The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Guide: Where to find all the heart pieces

So guys, playing Zelda a lot? I hope you’re having fun.

With the desire to help you have the best experience possible, we bring here several tips and, this time, it is the location of all the pieces of hearts. Don’t forget to look at the requirements next to the location name. Happy adventure guys!

ALL THE PIECES OF HEARTS

Lon Lon Ranch (Child) [None]:

In the stable on the other side of the ranch. Inside there are some boxes piled up in the corner, move them until the corner is free of boxes, revealing a small hole. Go through it to find the Heart Piece.

Death Mountain Trail (Both) [Magic Bean]:

When you have young Link, plant a Magic Bean in the soft soil at the entrance to Dodongo’s Cavern. Return as Adult Link and climb onto the flying platform, at the top of the cave is the Heart Piece.

Hyrule Field (Any) [Bomb – Iron Boots and Golden Scale]:

Leaving the Market, go to the far right. You’ll find a rock, some trees, and a wall behind them. Follow the castle walls and you will reach an area with lots of trees. From a distance you will be able to see a large brown tree that is separated from the others. Go to it, place a bomb at its base and enter through the hole that will appear. Put on the Iron Boots or use the Golden Scale to get the Heart Piece that is underneath the water.

Hyrule Field (Any) [Bomb]:

At the entrance to Lake Hylia (Southwest part of the Hyrule Field map), there is a fenced-off square area. Place a bomb in the center of this area and drop down the hole. Defeat the Deku Scrub who will sell you a Heart Piece for 10 Rupees.

Kakariko Village (Child) [200 Rupees or more]:

In the afternoon, head to the Graveyard and talk to the gravedigger Dampé. He will be able to dig in a place looking for items for 10 Rupees. Just wait for him at the desired location, if he doesn’t stop in front of the desired location, go a little backwards and when he is at the location, talk to him and Dampé will dig. The location of the Heart Piece is random, but after a while you will find it.

Kakariko Village (Any) [Side Jump or Longshot]:

With adult Link, after getting the Longshot, shoot the roof with a man on top (House with the blue roof) who will give you the Heart Piece as a gift. If you are with child Link, climb the highest tower, look to the side of Death Mountain, hold down the Z button and then do a side jump: left arrow + A. With this you will fall on top of the house.

Kakariko Village (Any) [Bomb or Longshot]:

After finding the first Great Fairy (At the top of Death Mountain), talk to the owl. She will take you back to Kakariko Village, leaving Link on a roof. Go down the left side, landing on a platform over the chicken pen, go through the door to get the Heart Piece next to the cow. If you prefer, you can still get it as an adult after obtaining the Longshot, shooting it at the roof.

Kakariko Village (Adult) [None]:

Return to Dampé’s tomb after receiving the Hookshot and he will challenge you to a race again. By completing the race in less than 1 minute, you will receive the Heart Piece. The safest way to do this is after getting the Longshot, so in the last area where there is a spiral staircase, as soon as you enter, just shoot the fire pillar on your right, a little above, to be pulled and cut the path . Or keep rolling to gain a few crucial seconds, it’s better that you don’t get hit by any fire.

Kakariko Village (Any) [50 Golden Skulltulas]:

After collecting 50 Golden Skulltulas, return to House Skulltula. Talk to the fifth freed child and get a Heart Piece.

Kakariko Village (Both) [Magic Bean or Longshot] :

After purchasing Magic Beans, return to the Graveyard and plant one in the soft soil. Return as an adult and climb the plant to be elevated. At the top, destroy the box to get another Heart Piece. If you prefer, just grab the box to be pulled and reach it this other way.

Kakariko Village (Any) [Sun’s Song]:

In the Graveyard, go to the middle sequence of tombstones and pull the one with some flowers growing around it. Enter the hole, defeat the zombie and play the Sun’s Song to reveal a chest containing the Heart Piece.

Zora’s River (Child) [Song of Storms]:

On the way along the river you will find some fallen branches, climb the branch and use the Ocarina. Some frogs will come to watch you. Play the Song of Storms to receive a Heart Piece.

Zora’s River (Child) [The 5 normal Ocarina songs]:

In the same location as the previous Heart Piece, play the first five songs from the Ocarina and the frogs will ask you to play a sort of ”Catch the Bug” game. You will have to quickly press the button corresponding to the frog on which the fly appears. If you have a lot of difficulty, the sequence is this: A, C left, C right, C down, C left, C right, C down, A, C down, A, C down, C right, C left, A.

Zora’s River (Any) [Chicken or Hover Boots]:

As a child Link, pick up the chicken at the beginning of the river and continue your way up the river, always continuing along the platforms with the chicken still on it. At a certain point, you will have to jump to lower ground (Just before the fallen branches), but as you are holding the chicken, it will float a little before falling, throw the chicken so that Link reaches a platform. Go up and turn to your right to see a platform with a Heart Piece, go there and get it. If you prefer, as an adult Link, just use the Hover Boots.

Zora’s River (Any) [Chicken or Hover Boots]:

As a child, do the same as above, pick up the chicken and make your way up the river. This time go to the entrance to Zora’s Domain, at the waterfall. Up there, turn back and you will see a platform with a Heart Piece, go there by floating with the chicken to get it. If you prefer, as an adult Link, just use the Hover Boots.

Market (Child) [Puppy]:

A lady inside one of the houses on Backstreet lost her little white dog (during the night). She finds the little animal near the Bazaar and takes it back to the woman to get a Heart Piece.

Market (Child) [Bombchus Skill – 30 Rupees]:

In the Bombchu Bowling mini-game you win random prizes. Keep playing the game until the prize is the Heart Piece, win the game and you will receive the Heart Piece.

Market (Child) [10 Rupees]:

In the evening, you can play the Treasure Chest Game. It’s a pure matter of luck as to which of the two chests contains the key to the next room, and there are several rooms. Instead of randomly trying your luck, come back here after obtaining the Lens of Truth.

Using this item, you can see which chest the key is in. Winning, you get the Heart Piece in the chest.

Lost Woods (Child) [Saria’s Song]:

When entering Lost Woods, head left. Climb up the stump and talk to Skull Kid. Play Saria’s Song for him, receiving the Heart Piece.

Kakariko Village (Adult) [Defeat Dampé]:

Inside the mill, you will see a Heart Piece on top of the spinning wheel.

You can only go up there after running Dampé’s tomb in the Graveyard.

Lost Woods (Child) [Good memory]:

When you enter the Lost Woods, go right and go down the stairs. Climb up the trunk and talk to two Skull Kids. You’ll have to follow their melody with the Ocarina in a kind of memory game. If you want, mark the sequence on paper, but if you follow the sequence without the paper it will be better.

Zora’s Domain (Child) [Deku stick]:

There are several torches in this area that are unlit. Go up to King Zora’s room and light a Deku Stick. Quickly go down the ladder and light a torch. Head to the shop and light one, head towards the waterfall and light one at the stone circle. Now go behind the waterfall bordering the wall and light two torches.

Doing everything quickly before one of the torches goes out, a chest will appear behind the waterfall. Open it to get the Heart Piece.

Zora’s Fountain (Adult) [None]:

Coming back as an adult, you will notice that everything has frozen. Jump from platform to platform until you reach the eastern part of the map. There, you will find a platform with a Heart Piece.

Zora’s Fountain (Adult) [Iron Boots]:

After obtaining the Iron Boots and the Zora Tunic (Optional), go to the bottom of the fountain and, in the deepest part, you will find a Heart Piece surrounded by several green Rupees.

Ice Cavern (Adult) [Blue Fire]:

Grab a Blue Fire with a Bottle and melt the frozen red wall in the eastern part of the large ice propeller room. Use a Blue Fire to melt the red pillar containing a Heart Piece (In the same room where you get the Compass).

Death Mountain Crater (Adult) [None]:

If you enter Death mountain Crater through the cave at the peak of the mountain, go forward until you reach the edge of the platform you are on. Walk forward very slowly until you grab the edge. Then go down the middle until you reach a small opening in the wall with a Heart Piece.

Death Mountain Crater (Both) [Magic Bean]:

As child Link, plant a Magic Bean in the soft soil in front of the Fire Temple. Return as an adult and climb onto the flying platform. At one point, jump to the top of one of the small volcanoes to get the Heart Piece.

Goron City (Child) [Deku Stick – Bomb]:

Enter Darunia’s room and light a Deku Stick from one of the torches. Then leave the room and light all the torches that are on the lowest level of Goron City. The large statue/vase will start to rotate. Go up to the upper level and throw a bomb into it and it will start spinning quickly, revealing the Heart Piece.

Lake Hylia (Any) [20 Rupees]:

Head to the fishing area and catch a fish from 10 Ponds. Talk to the clerk, weigh the fish and get the Heart Piece.

Lake Hylia (Adult) [Golden Scale]:

After obtaining the Golden Scale, go to Lakeside Laboratory and dive into the pool. With the Golden Scale you can touch the bottom of the pool. After doing this, talk to the doctor and, as a reward for your skill, he will give you a Heart Piece. There’s no point in cheating and using Iron Boots, it only works with Golden Scale.

Lake Hylia (Both) [Magic Bean]:

Plant a Magic Bean near the lab as a child, return as an adult and climb onto the platform. Jump on top of the laboratory. Climb the ladder to the observation tower and at the top you will find a Heart Piece.

Gerudo Valley (Child) [Chicken]:

As a child, grab the chicken and then go to the middle of the bridge. Look to your right and you will see a waterfall. Aim for the center of the waterfall and then jump towards it. You will find a small opening with a Heart Piece behind the waterfall. If you don’t get it right, there’s still a ladder to climb up.

Gerudo Valley (Any) [Chicken or Longshot] :

As a child, take the chicken and go to the edge of the cliff. Look to the left and you will see a small platform with a box on the other side. Jump with the chicken towards the platform to reach it. Now break the box to get the Heart Piece. If you’re an adult, just go to the edge of the cliff on the far left (without crossing to the other side) and look down. You will see a platform. Then jump diagonally along the wall or just fall by hanging to reach the platform below, from there, just use the Longshot to reach the box that contains the Heart Piece.

Gerudo Fortress (Adult) [Longshot or Scarecrow’s Song]:

When you are exploring the Fort, you will find a chest at the top. You can get to him by being on top of the room where Link is trapped and using the Longshot on the chest, on the other side you can play Scarecrow’s Song and then using the Longshot on the scarecrow. Anyway, open the chest and get the Heart Piece.

Gerudo Fortress (Adult) [Gerudo’s Card – Epona]:

After obtaining the Gerudo’s Card (Freeing the 4th carpenter), return to the location and call Epona. Follow the valley to the right of the Fort and you will reach the horse archery training area. Get 1000 points or more to win the Heart Piece.

Desert Colossus (both) [Magic Bean – Requiem of Spirit]:

Plant a Magic Bean in the soft soil in front of the Spirit Temple as child Link (Play the Requiem of Spirit to get there). Then return as an adult and climb onto the flying platform. At some point, she will pass through a stone arch. Jump at the top of the arch to get the Heart Piece.
