The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Guide: All Tool Upgrades

Friends, especially to you, “Janitors”, all tool item upgrades in Ocarina of Time.

1st Upgrade for Deku Sticks:

Go to Lost Woods and once there, go right, left, right, left and left.

You will emerge in an open-air place with two Deku Scrubs and a grassy area with a tree and some butterflies in the background. Go near the butterflies and slowly walk around that place. You must find a hole in the ground that will make you fall. Here is the area where there is a legion of Deku Scrubs who love masked people. If you are using the Skull Mask, they will tell you that you are really ugly, but they will give you the first upgrade to Deku Sticks, allowing you to carry 20 of them.

2nd Upgrade for Deku Sticks:

Enter the Lost Woods, go left twice and you will come out in an area where there are some bridges. At the bottom of this area, behind a log, you’ll find a Deku Scrub vendor. Defeat him, talk to the Scrub who will offer you the Deku Sticks upgrade for 40 Rupees. This upgrade will allow you to carry 30 Deku Sticks.

1st Upgrade for Deku Seed:

Enter Lost Woods, go right once. As soon as you enter the next area, you will see a strange object hanging from a tree right in front of you. This is a target. Hit the center using the Fairy Slingshot, getting 100 points (Shot in the middle) three times. If you succeed, a Deku Scrub will reward you with an upgrade to Deku Seed, which allows you to carry 40 of them.

2nd Upgrade for Deku Sticks:

In the Market, there is a house where you can enter and play the target shooting minigame. Pay the fat guy 20 Rupees to play. You will have limited ammunition to hit all the Rupees that pass on the screen (10 in total). If you make a mistake, try again. If you get 8 or more right, you can try again without having to pay. By doing this, you will get the upgrade that allows you to carry up to 50 Deku Seeds.

1st Bomb Bag Upgrade:

After getting the regular Bomb Bag in Dodongo’s Cavern, return to Goron City, still as a child, and there will be a Goron rolling around the halls. To make it stop, you can use a bomb, but this won’t work everywhere. Go to the area where there is a tunnel and wait for him to come. Calculate the exact moment for the bomb to hit him as he is approaching. If you calculated correctly, he will stop rolling inside the tunnel. Talk to him, who will give you the first Bomb Bag upgrade for your courage. Allowing you to carry up to 30 Bombs.

2nd Bomb Bag Upgrade:

Go to the Market as Link child in the evening and the house that allows you to play Bombchu Bowling will be open. Talk to the girl and pay 30 Rupees. She will then reveal your prize, which will be random. Among the prizes is the second Bomb Bag upgrade. If this is your prize, win to get it and you can carry up to 40 Bombs.

1st Upgrade to Arrow:

This is similar to the second upgrade for Deku Seeds, but this time the house that allows you to play target shooting (Now as an adult Link) is in Kakariko Village. Use the same scheme, but you should have a lot of experience shooting arrows, as the targets usually pass by at a good speed. By getting 10 Rupees right, you will receive the upgrade that allows you to carry up to 40 Arrows.

2nd Upgrade for Arrow:

After obtaining the Gerudo’s Card in Gerudo’s Fortress to be able to roam freely around the place, go up to the archer training center set up in Epona. There, train your aim at targets until you acquire 1500 points or more. If you achieve this mark, the Gerudo in the hut will give you the upgrade that allows you to carry up to 50 Arrows.

1st Upgrade for Deku Nut:

Exactly the same place where you get the first upgrade for Deku Sticks, where the Deku Scrubs evaluate your mask. Put on the Mask of Truth, the Scrubs will love it and will give you the upgrade that allows you to carry up to 30 Deku Nuts.

2nd Upgrade for Deku Nut:

In Lost Woods, go right, left, right, left, forward, and left again. In this area you will find a rock, blow it up with a Bomb. Fall through the hole that reveals itself and defeat the first Deku Scrub vendor. Then pay him the amount of 40 Rupees to get the upgrade that allows you to carry up to 40 Deku Nuts.
