If you’re just starting your journey in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom , you’ll probably come across the vast world of Hyrule, full of mysteries, challenges, and a new and creative mechanic involving “echoes.” And believe me, this ability will be the key to your victory, both in solving puzzles and in combat. Get ready to dive into this universe with the tips below, which are valuable for making all the difference in your gameplay. After all, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom offers a vast world full of possibilities, with an echo mechanic that allows for a creative approach to every aspect of the game. Remember to experiment, test new echo combinations, and make the most of every opportunity the game offers.

Good luck on your journey and enjoy this game, which is simply wonderful, another perfect pearl from Nintendo!

Understanding Echoes

At the heart of Echoes of Wisdom is Zelda’s ability to summon echoes. These echoes are nothing more than temporary copies of objects, monsters, and even structures that you encounter throughout the game. What’s great about this is that you can use these echoes in a variety of ways! Imagine, for example, that you need to cross a pond. With the echo ability, you can create a floating object, such as a bed, and use it as a platform. Or, how about stacking several beds together to form a makeshift ladder to reach a higher area?

The variety of echoes is immense, with over 100 options available, and each one can be used in creative ways. Don’t just stick to the obvious use of each echo – experimentation is key here. From creating ladders out of beds to using monsters to fight alongside you, the key is to combine strategy and exploration.

How to Use Echoes Wisely

Echoes aren’t just useful for solving puzzles; they’re also great allies in combat. Zelda, equipped with the Scepter of Tri, can summon monsters as echoes and direct them to attack enemies. This brings a new layer of strategy to combat, as you can customize your temporary army. Want to protect yourself from an incoming attack? Summon an echo from a sea urchin to create a barrier of spikes between you and your enemies.

One important detail is that echoes can be positioned dynamically. This means that once summoned, you can push, lift, and rearrange objects at will. So don’t worry about getting the positioning perfect right away; adjust as needed!

Exploring Hyrule: Using Echoes to Your Advantage

Exploration in Echoes of Wisdom is expansive and full of surprises. Every corner of Hyrule may contain something valuable or a secret waiting to be discovered. One of the first skills you’ll acquire is the ability to create trampolines – a great tool for reaching high areas and jumping over obstacles. Use the trampoline on trees, rooftops, and other surfaces to find hidden areas and valuable items.

Another essential tip is to always keep an eye out for suspicious objects. If you find a lone rock in the middle of a field or a single flower, there’s probably something hidden there. Use Zelda’s bind to move or destroy these objects and reveal secret items, like rupees or potion ingredients.

The Importance of the Encyclopedia of Echoes

As you unlock new echoes, be sure to check out the game’s Echo Encyclopedia. This tool not only provides a detailed description of each echo, but also suggests creative ways to use them. For example, an echo from a spear-wielding moblin might be perfect for attacking flying enemies. Best of all, this information is always at your fingertips—just access the menu with the + button to review your options.

Organizing Your Echo Inventory

With so many echoes to use, keeping your inventory organized is crucial. Luckily, Echoes of Wisdom makes this easy with a categorization system. By holding down the > button, you can quickly access your most-used or most recently used echoes. This saves time during battles and explorations by ensuring you always have the right echoes at your disposal.

Combat Tips: Using Echoes to Your Advantage

The combat mechanics in Echoes of Wisdom are quite versatile, thanks to the ability to summon echoes. During a battle, Zelda can summon a variety of monsters to fight alongside her. And best of all, you can direct them! By holding down the ZL button, you can select which enemy your echoes should attack, giving you complete control over the battlefield.

Another important tip is to keep an eye on Tri’s energy meter, which controls how many echoes you can summon at once. As you summon echoes, floating triangles will disappear from the scepter, indicating how much energy you have left. If you run out of energy, the game will automatically remove old echoes to make room for new ones – so don’t worry about the limit.

But be careful: echoes that emit a yellow glow are about to disappear, which can be problematic if you’re in the middle of a fight or using a platform to cross a chasm. Keep this detail in mind to avoid sticky situations!

Ingredient Combinations and Recipes

As with other Zelda games, food recipes are an important part of the gameplay. By combining ingredients you find around the map, you can cook meals that restore hearts, temporarily increase your abilities, and more. Visit a Smoothie Shop as often as you can to create new recipes or buy ready-made meals – but be aware that prices can be high if you don’t have the necessary ingredients!

Advanced Exploration Tips

As you progress through the game, the world of Hyrule will expand even further. Characters like Dampe will appear at certain points in the story, offering additional quests and challenges that unlock new powers for Tri. These challenges may involve creating automatons and require key items that you collect along your journey.

Don’t rush to explore every area at once. As the story unfolds, new rifts will appear in locations you’ve already visited, offering the chance to collect power crystals and other important items to increase Tri’s power and improve your ability to summon echoes.

Tricks for Exploring Difficult Environments

Environments like dense forests or dark caves can hide secrets and rewards, but they can also be dangerous. One useful trick is to use echoes from wooden objects, such as beds, to float across lakes or rivers. Similarly, rocks and other heavier objects can serve as platforms in lava flows.

If you find a Crawltula, use it to climb vertical surfaces and access forbidden areas. This particular echo is excellent for exploring hard-to-reach places and finding secrets that would otherwise be hidden.

How to Rent a Horse

Once you complete the first dungeon in Suthorn Forests, you’ll unlock access to other areas of Hyrule. Once you start the main quest Searching for Everyone , you’ll be free to explore most of the land. One of the first places you should visit is Hyrule Ranch, which is located to the west of Suthorn Forests.

To get there, leave the prairie area and head west through Hyrule Field. Pass through a grove of trees until you find Hyrule Ranch. Upon arriving, you’ll find an elderly gentleman who runs the place. Talk to him, and he’ll tell you about a horse that’s gone missing, starting the side quest called Runaway Horse . The mission here is to find out where the horse went. Ask the locals nearby, and they’ll point you to an area further west.

Leaving the ranch and following a small canyon between three hills, you will reach a water hole where you will find the horse trapped on a small island. So, how do you get the horse out of there? Don’t worry! The horses in Echoes of Wisdom don’t need a large platform to jump. You can use your echo ability to create a makeshift bridge out of old beds or other objects that can act as platforms. With this, you can create a path for the horse to jump out of the hole with ease.

Once you rescue the horse and return to the ranch, the owner will be so happy that he will let you choose any of the three horses available to rent! That’s right, you can rent a horse for as long as you want. Oh, but there’s one detail: the white horse won’t be available yet, but don’t worry, I’ll explain how to get it later.

Tips for Using Horses

Horses are incredibly fast and will help you traverse great distances in Hyrule in less time. What’s more, they’re not just a means of transportation — when charging towards enemies, horses can also deal damage, making them very useful for quick combat. What’s more, the last horse you rode will appear on your map as an icon, so if you get off your horse and get lost, you can simply check the map to find it again.

How to Get Zelda’s Horse

Now, if you’ve been eyeing that white horse and suspect it belongs to Princess Zelda, you’re right! But you’ll only be able to access it after progressing a little further in the main story. First, you’ll need to complete the Still Missing quest and repair the rift that appears in Hyrule Castle by defeating the dungeon associated with it.

Once this part of the quest is complete, you’ll be given a new task: finding the Goddess Lands. At this point, go talk to Impa. She’ll start the Impa’s Gift side quest , which will eventually lead you to getting your own horse, including Zelda’s iconic white horse.

However, as in any good adventure game, things are never that simple, right? When you return to Hyrule Ranch, you will discover that the white horse was taken for a ride, but ended up falling into a crevasse north of the ranch, near a carrot farm. Your mission will be to track down this crevasse and repair it, but to do so, you will need the help of all of Tri’s friends.

Once you’ve fixed the rift, the horse will return, but you need one last trick: use Tri’s staff to pull a carrot from the ground. That’s right, a simple carrot will be the key to summoning the horse. And what’s more! By learning how to create the carrot echo, you’ll be able to summon the horse from virtually anywhere. Just imagine, you’re in the middle of a dense forest or on top of a mountain, just summon a carrot and the horse will come running!

Flag Races at Hyrule Ranch

With your own horse, you’ll have the chance to take part in special races at Hyrule Ranch called Flag Races . There are three different courses, each with progressively higher difficulty, and each victory will earn you great rewards. So, not only is racing your horse fun, but it can also be worth it for the chance to win useful prizes for your adventure.

Extra Tips for Riding

  1. Keep Your Horse Close : As I mentioned before, you can use the carrot echo to call your horse from anywhere. This is super useful when you get off your horse to explore an area and then realize you want to get back on without going back to where you started.
  2. Horses in Combat : Remember that horses can deal damage by running over enemies while running. This can be especially useful against smaller groups of monsters you encounter along the way. Be careful, though, horses can be hit and if they take too much damage, they will need to rest to recover their health.
  3. Beware of Difficult Terrain : Although horses are fast in open terrain, they can struggle in mountainous areas or dense forests. In these cases, it may be more efficient to dismount and continue on foot until you reach a more open area.
  4. Exploration with the Horse : The horse not only speeds up your exploration, but also helps you reach previously inaccessible places. For example, there are small elevations or areas that you would not be able to climb normally, but with the horse and the clever use of echoes (such as creating temporary platforms), you can reach these places and discover hidden secrets.
  5. Maintenance and Care : Don’t forget to take care of your horse! Although he is a hardy horse, it is important to pay attention to his condition. You can grow carrots to feed him and restore his energy, ensuring that he remains healthy and ready to accompany you on your adventures.

How to Get and Use Bombs in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

If you’ve played other Zelda games , you’re used to finding bombs scattered around Hyrule to blow up cracked walls or defeat tough enemies. In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom , the bomb mechanics are a bit different, and you’ll have to use the echoes of certain monsters to improvise your explosions. The good news? Bombs are even more versatile here! Let’s explore how to get and use the best “bombs” the game has to offer, and how to use them strategically.

Bombs in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom offer much more than just explosions. With the echoes of monsters like the Bombfish and Zirro , you can bring a new dynamic to the game, both in combat and exploration. And of course, powerful Power Bombs will ensure you have the strength you need to take on more complex challenges as you progress through the story.

Check out the best ways to get and use bombs in the game below, so you can tackle any obstacle Hyrule throws your way. Remember: be creative, use your bombs wisely, and make the most of this explosive mechanic!

Bombfish: Your First “Bomb”

The first type of “bomb” you’ll encounter in the game isn’t a traditional bomb, but rather the echo of an explosive fish known as a Bombfish . This little monster can be extremely useful in a variety of situations, especially in the early stages of the game.

To get the Bombfish Echo , you’ll need to travel east to the Zora River area, right after completing the first rift and dungeon in Suthorn Forest. As you make your way to the Zora village, keep an eye out for a cave that will appear to the left of a large rift on your map. Inside this cave, you’ll see a sign warning you not to disturb the Bombfish . Funny, right? Here’s a quick tip: throw an Octorok into the water. This will cause the Bombfish to explode, and once it explodes, you’ll be able to collect its Echo.

Now that you have the Bombfish Echo , it’s time to learn how to use it efficiently.

How to Use Bombfish

The Bombfish works like a basic bomb. You can either pick it up manually and throw it, or if you prefer more precision, use the L2 button to lock onto an enemy or object and the Bombfish will automatically move to its target. While it can be a bit tricky to handle on dry land, its great advantage is that it doesn’t damage you. This means you can safely hold it and place it in the right place with ease.

This trait makes the Bombfish perfect for solving puzzles involving cracked walls, underwater rocks, or even wooden crates that need to be destroyed. It’s particularly useful against enemies you don’t know how to attack, like electric monsters. If you encounter enemies like Buzz Bombs that are difficult to deal with head-on, use the Bombfish to take them down safely.

Additionally, in underwater areas, the Bombfish excels even more. It can be thrown directly into the water to destroy cracked rocks or other aquatic obstacles, opening new paths and revealing hidden secrets.

Zirro: The Bomb with Wings

If you’re looking for an even more advanced option, why not consider Zirro ? This echo is a familiar face to players from A Link to the Past , where he was an annoying enemy. However, in Echoes of Wisdom , Zirro becomes an excellent bombardment tool for you.

Zirro looks like a winged mushroom that spits bombs from above. He can be a bit tricky to deal with as an enemy, but once you capture his echo, he’ll be a great ally. To find him, you’ll need to explore the trails of Eldin Volcano. While this region will be part of the main story later in the game, you can explore it before then if you want. However, be prepared for a challenge, as the path to get there isn’t easy!

Once you reach Goron City, head west to encounter a group of Zirros . To defeat them, I recommend using aerial monsters to attack them from a distance, as they have high mobility and can be difficult to hit on the ground.

How to Use Zirro

Zirro is useful in situations where you need to bomb hard-to-reach areas or deal with groups of aerial enemies. It has a unique ability to attack from above, which is great for fast-moving enemies or for precise bombing from high places. This gives you a significant tactical advantage in mountainous areas or caves with varying elevations.

The ability to drop bombs from above also makes it easier to destroy vulnerable structures in tricky terrain. If you encounter cracked walls or obstacles in high places, call upon Zirro to do the dirty work for you.

Power Bombs: The Ultimate Explosive

As you progress through the game, especially in the Eldin Volcano region, you will eventually gain access to Bombs of Might . These bombs are more traditional, similar to the bombs we know from other games in the franchise, but much more powerful. They can be used directly in your swordsman form (when you are in sword fighting mode).

To get these powerful bombs, you’ll need to reach the Eldin Temple on the second floor. At this point, there will be a battle against the fearsome Dark Link , and upon winning, you’ll be rewarded with Power Bombs . However, there’s one important detail: you’ll only be able to use them as long as you have enough energy in your sword form. If your sword power runs out, the bombs will also become unavailable until you recharge your energy.

Despite all the power these bombs offer, many players find themselves preferring the Bombfish in certain situations, simply for its convenience and ease of use on any terrain. Additionally, if you return to Lueberry Town and collect Power Crystals , you can even upgrade your Power Bombs , turning them into Bombchus — explosives that move along the ground and up walls before detonating! This opens up even more possibilities for solving puzzles and defeating enemies in hard-to-reach places.

General Tips for Using Bombs in the Game

  1. Save your resources : While echoes from monsters like Bombfish and Zirro are reusable, Power Bombs require more strategy in their use. Don’t waste this resource on lesser enemies or obstacles that could be dealt with in other ways.
  2. Think outside the box : Bombs in Echoes of Wisdom aren’t just for destroying cracked walls. Use them creatively in combat, to open hidden shortcuts, or even to interact with environmental elements you wouldn’t have thought of at first.
  3. Scout before you attack : Bombs can often be the solution to obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. If you find a path blocked or enemies that seem invulnerable, try using an explosive echo to open up new possibilities. Some enemies, such as electric monsters, are especially vulnerable to explosions.
  4. Upgrade your arsenal : As you progress through the game, be sure to upgrade your bombs, especially Power Bombs . Turning these bombs into Bombchus can completely change your approach to some dungeons and difficult areas, as they can automatically move to their target and explode at the right time.
  5. Combine with other skills : If you’re in a tight spot, consider combining bomb usage with other skills and echoes. For example, you can use flying monsters to attack from afar while setting up a bomb to attack up close. The versatility of bombs in Echoes of Wisdom is one of their greatest strengths.
