a Stone, but for the next two, which are over a gap, quickly place platforms and leap across before they burn away. Use Boulders to block subsequent vents and proceed to the next tunnel.
Inside this tunnel, you’ll face a new enemy, the Ghirro, a winged monster that generates powerful gusts of wind to knock you off ledges. If you’ve acquired the Gold Sash Accessory, you can resist these gusts. Use Bind to hold onto the Ghirro and glide through the air or propel yourself using its wind to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Look for a Treasure Chest containing a Monster Stone on a far ledge by using the Ghirro’s abilities.
At the tunnel’s exit, you’ll find yourself just below Goron City. Climb the walls while avoiding Torch Slugs, and look for another Treasure Chest with a Monster Stone on the right. Once you reach Goron City, activate the Waypoint and explore the area. The city’s interior is partially covered by a rift, and many Gorons, including their Chief, have gone missing. Dive straight into the Stilled Goron City Rift to begin the rescue mission.
Inside the rift, you’ll need to locate four groups of Tri’s friends to repair the damage. Start by climbing up to the top of the giant Goron pot, where you’ll find a new Echo, the Zirro. This variant of the Ghirro can drop bombs, which you’ll use to clear paths and obstacles. Inside the pot, use the Zirro’s bombs to destroy cracked blocks and free the first group of Tri’s friends.
For the second group, head left from the pot and cross floating slabs guarded by a Mini-Moldorm. Climb up from there, dodging bomb-dropping Zirros, and locate the third group on a table near a Goron cook. Finally, return to the climbable walls and create a staircase to reach a floating section above. Defeat another Zirro with flying Echoes and free the last group of Tri’s friends.
Repairing the rift will grant 2 Might Crystals and increase Tri’s power. The Gorons will be restored, including their Chief, Darston, who expresses hesitation about leading his people. After some encouragement, he reveals that the Elder Gorons were last seen at two locations: the Rock-Roast Quarry to the west and the Lizalfos Burrow to the east. It’s up to you to decide which site to investigate first as you continue your quest to save the Gorons and progress toward the Eldin Volcano’s peak.
Rock-Roast Quarry:
To reach the highest peaks of Eldin Volcano and complete the tasks at Rock-Roast Quarry, you’ll first want to make your way west from Goron City, past the Business Scrub’s Smoothie Shop. It’s a good idea to stock up on fire-proof smoothies here, as the path ahead will test your endurance against heat and fiery hazards. As you cross the small bridge heading west, you’ll immediately come under bombardment from a group of winged Zirros dropping bombs. These enemies can be pesky, so summoning your own aerial monsters, such as Peahats or Keese, can help take them down efficiently.
Before reaching the quarry, you’ll encounter a smaller, optional rift near some hot springs below. While not necessary for the main quest, this area might offer useful items and echoes if you choose to explore it. However, your focus should remain on the two main paths leading toward the quarry’s entrance.
The lower left path is particularly treacherous, winding through a lava field occupied by aggressive Lizalfos and a new type of Fire Octos that spit molten rocks at you from afar. Aerial monsters like Keese or flying attackers can be effective against them, but you’ll need to stay vigilant as their attacks are frequent and deadly. As you traverse this path, look for a Stamp on a small platform in the middle of a lava lake. You can create a bridge of Old Beds to safely reach the platform and collect the Stamp for your Stamp Rally.
At the entrance to the quarry, take a moment to activate the nearby Waypoint and learn the Lava Rock Echo. This echo is incredibly valuable in this region, as it allows you to create floating platforms on lava, a necessity for navigating the upcoming challenges. With your preparations complete, head into the Rock-Roast Quarry, where the real test begins.
Inside the quarry, Chief Darston will meet up with you, and you’ll discover Elder Gol and two other Gorons in dire straits, curled up and starving due to a lack of food. The solution to their hunger lies on the far side of the cavern, where the famous Rock Roast can be found. As Darston hurries off to investigate, follow him to the left and be prepared to encounter Tweelus, the sluggish but durable rock monsters that populate this area. While slow, Tweelus are quite resilient, especially in lava, where they can double as makeshift platforms for jumping. A sturdy Echo, such as the Ball and Chain Trooper, can make quick work of them if they block your path.
Navigate past the rift growing at the back of the cavern to reach the far corner, where Darston stands contemplating which Rock Roast to pick. While he deliberates, seize the opportunity to learn the Rock Roast Echo. This echo has an additional benefit—it can lure Tweelus in the same way food attracts Moblins. Nearby, you’ll find a group of Tweelus guarding a Treasure Chest on a raised platform. Inside, you’ll discover 5 Rocktatoes. Be cautious as you navigate this area, as the fiery tiles on the lower platform will cause damage if you stay on them too long. Utilize Tweelus as stepping stones to safely traverse these hazards.
Once you’ve dealt with the enemies and collected the Rock Roast, you can test summoning the Rock Roast Echo for the Gorons. While one of the Gorons will eagerly accept the conjured meal, Elder Gol won’t be satisfied with anything less than the real thing. This means you’ll need to physically carry an authentic Rock Roast all the way back to the group. Before attempting this, ensure you’ve cleared out all enemies in the cavern to avoid any unpleasant surprises while carrying the roast.
With the Rock Roast safely delivered to Elder Gol, Darston will arrive with the final portion of food, completing the meal for the starving Gorons. Despite their gratitude, Elder Gol remains uncertain about the location of a critical shortcut to proceed further. He suggests seeking guidance from the other elder, who can be found in the Lizalfos Burrow. With this new lead, your journey continues east toward the next challenge.
Lizalfos Burrow:
To begin your journey to the Eldin Volcano Crater, start by following the eastern pathway out of Goron City. This trail ascends steeply, so make sure you’re prepared with fire-resistant potions or smoothies. As you climb, keep an eye out for ledges below and to the east. On one of these ledges, you’ll find an air vent and a Treasure Chest containing two Might Crystals. Glide down using a Ghirro if you need to reach it safely.
Continue exploring along the cliffs, and you’ll find another ledge to the northeast, tucked around a corner. Use the Ghirro Echo to summon a gust of wind that will propel you to the narrow ledge. Here, you’ll discover a Stamp for the Stamp Rally. If you glide further to the southeast, there’s a hidden ledge with a stone that conceals another Might Crystal.
Back on the main path, the trail ascends to a lava-filled plateau. This area is littered with burning tiles, so tread carefully. You’ll encounter stone Tweelus here, which can be defeated using strong Echoes like the Ball and Chain Trooper. If you haven’t yet been to Rock-Roast Quarry, now is a good time to capture the Tweelus Echo.
On the left side of the plateau lies the main lava lake, marking the entrance to the Lizalfos Burrow. Activate the Waypoint near the entrance, but take some time to explore before heading inside. The slopes around the lake are dotted with enemies, including Fire Octos. These foes rain bombs from above, so take them out with ranged Echoes or your bow. Proceed up the slope to the northeast, being mindful of falling debris.
To the right of this slope, you’ll find a lavafall guarded by another Fire Octo. Behind the Octo is a Treasure Chest containing a Golden Egg. Summon a Platboom Echo to ride to the top of the lavafall and continue your exploration. Here, you’ll face a tough enemy: the Fire Wizzrobe. This magical foe teleports around the area, summoning waves of fire that move quickly. To defeat it, use a combination of flying monsters to distract it and ground-based attackers to deal damage. Aerial Echoes like Keese work well to draw its attention, while ranged monsters like Boarblins can attack from afar. Be prepared for a tough fight, as the Wizzrobe requires precise timing and strategic use of your Echoes.
Returning to the main lava lake, explore the right-hand side. Eliminate any bomb-spewing enemies you encounter and look for a small island with a Piece of Heart. You can reach it by summoning a Lava Rock as a platform or using a flying Echo to glide over. Along the upper ridge, you’ll find several Lava Rocks, one of which rests on a rising pillar of lava. Use Bind to move the rock onto an adjacent pillar and ride it up to a high ledge on the left.
On this ledge, you’ll face Shadow enemies emerging from a rift. Defeat them and continue southward past two Torch Slugs to find another Piece of Heart at the edge of the ridge. From here, jump down to enter the Lizalfos Burrow.
Inside the burrow, Chief Darston will rejoin you. You’ll find Elder Silv and another Goron, both paralyzed with fear at the sight of the monsters ahead. While Darston debates his next move, take the lead and enter the next room. Here, you’ll face Lizalfos. Use the environment to your advantage—lure them near Boulders to stun them when their weapons collide with the rocks. Defeat the pair and claim the Treasure Chest with 5 Rocktatoes before moving on.
In the following room, you’ll encounter two more Lizalfos in a chamber filled with burning tiles. Summon Tweelus Echoes, as they are immune to fire, or rely on smaller, faster monsters to match the agility of these foes. Capture their Echoes once defeated. Darston will catch up with you but quickly dash off, leaving you to handle the next wave of enemies, including fiery Keese. To counter them, summon Echoes that produce wind gusts to douse their flames and capture their Fire Keese Echo.
In the large cavern ahead, a horde of Shadow Lizalfos spawns from a nearby rift. Darston will assist by taking out a few, but you’ll need to finish the rest. Swordfighter Form is particularly effective here, allowing you to cut through the shadows and replenish your energy. Summon Tweelus to navigate the fire-filled arena safely.
Once the battle is won, report back to Elder Silv, only to learn that he, too, has no knowledge of the shortcut to the crater. Return to Goron City, where Darston will confront the elders. After some reflection, Darston realizes that the shortcut has been in front of him all along. Follow him to his room, where you’ll find a large portrait of his father. Use Tri’s Bind ability to pull on the screw to reveal the hidden path behind the portrait.
This secret tunnel leads directly to the Eldin Volcano Crater, the entrance to the rift, and the Eldin Temple Dungeon. Prepare yourself for the challenges ahead!
Eldin Temple Dungeon:
To begin your journey through the Crater Shortcut and into the heart of the Eldin Volcano, make sure you’re fully prepared with plenty of fire-proof smoothies and a solid strategy for managing lava. The area ahead is brimming with dangerous obstacles, and your mastery of Echoes will be critical for success.
As you enter the shortcut, Darston offers a bit of advice about borrowing wings. This is your cue to summon your Keese Echo or other flying monsters to help you float down to the far door in the first room. While Darston takes a different route, continue navigating upwards using flying Echoes to gain altitude between air vents. Glide up to the right side of the room to reach the higher ledge, but don’t rush—there’s plenty to explore along the way.
On this ledge, you’ll spot a Lava Rock. You can either grab it or summon its Echo to create a path across the lava below. Leap onto a lava pillar, place another Lava Rock higher up, and continue toward the next door. Before heading through, look to your right for a Treasure Chest. Build a makeshift stairway using Old Beds to gain enough height to jump over and claim your reward: a Monster Stone.
Moving forward, the next sub-level presents another set of challenges with more lava pillars. Start by summoning a Lava Rock and carefully position it to jump to the next platform. Lava Rocks are powerful but costly—at 4 Tri Points per summon, they aren’t always the most efficient. Consider alternatives like Tweelus monsters or even a Boulder to conserve power while maintaining safety.
As you progress, you’ll encounter a section filled with alternating lava pillars and gaps. Use Bind to pull Lava Rocks into place while summoning new ones strategically to create a path forward. For a hidden bonus, glide to the left from a higher platform when the lava pillar lowers. Here, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing 50 Rupees. Continue upward using the Lava Rocks to traverse the cavern.
At the end of the shortcut, a massive boulder blocks your path. Darston will step in, finally embracing his instincts over hesitation. With his help, the way forward will open, and you’ll activate a Waypoint near the rift. This is where Darston parts ways, leaving you to venture into the Stilled Eldin Volcano on your own.
Stilled Eldin Volcano
Inside the rift, time has frozen, affecting the flow of lava pillars. This change requires you to adjust your strategy for crossing gaps and reaching higher platforms. Start by summoning a Lava Rock to cross to the left and up toward the platforms heading north. Use Old Beds to bridge gaps as you ascend, taking care to watch for Fire Octos along the way. These enemies can be a real threat from a distance, so eliminate them with ranged Echoes or aerial monsters before moving further.
Once the Fire Octos are cleared, cross to the central island using a Lava Rock. While a Treasure Chest to the right might catch your eye, a lava pillar blocks the way. Instead, head left, where another Lava Rock awaits. Use Bind to pull it closer, creating a bridge to the northern islands.
On one of these islands, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing 5 Rocktatoes. Beware of Shadow enemies lurking nearby—they can ambush you if you’re not careful. After securing the chest, backtrack slightly and look for a floating island to the west. Build stairs using Echoes or use the Ghirro to glide across. Here, you’ll find another 50 Rupees in a chest.
Heading north, you’ll encounter tilted lava pillars that lead to a climbable rock wall. Creating a platform to reach the wall can be tricky. If you’re struggling, summon a Flying Tile for a boost, or reposition earlier Lava Rocks to forge a safe path. Once you’ve climbed the wall, summon a Fire Keese Echo to deal with the Mini-Moldorms blocking your path. Continue up to reach a series of high platforms and activate the next Waypoint.
From this point, you’ll have two paths to choose from. The upper path takes you through a lava lake filled with Fire Octos, while the lower path involves climbing rock walls patrolled by Torch Slugs. Both routes are challenging, so pick the one that aligns with your strengths. If you choose the lava lake, use ranged Echoes or the Ghirro to glide past obstacles. For the rock wall, summon strong Echoes to deal with the Torch Slugs efficiently.
The final stretch involves navigating through a complex series of air vents and tilted lava pillars. Use aerial monsters like the Ghirro for a significant boost, allowing you to glide over gaps and land safely on distant platforms. If your Echoes aren’t giving you enough lift, time your jumps carefully to maximize the effect of the vents.
At last, you’ll arrive at the Eldin Temple Entrance, marked by an imposing gate and the culmination of your journey through the crater. Prepare yourself for the trials ahead, as the dungeon promises to test every skill you’ve honed thus far. Save your progress, stock up on potions, and steel yourself for the challenges that await in the depths of the Eldin Temple.
Entering the Eldin Temple Dungeon, you’ll quickly notice this is no ordinary challenge. With a Waypoint conveniently placed next to a hot spring, it’s a perfect spot to heal and prepare yourself for the fiery gauntlet ahead. Remember to stock up on fire-resistant smoothies before diving in.
As you enter the first room, you’ll see fiery lava tiles scattered across the floor, which can quickly drain your health if you step on them. Use Echoes like the Fire Keese to neutralize the flying Fire Keese enemies, or stun them with wind-based Echoes for a safer approach. The locked door to your left requires a key, so for now, head north.
In the next room, Shadow Zirros will greet you with a barrage of bombs. Don’t panic—use their attacks to your advantage by letting their bombs detonate the cracked blocks around the room. In the top-right corner, you’ll find a buried Treasure Chest hidden beneath one of these blocks. Pull it out with Bind to discover 8 Twisted Pumpkins, a useful resource for crafting later. If you have Dampe’s automaton, this is a great time to test it out.
Moving into the room to the right, you’ll encounter a puzzle with lava pillars and a movable Lava Rock. Use Bind to position the Lava Rock on the left pillar, then hop onto it to reach the middle island. Place another Lava Rock on the far-right pillar and ride it up to the door above.
In the next area, air vents line the room, and you’ll need to summon the Ghirro Echo to glide between them. Use the vents strategically to reach the top-right corner, where a Treasure Chest holds the Small Key you’ll need to unlock the door in the first room.
Return to the first room and unlock the left door, leading to a massive lava-filled chamber. The lava periodically rises and falls, so timing is crucial. Start by waiting for the lava to recede, then dash to the lower-left platform and pull out a buried Treasure Chest to claim a Golden Egg. Be quick—lava doesn’t wait for anyone.
To progress, you’ll need to open the door on the far-right platform. Wait for the lava to ebb, then jump to the top-left platform and use Bind to move a Lava Rock from the left wall to reveal a button. Press it during the next lava cycle, then use the Lava Rocks to cross to the top-right door.
Sub-Level Lava Challenges
This next section ramps up the difficulty. Descend a ladder to find yourself at the edge of another lava lake with lava pillars leading to a raised platform. Use Bind to maneuver a Lava Rock into place beneath the pillars, then jump across. A Fire Octo guards the next section, so either rush past it or summon an Octo Echo to fight fire with fire.
Reaching the next doorway requires some ingenuity. A single Lava Rock likely won’t be enough to make the jump. Instead, summon two Boulders and stack them on the lava pillar. This setup provides a sturdy platform to climb up. Alternatively, summon a Strandtula to create a climbable rope, or use Old Beds to build a makeshift staircase.
Ascending to the next area, you’ll find hot air vents and multiple climbable walls. Start by blocking one vent with a Boulder to access a lower level. Here, the lava ebbs and flows, so plan your movements carefully. Use a Lava Rock to float above the lava while summoning a Fire Keese to clear a Torch Slug guarding a switch. Activating the switch opens a path to the right.
Summon Tweelus or another sturdy Echo to ride the lava back up to the upper level. Moving to the right, place a Lava Rock to cross another gap, avoiding a Torch Slug. In the alcove beyond, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing another Small Key. Retrace your steps to climb a wall between bursts of hot air vents, leading to the next challenge.
Miniboss: Shadow Link (Bombs)
Beyond a locked door, Shadow Link returns with a new weapon: bombs. The arena is fraught with cracked blocks and climbable walls, forcing you to stay mobile. Equip the Frog Ring to leap over blocks and dodge bomb explosions. Shadow Link will rain bombs from above, so summon a Zirro to counter with bombs of your own, or use fast winged Echoes to harass him.
As you close the distance, switch to Swordfighter Form and land a flurry of attacks before he teleports away. Be cautious of his upgraded bombs, which can transform into mobile bombchus that climb walls to chase you. Use the arena’s air vents to reach higher ground, and exploit any opportunity to strike while avoiding his explosives.
In the second phase, Shadow Link becomes even more aggressive, deploying multiple bombs in quick succession. Summon ranged Echoes like Boomerang Boarblins or Moblins to corner him while you maneuver around his traps. When he finally falls, you’ll be rewarded with the Bombs of Might, granting you the ability to place bombs in Swordfighter Form.
With your new bombs, head to the next area to destroy cracked blocks and eliminate obstacles like shadow webbing. In a pit filled with cracked blocks, destroy them to find a Treasure Chest with one Small Key. Another key lies beyond a puzzle involving throwing bombs onto a ledge—create a raised platform to reach the correct angle.
After unlocking the gates, descend into a fiery room with ladders leading past hostile enemies. Clear them out to ensure a safe return trip. At the bottom, open the Boss Chest to obtain the Big Key, but a sudden tremor will trigger rising lava. Equip the Climbing Band for faster ascents, and use a Ghirro Echo to glide past broken ladders.
To reach the Eldin Temple and face the final gauntlet of the dungeon, you’ll need patience, precision, and preparation. The room ahead is an enormous lava-filled expanse filled with hazards. Make sure you’re stocked on fire-proof smoothies and have your Frog Ring equipped for those crucial platforming sections.
As you step into the fiery chamber, summon a flying Echo and use the air vents to guide your path. Be cautious of the rising lava pillars—they appear on both sides, forcing you to stick to the center and time your movements carefully. After the second vent, veer to the right to find a safe landing spot where you’ll discover a pot containing a Fairy. Capture it in a bottle if you can, as it may save your life later. To continue, use Bind to place a Lava Rock on the nearby pillar to reach the upper ledge.
The next flying segment ramps up the difficulty with Fire Octos firing at you from various perches. Navigate carefully by flying to the right, avoiding lava pillars, and then swinging left near an Octo to hit another air vent. Follow this path to reach a third vent, and prepare for a tricky final stretch. The last row of lava pillars alternates, requiring you to weave through gaps as they appear. Using the Ghirro Echo here can make this section much easier with its speed boost. Land safely at the end, activate the Waypoint, and take a moment to ensure you’re fully healed and stocked up before entering the boss arena.
Boss Fight – Volvagia
Upon entering the arena in the Stilled World, you’ll encounter the fiery dragon Volvagia, a legendary foe whose agility and devastating attacks make this a challenging fight. The battlefield consists of floating platforms over a massive lava lake, with a few lava circles marking Volvagia’s possible positions. Equip the Frog Ring to improve your mobility and make leaping between platforms less treacherous.
Phase 1: Establishing Control
Volvagia begins by alternating between two primary attacks: summoning a giant green fire orb and spewing smaller fireballs. The green orb is particularly deadly, relentlessly homing in on you. To evade it, leap between platforms, keeping distance until it dissipates. The smaller fireballs, while less threatening, can still deal significant damage. Use rocky Echoes like Tweelus to block these projectiles while simultaneously attacking Volvagia.
Getting close to Volvagia is essential but risky. Summon fire-resistant Echoes like Tweelus to engage him directly, as they’re immune to fire damage. If Volvagia becomes overwhelmed by close-range attackers, he’ll retaliate by slamming his body into the ground and swinging it side-to-side. Keep your distance during these moments, and focus on ranged attacks.
The key to dealing significant damage lies in using Tri’s Bind on the glowing green orb around Volvagia’s neck. When he pauses to draw power from the orb, use Bind to pull it away, temporarily stunning him and preventing his powerful attacks. This is your chance to close in and unleash your Swordfighter Form or bomb attacks. Be quick, as Volvagia will recover and relocate to another position.
Phase 2: Increased Aggression
After taking enough damage, Volvagia enters his second phase, becoming more aggressive. He gains a new attack where he charges his breath and fires a beam at the main platform you’re standing on, turning it into a molten hazard. If you see him looking upward to prepare this move, leap to another platform immediately to avoid being caught in the lava blast.
In this phase, Volvagia changes positions more frequently, appearing in harder-to-reach spots. Use Lava Rocks or other Echoes to create platforms near him, and continue using Bind to yank his green orb whenever possible. Ranged attacks, such as bombs and arrows in Swordfighter Form, are invaluable when he’s too far to reach safely.
Stay vigilant, and focus on keeping the arena manageable by neutralizing hazards with your Echoes. Summon fire-resistant creatures to deal consistent damage while you prepare your next move. After a sustained effort, Volvagia will finally fall, and the rift will collapse, saving Tri’s trapped friends.
Post-Battle Rewards and Next Steps
Defeating Volvagia rewards you with a Heart Container, 5 Might Crystals, and a significant level-up for Tri, unlocking new abilities like summoning the Fire Wizzrobe if you haven’t reached that point yet. As the rift fades, the goddess Din will speak, granting you Din’s Sanction, one of three divine blessings needed to progress toward unlocking the path to Prime Energy.
After the Eldin Temple
Returning to Goron City, Zelda and Chief Darston are welcomed back with a grand celebration. The city is bustling with new opportunities:
- The Fireworks Artist – Help Basa collect Blastpowder Soil from the Rock-Roast Quarry to restart his firework business. Once complete, you’ll learn how to craft fireworks yourself, useful for future quests with Dampe.
- Goron Racing – A Goron outside the city will challenge you to a race to the summit. Use Echoes creatively to win 50 Rupees.
- Glider Training – A young Goron will set up a gliding course using air vents and Echoes. Complete it without touching the ground to earn Rock Salt.
- Advanced Glider Challenge – The young Goron’s older brother offers a tougher course with a reward of 2 Might Crystals for success.
- The Flames of Fortune – Assist Ondes in carrying burning charcoal down from the Eldin Volcano summit to Goron City. Ensure it stays lit to receive 2 more Might Crystals.
Additionally, with the rift gone, explore new areas around the Eldin Volcano summit, including hidden alcoves and Treasure Chests with Might Crystals and Rupees. Back in Hyrule Castle Town, return to Dampe with a firework to unlock three new automaton quests: Performance Artist, Endless Stomach, and Chop ’em in Two!
Lastly, visit Lueberry to upgrade your Swordfighter Form and energy reserves. With Din’s Sanction secured, your next destinations are the Holy Mount Lanayru in the north or the Faron Wetlands in the southeast. The journey continues!
Hebra Mountain
Rift on Holy Mount Lanayru
To begin the Rift on Holy Mount Lanayru Main Quest, you’ll need to prepare yourself for a frigid journey into the heart of Hebra’s icy peaks. From Hyrule Castle Town, head directly north toward Hebra, passing through the Eternal Forest and arriving at the entrance to the Northern Sanctuary. Look for a guard standing near a cluster of trees—just beyond him lies the Hebra Mountain Passage, a cave that serves as your gateway to the treacherous peaks ahead.
Before setting out, make sure you’re well-stocked with Chill-Proof Smoothies and Potions to counter the biting cold of Hebra Mountain. Smoothies like the Frost-Guard Special or Heat-Burst Blend will be lifesavers. Without proper preparation, the icy conditions will sap your health rapidly.
Hebra Mountain Passage
As you enter the passage, your first obstacle will be a tall wall that requires some ingenuity to scale. Summon Old Beds or Water Blocks to create a staircase, and keep your flying Echoes ready to deal with the swarm of Keese hovering above. Carefully climb to the right, using your Echoes to clear the way.
Once you’ve made it across, you’ll encounter a bombable wall. Use your Bombfish Echo to destroy it, either by tossing the Bombfish across or by constructing a bridge of Old Beds to get closer. Beyond the wall, the path continues upward via moving platforms. Ride the first one to ascend, then place a Bombfish on the second lift to destroy the blocks above. Before proceeding, look to the left—there’s a hidden wall you can bomb to uncover a stash of 9 Warm Peppers, useful for crafting more frost-resistant items.
In the next section, you’ll see a large rock resting atop some bombable blocks. Begin by climbing the wall on the left and defeating the Peahat buzzing about. From this vantage point, use a bomb to destroy the blocks holding the rock in place. With the rock now free, use Bind to pull it away, creating a clear path. Ride the lift up, destroy the remaining blocks, and exit the passage to step into the snowy expanse of Hebra Mountain.
Hebra Mountain
As you emerge into the frosty outdoors, the mountain’s relentless snowstorm greets you. Immediately drink a Chill-Proof Smoothie to shield yourself from the biting cold. Follow the trail south, carefully navigating the blustery winds and icy paths. Keep an eye out for valuable Echoes, including the Ice Keese, Snomaul, and Leever Echoes, which will be essential for the challenges ahead.
If you’re feeling adventurous, take a detour to the north. Amidst the storm, you’ll discover a cave with a Might Crystal resting above it. Further along the northern path, past a pack of Wolfos, lies a Smoothie Shop with a convenient Waypoint and a Side Quest.
Returning to the main trail, cross the broken bridge and loop around the cascading waterfall. On the other side, you’ll come across a man collapsed in the snow. This is Condé, a key figure for your time in Hebra. After speaking with him, he’ll lead you to his house for shelter. Examine everything in his cozy abode to calm the raging storm outside. Once the storm subsides, you’ll be able to leave and explore further.
The Cave Behind Condé’s House
To the right of Condé’s house is another cave. This one is filled with icy obstacles that can only be melted using fire-based Echoes. As you progress, make sure to pick up the Ice Block Echo, which will prove invaluable in the snowy terrain. Eventually, you’ll find Condé struggling to dig out a rift. He’s clearly determined, but it’s up to you to investigate further. Head left to grab the Snowball Echo, then proceed to the back of the cave to find a rift entrance.
Stilled Hebra Mountain Cave Rift
The rift traps five of Tri’s friends, scattered throughout the icy cavern. Your task is to locate and free them:
- From the entrance, head down and to the left. Melt the ice along your path to uncover the first energy mass encased in an icicle.
- Return to the entrance and go left again. At the center of the icy lake, melt another icicle to release the second energy mass.
- Head to the right and follow the icy path all the way to the end. Use climbing Echoes to scale the wall and reach the third energy mass.
- Back at the center, walk north and climb a wall of frozen trees. Near the top, melt another icicle to free the fourth energy mass.
- Climb even higher to the very top of the wall. Jump to the right to find the final energy mass.
With all five friends saved, you’ll receive 2 Might Crystals, and Tri’s power will grow stronger. The rift collapses, and you’re returned to the cave. Condé, ever the optimist, believes the problem is solved, but a new path has opened up to the north.
Climbing Hebra Mountain
Your ascent begins with a challenging side-on section. Climb the ladder to enter a room filled with ice, which you’ll need to melt to clear your path. Take your time exploring here; at the top, there’s a Treasure Chest containing a Monster Stone, but be cautious of rolling snowballs that can knock you off your footing. Once you’ve collected your loot, climb the ladder on the right to step back outside.
Activate the Waypoint in this area, then proceed to the right. Here, you’ll face an Ice Wizzrobe. Defeat it to acquire the Ice Wizzrobe Echo, which will be invaluable in freezing enemies or water later. Nearby, you’ll find a Treasure Chest buried in the snow containing 20 rupees—use Bind to pull it out. Above the Wizzrobe’s lake area, there’s also a Heart Piece, which is well worth grabbing before continuing.
Cross the lake and pick up another Heart Piece on the southern side. From this vantage point, use a Flying Tile Echo to leap across the chasm to a cliff on the opposite side. Explore the cave here to find the Ice Spikes Accessory and a Might Crystal. When ready, head northwest to enter another cave.
Navigating the Ice Caves
Inside the cave, use Old Beds or other platforming Echoes to ascend the slippery inclines. Be wary of a Zirro blowing icy winds across the floor—it can knock you off course, so either block the wind with objects or time your movements carefully. Continue heading north until you reach a room filled with ice blocks and Keese. Defeat the Keese to unlock the doors.
After unlocking the doors, head left and melt the ice to uncover 6 Monster Guts. Return to the previous room and head north. Here, you’ll encounter Freezards—defeat one to gain the Freezard Echo, which will prove helpful against icy foes. Go through the door on the left, climb the stairs, and prepare to avoid falling icicles. If the icicles are giving you trouble, use Bind to temporarily stop them.
On the far left, ride the platform up while dodging icy gusts. To block these gusts, position a Boulder in front of the vent. Use the charged ‘Y’ action to keep the Boulder in place if needed. Once at the top, climb the ladder and exit to the south.
Reaching the Summit
Back outside, you’re nearing the summit of Hebra Mountain. Head east to find the Hebra Mountain Passage Rift and the Stamp Stand Swallowed Side Quest, if you’re interested in a detour. Otherwise, proceed west along the winding paths. Watch out for snowballs and enemies along the way. On this route, you’ll come across the Moa Echo, which is great for aerial mobility, and a Heart Piece perched atop a tall pillar.
Keep following the path until you encounter Condé again. After a cutscene, touch the nearby Waypoint before heading north. You can detour west for a Treasure Chest with 50 rupees, but there’s not much else in that direction. Head east to find another cave and make your way inside.
Inside the Cave
In this cave, climb to the left, avoiding snowballs as they tumble down the slopes. If the snowballs are proving difficult to navigate, use Bind to stop them in their tracks or destroy them with projectiles. At the top left, you’ll find a Treasure Chest containing 4 Monster Fangs. Exit to the right.
The next room features a small watery area where you’ll find the Temper Tweelus Echo. After securing the Echo, head south to emerge at the summit of Hebra Mountain.
Stilled Hebra Mountain Rift
At the summit, you’ll learn that Condé’s brother has ventured north, ignoring his warnings. Conveniently, a rift has opened nearby. Enter the rift to begin another rescue mission.
Inside the rift, follow the cloudy paths north to a solid landmass. From here, hop onto the clouds to the left and capture the Cloud Echo, a vital tool for creating temporary platforms in midair. Use the Echo to explore the area:
- To the left, grab a Monster Stone from a nearby chest.
- To the north, use the Cloud Echo to navigate a series of gaps leading to a cave.
- Inside the cave, drop down to the left to find a Treasure Chest containing 3 Warm Peppers.
- Head right and drop down again to uncover another chest with 20 rupees.
Continue heading right to encounter Ice Slugs. Defeat one to collect the Ice Slug Echo. Climb to the top of the area to exit the cave and return outside.
The Final Climb
Outside, follow the clouds south and east until you reach a series of large landmasses. Climb up, melting ice as needed, until you reach a cave containing a Treasure Chest with 50 rupees. Along the way, you’ll also encounter Wolfos, which you should defeat to gain their Wolfos Echo.
With the icy obstacles cleared and the path behind you, continue your ascent to finally reach flat, solid ground once more. You’re now at the entrance to the Lanayru Temple Dungeon, ready to tackle the challenges within. Prepare yourself for even greater trials ahead.
Lanayru Temple Dungeon
Lanayru Temple is a true test of your mastery over the elements, blending fire and ice puzzles into a dungeon filled with clever mechanics and formidable challenges. If you’ve already braved Eldin Temple, you’ll have an edge with some fire-based Echoes, but even if this is your first elemental dungeon, don’t worry—you’ll learn everything you need as you progress. Let’s dive in and tackle this icy labyrinth step by step.
Entering the Lanayru Temple
As you step inside, you’re immediately greeted by a mural painted by Condé’s brother. The imagery hints at the dangers ahead, including a monster that might not be what it seems. Activate the Waypoint just past the entrance to prepare for the descent into the temple.
Lanayru Temple – 1F: Fire and Ice Interplay
From the Waypoint, head left into the first room. Here, you’ll encounter a group of Ice Octos. They spit icy projectiles, but their slow movement makes them easy targets. Use your sword or ranged Echoes to take them out. Defeating them rewards you with a Treasure Chest containing 5 Rock Salt—a useful ingredient for Smoothies.
Exit the room and go right. You’ll find a pedestal by the door and a glowing fire orb in the far-right corner. Use Beds or Cloud Echoes to create a bridge across the water, then use Bind to pick up the fire orb. Carry it carefully back to the pedestal and place it on top. The heat from the orb melts the ice in the central room, revealing a set of stairs leading downward.
Descending to B1: Navigating Ice and Wind
The side-on section is straightforward but introduces some mechanical challenges. Defeat the small monsters in your path, and make sure to grab the 3 Monster Fangs from the chest on the far right before descending further.
When you reach B1, you’ll find yourself in a room filled with gusting icy winds. These can push you back and make traversal tricky. Use Boulders to block the wind at key points as you make your way to the door on the left. Be sure to deal with the Ice Keese along the way—they’re weak but can be a nuisance if left unchecked.
Puzzle Rooms and Orb Management
The next room is dominated by frozen terrain and a large fan. For now, your path is limited to the left. Block the gusts of wind using Boulders or an Ice Block, and head through the northern door.
In this room, you’ll spot a flame orb locked behind iron bars. Use Bind to pull it out. Before taking it anywhere, block the ice geyser on the ground with another Boulder or an Ice Block—if the geyser touches the flame orb, it’ll transform into an ice orb.
Carry the flame orb to the pedestal in this room and place it on top. The heat melts a patch of ice in the room you just came from. Return to that room and dive into the now-thawed water to retrieve a Small Key from the depths.
Freezing the Path Forward
With the key in hand, it’s time to utilize the elemental interplay. Go back to the room with the iron bars, retrieve the flame orb, and deliberately expose it to the icy wind to turn it into an ice orb. Place the ice orb on the pedestal, re-freezing parts of the room. This creates frozen platforms that you can now traverse.
On the right side of the room, block the icy wind blasts using a Boulder or another raised Echo. You might need to summon a platform to stand on for better positioning. Once the wind is neutralized, climb up and use the Small Key to unlock the door.
Side-On Room: Icicles and Ice Blasts
In the next section, you’ll face another side-on perspective with a unique mechanic: icicles. Use Bind to grab an icicle, and carefully carry it with you as you descend. These icicles are crucial for blocking icy wind blasts along the way. If you lose one, you can always grab another nearby. With strategic placement, you’ll make it to the far end of the room and descend to the next floor.
At this point, you’ve conquered the first major sections of Lanayru Temple. The puzzles have taught you to manipulate fire and ice in tandem, laying the groundwork for the challenges yet to come.
Lanayru Temple – B2: Fire and Ice in Harmony
This section begins in a three-dimensional room filled with icy geysers and large gaps. You have two main approaches here: you can either carefully block the icy blasts with Boulders and make precise jumps across the platforms or completely bypass the obstacles using your trusty Cloud Echoes. Either method works, but don’t forget to climb to the very top of the room to grab a Treasure Chest containing a Golden Egg. Afterward, head to the right and exit through the door.
Navigating the Icy Divide
In the next large room, you’ll find yourself on the left side, separated from the right by an imposing icy wall. To proceed, focus on the top-right corner, where an ice block conceals a hidden staircase. Melt the ice using any fire-based Echo or orb, then descend the staircase.
At the bottom of the room, you’ll spot a fire orb. Bind it carefully, avoiding the icy blasts around you. If the icy geysers touch the fire orb, it’ll turn into an ice orb, which is not what you want here. Navigate the orb to the pedestal at the top of the room and place it. Doing so melts the ice blocking your path back in the previous room, granting access to the right-hand side.
Solving the Sliding Ice Block Puzzle
The room to the right introduces a clever puzzle requiring you to activate two switches simultaneously using ice blocks. Ice blocks slide straight until stopped, so the key here is to strategically position objects to control their movement.
Start by positioning a Boulder behind the switch on the right to act as a stopper. Place one ice block on the narrow path leading to the left switch. Then, either hover a second ice block over the right switch using Bind or step on the right switch yourself. Push the ice block toward the left switch and time your actions carefully to ensure both switches are activated at the same time. It may take a few tries to perfect the timing. Your reward for solving this tricky puzzle is a Small Key.
Use the Small Key to unlock the door on the left and proceed.
Tweelus Combat and the Dungeon Map
The next room locks you in with a group of Tweelus monsters. These slow-moving enemies are best dealt with using Bombs. Toss a few to clear the room efficiently, then open the chest that appears to claim the Dungeon Map.
Head left to activate a Waypoint, where you’ll also find a hot spring to heal up if needed. Once you’re ready, steel yourself and head through the door to face the miniboss.
Miniboss: Slime
Welcome to the Slime miniboss fight—a test of your ability to use elemental Echoes strategically. At first glance, this boss might seem invulnerable as it bounces around the room. The key to defeating it lies in freezing it.
Summon any ice-based Echo, such as an Ice Block or a Freezard, and drop it directly onto the Slime to freeze it in place. Once immobilized, switch to Swordfighter Form and attack aggressively. After taking enough damage, the Slime will split into smaller parts, continuing the cycle. Maintain the same strategy—freeze, attack, and repeat—until all pieces are defeated.
Lanayru Temple – Lighting the Braziers
After defeating the miniboss, climb down the ladder to a room filled with braziers. Some are already lit, while others need your intervention. Your goal is to light all of them.
For most braziers, you can simply use a Fire Keese or Ignazol to carry the flame. The top-right brazier, however, poses a unique challenge. Start by summoning an Ignazol, then Bind it and climb the wall on the left. Carefully guide the flame to the brazier and light it. Use Water Blocks to swim up if needed and block ice geysers that could interfere with your efforts.
The brazier at the bottom requires some clever maneuvering. Summon a Water Block and throw it near the base of the torch to prevent the icy geyser from extinguishing your fire source. Then, guide your Fire Keese to lock onto the brazier and light it from above.
Once all the braziers are lit, the door on the left will unlock. Pass through and climb up to find a chest containing 100 Rupees. After collecting your reward, descend the ladder to prepare for the next part of the dungeon.
Descending to the Depths
Start by heading down into the lower levels. To your right, you’ll notice a yellow switch surrounded by icicles and water, along with a slope leading to the Big Chest and another yellow switch below it. Take a moment to note these details — they’re part of the final puzzle — but for now, exit through the door leading south.
Navigating the Water-Filled Room
Ignore the ice orb room for now and proceed further south into a water-filled chamber. Head straight down, grab the chest with 3 Twisted Pumpkins, and exit through the southern door.
This leads you to a large room dominated by a frozen lake. Ignore the lake for now and go through the right door, then head north. You’ll find a fire orb here. Use Bind to carefully drag it across the room, avoiding hazards, and carry it all the way to the northern pedestal. Placing it here will melt the ice in this room and the one before it.
Unfreezing and Exploring
Return to the now-melted lake room and swim across to the other side. Here, you’ll find a chest containing a Monster Stone. While crossing the lake, make sure to deal with any Tektites, and don’t forget to capture the Tektite Lv. 2 Echo if you haven’t already.
At the bottom of the lake, place a Boulder on the blue switch to unlock the door on the left. Go through this door and then proceed into the northwest corner to enter another room.
Freezing the Water
In this new area, you’ll need to freeze the water. Start by blocking the fire vent on the left with a Boulder — hold ‘Y’ to lock it in place. Then, Bind the ice orb and drag it across the room. The orb will switch between fire and ice as it interacts with the environment, but don’t worry — just focus on placing it on the pedestal. This will freeze the water, allowing you to proceed.
Return to the previous room and prepare for another dual-switch puzzle. To solve this, you can push an ice block onto one switch and place another object or enemy on the second switch. Time your movements to press both switches simultaneously, opening the path forward.
Battling the Wolfos
In the next room, you’ll face off against Wolfos and White Wolfos. These enemies are swift and can deal significant damage, so approach cautiously. Use ranged or fast-moving Echoes to weaken them, and once defeated, be sure to capture the Wolfos Echo and White Wolfos Echo. Exit through the north door once the room is clear.
Orb Maneuvering and Puzzle Solving
This next area requires precision. First, defeat all enemies in the room to make maneuvering easier. Your goal is to carry a fire orb to the southeast corner of the room. Use Bind to carefully move the orb while melting ice along the way.
Once you’ve cleared the ice, go back to the icy room near the Big Chest. Place the ice orb on the pedestal to freeze the water. Next, light the torch using a Fire Keese or another fire-based Echo, then swap the ice orb for a fire orb to melt the stalactites. Finally, replace the fire orb with another ice orb to re-freeze the room.
Now, press the yellow switch to trigger a snowball. It will roll towards the larger switch, lowering the bars and granting access to the Big Chest, which contains the Big Key.
Before you leave, climb up the vent on the right to collect 50 rupees as a reward for your hard work.
The Boss Awaits
With the Big Key in hand, descend the stairs on the right and activate the Waypoint. Take this opportunity to save your game and ensure you’re stocked up on healing items — you’re about to face the Lanayru Temple Boss.
After the Lanayru Temple
Once you’ve triumphed over the boss, you’ll be treated to a series of cutscenes that tie up the events of the temple. You’ll return to Hebra Mountain, where Condé will greet you with relief and gratitude. With the immediate danger resolved, take a moment to breathe — you’ve earned it!
Post-Temple Activities
Before moving on, consider tackling a few side quests on Hebra Mountain:
- Snowball Magic: Visit Condé’s house to start this quest, which rewards you with a Heart Piece.
- Explore nearby caves and hidden paths for additional Might Crystals and treasure.
Your next destination depends on your progress so far. You might head to Eldin Volcano or the Faron Wetlands to continue your adventure. Alternatively, if you’ve already cleared these areas, it may be time to prepare for the game’s climactic final quests. The choice is yours — the journey continues!
Boss: Skorchill
Facing Skorchill in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is an intense and dynamic boss fight that requires clever use of fire and ice Echoes to break through its defenses. With three distinct phases, this battle tests your ability to adapt to changing patterns while managing both offensive and defensive strategies. Let me guide you step by step through the encounter.
Preparing for the Battle
Before you step into the arena, make sure you’re equipped with Chill-Proof and Burn-Proof Smoothies. These will help mitigate the damage from Skorchill’s elemental attacks. If you managed to grab the Ice Spikes accessory during your climb up Hebra Mountain, equip those now for extra resistance. Your focus will be on summoning effective Echoes and seizing opportunities to attack using Swordfighter Form.
Phase 1: Breaking the Ice
As the fight begins, you’ll notice Skorchill wearing an ice helmet, rendering it invulnerable to direct attacks. Your goal here is to shatter the helmet using fire-based Echoes. If you have access to Wizzrobes, they’re incredibly effective, but even Fire Keese can get the job done. Summon them and let them target the helmet while you keep your distance.
Skorchill will use a few signature moves during this phase:
- Icicle Drop: Skorchill stomps the ground, causing icicles to rain down from above. Keep moving to avoid these hazards.
- Ground Slam: When it slams its fists down, this is a great opportunity for your Echoes to land clean hits on the helmet.
Stay mobile and patient, allowing your fire-based Echoes to do most of the work. Once the ice helmet is shattered, move in with your Swordfighter Form to deal heavy damage. Repeat this process until Skorchill transitions to the next phase.
Phase 2: Playing with Fire
In the second phase, Skorchill swaps its ice helmet for a fire-elemental helmet, changing the strategy. Now, you’ll need to rely on ice-based Echoes to break through its defenses. Summon Echoes like the Freezard or Ice Keese to counter the fire helmet’s energy.
Skorchill will introduce a new move during this phase:
- Fireball Spin: The boss spits fireballs in a wide circle around the arena. Watch for the pattern and dodge between the gaps to avoid getting hit.
The Ground Slam attack remains in its arsenal, and it’s still a perfect opening for your Echoes to strike the helmet. Once the helmet is broken, unleash your Swordfighter Form to deal damage. Stay focused, as the next phase will demand even more attention to detail.
Phase 3: Elemental Chaos
The final phase sees Skorchill donning a mixed-element helmet that alternates between fire and ice. You’ll need to carefully observe the color of the horns on its helmet to determine which Echoes to use:
- Blue horns: Use fire-based Echoes to counter the ice element.
- Red horns: Use ice-based Echoes to counter the fire element.
All of Skorchill’s previous attacks return in this phase, including the Icicle Drop, Ground Slam, and Fireball Spin. These moves now come in faster sequences, so staying mobile is key. When the helmet matches the horns’ element, summon the appropriate Echoes to break it, then charge in for damage.
The cycle of stunning Skorchill and attacking continues until you’ve finally worn it down.
Victory and Rewards
Once Skorchill is defeated, you’ll be rewarded with:
- A Heart Container to increase your health.
- 5 Might Crystals for enhancing Tri’s abilities.
- A level-up for Tri, further improving your Echo-summoning capacity.
Additionally, a cutscene will provide you with crucial lore about Hyrule and grant you Lanayru’s Sanction, a vital piece for advancing the main storyline.
After the Fight
With Skorchill defeated, you’ll find yourself back at Condé’s house, where a new Side Quest awaits. If you haven’t already, take a moment to visit the Snowball Path to meet Stamp Guy near a rift.
From here, your journey can take multiple paths:
- If you haven’t explored Eldin Volcano or the Faron Wetlands, one of these regions should be your next destination.
- If you’ve already conquered these areas, it’s time to prepare for the next stage of your adventure: the mysterious Eternal Forest and the climactic chapters of Echoes of Wisdom.
Good luck, hero, and may your courage guide you through the challenges ahead!
Faron Wetlands
A Rift in the Faron Wetlands Main Quest
Reaching the Faron Wetlands
The journey begins southeast of Hyrule in the Faron Wetlands, but to get there, you need to climb the waterfall in the southeastern part of Lake Hylia. If you haven’t already, take a moment to explore Lake Hylia itself. It’s brimming with treasures:
- Visit the Fairy Shrine at the lake’s center for some useful blessings.
- Collect Might Crystals scattered throughout the water.
- Snag a Stamp tucked into one of the lake’s corners.
To climb the waterfall, summon Water Blocks or use Beds to create a path. Once you’re at the top, head to the right, and you’ll soon find yourself stepping into the dense jungle of the Faron Wetlands.
Discovering the Rift and Heading to Scrubton
The jungle is alive with activity, and your goal is to figure out what’s going on. As you walk east, be sure to grab these important Echoes along the way:
- Drippitune Echo: Excellent for navigating water-heavy areas.
- Hoarder Echo: Useful for dealing with specific puzzles.
- Hydrozol Echo: Vital for a later quest called A Curious Child.
As you venture deeper, you might notice Deku Scrubs hiding in the ground. If you pluck one out, they’ll give you cryptic hints about the jungle’s mysteries.
Continue east toward the massive rift looming over the large temple in the heart of the jungle, known as The Sweet Spot. Unfortunately, entry is restricted to members only. To gain access, you’ll need to head south to Scrubton, a village of Deku Scrubs.
Exploring Scrubton
Scrubton is a quirky village built around the Scrubs’ obsession with spiderweb cotton candy. It’s a hub of commerce, with smoothies giving way to their new sugary obsession. Talk to the locals to learn more about the Sweet Spot membership. Eventually, you’ll learn that someone at Heart Lake holds the key to your entry.
Before you leave, be sure to:
- Open the chest in Scrubton for some Radiant Butter.
- Stock up on supplies for the journey ahead.
Journey to Heart Lake
Heart Lake is located in the southwest corner of the Faron Wetlands. On your way, grab new Echoes and treasures:
- Giant Goponga Flower Echo and Piranha Echo from the water.
- Visit a cave with an Armos Echo, a Lizalfos Lv. 3 Echo, and a chest containing 50 rupees. These are worth the slight detour.
Be prepared for Lizalfos along the grassy winding path to the lake. They’re formidable foes, but if you take them out, your journey will be much smoother. Touch the Waypoint near the lake to save your progress.
Stilled Heart Lake Rift
At Heart Lake, you’ll find a pair of lovers separated by the rift. It’s up to you to save them by repairing the rift and rescuing Tri’s trapped friends. Here’s how to locate all five energy masses:
- North of the broken heart-shaped lake, burn a wall of grass and spiderwebs to uncover the first energy mass.
- Climb up the destroyed wall and burn the spiderweb on the floor to reveal the second energy mass.
- Below the lake, climb down a rock wall and burn another spiderweb to find the third energy mass.
- On the plateau to the left, dive into a pond. Use Zora’s Flippers to navigate the water, and destroy the block on the right to retrieve the fourth energy mass.
- In the same underwater area, swim to the Deku Baba, pull its head off, and look above it to collect the final energy mass.
While you’re in the rift, don’t forget to grab the Deku Baba Lv. 2 Echo—an exceptional combat tool. Once you’ve collected all the energy masses, Tri will level up slightly, and you’ll be rewarded with 2 Might Crystals.
Leaving the Rift and Next Steps
Back in the overworld, the reunited lovers reveal that they aren’t interested in giving up their Sweet Spot membership. However, they point you toward Blossu, who might be more cooperative.
With this lead, your next step is clear: track down Blossu and secure your membership to gain access to The Sweet Spot.
Finding Blossu
Start by warping back to Scrubton, the bustling village of Deku Scrubs. From there, head south, following the winding river until you spot a cave. This cave is your gateway to Blossu’s location.
Inside the cave, it’s a bit tricky. The area is filled with perilous gaps, but there’s treasure to reward your bravery:
- Light the torches scattered around the cave to illuminate your path.
- In one section, carefully navigate the gaps to claim a Heart Piece.
- Venture into the northern room to defeat a few enemies. Lighting the torches here will net you 50 rupees.
Afterward, return to the main area of the cave and take the southern exit.
Reaching Blossu
Once outside, climb the stairs to the east to activate a Waypoint. Near the Waypoint, you’ll encounter a group of Deku Scrubs. After some entertaining cutscenes that shed light on Blossu’s situation, you’ll finally get access to the rift.
Stilled Blossu’s House Rift
Inside Blossu’s House Rift, you’ll need to rescue five of Tri’s friends. Here’s how to find all the energy masses:
- First Energy Mass: Head north along the path and burn the spiderweb blocking your way to uncover the first energy.
- Second Energy Mass: Climb to the top of the rock wall and burn the spiderwebs covering a gap. Drop down to defeat the flower below, revealing another group of friends.
- Third Energy Mass: From the top of the rock wall, climb down a ladder and navigate through the cave. Defeat a lurking Deku Baba to expose the energy.
- Fourth Energy Mass: Keep moving deeper into the cave. Use a Bombfish Echo to destroy some rocks, revealing the next energy cluster.
- Final Energy Mass: Exit the cave and drop down to the left. You’ll find the last energy mass waiting in front of some trees.
After rescuing all five groups, Tri gains more experience, you earn 2 Might Crystals, and you’re promptly warped out of the rift.
Escaping the Deku Scrub Lockup
Oh no—Zelda’s in jail again! While this seems to be a recurring theme, the gameplay here shifts a bit since you temporarily lose your Tri Rod. However, you retain the ability to use Bind, which is key to escaping.
While in the Deku Scrub Lockup, be sure to:
- Explore thoroughly: You can uncover a Heart Piece and a Might Crystal during your escape.
- Use Bind creatively to move objects and manipulate your environment to find a way out.
Once you manage to escape, Blossu has a change of heart and grants you the coveted Sweet Spot Membership, finally giving you access to the temple in the north.
Stilled Faron Wetlands Rift
After some scenes at the temple, you’ll enter the Stilled Faron Wetlands Rift. Here’s your step-by-step guide through this area:
- Start by heading north. Use Bind to yank the heads off of Deku Babas along the way.
- If you explore to the left and up, you’ll find a chest with 20 rupees.
- Progress to the end of the northern path, then turn right. Along the way, grab the Electric Keese Echo and burn a spiderweb for a Golden Egg.
- Move left across the tree canopy toward some ruins. You’ll encounter a tightly packed group of enemies. Defeat them to:
- Collect the Goo Specter Echo.
- Open a chest with 4 Fresh Milk inside.
Follow the spiderweb bridges, heading steadily to the right. Eventually, you’ll come to a Waypoint. Activate it.
Unlocking the Cave
Near the Waypoint, summon a Drippitune Echo to extinguish all six torches simultaneously. This action opens up a hidden cave entrance. Inside the cave, climb to the top, but watch out for a Beamos along the way:
- To defeat and capture the Beamos Echo, wait until it turns to stone after being defeated, then blow it up.
At the top of the cave, you’ll encounter a puzzle. Use the Electric Keese Echo to charge all the crystals in the room. Be sure to use the ‘Y’ charge ability for precision. Once powered, the door will open, leading you outside.
Approaching the Faron Temple Dungeon
You’ll find yourself outside, face-to-face with a big chest—but don’t celebrate just yet. A giant plant snatches it up before you can claim your prize. You’re now right outside the Faron Temple Dungeon, and three entrances lie ahead, each leading to unique challenges.
Which entrance will you choose? Prepare yourself for the trials inside, as the Faron Temple is known for its intricate puzzles and challenging combat.
But… Ah, the Deku Scrub Lockup—what an unexpected twist! Poor Zelda, just trying to save the world, and now she’s stuck with a sticky stick and no Tri Rod. Let’s get you out of here and back on track to saving Faron. This section is all about stealth, clever use of Bind, and keeping a cool head. Here’s how to make your escape.
Breaking Out of the Cell
The first task is simple but satisfying: use Bind to snag the key sitting on the other side of your cell door. Just reach out, pull it toward you, and unlock the door. Freedom awaits! Well, sort of.
Navigating the Lockup
You’ll leave your cell and immediately face a sneaky challenge: stealth past some vigilant Deku Scrubs. Here’s a step-by-step guide to slip by unnoticed:
- The First Deku Scrub:
- You’ll see one Deku Scrub patrolling around a set of wooden boxes. Use Bind to slide the boxes into their path, creating obstacles that block their movement. Alternatively, time your movements carefully and creep behind the boxes while the Scrub is looking away.
- The Lookout Scrub:
- In the next section, a Deku Scrub alternates between looking left and right.
- You can hide behind a pot and sneak past, but a quicker option is to wait for them to look away. Sprint to the southern wall, take cover there, and dash to the left when the coast is clear.
- The Pair of Patrolling Scrubs:
- This part is a bit trickier. Two Deku Scrubs stand back-to-back, rotating to look in opposite cardinal directions.
- If you’re feeling bold, you can snag 20 rupees in the top-left corner by timing your dash when they’re both looking away.
- Otherwise, wait until one is looking up and the other is looking down, then sprint south. When they shift to looking left and right, slip to the left across the bottom wall to reach the staircase.
Exploring the Hidden Room
Now you’re in a room with two jail cells, decorative shrubs, and beds. It seems innocuous, but there’s a secret waiting here.
- Look carefully at the shrubs in the middle of the room. One of them is hiding a hidden door.
- Use Bind to move the middle shrub out of the way, revealing the passage.
- You can explore it now for some extra goodies, or leave it for later if you’re focused on escaping. Curious? Let’s take a quick peek inside.
Inside the Hidden Passage
If you decide to venture into the secret room, you’ll find some useful rewards. This area might contain:
- A Might Crystal tucked inside a chest.
- Additional rupees scattered around.
- A hidden mechanism that might help you on your way out.
Explore thoroughly, but keep in mind that your main goal is to reclaim your Tri Rod and escape.
Getting the Heart Piece
First off, let’s tackle that Heart Piece, shall we? There are two ways to get it:
- The “Hard” Way (No Tri Rod):
- You’ll need to create a makeshift staircase with the items in the room. Start by layering up the objects like this:
- Place a bed on the bottom.
- Add a shrub on top of the bed.
- Put another shrub next to the first one to create a platform.
- Add a table next to the second shrub, and place a torch on top of the table.
- Finally, put one more torch next to the space on the bed.
- Carefully climb up this precarious structure to reach your Heart Piece.
- You’ll need to create a makeshift staircase with the items in the room. Start by layering up the objects like this:
- The Easy Way (With Tri Rod):
- If you already have your Tri Rod, this becomes a breeze. Summon a Platboom, Clouds, or any other platforming Echoes you have to stack your way up to the Heart Piece.
Once you’ve snagged the Heart Piece, you can continue escaping.
Reaching Higher Ground Without the Tri Rod
If you don’t have your Tri Rod yet, you’ll need to get creative with Bind to navigate. Here’s how:
- Unlock the Right Door:
- Use Bind to move the stone bed. Hop onto it, then grab the other stone bed and move it down to create a staircase leading up.
- Use Furniture to Progress:
- Bind the table and carry it out of the cell.
- Combine it with torches on the right side of the room to make a small staircase.
- Hop up to the higher section and exit through the right-hand door.
Getting Your Tri Rod Back
Once you exit, you’ll finally get your Tri Rod back. It’s sticky—gross—but at least it’s functional again! Now you can summon monsters and Echoes to scare off the Deku Scrubs and progress more easily.
Navigating the Lockup
With your Tri Rod in hand, you can summon monsters to make the Deku Scrubs scatter. Keep moving forward, summoning Echoes as needed to clear a path. Eventually, you’ll reach a room with a well. Drop down into it to enter the final stretch of this escape.
Inside the Deku Scrub Lockup Well
The well is your final challenge before freedom, and it’s full of tricky currents, puzzles, and a hidden Might Crystal. Let’s get through it step by step.
- Clearing the Path:
- Start by using Boulders to weigh down the crates blocking your way.
- Swim down and Bind the next set of crates to move them out of the way. Emerge on the other side and defeat the Hydrozol waiting for you.
- Navigating the Air Bubbles:
- Drop into the water, and you’ll encounter strong air bubbles pushing a wooden box. To get through:
- Use Wooden Boxes to build a wall that blocks the bubbles.
- Alternatively, summon a Flying Tile from the patch of grass on the left to float across without being affected by the bubbles.
- Drop into the water, and you’ll encounter strong air bubbles pushing a wooden box. To get through:
- Dealing with Currents:
- In the section with strong currents, you have two options:
- Build a series of blocks to break the current and swim through.
- Ride a Flying Tile to bypass the current entirely.
- In the section with strong currents, you have two options:
Finding the Might Crystal
If you’re after the Might Crystal, here’s how to get it:
- Piranha Echo Method:
- Summon a Piranha Echo and Bind to it. The Piranha will ignore the current and swim straight to the top of the air bubbles. Once there, let go and quickly swim to grab the Might Crystal.
- Wooden Box Method:
- Bind a Wooden Box to the other side of the wall. As it floats up, it will pull you with it. Let go at the top and swim quickly to claim the Crystal.
After dealing with the air bubbles and currents, you’ll reach the exit of the well. Blossu will greet you upon escaping, finally granting you access to the Sweet Spot and the Stilled Faron Wetlands Rift.
Faron Temple
Entering the Faron Temple
You’ll notice right away that the main entrance is blocked. Activate the Waypoint outside for later use, then head to the left. Hop across the platforms and be sure to grab the Mothula Lv. 2 Echo while you’re at it. Keep following the path until you reach a ladder. This is your entry point to the dungeon’s upper levels.
Exploring 3F and 4F
Once inside, the side-on perspective will become familiar, with the first room introducing you to Strandtulas and Deku Babas. Use the Strandtula to create a rope to climb across the room and collect 10 Warm Peppers from a chest at the top. Afterward, head to the right to exit this room.
In the next room, you’ll encounter weight-sensitive platforms. Place two Boulders on the first platform to balance it, then walk across. Use a Strandtula to climb up and reach the ladder. You’ll emerge on the other side of some bars, where you can press a switch to unlock the main entrance of the dungeon.
Navigating the Beamos and Armos Room
Pass through the right-hand door to find yourself in a room filled with Beamos and Armos statues. Beamos will fire lasers, so take cover when needed and use Bind or bombs to destroy them. For Armos, wait for them to animate before defeating them with Echoes or your Swordfighter Form.
The Lightning Crystal Puzzle
The next room introduces moving platforms and lightning crystals. Use electric-based Echoes like Electric Keese to power up the crystals while navigating the platforms. Once all crystals are activated, a door in the top-left corner will open, leading to a chest containing the Dungeon Map. Don’t forget to hit the nearby switch before leaving.
Diving into the Water Area
Go down the ladder in the moving platform room to enter a water-filled section. Swim to the bottom where an Armos guards a chest containing 50 Rupees. Be prepared to deal with any underwater enemies using swift attacks or defensive Echoes.
The Dark Room Challenge
Return to the main hall and take the left door to enter a small room with grass and a Keese. Hidden behind the grass on the left side is a door leading to an extremely dark room. If you have a Glow Smoothie, now’s the time to drink it.
Activate the Waypoint on the far left for future convenience. From there, head northwest past a Deku Baba to find a ladder. Use the charged ‘Y’ to send two Boulders over the bars to press a switch on the other side. Climb the ladder to retrieve a Small Key at the top.
Finding the Second Small Key
Climb another ladder to emerge in a room with two Beamos statues. You’ll need a second Small Key to proceed further. Head south from this room, exiting the dungeon briefly. Follow the path to the right and move a statue to reveal a hidden door. Inside, you’ll find a puzzle involving three lightning switches. Use your Electric Keese Echo to activate them simultaneously, and you’ll be rewarded with a chest containing the Second Small Key.
Returning to the Main Hall
With both Small Keys in hand, head back to the main hall. Walk to the far end of the room and unlock the door at the back using one of your keys. This will lead you into a miniboss encounter.
Preparing for the Miniboss
Make sure you’re well-equipped before entering. Stock up on Smoothies to restore health or energy, and ensure your Echoes are ready for combat. The miniboss ahead will test your ability to manage both puzzles and enemies in tight quarters.
Miniboss: Diababa
Diababa is your first real challenge in this part of the dungeon, but don’t worry, I’ve got your back. When you enter the arena, you’ll notice that this plant-like creature has two intimidating heads. The trick here is to focus on one head at a time. Start by sending out your Echoes to distract and damage the beast. Use Bind on one of its heads to grab and pull it toward you, exposing the red section of its neck. This is its weak spot, so keep your Echoes attacking while you take the opportunity to land some solid hits yourself. Once you’ve dealt enough damage to one head, it will collapse, allowing you to rinse and repeat the strategy on the second head. It’s a straightforward fight but requires timing and patience. Once both heads are defeated, the plant retreats, leaving you to continue your adventure.
Exploring Faron Temple – 1F and 2F
With Diababa gone, you still need to find the Big Key to proceed. Head outside the dungeon and look for a hole in the water. Dive in, using your Zora’s Flippers, and you’ll emerge in a small pool back inside the temple. Activate the Waypoint here—it’s a handy checkpoint—and move to the left. In the next room, you’ll encounter two statues that hold the key to unlocking the door. You’ll need to synchronize their movements to hit the pressure plates at the same time. Either line up two Armos Echoes or use Bind to adjust the position of one of the stationary statues. Once they’re in place, the doors will unlock, granting you access to the northern path.
Revisiting the Dark Room
Returning to the dark room, head toward the waypoint to the north. After crossing the first body of water, turn right to find a locked door. Use a Small Key to open it and claim your reward: a Golden Egg. Now, warp back to the water room and exit the temple briefly. Look for a spiderweb on the wall outside; burn it to reveal another hidden entrance.
Solving Armos Switch Puzzles
Back inside, you’ll face another switch puzzle requiring the coordination of Armos Echoes. Repeat your earlier strategy to align their movements and activate the switches simultaneously. This will unlock the northern door, leading to a room filled with Baby Gohma and an Electric Wizzrobe. Take them down—use their Echoes if you haven’t already collected them—and move north into another dark room.
Here, activate the Waypoint and find the spiderweb in the southwest corner. Burn it and descend the ladder to a water-filled room. Equip your Zora’s Flippers to swim against the current and dodge the pesky Biri enemies. In the top-left corner of the room, there’s a chest with 50 rupees—make sure to grab it. Use Bind to move a statue blocking your path, and climb the next ladder into yet another dark area.
Powering Up Lightning Crystals
This room challenges you with lightning crystals scattered around. Use Electric Keese to charge them up, but be aware that one crystal is hidden behind a boulder. Move it with Bind, and activate the crystals to open the path forward.
Collecting Another Small Key
In the following room, you’ll find pressure pads and switches. Before dealing with them, head to the left and use Bind on the rotating door to reveal a chest with a Small Key. On the south side, the door leads back to the main dark room, creating a helpful shortcut.
Unlocking the Northern Path
Return to the pressure pad room and place an Armos on each switch. Time their movements carefully to ensure they step on the pads simultaneously. When the door to the north unlocks, head through it and activate the Waypoint there.
Discovering the Big Key
Now it’s time to locate the elusive Big Key. Warp to the east side of the dungeon, near the second dark room. Use spiderweb bridges to reach a ladder and climb down. You’ll encounter a pressure pad puzzle requiring boulders to hold down switches, which lets you cross to the other side. Use a Strandtula Echo to navigate a locked door, leading to another Waypoint. Here, prepare yourself for a rematch with a familiar foe lurking ahead.
Miniboss: Four-Headed Diababa
When you encounter the Four-Headed Diababa in the Faron Temple, you’ll quickly realize this plant has doubled down on its defenses—and the stakes. With two additional heads and a more chaotic battlefield, this miniboss demands a focused strategy and careful resource management. Don’t worry, though; we’ll tackle this step by step to ensure you come out victorious.
Preparing for the Battle
Before stepping into the arena, make sure you’re well-stocked with healing Smoothies, especially those that can counter status effects. Equip any Echoes you’ve collected that deal reliable damage or provide mobility, and consider having Bombfish Echoes ready—they’ll be pivotal in this fight.
Phase One: Taking Down the Original Heads
The strategy begins similarly to your first encounter with Diababa. Focus on the two original heads first. Use Bind to grab one head, pull it down, and expose the glowing red weak point at its neck. As soon as the weak point is exposed, let your Echoes do the heavy lifting by dealing continuous damage. Repeat this process for the second head while keeping an eye on the other two heads, which will occasionally lunge at you or spit projectiles. Stay mobile to avoid these attacks.
Phase Two: Dealing with the New Heads
Now, things get trickier. The two new heads are immune to regular attacks, which means you’ll need a different approach. This is where the Bombfish Echoes come in. Summon a Bombfish near these heads; they’ll try to eat it, causing an explosion that momentarily stuns them and exposes their weak points. Once stunned, use your Echoes to target the red orbs on their necks.
Timing is crucial here. If you’re too slow to summon another Bombfish, the heads may recover and resume their attacks, making the battlefield even more chaotic. Be patient, but don’t hesitate to heal if the fight starts feeling overwhelming. It’s better to lose a few seconds than to risk a reset.
Staying in Control of the Chaos
The arena will feel alive with activity, as all four heads attack simultaneously at certain points. Keep at least one Echo active at all times to keep the pressure on, and focus on one head at a time to avoid spreading your damage too thin. Remember that staying mobile is key—roll, dodge, and use any terrain advantages to keep yourself safe from lunging attacks and poisonous projectiles.
The Final Push
Once all four heads are defeated, the Four-Headed Diababa will collapse in defeat, leaving behind the coveted Big Key. Take a moment to celebrate—you’ve just conquered one of the most chaotic fights in the Faron Temple.
Using the Big Key
Now that you have the Big Key, it’s time to head back to the boss room. Warp to the room’s Waypoint to save time, unlock the door, and step inside to face the Faron Temple Dungeon Boss. Trust me, this encounter is going to surprise you, but if you’re prepared, you’ll come out on top.
Boss: Gohma
The battle against Gohma is an classic Zelda challenge, but don’t worry—I’ll guide you through every step of this encounter. This fight involves strategy, precise timing, and effective use of your Echoes. Let’s dive into how to tackle each phase of this spider queen’s challenge.
Phase 1: Gohma on the Wall
The battle starts with Gohma perched high on the walls, with three glowing green crystals on her legs. These are your primary targets. To reach them, summon electric-based Echoes like the Electric Wizzrobe or Keese. These Echoes are perfect for zapping the crystals since you can lock onto them for precision.
As your Echoes attack the crystals, Gohma won’t just sit idly. She has three main moves in this phase:
- Baby Gohma Summon: She spawns small spiders that scuttle toward you. Deal with these quickly using ranged Echoes or a few well-timed Swordfighter slashes.
- Spiderweb Spit: Gohma shoots sticky webs around the arena. Use fire-based Echoes like the Fire Keese to burn them away before they hinder your movement.
- Laser Beam: A devastating attack that sweeps the ground. Dodge carefully and keep moving to avoid getting hit.
Once all three crystals are destroyed, Gohma will tumble from the wall, exposing her vulnerable eye. This is your cue to act—switch to Swordfighter Form and unleash your most powerful attacks directly on her eye. Get as many hits in as you can before she recovers and moves into the next phase.
Phase 2: Gohma on the Ground
In the second phase, Gohma abandons the wall and fights you on the arena floor. Her weak points remain the same—those three glowing crystals—but her moveset changes significantly. Here’s what to expect:
- Spin Attack: Gohma twirls, hitting everything close to her. Keep your distance to avoid taking damage.
- Swipe Attack: A quick claw swipe aimed at you. Dodge sideways when you see her preparing to strike.
- Forward Crawl: Gohma lunges forward, chasing you. Stay mobile and use rolls to evade her.
Your strategy here is to act as bait, drawing Gohma’s attention while your Echoes target the crystals. Keep summoning electric Echoes to chip away at her weak spots. Once all three crystals are destroyed again, she’ll collapse, giving you another opportunity to attack her exposed eye. Make every second count to maximize your damage.
Phase 3: Blending the First Two Phases
The final phase is a mix of the previous two. Gohma alternates between scaling the walls and fighting on the ground, keeping you on your toes. Her attacks from both phases are now in play, so you’ll need to adapt quickly depending on her position:
- When she’s on the wall, focus on summoning electric Echoes to hit her crystals as before.
- When she’s on the ground, use the same evasion tactics from Phase 2 to avoid her close-range attacks.
Speed is key in this phase. The faster you destroy the crystals, the less time you’ll spend dodging her attacks. Once the crystals are down, she’ll fall one last time, exposing her eye for a final flurry of Swordfighter attacks. Deliver the finishing blow to bring her reign to an end.
Rewards
Congratulations! Defeating Gohma rewards you with:
- A Heart Container to increase your health.
- 5 Might Crystals for upgrades.
- A level-up for Tri, enhancing your abilities.
- Farore’s Sanction, a blessing tied to the region’s lore.
After Completing the Faron Temple Dungeon
After the battle, you’ll return to The Sweet Spot, where the Deku Scrubs are finally free from their cotton-candy obsession. A wave of new Side Quests will now be available in the Faron Wetlands:
- Cotton-Candy Hunt: A quest that grants an upgrade to one of the game’s best accessories.
- Mobbing Mothulas: A straightforward quest that rewards a Might Crystal.
- Bempu’s Trouble: A fun quest worth checking out for its unique story, with a useful reward at the end.
If you haven’t completed the dungeons in Hebra Mountain or Eldin Volcano, now is a great time to tackle those rifts. Otherwise, your journey may take you back to Hyrule Castle, setting the stage for the final Main Quest and an unforgettable trip to The Eternal Forest.
The Eternal Forest
Unlocking The Eternal Forest
You can visit the Eternal Forest at any time, but to unlock its secrets, you must first complete the Main Quest: The Prime Energy and Null. This quest becomes available only after clearing the dungeons in Eldin Volcano, Lanayru Temple, and Faron Temple, obtaining Din’s Sanction, Nayru’s Sanction, and Farore’s Sanction.
Upon completing the three temples, you’ll discover that Null, the shadowy antagonist, has been manipulating events all along. Null creates an Echo of Zelda and steals the Goddess Sanctions. Zelda awakens in Hyrule Castle, where the King reveals Null’s goal: obtaining the Prime Energy, hidden deep within the Eternal Forest. With this knowledge, your next destination is clear.
Reaching the Eternal Forest
The Eternal Forest is located northwest of Hyrule Castle Town, near the Northern Sanctuary. If you’ve previously activated a Waypoint in this area, warp there for quick access. Otherwise, travel west from the Northern Sanctuary Waypoint and follow the path into the forest.
As you enter the Eternal Forest, the atmosphere changes dramatically, with thick fog enveloping the area. Follow the circular path north, navigating carefully until you reach a clearing where you’ll meet a captain and some guards. After a brief cutscene, examine the pedestal in the clearing. This action reveals a triangular puzzle and grants you the Ancient Orb Echo, which is key to solving the forest’s mysteries.
The Six Pedestals
Your task now is to find six pedestals scattered throughout the forest and place the Ancient Orb Echo on each one. The large stone tablet in the clearing provides a map-like hint, showing the triangular path you must follow. Here’s where to find the six pedestals:
- Starting Point: Place the orb on the pedestal directly in front of the stone tablet.
- Southwest Clearing: Head southwest to a Blue Sword Moblin’s location. The pedestal is nearby.
- Small Clearing: Continue southwest, passing through another clearing with a pedestal.
- Southern Forest: Search along the southern edge of the forest near some trees for the next pedestal.
- Southeast Corner: Head to the southeastern corner, where the pedestal is tucked between dense trees.
- Northwest Area: Move northwest to find a pedestal covered by a Deku Baba. Use Bind to remove it and place the orb.
Meeting the Deku Tree
Once all six pedestals are activated, return to the stone tablet. A hidden pathway opens, leading you north to the Deku Tree, the wise guardian of the Eternal Forest. After an enlightening conversation, the Deku Tree grants you access to the Ancient Ruins, where Null and Zelda’s Echo await.
The Stilled Ancient Ruins Rift
Inside the Ancient Ruins, Null plunges the world into chaos, creating a massive rift. Your companion Tri opens an entrance, and you must dive in to pursue Zelda’s Echo and stop Null.
Navigating the Rift
The rift is divided into sections, each inspired by regions of Hyrule. Here’s a detailed guide:
- Grassy Section (Hyrule Fields):
- Encounter Peahats and Moblins.
- Use Echoes like Strandtulas or Moblins to deal with these weaker enemies.
- Continue until you reach a split in the path.
- Branching Paths:
- Jabul Waters Area: Navigate water-filled zones with Biri and fish-like enemies. Use Water Blocks or Zora’s Flippers to progress.
- Gerudo Desert Area: Deal with sand piranhas and other desert-native enemies. Use platforms like Flying Tiles to avoid traps.
- Hebra Mountain Area:
- Melt icicles and defeat Freezards with fire-based Echoes or Bombfish.
- Block icy winds using Boulders to create safe paths.
- Faron Wetlands Area:
- Avoid electricity-based enemies like Buzz Blobs, which can electrify water pools.
- Use ranged Echoes to deal with enemies from a safe distance.
- Eldin Volcano Area:
- Utilize Lava Rocks and steam vents to cross pools of lava.
- Fight off Lizalfos, using fast and precise attacks to counter their mobility.
- Use flying Echoes like the Ghirro to navigate vertical sections and geysers.
As you near the end of the rift, use a flying Echo to reach a grassy platform. Stack objects or use Echoes like Strandtulas to climb to the plateau at the top. This area merges visual elements from all regions of Hyrule, a fitting prelude to the climactic encounter.
At the final Waypoint, prepare for a challenging boss fight. Equip your best items, heal up, and make sure your Echo roster is optimized. Ahead lies the battle against Zelda’s Echo, an intense test of your skills and strategies.
Echo Zelda, Rescuing the Hero Link (Stilled Ancient Ruins)
The battle against Echo Zelda, or Null Zelda, is one of the most intense and symbolic moments in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Preparation Before the Fight
Before heading into the battle, make sure you’re well-prepared:
- Smoothies and Potions: Stock up on energy-restoring items. You’ll need these to sustain your Echoes and Swordfighter Form.
- Echo Selection: Equip powerful Echoes like the Lynel for offense, and consider having flying Echoes like the Ghirro to support ranged attacks. Also, keep defensive Echoes like Tweelus in case you need a shield against mobs.
- Bow of Might: Ensure you’re comfortable using the Bow in your Swordfighter Form, as it will be your primary weapon against Echo Zelda.
Phase 1: Testing Your Resolve
The fight begins with Echo Zelda flying around the arena, summoning weaker Echoes to attack you. Here’s how to handle it:
- Dealing with Mobs:
- Echo Zelda will summon Octoroks, Moblins, and occasionally a Darknut. These enemies can overwhelm you if ignored, so summon your strongest Echoes, like the Lynel or Moblins, to engage them.
- If you have aerial Echoes like the Ghirro, they can simultaneously harass the boss while dealing with smaller mobs.
- Targeting Echo Zelda:
- While your Echoes handle the mobs, swap to Swordfighter Form and use your Bow of Might. Lock onto Echo Zelda as she flies and fire arrows whenever you have a clear shot.
- Keep moving to avoid incoming attacks from summoned mobs or projectiles.
- Stunning Echo Zelda:
- After sustained damage, Echo Zelda will fall to the ground, leaving her vulnerable. This is your chance to close in and deal massive damage with melee attacks in Swordfighter Form.
Once enough damage is dealt, Echo Zelda will transition to the next phase.
Phase 2: Increasing the Challenge
In the second phase, Echo Zelda raises the stakes by summoning stronger Echoes to fight alongside her. Here’s what to do:
- Managing Stronger Mobs:
- Expect to face tougher enemies like Re-Deads and more resilient Moblins. If you encounter a Darknut or similar high-level foe, prioritize them with targeted Echoes.
- Use ranged Echoes or Bombfish to control the battlefield and keep mobs from overwhelming you.
- Maintaining Focus on Echo Zelda:
- Continue to fire arrows at Echo Zelda while avoiding her attacks. Stay mobile and use cover where possible to dodge projectiles or close-range assaults.
- If energy runs low, use a Smoothie or Potion to recharge and keep your Echoes active.
- Stunning and Damaging:
- As in the first phase, Echo Zelda will eventually drop to the ground. Use this opportunity to switch back to melee and unleash Swordfighter Form attacks.
With persistence, you’ll push her into the final phase.
Phase 3: The True Test
The final phase combines the chaos of the first two phases with even more dangerous enemies. Echo Zelda will summon elite mobs like Lv. 3 Lizalfos. Here’s how to prevail:
- Prioritize Dangerous Enemies:
- Summon your own Lv. 3 Lizalfos or comparable Echoes to counter her summons. Use Bind to control the battlefield and reposition enemies if necessary.
- If mobs become overwhelming, create space by summoning defensive Echoes or using area-clearing attacks like Bombfish explosions.
- Maximizing Damage to Echo Zelda:
- By now, your strategy should be clear: keep the mobs busy with your Echoes and focus your Bow of Might on Echo Zelda whenever she’s airborne.
- Look for opportunities to attack her directly when she falls. Don’t hesitate to use all available resources during this phase.
- Staying Alive:
- Manage your health and energy carefully. Avoid unnecessary risks and heal as needed. This is the last stretch, so use everything you have.
After a final round of coordinated attacks, Echo Zelda will fall, marking the end of this epic confrontation.
Rescuing Link and Moving Forward
With Echo Zelda defeated, switch to Swordfighter Form and aim your Bow of Might at the crystal holding Link. Fire an arrow to shatter the prison and free the hero.
As the battle concludes, you’ll be rewarded with:
- A Heart Container to increase your health.
- 5 Might Crystals, essential for upgrading your Echoes.
- A level-up for Tri, further enhancing your abilities.
After the cutscenes, the stage is set for the final dungeon. You’ve proven your worth, saved Link, and reclaimed your identity. Now, it’s time to prepare for the ultimate showdown in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Null’s Body
The journey through Null’s Body in Echoes of Wisdom is the ultimate test of everything you’ve learned throughout the game. This final dungeon is not about treasure or elaborate puzzles; it’s a battle-focused, cooperative venture where Zelda and Link join forces to confront the source of all the chaos: Null.
Preparation Before Entering Null’s Body
Before diving into Null’s Body, this is your last chance to:
- Complete Side Quests: Tie up loose ends and earn powerful rewards.
- Collect Echoes: Ensure you have the strongest Echoes at your disposal.
- Equip Accessories: Optimize Zelda’s gear for maximum survivability and power.
- Stock Up on Smoothies: You’ll need plenty of energy-restoring items for the battle ahead.
Once you’re confident in your preparation, speak to Link at the end of the Stilled Ancient Ruins Rift. Agree to enter Null’s Body, but be aware—this is the point of no return. From here on, it’s just you, Link, and the challenges within.
Entering the Dungeon
Follow Link into the eerie interior of Null’s Body. Right from the start, you’ll face groups of enemies. Remember:
- Rely on Your Echoes: Since Swordfighter Form is no longer available, summon your strongest Echoes like Lynel or Bombfish to deal with mobs.
- Let Link Help: Although you can’t control him, Link will fight alongside you. Focus on summoning Echoes while he handles some of the pressure.
Clear the first couple of rooms by defeating all enemies to unlock the doors. Watch out for ambushes, as enemies will try to swarm you.
The Separation
In the third room, Link and Zelda will be separated. Link will take the left path, and you’ll need to handle the right. Here’s how to proceed:
- Crossing the Gap: Use Clouds to create a bridge and reach the other side.
- Clearing Enemies: Deal with foes in your section while keeping an eye on Link’s side. He’ll occasionally be frozen by enemies.
- Assist Link: Send Echoes through the bars to help Link clear his side of the room. Once both sides are free of enemies, the path forward will open.
Navigating the Moving Platforms
The next room features a puzzle with moving platforms. Follow these steps:
- Binding to Platforms: Use Bind to attach yourself to a moving platform, allowing it to carry you to the opposite side.
- Vertical Movement: In the lower section, Bind yourself to a platform above to pull yourself upward and continue progressing.
Keep your wits about you, as enemies may attempt to knock you off platforms.
Air Currents and Gustmasters
In the subsequent room, you’ll face Gustmasters and air currents:
- Dodging the Gusts: Use your Echoes to block or distract Gustmasters while you navigate the room.
- Riding the Currents: Summon a flying Echo and ride the air currents to ascend to higher platforms. Time your movements carefully to avoid falling.
The next couple of rooms are straightforward—clear enemies and proceed.
Reuniting with Link
You’ll eventually reach a room where Link is on the other side of a barred wall and unable to progress. Here’s what to do:
- Building a Staircase: Use items like boxes, beds, or other objects to create a makeshift staircase for Link to climb.
- Using Bind: If you’re short on objects, use Bind to help pull Link up to higher ledges.
- Cutting the Goo: Guide Link to the far right of the room, where he’ll cut through the black goo blocking the switch.
Once the switch is pressed, the barrier will lift, and you’ll reunite with Link. Together, you’ll proceed to the final section.
The Descent
You’ll arrive at a massive hole—your final destination. Before you jump in, take a moment to:
- Heal up and restore energy with Smoothies or Potions.
- Summon Echoes in preparation for battle.
- Ready yourself mentally for the final confrontation.
When you’re prepared, take the leap into the abyss to face the Final Boss of Echoes of Wisdom.
Tips for Success in Null’s Body
- Use Your Echoes Wisely: Balance offense and defense by summoning Echoes suited to each room’s challenges.
- Coordinate with Link: While you can’t control him, work alongside Link to manage enemies more effectively.
- Stay Mobile: Many areas are designed to test your agility, so keep moving to avoid being overwhelmed.
Final Boss: Null
Facing Null is the ultimate test of your skills, strategy, and endurance. This multi-phase battle is intense, requiring both precision and patience.
Preparation: Setting Yourself Up for Success
Before entering the fight, make sure you’re fully prepared. This is the point of no return, so you’ll want to:
- Equip the Best Accessories: Prioritize ones that boost your stamina, damage resistance, and attack power.
- Stock Up on Smoothies: Use Golden Eggs or Floral Nectar for the highest healing benefits.
- Summon Strong Echoes: Echoes like Lynel, Lizalfos Lv. 3, and Chompfin will be invaluable.
- Familiarize Yourself with Bind: You’ll use Bind heavily throughout the fight to pull Null’s limbs and expose its weak points.
Null Phase 1: The Armored Giant
Null’s first phase is all about its massive limbs. The arena is dominated by its large, clawed arms, which it uses to send shockwaves across the ground. Here’s how to handle it:
- Dodging Shockwaves: Null will slam a claw into the ground, sending a shockwave toward Zelda. Move to the side or run out of its path to avoid damage.
- Binding the Arms: After the shockwave stops, Bind one of Null’s claws. Pull at it to expose a weak point, allowing Link to rush in and attack. Repeat this process three times to break the arm completely.
- Dealing Damage: Once both arms are down, Null will collapse. Summon your strongest Echoes and attack its body for maximum damage.
- Hands from the Walls: Null will retreat, and its hands will emerge from the walls, sending shockwaves from multiple directions. Use Bind to grab these hands, letting Link destroy them. Watch for pools of miasma on the floor and avoid stepping into them.
When Null reappears, repeat the process: dodge shockwaves, pull the arms, and deal damage. After enough damage, Null retreats to begin the second phase.
Null Phase 2: The Submerged Pursuit
The second phase takes place underwater in a side-on view. You’ll need to manage your oxygen levels while fighting Null and its underwater minions.
- Equip for Swimming: Use the Zora’s Flippers and Zora Scale to move faster and conserve oxygen.
- Summon Underwater Echoes: Lizalfos Lv. 3 and Chompfin are excellent choices for this phase.
- Avoid Vocavor: Null will summon Vocavor enemies, which vary in size. Swim carefully to avoid them.
- Attacking Null: Bind Null’s tentacles and pull them, allowing your Echoes to attack the exposed weak points. Watch for whirlpools and steer clear of them.
- Stay Oxygenated: Touch air bubbles scattered throughout the area to replenish your oxygen supply.
This phase requires patience, as you’ll need to repeat the process of pulling tentacles and attacking the body several times. Eventually, Null will create a portal and retreat back to the main arena for the final phase.
Null Phase 3: The Climactic Showdown
The final phase is a chaotic mix of everything you’ve faced so far, with new twists to keep you on your toes.
- Six Arms, More Problems: Null now has six arms, each of which must be pulled and destroyed. Bind each arm, let Link attack, and focus on avoiding Null’s other attacks.
- Boss Summons: Null begins summoning past bosses to assist. These can include:
- Seismic Taelus: Spins in the center, damaging anything in its path.
- Mogryph: Sends sandstorms across the arena.
- Ganon: Charges from three directions.
- Skorchill: Spins and bounces around the room.
- Gohma: Fires spiderwebs that slow you down. Burn spiderwebs and use Echoes to manage the summoned enemies while focusing on Null’s arms.
- Null in the Walls: Null will retreat to the walls periodically, sending shockwaves and summoning more Echoes. Let Link and your own Echoes handle the enemies while you pull the boss’s arms.
Final Assault
As the fight progresses, the bosses’ attacks will overlap, making movement critical. Stay mobile, avoid pooling miasma, and heal frequently with Smoothies if needed.
Once you’ve pulled all six arms off for the third time, Null will collapse. This triggers a quicktime event—act quickly to deliver the final blow.
